Work Text:

Kyungsoo was sure he’d found the perfect apartment.

With every room the real estate agent showed him, he got more convinced of this. It had everything he could ask for: a nice open kitchen for his cooking, a shower with a bathtub, a little balcony for him to sit on and big windows letting natural lighting flow in. It was also conveniently situated near the city center, and, though definitely smaller than the place he shared with Baekhyun, was more than big enough for Kyungsoo alone.

He fell in love with it the moment he first walked in, already envisioning how nice it’d be to live there and how he could add his personal touch to it. It was already furnished, but every piece of furniture was well chosen and exactly where Kyungsoo would’ve placed it. It was like it had been waiting just for him.

It was when the real estate agent told him how much the rent was that that his fantasies came to a stop. He was incredulous. An apartment with so many positive attributes in such a location should have been more on the expensive side, but instead it it was… really cheap. Unbelievably and almost ridiculously so.

Of course, Kyungsoo was glad it was affordable, because initially he’d worried it’d be way out of his budget, but this deal was suspiciously good. No sane person would charge that little for something like this. There had to be a catch. He wondered whether he should back out after all

“For god’s sake, Kyungsoo”, Baekhyun said after Kyungsoo had told him about it that evening. “The last apartment was too expensive for you and now you’re chickening out because it’s too affordable?”

Kyungsoo played with his hands in his lap. “It’s just suspicious. There has to be a catch, don’t you think?”

“You’re ridiculous. You’d be an idiot not to jump on the opportunity before someone else does.”

“There’s literally no way this isn’t a scam,” Kyungsoo said. Yet he did feel a bit dramatic for turning down this amazing chance over something he couldn’t put his finger on.

Baekhyun chewed on the slice of pizza he was eating, contemplating for a moment. “Well, since it is so cheap, you could just go ahead and move in for a month to find out for yourself.”

“I don’t think that’s how leases work. I can’t just move out over night.”

“But if they didn’t inform you about some major issue, they would be violating the lease anyway, no? So you’d have the right to take legal action.”

Kyungsoo scratched his head. “Sounds like a questionable idea. That’s very risky.”

“Oh, come on.” Baekhyun whined. “What do you think is gonna happen? You’ve seen the apartment. They can’t hide any major things from you.”

He had a point. Though Kyungsoo felt like there should be something wrong, he couldn’t think of anything concrete that would be terrible enough to ruin the apartment for him and that was likely to actually be the case. Was he overthinking it? But then again, it was such a big decision to make and he didn’t want to fall into a trap.

“I don’t know, Baekhyun.” He sighed, tired of thinking about this. It hadn’t left his mind since leaving the apartment tour hours earlier.

“Just don’t worry so much. I can see how much you want that apartment. And, I mean, the rent being affordable is a good thing.” Baekhyun raised a suggestive eyebrow.

“You’re right, but… I just don’t know.” Kyungsoo rubbed his temples.

“You don’t wanna be stuck with me forever, do you?”

“…”

Eventually, he gave in. Maybe it seemed too good to be true, but couldn’t things be good for once?

The apartment was just too perfect to refuse and the thought of having to live with Baekhyun for even longer was pretty motivating on top of that. Because if living with Baekhyun all throughout college had taught him one thing, it was that he really appreciated his personal space. Really, he loved Baekhyun and all, but sharing everything with that guy was exhausting. He was tired of cleaning up after him, of hearing him sing through the wall almost every night, of waiting half an hour to use the bathroom, and of him constantly having his noisy friends over.

The temptation of being free and living in peace in combination with the apartment of his dreams being at arm’s reach was enough to make him say yes to this perhaps sketchy deal.

Three weeks later, Baekhyun helped him carry his stuff into his new apartment.

Kyungsoo couldn’t help but beam at the sight of the place when they walked into the living room. It was still hard to believe that he lived here now, but he felt so relieved. The difficult decision of whether or not to go for it was far behind him and his worries had mainly been replaced by excitement.

“It’s really nice here.” Baekhyun put down the suitcase he’d been carrying in the middle of the living room and immediately ran off on an independent exploration through all the rooms.

Kyungsoo eyed his new space proudly. It already felt somewhat homely to him, the way it wasn’t too spacey but still comfortable and full of cozy touches, like the many pillows on the couch or the pretty convincing fake plants that added color here and there. He filled himself a glass of water in the kitchen, drinking a small sip before setting it down on the counter again.

“I see why you were so crazy about this place, it’s so nice” Baekhyun said when he came back from his tour. “You should let me sleep over some time.”

“Someday.” Kyungsoo said, knowing that day would ideally be far in the future. For now, he just wanted to loaf all by himself.

He picked up the glass again and put it against his open lips, surprised at how light it was. Not a single drop of water was left. He could’ve sworn it’d been almost full just a few seconds ago. Shrugging, he filled it up again.

Baekhyun let himself fall down on the sofa, stretching out his entire body on the soft surface. He closed his eyes and let out a dramatic sigh. “I still can’t believe you’re leaving me.”

Kyungsoo laughed. “For someone who was so desperate to throw me out, you sure can’t seem to be without me.”

He did have a hard time imagining Baekhyun functioning on his own. Kyungsoo had been the one to do almost all of their housework because the older was absolutely useless when it came to chores. Even if it was something simple like taking out the trash, he never remembered to do it (at least that was his most common excuse). Not to mention that Baekhyun literally could not entertain himself longer than half an hour without talking to someone. He’d already threatened to call everyday.

“Sure I can.” Baekhyun said, not sounding fully convinced himself.

“Sure you can.” Kyungsoo affirmed sarcastically.

“I’m serious. Actually, I just figured out another good thing about you moving out!”

“And what’s that?”

“Well, since you can’t cook for us anymore and me trying to cook would endanger the entire facility, I now have a perfectly good excuse for Chanyeol to come over and cook for us as often as possible.”

“I thought you said you were gonna use this opportunity to finally learn how to prepare your own meals?”

Baekhyun scoffed. “Why would I when Chanyeol looks that hot when he’s cooking? Seriously, have you seen him? I don’t know what it is but it’s such a turn-on.”

“Too much info,” Kyungsoo winced.

“What I’m trying to say,” Baekhyun continued. “Is that I’ll manage fine without you. More time for me to have my amazing, hot boyfriend over.”

“You already have him over like three times a week anyway.” Kyungsoo chuckled. At least he wouldn’t have to witness their gross flirting all the time anymore.

“Now it can be four or five times a week.”

“Very happy for you. Looks like both of us will be absolutely thriving.” Kyungsoo said dryly.

“Oh, don’t act you won’t struggle without me at all!” Baekhyun pouted. “Right now you’re content and all, but I’m telling you: After a few weeks, you’ll miss me. You need me.”

Kyungsoo laughed and sat down next to his friend on the couch. He doubted that. “Maybe in small doses. I’ll be having a great time all by myself.”

Baekhyun crossed his arms. “And you won’t be scared? All alone?” He teased.

“Why the hell would I be scared?”

“Oh, you know,” Baekhyun said mysteriously. “When it gets all dark and stuff… You’ll be all by yourself. What if the landlord’s secret is that the power doesn’t work properly and suddenly you’re left in the dark and I won’t be there to protect you?”

