Chapter Text
"They say the place is haunted," Lupin stated, explaining the location of their next heist.
Jigen's brow twitched under his hat. "Oh yeah? And why do they say that?"
Lupin grinned mischievously. "Because of the ghosts."
Jigen uncrossed his legs. "I call bull. There's no such thing as ghosts."
"He's right, Jigen," Goemon spoke for the first time since they'd gathered. "The Windsor Castle is said to be the final resting place of the White Lady, one of the princesses of Windsor."
"Rumor has it that she had an affair with a servant, and her father King Windsor locked her in the castle's dungeon," Lupin added, waving his hands for dramatic effect. "And to this day, she roams the underground dungeons, searching for a way out."
"And don't tell me that-"
"Exactly! The treasure we're after is her diadem, rumored to be located in the very dungeon she died in."
"But it won't be easy," Goemon closed his eyes. "The dungeons form a complex maze, not to mention the security above. The castle still houses the royal family today, which means-"
"-we'll have company," Jigen finished, sighing.
