Work Text:
Waking up from the cold concrete floor, I’m faced with a steel door. There was nothing significant about it, except for the black and white angled stripes at the bottom and a few scratches from use. Getting up and stretching my sore body, my back made a satisfying ‘pop’ to which I sighed. Looking down, I had nothing but a flimsy white t-shirt that reached past my hips along with grey shorts and black shoes. Now having a goal of getting out of the plain white room, there was a red button on the side of the door. Saying a silent prayer in my head for it to work, with a small buzz the steel door opened with a loud clang. I jumped back in surprise.
The hot air hit me like a slap to the face. Outside was nothing but a grey desert accompanied by a bright red sky. And, oh God, it smelled of smoke and decay, it stung my eyes. Wiping away the tears, there was a strange tower in the distance. Stepping out of the room, I fell as it flung high in the air until it was no longer visible with sand flying everywhere. The sand stung as it flung against my body as I covered my face from it.
After walking, well more like crawling, over a sandy hill, I spotted a road, and going down that road I was met with a large black and grey sign with a few bullet holes in it.