Kyungsoo rolled his eyes. Yes, had a strong fear of the dark. Ever since Baekhyun had discovered this fact about him the night they had a power failure in their apartment, it had become his favorite joke. He’d always find a way to tease him about it, no matter the original topic of conversation. He especially enjoyed bringing it up in front of all of their friends because it was apparently that hilarious. Kyungsoo himself knew how silly this fear was. He wasn’t five years old and it wasn’t like he believed in ghosts or anything. It was just that he didn’t like the uncertainty of being in dark spaces. It made him feel trapped and powerless. And he didn’t really find it all that funny.

“Be serious. The only way you could ever protect me would be by being an easier target.” He countered coldly.

“As if you weren’t shorter than me. If anyone’s an easy target, it’s you.”

Kyungsoo chuckled. “Sure, if you say so.”

On the evening of the next day, the first weird thing happened.

Kyungsoo was stirring the inside of a pan with a wooden spoon, preparing a simple ramen recipe for dinner. The apartment was quiet except for the nature documentary he’d turned on just for background noises because maybe he still wasn’t fully used to everything being silent. It was his first full day in his own, new apartment and cooking for himself only was much more enjoyable than doing it for someone else as well. And after a long, exhausting day in the office, it was relaxing, meditative even, to just watch the noodles boil in the pot and focus on nothing but cutting veggies.

Also, Baekhyun wasn’t around, so nothing was stopping him from wearing what he considered the most comfortable type of outfit: nothing but an oversized t-shirt over his underwear. He’d never believed in wearing pants when there was no need to, this was just too comfy. Baekhyun would sometimes complain when he did this, but Kyungsoo was sure that only came from a place of jealously over his pretty legs.

Speaking of Baekhyun, he was probably calling Chanyeol over to their— his place at that very moment. And Chanyeol would cook for him while they’d flirt and giggle in the kitchen like whipped high-schoolers. At least he didn’t have to watch this time.

Chanyeol wasn’t Kyungsoo’s type by any stretch of the imagination, nor was he into the sugary PDA the couple always rubbed in his face, but he couldn’t help but be a bit envious of what they had. Kyungsoo’s last relationship had been in his first year of college, four whole years ago. Maybe it was his cold facade or his standards were just too high, but there just didn’t seem to be many opportunities for him to date. It would be really nice to have someone like that, too. Who would just come over sometimes and joke around or cuddle with him. Not that he was lonely, he was just… not that fulfilled.

Frankly, he was also just really touch-starved.

He shook his head and tried to listen to the television instead to get rid of the thought. The documentary was now talking about the mating rituals of emperor penguins. Not very helpful.

Kyungsoo was sprinkling in some extra salt when he suddenly stiffened at a gust of air that hit the back of his neck. He shuddered. Something soft and wet grazed his nape, leaving a tingling sensation on his skin. Kyungsoo flinched, shoulders riding up instinctively, which shook off whatever had been touching him. It had felt really gentle, almost like a kiss. He looked over his shoulder and sighed, because there was no one. Obviously. Was he imagining things again? Was he really that touch-starved?

Turning back to his food, he scooped up a bit of the soup with the spoon and guided it to his lips to taste it. He scrunched his nose at how hot it was, but the taste was just right. He smiled to himself. His workload had prevented him from having lunch, so he was hungry.

A loud, unexpected banging noise made him jump and his spoon dropped to the floor. He whirled around to see the cupboard next to him violently slam open and shut over and over. It seemed to move on its own accord, but it was forceful enough to create a loud thud every time.

Kyungsoo furrowed his brow at it, puzzled. He grabbed the cupboard door and halted its movement without difficulty and closed it carefully. When he let go, it didn’t open anymore. The movement had ceased.

That was weird. But maybe the cupboard was just old and loose. Though that didn’t really explain anything either. For a second, he stared at it, as if it would eventually just explain itself to him. Then he blinked and shook his head. It wasn’t worth wasting his energy worrying about it. There was a logical explanation, even if he couldn’t see it right away. Nothing to get worked up over.

He bent down to pick up the spoon in front of him. The moment he grasped the tool, he felt something pinch his bottom. Hard. That somehow startled him so bad he lost his balance and stumbled forwards with a little yelp, supporting himself on his hands with the spoon pressed painfully between his palm and the floor.

“What the hell?” He quickly got back up, scanning the room for any cause of what’d just happened, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. He couldn’t see anyone or anything that could’ve touched him like that. For some reason, his cheeks were burning in shame at his jumpy reaction. Baekhyun would’ve laughed at him nonstop. And maybe he would have deserved it.

“Hello…?” He awkwardly asked into the empty room, not knowing what he was expecting. There was no reply. Of course.

He must have imagined it, that was obviously the only rational explanation, but it had felt so vivid and so real. Could it really just be his mind playing tricks on him? What if… He shook his head. He didn’t like thinking about this. It made him anxious for some reason. So worrying about it was just silly. What was he even unsettled about? It couldn’t be that he’d been groped by a ghost or something. That would be ridiculous.

After that incident, more weird things caught Kyungsoo’s attention. First of all, things kept showing up in places he knew he hadn’t left them. The remote control, his phone, his toothbrush, the book he’d been reading — all these items seemed to teleport as soon as he looked away, moving from the coffee table to the kitchen, from his nightstand to the living room, and so on. His instinctive explanation was that he misremembered where he’d put them, but it got harder to convince himself of that every time.

Also, he kept hearing strange noises. It sounded like the floor creaking softly under someone’s footsteps, sometimes like a door opening or closing. It was probably just the neighbors, but it always sounded too loud for that. Like it was a lot closer. It had been the worst for him in the first night he spend in the apartment. The fact that he kept thinking he was seeing shadows move around him also didn’t help. That was when he started wondering if Baekhyun had been right about the extent of his fear after all.

Another thing was that he kept getting startled by sudden sensations, like those he’d felt while cooking. He would suddenly feel something on his skin, like someone was touching him. It felt unmistakably vivid every time, yet was brief enough to leave him wondering whether it’d just been his imagination after all. And every time he’d immediately spin around and scan his surroundings, only to find nothing but the empty room staring back at him. It was somehow frustrating, never finding the cause. Did he want something to be there?

Kyungsoo had only been living in the apartment for three days and he was already starting to question his sanity. But he tried not to waste too much time thinking about it, like he’d promised himself. Not just because it felt so silly, but also because it made him uneasy. He didn’t believe in ghosts but… but what else could it be? Maybe he did miss having Baekhyun with him. Just a bit.

That night, Kyungsoo woke up and 03:01 AM shone on his digital alarm clock. Rain was violently pattering against the window and the faint moonlight tinted the room silver.

Without fully opening his eyes, he rolled over onto his side, one arm propped under his head. He felt heavy, like sleep would carry him off again at any moment. Normally he didn’t wake up in the middle of the night without a reason, but he was too tired to wonder why it had happened this time. He was so sleepy that it took him a moment to register the touch that grazed over his exposed leg, fingertips slowly rising further up from his knee. Something squeezed the back of his thigh.

Kyungsoo’s eyes flew open, alarms going off in his head, and he instinctively kicked back behind him. His heel collided with something. Something solid, like a man’s torso. He jumped off the bed, away from whatever had been behind him and turned around to face it. This was the first time he’d actually touched something physical when reaching out, it was not just a disembodied sensation. This time he might finally get an answer to his questions.

But there was nothing. Only his empty bed with tangled white sheets. The room was empty.

Kyungsoo was breathing heavily. He almost tripped over his own feet bent down to switch on the lamp on his nightstand. This extent of darkness normally wasn’t enough to scare him, but he’d really appreciate some extra light right now.

