Work Text:

Chapter 1
Zak Saturday didn't think it could get any worse than this. It was bad enough he turned out to be Kur's reincarnation all along. But now, most of his family had been scattered and cornered by the Nagas. Zak could barely move thanks to how tightly Rani Nagi had him trapped in her coils.
"Come now, Lord Kur. It is time to put an end to your delusions of humanity. You were meant to do so much more than be a mere guard dog to their kind", the serpent queen hissed into his ear.
"And how are you any better?," Zak questioned as he struggled in her grip, "You said it yourself that you'll be Kur's loyal servants!"
"The humans are nothing more than vermin capable of speech. Kur was made to cleanse the Earth of humanity through fire and blood. You and I will stand together in rebuilding a perfect world from the ashes!," Rani Nagi bellowed.
"Not gonna happen, sister," A new voice answered. Rani Nagi turned her head, only to be knocked backwards by a large, rigid figure. This gave Zak the chance to slip out of her coils. As the Naga queen recovered from the blow, she huffed at the one who attacked her. “You! Who are you to defy your own destiny, and deny Kur of his?!"
The mystery figure responded by grabbing Rani Nagi by the tail, swinging her in a circle, and throwing her at two of her subjects.
"Oh great. Another one" Zak was finally able to get a good look at whoever just helped him. It wasn't Argost like he had first thought. Especially since his rescuer lacked the British accent or high end dialogue that Argost spoke with. It was a tall, red-skinned humanoid being. He sported a tan trench coat, an enormous right hand made of stone, and two flat, round horns. Even so, Zak knew very well who this was from the comic books Doyle had loaned him.
"Hellboy?"
"Right on the nose, pipsqueak. You okay?", the B.P.R.D agents asked.
"I'm fine, but my family needs help. The Nagas have them cornered," Zak explained.
