Seeds of Hope

Summary:

Lily Robertson is a good girl. She gets good grades, she volunteers and participates in almost everything. She was her parents' golden child until she met him. Kal. The young man that breathed fire into her soul like nothing else had ever.

Some may say he was her downfall from grace but nothing could be further than the truth as their growing relationship sparks hope into her even in times of chaos and uncertainty.

Notes:

So this takes place early season 3, lots of canon events will change. Lily (my OC who may or may not be based on a fem!Harry Potter fic I'm writing)and Clark/Kal meet very early in his stay in Metropolis and it changes the course of events drastically. Chloe never meets him in the club thus doesn't know his location and can't spill the beans. This fic is very self-indulgent and is being written purely for the teen/family drama.tt

Chapter Text

Music blared as the crowd seemed to grow thicker around Lily as she tried to navigate her way through the club, searching for her sister. The club scene wasn’t Lily’s usual crowd but tonight she wanted to be someone else, someone fun who didn’t care about the rules. But first she needed to find her older sister because as much as Lily wanted to let go, she knew she wouldn’t until she found her wildcard of a sister.

Finally she spotted her at the bar flirting with a tall muscular back. Lily approached cautiously, unsure if she should interrupt or not. The choice is taken away from her however when the man turns around and looks directly at her, his bright blue gaze shocks something in Lily that she didn’t know she had. Lust.

His gaze is intense and Lily can’t help but frown at his cocky smirk. Laura, her sister, doesn’t seem too bothered by the shift in attention when she spots who his gaze had focused on. Her sister’s own cocky smirk makes an appearance and turns the slight downturn of Lily’s plush lips into a full blown scowl.

“You know she’s recently single and definitely up for a rebound,” Laura chimes. The man or boy, since he doesn’t seem to be much older than Lily herself, hums an affirmative.

“You don’t say?” his cocky smirk only grows and he doesn’t take his eyes off her even though he’s clearly talking to her sister. Maybe clubbing with her crazy sister wasn’t such a good idea but it was too late to back out now. The stranger slams his drink down on the counter and grabs one of her hands.

“Let’s dance!” he shouts over the ever increasing volume of the music and drags her off to the masses of writhing bodies. Strong hands guide her to the beat of the music, his hands dipping low on her hips as they move together.

He’s handsome in a way that seems otherworldly, his strong jaw and bright blue eyes make her head feel dizzy in a way she can’t blame on the few drinks she had. It doesn’t take him long to sweet talk her into going home with him. In hindsight it had been unbearably easy on his part.

When they’re at his place they don’t talk much, they properly exchange names. His name is Kal, and eventually he asks her why she was at the club and Lily decides to be honest, not skirting on the truth to save her pride.

“My boyfriend and I just broke up, we were together for a few years and he ended it by banging my best friend. I guess it’s my own fault though, I wanted to wait because I wanted our first time to be special and I thought he was fine with that but apparently not.” Kal’s face seems to soften a bit, some of his edge disappearing for a minute as he tucks a strand of hair behind Lily’s ear.

“It wasn’t your fault. Your boyfriend was a dick and so was your friend. There’s nothing wrong with wanting your first time to be memorable,” he finishes his last sentence with a flirty smirk, his eyes seemingly darker than before.

“I wanted it to be special… I’m not so sure about that now though,” she says, flushed red.

“It can still be special, just because it’s not with someone like him doesn’t mean it can’t still be special,” he dips down to whisper in her ear. He so much closer now. So close Lily can see the little specks of green in eyes she thought were solid blue. He’s perfection, maybe they didn’t need to be close for them to have something special.

“I…I think you’re right,” she closes the distance between them, finally meeting his lips with her own. His lips are smooth and his kisses experienced. His hands grab her waist and he hoists her up, he’s incredibly strong as he seems to keep her up effortlessly, never breaking the kiss as he carries her to his bed.

He lays her down surprisingly gentle even as his kisses become more heated and his hands rougher as he starts to get worked up. Everything seems to speed up and all Lily can feel, see and taste is Kal. She is surrounded by his much larger frame. He’s careful with her much more delicate body as he strips her bare and takes what he pleases. They don’t quite make love but it’s certainly not the dirty fuck you’d expect from a one night stand. It’s kind of perfect in the way that it’s neither, it’s surprisingly intimate in the way they seems to fit perfectly together and seem to meet each thrust and kiss together. Always connected.

It’s not at all what Lily expected her first time to be like but it also blows her expectations out the window. It’s amazing how in sync they are as pleasure explodes behind her eyes again and again, and after what seems like hours he slows down. Not long after she falls asleep curled up on his chest.

The next morning she wakes up alone in his bed, it’s not like Lily expected breakfast in bed but she didn’t think he’d leave her alone in his apartment. After a quick look around all she finds is a note addressed to her and what she assumes is his cell number. Unsure what to do next Lily dresses hurriedly, pocketing his number before doing the dreaded walk of shame home.

Home is in uptown Metropolis, the penthouse apartment of Grant and Jane Robertson, Lily’s parents, who are thankfully on some kind of business trip in Star City. Her walk of shame doesn’t go unnoticed though because waiting for her in the kitchen is Laura with a giant shit eating grin.

“So how was tall dark and handsome?”

“None of your business is what he is,” Lily hissed.

“Come on, you never do dumb shit, let me gloat and as the one who indirectly introduced you I need details,” Laura reasoned.

“Fine,” said Lily, she couldn’t help the small smile that graced her face “, his name is Kal and he was amazing.” Lily paused unsure how to continue. “He doesn’t talk much, especially about himself but I have this feeling there’s more to him than the guy I met last night.”

“Ooh, mysterious, are you going to see him again?”

“I’m not sure but I hope so,” Lily answered.

“Now for the most important question,” Laura said mock seriously, “how big was he?!”

“Laura!” Lily shrieked as her sister burst out laughing. Laura continued to pester her with silly and personal questions for the next hour before she grew bored and waltzed off to go bother their brother instead. With a sigh, Lily happily retired to her room for the rest of the day.