He sat down on the edge of the bed, taking a few seconds to catch his breath. He had clearly felt a cold, rough palm on his skin. Even though he’d been deep asleep just a minute ago, he was wide awake now. And he probably wouldn’t be able to fall asleep again any time soon. It had felt too real for him to believe it had just been his imagination. He knew there was this thing called sleep paralysis where people had hallucinations, but he hadn’t been paralyzed. So it had to be something else.

All the weird things he’d seen, heard or felt since moving in had to be related somehow. He couldn’t write them off as coincidences at this point, but that didn’t leave him with many pleasant options. Either, it was really just his imagination and nothing more, which would mean he was losing his mind for good. Or, something outside of him was causing these things. Something like an entity, like a ghost perhaps, haunting the apartment. That would at least explain it. The fact that he didn’t believe in ghosts seemed much less of an argument now that waves of adrenaline were still rushing through him.

But even if there was an actual, supernatural entity, that still left countless questions unanswered. Mostly, what did it wantfrom him? What would have happened if he hadn’t kicked it, if he had just let it continue and see what it had been trying to do? The idea made him shiver.

Kyungsoo sighed and ran a hand through his hair. There was no way he was just going to accept that there was a ghost in his apartment. Even just considering it was nothing but silly, if not downright pathetic.

Kyungsoo was abruptly pulled out of his thoughts and startled when a piercing, almost hysterical scream suddenly echoed through the apartment.

He definitely hadn’t imagined that. It’d been the voice of a woman, loud and clear. And she’d sounded terrified. Kyungsoo gulped. This wasn’t how people screamed when they got scared from something harmless like a cockroach or a spider. Judging from the volume, it couldn’t have been a neighbor or someone out on the street either, but someone in close proximity. Someone right on the other side of the wall.

For a few seconds, Kyungsoo was frozen with his hands clutching at his knees, unsure what to do. He didn’t have the faintest idea who that could’ve been or what could have possibly scared them that much. Frankly, he didn’t really want to know, either. He wasn’t made for things like his. Hell, he could barely make it through horror movies, so why did this have to happen to him out of all people?

His heart was beating like crazy. But he couldn’t run away or ignore what he’d heard. Even if he wasn’t the bravest person, he wasn’t going to let someone who sounded like they were in serious danger all by themselves. He had to do something.

So, although it felt like a terrible idea, he got up on wobbly legs and walked towards the living room where the scream must have come from. He tiptoed through the dim hallway as quickly as he could without making much sound, holding his breath the entire time. It made him uneasy how quiet everything was and he had already reached the door when it crossed his mind that maybe he should have grabbed something to use as a weapon. At this point, though, his curiosity was too strong and the adrenaline too suffocating for him to turn around again.

He threw the door open and immediately switched on the light, braced for the worst. In the lit up room, he finally understood. No one was there, and no one was getting murdered. It was just the television playing. The screen showed a man with an axe creepily limping through a dark hallway. It was some old slasher movie. So the scream must have just been one of the characters getting attacked.

Kyungsoo’s tense muscles finally relaxed in relief. He would’ve laughed at himself for not thinking of this earlier, only he didn’t find it amusing at all. He was definitely not in the mood to laugh, no matter how glad he was that he didn’t have to save someone from an axe murderer. But why was the TV even turned on in the first place? If it had been a ghost (which seemed less and less far-fetched, unfortunately), he’d certainly chosen a great channel to scare him. What a jerk. He reached for the remote and turned off the TV, leaving the room in silence again.

“I’m not afraid of you,” he said, but soon as he’d pronounced the words, he felt incredibly silly. Who was he even talking to? There was no one else but him in the room, for god’s sake! Maybe he really was going insane now.

The door to the hallway was closed when he turned around. He couldn’t remember doing that. As he approached it, the way there felt longer than it had before, anticipation building inside him. For what, he didn’t know. The moment his hand finally wrapped around the door knob, everything turned black.

The lights were off.

Kyungsoo’s heart dropped. He tried to yank the door open but it wouldn’t move. He pulled as hard as he could and shook the knob back and forth with all his strength, not caring that it might break. It didn’t work. It was locked.

It was so dark, much more than normal. He could barely make out the shape of the furniture around him. Someone must’ve drawn the curtains shut, not letting a single ray of moonlight illuminate the blackness he found himself in. His legs were trembling underneath him. He couldn’t see. Anything could be in the shadows.

Before he could begin to think about his next move, the light switched on again. And off again. On-off-on-off-on-off. The lights were quickly flickering like someone was playing with the switch, the apartment flashing in front of his eyes.

Kyungsoo felt light-headed from fear. This was different from all the previous little scares he’d had. This time it wasn’t just some silly object moving or a touch tracing his skin; this time it was inescapable and all around him. It was his worst phobia swallowing him whole. He banged on the door, pushing and pulling with his shoulder pressed against the wood. Still locked.

He rushed to the front door, almost collapsing into it, and tried to fumble for his keys. They were always on the dresser next to the door, that’s where he put them every time. But he only felt the bare wood under his palm. The fleeting seconds of light confirmed that they were not there. He tried wrenching the door open, but of course it was locked as well.

He was trapped.

Kyungsoo pressed his back against the door. Panic flooded his mind, making it hard to think. What was he supposed to do now? He sensed that something bad was going to happen. The flickering was making him feel dizzy. Light-dark-light-dark-light. And then it finally stopped.

Now it was just really, really dark. Pitch-black, at least as bad as the night the power had gone out at their old apartment. The floor seemed to sway under Kyungsoo’s soles. This was bad. He sank to the ground and hugged his knees to his chest, trying to hide inside of himself. Now he really wished Baekhyun was there with him, even if he’d laugh at him for being scared. This was basically his worst nightmare. Being trapped in a dark room with no escape. What was going to happen to him?

Kyungsoo remained like this for a few moments, hands pressed to his shins and his forehead resting on top of his knees with his eyes closed shut. He tried to calm himself down with slow, deep breaths. To him, it felt like several minutes passed by, thought it might have only been a few long seconds. It was the sound of footsteps that made him hold his breath and interrupt his steady rhythm.

Carefully, he opened his eyes to the shadowy room, holding back the sobs that were making their way up his dry throat. For some reason, it wasn’t as unbearably dark anymore. Moonlight was now coming in through the windows, enabling him to make out the outlines of his furniture. The dresser, the TV, the couch, his kitchen… Everything looked so normal and calm, it was as if nothing had even happened. There was nothing that could be the source of the footsteps. Was it all over?

Now that he could see again, his tense body started loosening a bit. He wiped his wet cheeks with the back of his hand, only now realizing that he’d started crying. He felt almost normal again, if a bit shaky. How embarrassing to just break down like that. He was a grown man! It had probably just been an issue with the lightbulb, nothing more. If anyone had seen him, they’d probably think he’d completely lost it. Had he?

“I scared you, huh?”

The deep voice made Kyungsoo jump to his feet, his back still pressed against the door in an attempt to back away as far as possible.

There was a man standing on the other side of the room, leaning against the wall by his shoulder. Had he already been there a second ago? He was tall with long legs, and the dim light was just enough for Kyungsoo to make out the contours of his face. He had full, plush lips and piercing eyes that were almost hypnotic. It took him a second to realize that the man wasn’t wearing a shirt, the moonlight falling directly on his skin. For a moment, Kyungsoo’s eyes fixated on the toned muscles and broad chest before moving up to meet his piercing gaze.

“Hi,” the stranger said slyly.

