Work Text:
Phone privileges have become one of Jiwoong’s favorite rewards.
A reward from all the loops he and the other trainees have gone through to make it up to where they are now. There’s a lot Jiwoong has to sacrifice as a trainee, but little moments like these that he may have taken granted before are ones he’s grown to cherish.
It’s rare when they get to make calls to their loved ones nowadays, mostly focusing on their goal; to debut and become the next big idol, but everyone needs something, or rather
someone
to revive them every once in a while.
In Jiwoong’s case, of course it’d be Seobin.
“It’s been forever,” Jiwoong groans, one arm folded under his chin and the other keeping the phone up. “I’ve missed your voice, your face, your kisses–”
“Hyung,”
Seobin’s voice cracks through the phone, eyes flickering away from the camera shyly. Jiwoong loves him so, so much he wishes he could just reach through the phone and hug him. But alas, Facetime will have to do. “I’ll give you all the love you deserve when you're done with the competition.”
An unsaid promise that Jiwoong looks forward to. He knows all the effort and nights spent without Seobin will be worthwhile if his end goal is to come true. At the end of his goal either way Seobin will be there with open arms.
“You’ve been doing such an amazing job hyung,” Seobin praises, eyes alight with honesty. “I can tell how much you put into singing, dancing and guiding your team.”
To know that Seobin’s been watching him perform makes his heart stutter, fondness overtaking him, had he been there he would have hugged him and dragged him down onto the bed with him. To have Seobin’s support means the world to him, he can’t help but grin at the younger.
“Like what you see?” Jiwoong laughs at the affectionate eyeroll he gets– and yeah, he deserves that for the cheesy line, but it’s never a dull moment teasing Seobin.
“Obviously,” Seobin mumbles. “You’ve been getting pretty close with your teammates,
very
close, you better not be kissing anyone else.”
Seobin crosses his arms in mock anger, and oh, he is definitely the cutest person alive. “Only you,” Jiwoong swears, cross his heart and hope to die. He’d never dream of it. “I could use a boost though.”
“A boost?” Seobin echoes with a raised brow, confusion written on his face. “What can I help you with, hyung?”
“Can you send me your love?” Jiwoong asks softly, pleading with eyes full of mirth. “It’d really push me to perform better..”
Skeptical, Seobin stares silently, hesitant on what to do or say. A beat goes by before, “Like a love letter?”
He’s adorable, absolutely precious. It makes him want to protect every inch of Seobin, bundle him up and keep him close. He has the cutest boyfriend in the world. “I meant, more like some affectionate gestures,” He makes a show of giving Seobin a finger heart, kissing it and sending it to his boyfriend. “You know, gestures like that.”
A light blush decorates Seobin’s cheeks, but he micmics the little gesture although not as confidently as Jiwoong did. Jiwoong stares expectantly, silently pleading for more and the soft sigh Seobin lets him out makes him coo at the younger.
“I love you the most,
hyung,”
Seobin says in what Jiwoong assumes is his most soft, cute expressive tones. To make a point he gives him heart hands, a little wink and quickly drops his hands as he burns in embarrassment. “Is that good enough?”
“You’re not going to do the heart sign over your head?” Jiwoong teases, absolutely delighted at the pout he gains in return. Seobin looks almost exhausted, doing the pose so fast he would have missed it if he had blinked.
“Kisses would be much easier than this,” Seobin huffs, running a hand through his hair. Again, he’s the cutest human alive in Jiwoong’s eyes. “Is that not enough? Do you need me to take my hoodie off and hold my heart?”
“Well if you’re going to get shirtless..” Jiwoong trails off, bursting into uncontained laughter at how red his boyfriend becomes in return. Oh thank every being out there that no one is around.
“Hyung!”
Seobin whines, voice cracking. Despite how easy it’d be for him to end the call, Seobin remains there, sinking lower in his seat, attempting to hide himself from the camera. Jiwoong’s laughter fills the room, his own face becomes flushed and he can’t help but think how lucky he is to be where he is right now.
To have Seobin by his side no matter what will push him on through until the day he gets to see him again.
