Notes:

-+- This story was made before Season 5 was fully out in my country. This means there will be inconsistencies with the story and the show, and that the story more so goes off of its own timeline.

-+- This is my first time writing something like this. Feedback is appreciated.

-+- I will attempt to implement all, if not most of the ships: Ladynoir, Adrienette, Marichat, and Adribug (Ladrien).

Chapter 1: Monarchs Reveal

Chapter Text

“I figured out who Monarch is, Chat.”

Those words rang through his ears as they stood at their normal meeting point. They were the first words he had heard when he got there. His head filled with thoughts, unsure of how to wrap it around that Gabriel Agreste, his father, could truly be Monarch, the villain they’ve been fighting against for so long. The evidence ladybug provided was concrete, and everything that happened with akumatized victims prior had backed it up.

“But- But Ladybug, how did he akumatize himself then...?” Chat Noir had tried to reason out all possibilities prior.

“I’m unsure, Chaton. But with him working with whoever had the peacock miraculous before Felix, all we know is that they could’ve worked together way longer than Myuras first appearance. Those Gabriel Agrestes surely could’ve been a sentimonster.. Although, it doesn’t make sense as to why there was no feather....,” after some thought, Ladybug continued “Maybe he found a way to akumatize himself. He had the victim in mind, sent the akuma and then detransformed.”

Chat Noir looked at his feet after that statement, his head running with possibilities.

“Chat. We need to figure out a time to fight him, we need to prepare. We need to get the kwamis back, are you with me...?” Ladybug pleaded, holding his hands and looking him in the eyes. Chat Noir had nodded. “M’lady, we’ll need practice, we need to train... We need time...” Chat said, mostly talking about himself. He needed time to wrap his head around Monarchs identity.

“Maybe we can gather a team. Like the older times? I know you like it when it’s just us, but having backup would be preferred if we’re fighting him head-on. And they don’t have to come in instantly, I’ll have to figure out how to keep them protected but it would be useful if we had someone to run in after us.” Ladybug reasoned, lowering her head. “It’s not the most ideal plan... and I definitely wouldn’t desire to put anyone in that situation...” Ladybug trailed off, almost backing out. Chat laid his hand on her shoulder.

“If anyone can keep them protected, M’lady, it’s us. We’ll figure out a plan.. But how will we keep their identities secret?”

“I think it’s time you met everyone in the team. Obviously, it’s not the most ideal situation but we need all the help we can get. Including... In hopes she’s up for it, Chloe Bourgeois.”

Chat stood, shocked from what he was just told. Was his lady finally trusting him with the other heroes' identities? Was he finally worthy enough? He nodded, accepting the task. “Of course, M’lady. It would be my honor.”

Ladybug smiled. “Great, then that’s what we’ll do. We’ll take on patrol as normal today, then, meet back here and send me a message on my bug phone when you’re done. I’ll come, and we can discuss everything afterwards. Then, we’ll meet the heroes, together.”

    “Sounds like a plan.”

The heroes had returned to their starting point, Ladybug landing first. She messaged Chat Noir before sitting down, waiting for his arrival. Chat returned minutes later, helping his lady up after reporting that nothing was out of the ordinary.

“Alright Chaton, first visit: Alya Cesaire. Also known as Rena Rouge.”

Chat Noir smirked, already knowing about Rena. “Great, I know her, and Nino Lahiffe as two of the holders.”

Ladybug looked at him in surprise. “How?!” She questioned. Chat rubbed the back of his neck before giving a grin. “Let’s just say, things happened during Rocketear.” Ladybug stared at him, sighing. “Alright, since you already know, it’s a great first choice.”

Ladybug used her yo-yo to guide her to the Cesaires household. Chat Noir followed closely behind, both landing on the balcony at the same time. Alya gave a confused look when she saw the heroes, before opening the door.

“Chat Noir? Ladybug? What are you doing here?” Alya questioned, looking at the heroes. She quickly invited them in. On the couch was Nino.

“Perfect, we need to speak to both of you.” Ladybug began, thanking the teenagers for the invite inside.

“Yes of course! Sit down! Please.” Alya insisted, sitting on her couch after bringing over cups of water.

The heroes had sat themselves neatly on the opposing couch. “It’s a big ask... But we found out who Monarch is. And we may need your help. Only if you’re up for it of course.”

Nino and Alya both agreed, stating how they were more than willing to help. “Although... How would we if Monarch has the miraculous?” Alya asked. Nino nodded in confusion, holding his girlfriend's hand. “Well... That’s the next step. Chat Noir and I will be the ones to fight. If anything happens, we will set half the team on gathering the cops of Paris. The other half will be given a signal to help us. The plan is still in the works, we have no idea who’s willing to help so we must figure everything out after we ask. We’ll have days to come up with a fool-proof plan. But besides that, I’ll need both of you to meet us at the Eiffel tower tomorrow at ten in the morning. Is that alright with both of you?”

The couple nodded in unison. “Great. See you then. We have others we need to gather. Thank you for your help.”

The pair of superheroes visited every miraculous holder, including Chloe. It had been an exhausting task, and when they finally finished, they felt winded.

The two sat on a roof, staring at the sunset. The silence was peaceful, and it wasn’t awkward. They loved having time to just themselves, where they could talk and hangout and be teenagers again, instead of the city's guardians.