Kyungsoo needed a second to collect himself enough to react. This was definitely real now. This was the confrontation he had been waiting for. Though he hadn’t expected whatever had been doing all of this him to be this… breathtaking. At least it wasn’t some horrifying creature.

“Who are you?” Kyungsoo asked. His voice was barely above a whisper.

Suddenly, the man was standing only a few feet away from him. Kyungsoo startled and looked at the empty spot where he’d stood half a second ago. Had he just teleported?

The man took a step in his direction and Kyungsoo instinctively moved back the other way into the kitchen. Maybe it was just a trick of the light, but there seemed to be a hint of red in the other’s eyes, just a faint but visible twinkle. His breathing was accelerating again while his eyes quickly wandered over the room to find a way out. But with the doors locked, there was none. He couldn’t get away.

“My name’s Kai.” The man walked after him at a leisurely pace, his eyes never leaving him.

Kyungsoo tried to assess the situation. He had to do something now. Probably fight him, that was the only thing he could do. Only he was much smaller than the other. And a terrible fighter. He needed something to defend himself. Like a knife. That was it, he needed to get a knife from the kitchen! If he could overpower the other for just long enough, he might manage to get out of the apartment and call for help. His heart was racing. Could he do that?

But he backtracked again. He was getting ahead of himself. He didn’t even know why Kai was there in the first place. What did he even want? Was he a ghost? Was he planning to hurt him? What did he want?

With so many questions swirling through his mind, Kyungsoo didn't know where to start. All words seemed to escape him. Eventually, he murmured the most basic thing he could think of, still retreating carefully: “What are you?”

He flushed as he realized how laughable this question sounded and how meekly his voice had come out. It would be so much easier if he could come across as intimidating, but he knew he was anything but. The height-difference also didn’t help and he remembered what Baekhyun had said about him being an easy target.

Kai laughed, slowly coming to a standstill. “What do you think I am, Kyungsoo?”

Kyungsoo’s lower back hit the kitchen counter. With everything else that had happened so far, he was barely surprised that the other knew his name.

“Are you…?” the word was stuck in his throat.

“Hmm?” Kai raised an eyebrow. “You’re clever, aren’t you? I’m sure you’ve figured it out by now.”

Kyungsoo averted his gaze. He felt embarrassed pronouncing what he suspected. “Are you a ghost?”

Kai grinned. “Close. I’m a demon. An incubus to be exact.”

Kyungsoo gripped the cold counter behind him and looked back at Kai to make sure he wasn’t moving closer. Incubus didn’t sound any less scary to him, though he only vaguely knew what that even meant. In any case, it couldn’t be good. The other was standing with his hands in his pockets, looking Kyungsoo up and down.

“And why are you… here? I mean, what do you — what are you doing?” Kyungsoo stuttered. He hated how his knees were shaking.

Kai chuckled at his confusion. He drew closer but stopped when he saw Kyungsoo flinch in response. “I thought you said you weren’t scared of me.”

Kyungsoo opened his mouth to defend himself, but he didn’t know how to counter that. So he really had heard him, and probably seen his humiliating freak-out, too. That wouldn’t help him intimidate the other, either.

“But to answer your question,” Kai continued, his tone still smug and full of amusement. “I’m here because I own this place. This is my apartment.”

Kyungsoo met his gaze. Last time he’d checked, he had been the owner of this place. Or rather, his landlord, but that was besides the point. “Your apartment…?”

“Mhm, this is all mine. I’ve been haunting this place for a long time, much longer than you or the tenants before you. Even as a demon, I also have to live somewhere, you know. And mostly I’m just minding my business.” Kai explained. “But I don’t particularly like people invading my space, you know.” Kyungsoo lowered his eyes.

“So, when people try to move in here, I scare them. I just play a couple of tricks on them until they’re terrified and leave. It’s so easy to throw fully grown adults into panic, really. You just turn yourself invisible, flicker the lights and whisper a few ominous things to them. Most don’t last longer than a week,” he scoffed. “but it usually doesn’t take long until the next one shows up. Such a hassle. But what can you do?”

Kyungsoo thought back to the cheap rent that had rendered him so skeptical. So that was the reason. The problem wasn’t anything wrong with the facility. It was a literal demon chasing away all the tenants before him. The landlord probably had no idea but was maybe hoping that the affordable price would make him stay despite whatever had driven away his predecessors.

But how could Kai own this apartment? He probably didn’t even pay rent. Legally speaking, Kyungsoo had every right to live here. But there was no way he was going to argue with a demon. Who knew what he was capable of? All he wanted was to get away unharmed and if leaving this apartment was what it took, then so be it.

“Well, I’m sorry if I bothered you,” he mumbled, trying not to sound sarcastic. “Don’t worry, I’m not going to annoy you anymore, so just l-let me go. I would have left, if you hadn’t… locked the door and stuff.”

Instead of looking satisfied, Kai furrowed his brow. “Oh, no, no. I’m not trying to get rid of you, Kyungsoo.”

“But you just said—“

“You misunderstand me,” he said. “The people before you were just tiresome, which is why I got rid of them. But you don’t bother me. Quite the opposite. No, you…” He started slowly striding towards Kyungsoo, who’s eyes widened. “…I think you’re way too precious to just let go like that.”

Kyungsoo shivered at how low his voice had gotten at the last sentence. The rational part of his mind was screaming at him to get away, but his legs wouldn’t budge. Something about Kai was magnetic.

“Then why did you do all of these things to scare me? If you didn’t want me to leave?” He tried his best not to sound too fazed.

“Oh, I was just toying with you,” Kai purred, now standing very close to him. It was hard for Kyungsoo not to let his eyes graze over the toned body in front of him. The way his arms flexed with each movement did weird things to him, but he held back from staring for the sake of his already crumbling dignity.

“I didn’t even go full out on you, of course. I would never hurt such a pretty little thing,” his tone got more smug. “I just thought I’d have a little bit of fun with you. Just harmless fun.”

“Well, it wasn’t fun for me! I was scared and I really thought I was losing my mind.” Kyungsoo said, his newly found confidence immediately waning again when the other placed a hand on the counter next to him, towering over him.

Kai laughed. “I admit, I might have gone a bit far tonight, but it really wasn’t nice of you to just kick me like that, you know. Thought I’d teach you a little lesson.” He smirked. “But I thought it was time to formally introduce myself, before I actually drive you away by accident.”

Kyungsoo’s head was spinning from all the new information. His heart hadn’t stopped pounding, his body tense from apprehension. If anything, he was feeling even more nervous than before, though it felt slightly different now. He still had no idea what was happening or what the other was trying to get at.

“I-I still don’t think I understand.” He murmured. “What does all of this mean?”

Kai chuckled, leaning closer. “Why don’t you let me show you?”

He reached out to touch Kyungsoo’s hip, to which the other intuitively flinched away, alarm bells ringing in his head. He looked up at Kai uneasily, hands in front of his own chest, ready to defend himself if necessary.

“Don’t be so scared, I’m not trying to hurt you.” Kai moved closer.

Kyungsoo had to think quickly. He yanked open the kitchen drawer and groped for the first thing he could get his hands on, stumbling a few steps back. Since he couldn’t run away, he had to fight.

But he grew pale when he saw that the weapon he was holding out defensively in front of him was not a knife or even a fork but a plastic spatula.

Kai laughed. “What are you going to do with that?”

Kyungsoo blushed. “D-don’t come closer!” He brandished the tool in front of him, though his hands were shaking.

