Only You

Summary:

Based on Only You by CheatCodes and Little Mix

Work Text:

Dancing with your silhouette,

In the places that we met,

Tryna find you in the moon,

Shadows reached around, dancing with each other under the moon’s watchful idea. The memory of her black hair flowing in the wind made by the dance followed her around. Her dress was long, a gorgeous royal blue that contrasted her pale skin.

The silver shine had blessed her, highlighting everything about her. The sharpness of her jaw made her look goddess worthy. Her beauty had been the moon to the sun.

Reaching out to the silhouette of what once was, it was so easy to fall back into old routines. Dancing like nothing had changed, the sway of her body still felt the same. Her beauty still appeared even if it was not truly there.

Paris never feels the same,

When the streets all call your name,

So, I hide in crowded rooms,

The streets bustled with noise, as the citizens went about their daily lives. Th dirt paths a flurry of dust and people in the hot sun. Markets stood in the most awkward of places, making it impossible to move around.

Anger flares, in a way that’s similar to dropping a stone in a puddle and watching the splash rise. Loneliness makes itself known, deep down. Wrapping itself around the heart and pulling at it. It’s a crushing feeling.

Camelot no longer feels the same. Not without her. The streets still echo with her name upon its’ lips. No longer does her presence grace the people, but there is no one here helping the children. No one to care for those who can’t care for themselves.

A tavern in sight. Scan the room and see the crowd. She no longer visits, so hide and watch the people.

And I’ll follow down the river,

Where the ocean meets the sky,

To you,

To you,

‘Till death do us part’.

The secret words muttered together in their privacy, no longer true.

You had followed her everywhere, to hell and back. Burning down Camelot if it pleased her, but she had not said anything.

Had failed to mention the way her eyes would glow gold. A regal colour, and so gorgeous on her. It was breath-taking. No-one would be like her.

Think of her, why did she leave?

She had everything she wanted. Yet she left, you could’ve helped, but you left her to struggle in silence. Made her feel crazy. It is your fault for what she became.

But you had been hurt too, she knew of your eyes glowing gold but still left you, not even considering to ask.

Once upon a time we had it all,

Somewhere down the line we went and lost it,

One brick at a time we watched it fall,

I'm broken here tonight and darling no one else can fix me,

Only you, only you,

Oh no one else can fix me,

Only you, only you, only you,

And no one else can fix me,

Only you,

Only you,

She had put you back together in ways you would have never known existed. The things you had done, all the flaws, yet this goddess had looked past  them. Soft lips against your head as you slowly began fading away.

It’s been years now. Yet, the feel of her goodbye kiss was not gone. It was panicked and rushed as the sleeping spell took control. She hadn’t meant for it to go like this.

She had came back for a while, but gone was the only one who put you back together.

Instead, it was one who took you apart. Left you bare and open for all to see. She no longer cared; she had a sister who loved her now. It was wrong to celebrate her sisters death, but it meant she was closer to coming back to you. Holding you. Loving you.

But she left again.

Leaving wounds that were bruised and wide open. Hers were healed in her madness and lust. The thing between you two had been buried alive, it may be healed on her side, but at what cost?

She had left her only love bruised and bleeding. With no one to fix it.

Did I let go of your hand,

For a castle made of sand,

That fell into the blue,

I went following the sun,

To be alone with everyone,

Looking 'round a crowded room,

A feast again. All a reminder of black hair, red dresses. Stolen kisses in the moonlight with sweet wine upon lips. Gentle caresses on her pale skin. Soft kisses down bodies, in the secrecy of darkened alcoves. Secret smiles traded across crowded rooms.

Darkened eyes, grimaces across the room. You gave her no support. Did she abandon you? Or did you give her reason to leave.

Late nights with blackened hair, misty eyes and pale skin turned to late  nights with brown curls, chocolate eyes and secret discussions.

The sun was so bright, and then it fizzled out.

Could it have been stopped?

Follow the sun. You don’t want to be alone with everyone, these crowded rooms provide no comfort.

Golden hair placed upon the throne, darkened hair at his side.

Magic, roaming free within the streets of Camelot.

Still, she is not here.

Did you drive her away?

And I’ll follow right down the river,

To where the ocean meets the sky,

To you,

To you,

Once upon a time we had it all,

Somewhere down the line we went and lost it,

One brick at a time,

We watched it fall,

The end of the beginning had begun when she left first.

Everything that had been, was gone. Turning to another for comfort was all you could do.

Late nights alone in bed, its hard to understand she’s not coming back, saying it out loud would make it real.

Magic was free, she was free. Yet she leaves everything behind for power of the throne.

She had someone new, the pain inside. Twisting and turning, grappling at your heart. Building up in your throat, demonstrating its power.

It had been years. Why wouldn’t she come home? Why wouldn’t these feelings leave? Did she no longer believe in your love?

The fear. The hurt. This must’ve been what she felt as she thought you rejected her.

The twisting and turning must’ve ached like a wound that infection had taken. Like a missing limb.

Everything you had done had drove her to her descent into madness.

Find her. Saddle a horse.

Find her. Where’s her hut.

She has a throne, still as bewitching as before.

I’m broken here tonight,

Darling, no one else can fix me,

Only you,

Only you,

And no one else can fix me,

Matted hair, curling round fingers. Delicate hands reaching out. Pale and shaking. Disbelief and relief. Chapped lips upon yours. Blue and green eyes assessing, a beautiful gold hue taking over.

Swearing loyalty, a dragon, white in nature. A ray of hope.

This was the right choice, feeling as though everything was stitching together once again. The wounds that were once black and bruised healing, digging up the thing you had buried alive.

Large smile, her face glowing with happiness, hope. Were you returning?

Who are you loyal to?

“Only you, Morgan.”
