Chapter Text
The first time the young boy had shown signs of magic had nearly bought a hundred year old tree crashing down. If it wasn't for his father, the boy would have been crushed long before he could reach the greatness that awaited him. Right now, he was still just a child living a life of recluse where no other children his age could find him.
"One day," his mother often said, "One day, we will be rulers of this world. We are more powerful than them in every sense. Our blood carries untainted power, and you Salazar, would be the most powerful of them all. You are meant to rule."
His father used to nod in affirmation with pride in his eyes.
Salazar believed them. He couldn't wait for the world to know him too. He was after all a member of the house of Slytherin, he was meant to carry the family legacy.
.
It was the fall season and the house of Gryffindor was covered with dry red autumn leaves. The young boy burst out from a heap of leaves as he played hide and seek with the rabbits and squirrels, he had made friends with. His parents were in the courtyard as they watched their son with amusement and warm smiles. Soon, their smiles turned to delighted shock as the fallen leaves levitated around around the boy and his animal friends. The leaves circled around him and increased its speed as more distant leaves joined the fringe. It turned into a hurricane and the boy himself began to float, caught inside its force. His mother suddenly spread out her hands as she muttered incantations. The leaves fell in a heap and the boy was gently deposited on it.
Both his parents released relieved sighs.
"Godric," his mother began as she approached him to check on him, "You can do things like mama, big boy." The boy seemed delighted. He always wanted to be like his mother.
"But now, it means you will have to work real hard, do you understand? You are very strong and can be stronger Stronger than me." His mother explained. The boy was baffled, surely no one can be stronger than his mama. Even him.
"Stronger than you?" he asked unsure.
"Yes, but we will need to work. Do you understand?"
The boy nodded.
"Good. Now, come inside. Its time for supper."
The boy promptly got up to go after his mother and waved goodbye to his forest friends..
The Gryffindor house was filled with the warmth and trust as it always did when he was inside.
.
The girl was deadly bored. Her teacher was making them do three letter words but she already knew them. In fact, she had just finished a book of rhymes and poems that was two years higher than her grade level, leaving her to let her mind wander.
"Rowena," a friend of hers called, catching her attention. "Your hand is glowing."
The girl looked down and sure enough, little wisps of blue-white light were coming from under her hand.
She knew what was happening immediately. She was smart enough to know it. She expected it to happen, actually.
She caught sight of the chalk working itself on the slate beside her. She was thankful that it was hidden from sight of the others .
"Oh, it's just this shiny rock I found at the sea. It glows after five hours of taking in daylight. " The girl made an excuse as she made to get up, grabbing her chalk and slate.
"Can I see it?" Her friend asked amazed.
"Ummm...no! Cause, I don't want to make the other children curious. It's very precious. But I'll find one for you as you are my most precious friend, Eleanor."
The other girl beamed and Rowena sighed as she walked towards the edge of the school grounds and ran the rest of the way to the Ravenclaw house hold.
She looked at the board and saw what the chalk had drawn. There was a room with a lot of bookshelves and paper strewn carpet. The door held the golden Raven sign in the center. She realised it was her favourite room. Her father's study. It has cozy chairs and carpets made of lion pelt that were charmed blue. The chalk had drawn a very detailed replica of the room.
Excitement bubbling, she went inside to tell her father the news.
.
The little girl watched the beaver with fascination. They were very friendly creatures. Today, she had made some cheese and was eager to know how it was. When the beaver jumped after its first bite and returned to eat more, the girl couldn't keep the delight from her face. She loved to cook and loved it even more when other loved her creations.
"Enjoy this, I will go to collect some fruits." The girl told the beaver as she walked away.
The basket beside her swung as she walked at the outskirts of the forest, collecting berries and leaves that could be used in medicine and cooking. When she came to a stop beside a mango tree, she looked up wistfully. She knew there was no use in trying to jump, the branches were too high. And she didn't want to use stones in the off chance there was a bird's nest or a beehive.
Slightly hoping for a mango to fall itself, she was turning away when suddenly mangoes rained down around her, none of them hitting her.
Delighted she collected as many as she could before running home to her brother in the cottage they lived in. They had named the house Hufflepuff after they decided it to be as their last name.
When she told her brother of the incident he had looked delighted. And when he made a mango levitate itself she had been shocked.
"We are the same Helga!" He exclaimed. "I thought I was the only one."
They both wore matching smiles as they celebrated this discovery with sweet mangoes, chesse and bread.
.
As these four newly discovered wizards and witches started a path of self discovery the universe was writing their fates that would one day make each of them great and known in history for many years to come. These children will become the foundation for many other magic folk. But for now, they were only children, still mostly untainted from the cruel world that awaited them