“Or what?” Kai raised an eyebrow. He advanced further, only an arm’s length away now.

Maneuvering out of the kitchen, Kyungsoo tried to come up with a way of getting out of this room, this apartment, but he knew he was trapped. Plus, he couldn’t think even straight, his mind clouded in fatigue, fear, confusion, and — strangely, excitement. Something in him just wanted to give in to whatever Kai was trying to do, partially out of exhaustion and partially out of an odd sense of curiosity. Because, although he knew he shouldn’t be feeling this way, Kai seemed to be luring him in with his deep voice, sculpted body and seductive aura.

“I’m not going to hurt you,” Kai repeated softly.

Kyungsoo kept backing away with small but quick steps until he bumped into the wall behind him. Kai instantly caged him with his body and he felt himself go weak all over. There was barely any resistance when Kai took the spatula from his hand and let it drop to the floor.

The demon chuckled. “You’re too cute.” He pinned Kyungsoo’s wrists above his head with surprisingly cold hands. There was a triumphant twinkle in his eyes as he met Kyungsoo’s gaze, who felt like his bones were melting away. Whatever this sensation was, it was starting to feel less like fear and more like anticipation. Kai leaned in and started kissing his neck, attacking the sensitive skin with impatient lips. Kyungsoo squirmed, eyes wide open. Half-heartedly he tried to free his hands but the grip around them was too firm, holding him in place. A moan slipped through his lips when Kai sucked the spot behind his ear.

“What are you doing?” He managed to say.

“You’re asking too many questions,” Kai muttered, pressing his large frame up against Kyungsoo’s smaller one. “I’m gonna make you feel so good, just let me.”

His heart was beating loudly in his chest as the demon kept working on his neck, biting and probably leaving marks on him. Kyungsoo whined weakly as if to protest, but it came out more like a moan. Should he be fighting back? He had been fearing that the other was going to do something sinister to him, but that didn’t seem to line up with his actions. Maybe he was telling the truth.

Kyungsoo gasped when Kai moved a leg between his thighs, rubbing against his groin. Being trapped against the wall, he couldn’t move away from the sensation. He closed his eyes and bit down on his lip, trying not to make any sounds that would give away how good it felt. He didn’t know what to do and adrenaline was clouding his senses. It made him feel… needy. Without realizing it he bucked his hips against the other’s solid thigh, gasping at the friction.

“Do you want me to stop?” Kai said against his neck.

Kyungsoo’s first thought was that he should probably jump on the opportunity and get away, because he was still a demon, no matter how unfairly attractive he was. That seemed like the rational thing to do. But he couldn’t bring himself to refuse him. It felt too good, and Kai was just too irresistible. Kyungsoo wanted to surrender. He wanted him to continue, wanted more

He shook his head. “Don’t stop,” he said, voice barely more than a whisper.

“Already giving in, hm?” Kai teased. His mouth moved up Kyungsoo’s throat, nibbling at his jaw before claiming his lips in a greedy kiss, devouring the smaller’s whimpers as he ravished his plump lips. Kyungsoo let him take the lead, welcoming his tongue in his mouth and Kai groaned as if satisfied, deepening the kiss. Maybe he was stupid for trusting him, but the thrill felt too good and his fears started seeming more and more irrational next to the demon’s sensual actions.

When they pulled away, Kai released his wrists and cupped his face with one big hand, looking down at him with an intensity that made his face heat up. He hummed as he began caressing Kyungsoo’s lip with his thumb. The slight shade of red in his otherwise black irises was now clearly visible. Kyungsoo found it oddly beautiful, even if it freaked him out a bit.

“Drives me insane,” Kai murmured, gaze slowly wandering from his lips up to his eyes. “How fucking pretty you are.”

Kyungsoo shivered at the deep rumble of his voice, not knowing what to reply.

“Ever since you moved in, all I could think about was how much I wanted to get my hands on you. You’re so damn irresistible, walking around half-naked and all, not even realizing how much you tempt me.” Kai said harshly. “I don’t want to hold back anymore. I’ve waited long enough, no?”

Kyungsoo gulped and nodded. He wanted it, he wanted Kai all over him, doing whatever he wanted. The idea alone made him weak in the knees, his fear long pushed aside by impatience.

Kai pushed his thumb forward into Kyungsoo’s mouth, pressing it against his tongue. Kyungsoo didn’t need to be told to start sucking. Submitting to him came naturally.

“So eager, and I haven’t even gotten started,” Kai chuckled darkly. “I’m gonna wreck you so bad.”

The words sent a wave of arousal through Kyungsoo. He let out a small whine in response.

“Would you like that?” Kai purred. “I bet you would. Bet you’d let me completely ruin you and love every second of it.”

Kyungsoo nodded slowly, head spinning.

“Good boy.”

Kai shoved both hands underneath his t-shirt, palms exploring the soft skin. Kyungsoo hissed when his nipples were rubbed and pinched, gripping Kai’s biceps to steady himself even though he was still tightly pressed up against the wall behind him. Had he always been this sensitive? Kai felt him up shamelessly, hands roaming all over and he bit his lip in a failed attempt to contain a moan when one of his hands moved between his legs to take hold of his cock.

“You’re so hard for me already.” Kai said against his ear, stroking him through the thin fabric of his pajama pants. “Tried acting all hard to get, yet you secretly need it this badly.”

Kyungsoo flushed, unable to stop the string of whimpers escaping from his lips, his head falling back against the wall as Kai palmed his dick. The words excited him as much as they embarrassed him.

The incubus hoisted him up by his thighs, which Kyungsoo immediately wrapped around his torso. Kai re-connected their lips and kissed him feverishly, sucking on his lips and tongue with Kyungsoo’s fingers tangling in his hair. Kyungsoo tried to grind down on him but was pinned firmly against the wall for Kai to thrust against his clothed ass instead. Gasping against the other’s mouth, he realized that Kai wasn’t going to let him take control in even the smallest way.

Kyungsoo’s cock brush against his hard stomach with each movement of the latter’s hips, making him groan and push his hips out as much as he could. He needed more. “Kai, please.” He breathed against the other’s lips.

The demon chuckled. “Please what? What should I do to you, baby?”

Slightly embarrassed about his own desperation, he glanced up at him through his eyelashes. He found it difficult to focus enough to even form a cohesive sentence with Kai’s dick rubbing over his hole over and over through their pants. He hated to admit it but he’d probably let him do just about anything to him.

“Hmm?”, Kai hummed against his ear and made Kyungsoo shudder when he nibbled at it. “Tell me what you want and I’ll give it to you.”

“Please… ah…”, he averted his gaze. He couldn’t believe he was about to say this. “Please fuck me.”

That was all it took for Kai to tighten the grip on his thighs and carry him through the hallway to the bedroom, assaulting his neck with his teeth the entire time. He threw Kyungsoo down on the bed and immediately crawled over him, the mattress bouncing under them as he tore off the smaller’s shirt. The cold air hitting his skin made his nipples perk up and Kai instantly latched onto it with his hot mouth, sucking on sensitive bud in between soft bites while he squeezed the other one between his fingers. Kyungsoo moaned half in pain, half in pleasure, holding onto Kai’s shoulders for his dear life.

Both of Kai’s hands moved between Kyungsoo’s plump thighs, stroking them dangerously close to his throbbing arousal and feeling up the soft skin. Kyungsoo felt himself shudder, his body leaning into the touch, melting under it.

“Mhm… hurry up. Please.” he panted.

