Chapter Text
Being devoured by a dragon is certainly not a pleasant experience, the dragon of my brother Aegon refused to devour me, he did not until they cut off my skin and the smell of blood flooded the nostrils of the great beast, first my arm and then the pain made me lose myself in my memories, the only thing I regretted at that moment is that my poor son had to see what was happening to me, when the dragon let go of its flame it was quiet; if the gods were pious at last I would see my princes of cab brown and blue eyes, my poor babies. They had come into the world to make me happy and then they were snatched from me just like their father, with my last breath I wanted to go home to my children and live the life I had longed for but could never have.
When I opened my eyes the light from wherever I was was was a mower, it took me a few minutes to get used to it, I was dizzy and confused, the bed where I was was soft and the room was familiar but I couldn't put my thoughts in order, the last thing I remembered was my son's screams and then nothing.
-Princess, the king is waiting for her
My father had died a long time ago, I stood up the maid looked at me impatiently and I was confused.
-my princess I need to dress her up please.
I pleaded, but I still didn't understand anything until I could see my reflection, it didn't make sense my mind was playing a joke on me, because the woman I was seeing was nothing more than the girl I once was when I was one and seven. It was a child again, but then it was all I had seen a dream, a vision. Perhaps the gods had decided to show me my future or this moment was a dream and upon awakening I would be devoured by the dragon of Aegon.
I was taken to the council where my father was waiting for me, it was so strange to see him again, to see him whole and healthy, old Hightower was there as were many faces I had not seen for a long time. The tour to find my future husband was about to begin and they needed to give me the details, right at this moment in my life I was not yet ruined, here this exact moment I could choose to be happy, at this moment I could choose my beautiful blue-eyed self with rebellious curls, at this moment I could choose Harwin Strong. I've loved Daemon since I was a child, but that love brought me nothing but disgrace and disgrace, and no matter how much I wanted him in my last moments of what I thought was my life, all I ever wanted was to see my children and Harwin again, love them both, but maybe I love the man I'm going to make my husband more.
Walking back to my chambers feeling the presence of being Criston was so strange and uncomfortable, remembering everything that happened and could happen between us and how I end up makes me feel extremely disgusted, if anything I'm sure of is that what I lived with him would never happen, not now that I know how things would end between us, but I'm also not willing to leave another ally to the Greens, I would never dare to cross this line with Cole.
As the tour begins my mind is on the Harwin Strong after all the time I had spent it was impossible not to think about him when I looked at our children, my Strong children were physically just like him, but no one could deny that the dragon's blood ran through their veins.
I used to think of him, remembering our life together as the happiest years I had, his kisses and the way he adored me in fond memories of my life. The night Jace and Heleana danced my mind was to remember my marriage to Laenor and my first dance to Harwin a happy moment before misfortune covered that night. As I listened to the gentlemen talk about why I should marry them my mind was on the representative of House Strong, he clearly would not be here but I knew that his uncle would be here to speak on his behalf and although House Strong certainly would not be the most advantageous marriage not because their wealth was small or their name had no weight or history, there were simply houses that would bring a greater advantage to the crown but my father had given me the opportunity to choose a husband and I had already done so.
I thanked each lord for seeing you come and hastened to return to kingslandig.
The king will not be happy to see her return so soon Princess
He said he was a Christian and he certainly wouldn't be, but I had already chosen a husband and from the bottom of my heart I hoped that he would be happy with my decision. If things happened as I thought along with my arrival also Daemon would be present and with him the first decision that ruined me.
After Daemon made her court debut and my father asked for a moment with the King so I could inform him of my decision.
-You're not supposed to be back so fast Rhaenyra
said visibly annoyed
I know father but I didn't see the point in going on tour when I've already made my decision
I answered firmly
-is so ? and who is the
-ser Harwin Stron
I arch an eyebrow and with the slightly wrinkled breast I answer
-Harwin Strong the commander of the city guard
the doubt was in his tone
The same father I know that you and your lord father are very good friends and have been at our court for many years, being Harwin is a man of honor and impeccable reputation
I couldn't say what my father was thinking but any uneasiness I might have about his indecipherable face was snatched from me when a big smile on his lips appeared.
Don't tell anyone my princess but I'm a great admirer of your future husband, certainly not everyone will want trouble with you when your future prince has the well-earned nickname of Breakbones and certainly Lyonel is a good friend of mine, and although you may not see the most advantageous marriage for our house I've given you my word to let you choose a husband and I intend to respect your decision
my smile was present my future prince that sounded nice
I'm glad that being Harwin can count on your admiration father and I'm sure he will soon do so with your affection.
I'm sure you will, now that you've made your decision you'll have to inform House Strong of the honor you've been bestowed upon them. Go and rest for a moment I'll call you when the Strong are here to settle this matter
-thank you father I will wait for your call
I knew that on my face there was a smile I didn't have to see me to know how happy I surely looked, the only thing I had to lament was for my poor Aegon and Viserys my silver-haired princes, maybe see if the gods were good they would allow me to have them again sometimes sometimes with a different hair color but in my heart I would know it was them, maybe even this time I could have Visenya with me, this time I was going to make happy.
-You look happy niece..