He hissed at the bite that Kai left on his nipple before releasing it and looking up at him. His eyes were dangerously dark and hypnotic. “So impatient,” he growled, one hand leaving Kyungsoo’s thigh to slither up his torso instead, slowly. “A few minutes ago you were trying to run away and now you’re already begging for me like a little slut.”

Kyungsoo drew in a breath, flushing, and hoped the other hadn’t noticed how his cock twitched at the degrading words. Kai’s hand reached his throat and clutched it with just the right firmness. “Don’t worry, I’ll fuck you. I’ll fuck you so good.” He pressed down a bit more, fingers digging into his skin. “But I’m not quite done having fun with you yet. And you’re gonna be a good boy and let me savor you.”

The grasp around Kyungsoo’s throat tightened, limiting his breathing as if to warn him not to disobey. He nodded weakly, his mind slightly hazy. He couldn’t say he didn’t like it. “Yes.” He whispered.

Kai let go of him and leant back, kneeling on the bed in front of him. “Turn around. I want you on all fours.”

Kyungsoo complied, though his legs were shaky. Kai pulled down Kyungsoo’s pants and immediately ran a rough palm over his exposed cheeks. Kyungsoo blushed, embarrassed at being so exposed, yet the thought that the other could just do anything to him was strangely thrilling and had him bite down on his lip in anticipation.

“Good boy,” Kai hummed, the smirk audible in his voice. He kneaded his ass with both hands, feeling the fullness under his palms, his fingers stroking along the edge of Kyungsoo’s crack, almost touching his hole. Kyungsoo let his head drop, wiggling under Kai’s gropes. He tried to push his hips back against the other but froze with a surprised yelp at the sudden slap on back of his thigh.

“You’re not gonna move without my permission. Understood?” Kai said lowly.

“I’m s-sorry— ah…”

Another smack caught him off guard. Kyungsoo shuddered and resisted the urge to squirm when Kai, almost soothingly, rubbed over the burning skin he’d slapped.

Kai moved over him, trapping him under his body, his broad chest pressed to Kyungsoo’s back as he sucked hickeys into the his nape. Kyungsoo felt so small under his bigger body, encaged by his broad arms and almost unable to move. Something about it made him so eager so be obedient, to submit. He figured he was definitely glad he hadn’t run out of the apartment.

He let out a gasp when Kai began stroking his cock with feather-light, tantalizing motions. He mustered all his strength to not thrust forward to get more friction. He wanted to be good for him.

“You’re so sensitive, aren’t you? Trembling like that” Kai said darkly, his lips grazing the back of Kyungsoo’s ear as he spoke.

He left a trail of kisses down his back, never ceasing to tease his cock. Kyungsoo was releasing shaky breaths with each touch of his lips on his skin. He didn’t realize he had been bucking his hips until another slap on his ass forced a startled moan out of him.

“I thought I’d told you to stay still?” Kai emphasized his words by harshly thumbing the tip of his dick, suddenly applying pressure. Kyungsoo mewled out an apology as he clasped the sheets in a tight grip, trying to steady himself and comply with the command.

The next thing he felt was a warm kiss on his hip and he let out a gasp, knees feeling weak when Kai spread his cheeks apart with both hands, exposing his most vulnerable spot to him. Kai's hot breath against his hole made him flush so much he wouldn’t be surprised if the other could feel his body heat up.

Fuck, look at you. So pretty and fuckable,” Kai said.

Kyungsoo whimpered, burying his face into the pillow in embarrassment.

Kai chuckled before pressing his open mouth to the rim. Without giving the smaller time to catch his breath, he licked it over with a broad stroke of his tongue, holding a firm grip on Kyungsoo so he couldn’t squirm under the contact.

Kyungsoo choked out helpless moans, fisting the sheets as Kai continued to eat him out. He was embarrassed at how loud he was already, but it felt so good it was almost cruel. He tried to push his hips back, do anything to get more, but Kai wouldn’t let him, holding him in place to lap at him as he pleased.

“Kai, please, ahh—”

Eventually, he increased the speed of his tongue and Kyungsoo’s arms gave out at that, making him fall forward onto the mattress. A string of barely comprehensible pleas and whines spilled from his lips, not even knowing what he was saying. All he could think of was Kai’s tongue that brushed over his hole again and again, shamelessly indulging in him like he was the most delicious thing the other had ever tasted.

Kai’s hand wrapped around Kyungsoo’s leaking member again, stroking him in sync with the motions of his tongue. Kyungsoo writhed under him only to get another slap on his thigh, reminding him that he still wasn’t allowed to move. It was almost too much, he felt like he was drowning in pleasure, completely defenseless as the other’s tongue scraped against his rim, slowly entering him. He sobbed out Kai’s name while the latter thrust his tongue in and out of him, palming his cock simultaneously.

“I-I’m gonna cum,” Kyungsoo moaned, thighs trembling violently, trying their best to hold him steady. He barely even registered what he was doing when he desperately shoved his ass back against the warm tongue to get that tiny last bit friction that would push him over the edge.

But Kai pulled away from him just then, removing his hand from his still throbbing cock, so close yet so far from release. Kyungsoo choked out a sob.

“Please…” he whimpered powerlessly.

“You’re not gonna cum until I say so,” Kai snarled. He slapped Kyungsoo’s ass so hard he must’ve left a mark. The latter bit down on his tongue to stop himself from letting out a moan, hips almost toppling over to one side from the force of it.

“Can’t even hold still for me, huh?” Another slap. “Bet you like getting spanked like this, is that it? Are you misbehaving on purpose, you little slut?” He sounded more taunting than angry, as if amused by Kyungsoo whimpering in humiliation.

“N-no, I’m sorry,” he mewled, quickly shaking his head. “I-I just couldn’t help myself, it felt so good.”

He heard Kai chuckle behind him and a jolt of electricity shot through him when he pressed his thumb to his hole, making him squirm. “So sensitive. What am I gonna do with you?”
Kyungsoo felt like he would go insane if the other didn’t fuck him already. Kai slowly circled his rim but didn’t push past it, tormenting him on purpose.

“Please, I need you so bad… stop teasing me.” His voice was almost a whisper.

Kai smacked his buttocks again. “You don’t get to make any demands here. I’m gonna take you at whatever pace I please.” He withdrew his thumb and instead caressed the other’s quivering thighs with his palms and Kyungsoo involuntarily let out a whine.

“You’re so fucking needy. I think I should punish you, no?”

Kyungsoo couldn’t reply before he was grabbed by his hair and pulled towards Kai so that he was turned around on his hands and knees, now facing the other’s groin. He gulped as he looked up, eyes locking with Kai’s. His gaze was almost predatory in how hungrily he was eyeing him.

Kai unbuckled his belt and pulled down his pants, cock springing free. Kyungsoo couldn’t help his mouth falling slightly open at the sight. He didn’t know what he’d expected, but Kai was enormous. Probably the biggest he’d ever seen outside of over-exaggerated porn videos. It was thick with prominent veins, standing dark and almost fully erect already. The thought of having it inside of him, no matter in what hole, nearly made his mouth water in anticipation. He had never felt this slutty for anyone before.

Kai chuckled at his poorly concealed excitement. He guided his dick towards the other’s lips, holding him back by his hair so he couldn’t take him into his mouth yet. Kyungsoo just wanted to wrap his lips around him, taste every inch of him, but by now he knew better than to do that without the incubus’ explicit permission.

“Beg.” Kai tightened the grip on his hair.

Kyungsoo chewed on his lip. “Please, let me suck you off, please, I want your cock in my mouth, I need it so much. Please, Kai.” His face burned in embarrassment at the words spilling from his lips. They had come out before he could even consider what he was saying. Maybe because, at this point, he wasn’t thinking with his brain anymore anyway.

“Good boy.” Kai tugged Kyungsoo’s head forward. “Open.”

Kyungsoo gladly obliged, opening his mouth to engulf Kai’s cock slowly, savoring every inch on his tongue. He had never felt this desperate to suck dick in his life, so he barely gave himself time to adjust before he started bobbing his head, sucking the other eagerly.

Kai let out a groan above him, which made Kyungsoo swell with pride, wanting to make him feel good. He drew his tongue along the underside of his cock, moaning around him as he moved up and down on his length. He loved how heavy and hot he felt inside his mouth, and how the other’s breathing hitched when as he moved up and down, letting him know he was doing a good job.

Fisting Kyungsoo’s hair, Kai pushed himself further into his mouth and the smaller gagged as he hit the back of his throat. His eyes filled with tears but he went along with it, determined to be good for Kai, to let him take everything he could give. He swallowed almost all of him, spurred on by the way his thick cock was throbbing on his tongue. Picking up his pace, he looked up at Kai, his own member twitching at the lustful expression on his face. He whimpered as he gagged again, the cockhead nudging his velum.

Kai slowly pulled him off of his dick until only the head was left between Kyungsoo’s plump lips. The latter looked up at him with pleading eyes.

“You have no idea how pretty you look right now.” Kai groaned. “Gonna fuck your face now, baby. Can you take it for me like a good little slut?”

Kyungsoo moaned in response. Hell yes. He wanted to please him so bad. Kai gave a satisfied grin before he pulled Kyungsoo back onto his cock until it was all the way in. Kyungsoo was struggling for oxygen as Kai began thrusting, his cock forced down his throat. He built up a near brutal pace, burying his dick deep in his mouth and Kyungsoo somehow loved every second of it, even with tears running down his flushed cheeks and his throat tightening. There was just something in the way the other was just using him that excited him to no end.

Kai never took his eyes off the way his cock slid in and out from between Kyungsoo’s plump lips, a sly smirk adorning his lips. “You’re taking me so well. So good. My little cockslut.”

Kyungsoo was too out of it to respond with anything but a breathless whine around his dick. Drool was running down his chin by now and his hands clawed vainly at the mattress underneath him as Kai snapped his hips relentlessly. He felt dizzy and unbearably turned on. His own cock was aching to be touched but he didn’t want to disobey.

All of a sudden, Kai pulled out of him, still holding his hard dick in front of his mouth that was hanging open, urging him to thrust back in.

“Shit, that was so hot, baby.” Kai said. “But I’m still not done with you.”

Kyungsoo was pushed down so he was lying on his back again, Kai hovering over him and letting his heated gaze wander over the smaller’s exposed body. Kyungsoo spread his legs in spite of his embarrassment, inviting Kai to kneel between his thighs.

The demon reached for his belt lying next to them on the bed and held Kyungsoo’s wrists together over his head before tightening the leather around them, tying him up. He smirked and traced the curve of Kyungsoo’s neck with his lips. “Since you can’t hold still,” he said, amusement dripping from his voice.

Kyungsoo nodded, still feeling a bit hazy. A half-hearted wriggle of his arms confirmed that he was unable to free his hands, leaving him completely defenseless. He didn’t dislike it, as long as Kai stopped teasing and just took him now. But it seemed like the other’s patience was also wearing out.

Kai dragged his hands down over the other's body at a painfully slow pace, leaving goosebumps on the smooth skin. Kyungsoo arched his back against the touch, not caring how desperate he looked.  His thighs were parted even more and his knees pressed against his chest, folding his petite body in half. Kai leaned over him, one hand resting next to his head to hold while the other suddenly shoved a finger into him without a warning, not stopping until it was in knuckle-deep. The intrusion was sudden and Kyungsoo bit his lip as Kai thrust into him. The second finger followed only after a few moments and he hissed at the sharp pain.

“You’re so fucking tight,” Kai groaned against his collarbone. “God, I just know you’re gonna feel so good around my cock.”

Kyungsoo moaned at the words, nodding mindlessly. Kai kept thrusting, impatiently working him open. A curl of his finders made Kyungsoo arch his back as he massaged his prostate.

A third finger was soon pushed into him, still upholding the same eager rhythm. Kyungsoo winced but he barely registered the sting because it was drowned out by the heat building inside of him. He was letting out little ahs every time Kai jabbed against his sweet spot, holding his legs open as far as he could to invite him to do more, to not hold back.

Kai withdrew his fingers abruptly and climbed off of him. Kyungsoo was one second away from complaining when he saw him open the drawer on his nightstand and pull out a bottle of lube. For a moment he wondered how he’d known it was in there, but then again he was about to be fucked by a demon, so maybe that should not be the thing that surprised him.

With half-lidded eyes he watched how Kai moved back between his legs and poured lube on his hand. He spread it slowly on his cock, stroking himself in the process with the clear intention to tease him even more. Kyungsoo couldn’t tear his gaze away from the other’s large, calloused hand moving up and down on his girthy cock. He was aching to feel him.

Letting out a needy whine, he pushed his hips towards the other, his own dick pulsating angrily. “Kai,” he cried. “Please.”

Kai groaned. “Fucking hell, you don’t know what you do to me.”

He finally positioned his cock in front of Kyungsoo’s rim, making him in anticipation when he gripped his hip to hold him in place. Not giving him any more time to brace himself, Kai started pushing all of his considerable length into him.

Kyungsoo let out an unsteady sigh, his tied hands balling into little fists. The stretch hurt a lot, especially after such a long time since last being penetrated, but the delicious way Kai’s cock rubbed up against his walls made up manageable.

For a few moments, Kai stilled, giving Kyungsoo time to adjust. He pressed their lips together in the meantime and kissed him greedily with one hand placed firmly on his jaw. His other hand squeezed Kyungsoo’s soft hip in a way that felt as easing as it felt possessive.

Breaking the kiss, Kai pulled out almost completely out of Kyungsoo before ramming back into him with full force. His thrusts started out slow but hard and Kyungsoo threw his head back with a hiss. It still stung, but the pain was already starting to fade with each thrust. His exposed neck was attacked by unforgiving lips, open-mouthed kisses turning into bites as Kai began snapping his hips more rapidly. Not a trace of gentleness or mercy was left in him as he pounded the pliant body beneath him and everything around Kyungsoo was starting to blur except for the way Kai was tearing into him, his mind becoming clouded in arousal.

“You look so gorgeous right now, baby.” Kai said in between pants. “So good for me.”

He gave Kyungsoo a quick peck on the lips, continually abusing his hole with hard, deep thrusts. A lewd moan escaped Kyungsoo, turned on by the praise. He wanted to be good, make him feel good, wanted Kai to use him as much as he wanted. He wrapped his les around the demon’s torso to bring him closer.

The new angle made Kai hit his prostate thrust and Kyungsoo sobbed, mouth falling open. Noticing the reaction, Kai kept slamming his hips the same way, assaulting the smaller’s sweet spot each time. Kyungsoo felt unbearably sensitive all over, his entire body quivering. He was a mess, his hair tangled and cheeks flushed a pretty pink, whimpering each time the other thrust into him. It was almost too much for his body to take.

“Such a good little slut. You really were made to take my cock, hm?” Kai groaned with a particularly sharp thrust. “You love getting fucked by me, don’t you?”

Kyungsoo nodded, maybe a bit too enthusiastically, letting out a high-pitched moan he would’ve been embarrassed about had he been in a more sober state of mind. Kai pulled one of his legs over his shoulder, chest pressed against the back of his thigh, so he reached even deeper angle, driving his cock directly into his prostate with each jerk of his hips.

“Oh, god,” Kyungsoo cried. The sensation was overwhelming, making him curl his toes and close his eyes shut for a second. The other really had meant it when he’d said he’d wreck him. He tugged at the restraints around his wrists, needing to hold onto something. Kai grabbed the underside of his raised thigh, holding him in place as he thrust into Kyungsoo’s tight heat, creating lewd, wet noises that were mostly drowned out by the smaller’s high-pitched moans.

Kyungsoo felt his climax nearing, heat building up in his tightening abdomen. “Kai,” he whimpered. “I—I want to cum.”

Kai leaned down until his body was almost completely pressed against Kyungsoo’s, nearly folding the ladder in half. His lower stomach rubbed against Kyungsoo’s cock as he thrust. The friction made Kyungsoo mewl and buck his hips. It was so good but not enough. He needed more.

“Be a good boy and beg for it.” Kai said lowly into his ear, rolling his hips into him, slightly slower now to tease him.

“Ahh— Please. Please let me cum,” Kyungsoo’s nails were digging into his own palms. “Please, ahh, Kai.“

He whimpered breathlessly when Kai’s hand wrapped around his member and began jerking him off. A tear rolled down his cheek and his mouth dropped open at the sensation. It was too much, the tightness in his core was becoming unbearable and he shut his eyes. He was so, so close.

“Cum for me, baby.” Kai whispered, pressing his thumb to his leaking tip.

That was all it took to push Kyungsoo over the edge, completely taken over by the arousal flooding him. He arched his back as he came, weakly sobbing out Kai’s name.

But he didn’t get the chance to catch his breath. Kai didn’t slow down, still deep in a frenzy. He tightened his grip on the smaller’s thigh and continued to hammer his hips into his clenching hole at the same animalistic pace, chasing his own release. Kyungsoo whined, his body trembling from overstimulation.

“You feel so fucking good.” Kai growled.

Kyungsoo was taken aback when their eyes locked. Kai’s gaze was so intense and lustful, and almost entirely black. He looked quite literally demonic in that moment. The deep darkness seemed to stare directly into him and somehow drew him in at the same time. Kyungsoo shuddered.

Kai only lasted a few more thrusts before he came, panting as his cum dripped out of Kyungsoo’s spasming hole.

For a few seconds, the demon breathed heavily into his nape, giving both of them time to calm down. Kyungsoo closed his eyes. He was lightheaded, his pulse loud in his ears and his body felt weightless from exhaustion. As his breathing slowed down, he smiled to himself. He thought back to how freaked out he’d been earlier, how much the flickering lights and sudden darkness had scared him. It felt like so much time had passed since, even though it couldn’t have been more than an hour ago. This was definitely not how he would have expected this night to end when he’d been crouching on the floor sobbing. No matter how strange it was, though, it was definitely a nice end to this tumultuous night.

Kai propped himself up on his arms again and grinned down at Kyungsoo, cupping his burning cheek in his palm.

“How do you feel?” he asked, his tone both cocky and, unexpectedly, caring.

Kyungsoo gulped, suddenly feeling shy. “That was… really good” he replied softly.

Kai hummed in agreement, lips curling into a small smirk.

“But, uhm, would you mind untying me, please?” Kyungsoo asked awkwardly, lifting his arms to bring attention to his still restrained hands.

“Oh, right.” Kai laughed before he unfastened the belt for him to slip his hands out of it. Kyungsoo rubbed his numb wrists while Kai got up from the bed and disappeared into the backroom to come back with two fresh towels. He cleaned them both up before lying down next to the smaller, pulling the blanket over their bodies. The small act of care surprised Kyungsoo a bit and he gave a tired smile. Kai might be a demon, but he seemed more than alright.

For a split second, there was a little awkwardness hanging in the air between them, until Kai put an arm over Kyungsoo’s shoulder and drew him closer so he could snuggle into his chest, which he did with only a bit of bashful reluctance. He felt so warm and cozy that he closed his eyes almost involuntarily.

“Feel comfortable?” Kai said, an audible smile in his voice.

Kyungsoo nodded. “Yes.”

The other chuckled above him. “Bet you feel really silly now for panicking so much earlier, huh?”

Kyungsoo opened his eyes again to look up at Kai. He chewed on his inner cheek as he thought back to his embarrassing burst into panic and to how clumsily he had tried to defend himself against an imaginary threat. It did seem silly in retrospect, but it wasn’t like he hadn’t had his reasons.

“Well, of course I was scared!”, he insisted. “Obviously I’m gonna be scared when a literal demon just shows up in the middle of the night. You were really mean, honestly. But I’m sorry I kicked you. And tried to attack you with a spatula.”

Kai laughed. “No worries, you weren’t that intimidating. Maybe I should be the one apologizing for scaring you?”

“Maybe you should.” Kyungsoo agreed. He yelped when Kai suddenly pinched his buttock.

“Don’t think I will, though. You were just too cute, baby. I couldn’t resist teasing you.”.

Kyungsoo glared at him, only to receive a grin in response. He was pulled even closer to Kai so their bodies were firmly pressed together. He sighed and rested his forehead against the other’s chest. The steady rhythm Kai’s breathing had a soothing effect on him, tiredness washing over him again. They didn’t say anything for a minute or two and Kyungsoo had almost drifted off to sleep when Kai spoke up.

“So, now that you know the truth about the apartment and… me being here,” he began hesitantly. “Are you going to move out again?”

Kyungsoo looked up at him and was surprised to see uncertainty in the other’s expression. He hadn’t even thought that far yet. “Do you want me to?”

Kai absentmindedly stroked through Kyungsoo’s hair. “As I said, I’m not trying to get rid of you. I don’t mind having you here. I’m just asking because, from my experience, most people don’t appreciate having to share their apartment with a demon.”

“Maybe because you literally bullied them.”

“That’s besides the point.” Kai chuckled. “So?”

Kyungsoo laughed. “I can’t say I enjoyed those tricks you played on me. But now that I know I’m not going insane and that you’re not trying to kill me… I don’t mind having you around, either. Plus, you know, this apartment is really nice.” He added quickly.

“So you’ll stay here?”

He contemplated it for a moment. Maybe his mind was still in a bit of a haze, but he wanted to say yes. It might be irrational, but he didn’t care. He didn’t feel any urgency to leave this place and, besides, there was no way he’d say no to to Kai after all that. “If you don’t keep playing tricks, I might consider.”

“But they’re too much fun. You’ll have to put of with some.” Kai insisted teasingly.

Kyungsoo rolled his eyes, but he couldn’t help the corners of his lips curling into a smile when the other tilted his face up by his chin. “Fine. I’ll stay for now.” Now that he knew that it was just Kai playing around, encountering sudden physical impossibilities wouldn’t startle him as much anyway.

“Good,” Kai grinned. “Because I’m planning to do this more often.”

Kyungsoo wasn’t too sure if he was talking about the cuddling or… what had just happened. But he nodded, because he liked both.

He smiled up at the other. “Well, it’s your apartment. You can do whatever you want.”
