Work Text:

With heavy steps and hands in his pockets, he pushed the door, entering one of the crowded places he used to see during his night walks.

People laughed and talked loudly in small groups. Bucky swallowed hard, making his way to the bar. He could do it. It wasn't that hard.

–What can I get for you? – the bartender asked him as soon as she spotted him running a hand through her hair trying to brush her bangs away from her sweaty forehead.

–I´ll have a beer. Don´t need a glass. Thanks. –he asked, raising his voice so that she could hear him despite the fact that he heard her perfectly. Super Soldier serum had its perks.

–Sure. –she said before continuing to serve drinks to the people on the front. Once he had the cold bottle in his hands, Bucky looked around for an empty table and as soon as he saw one he walked towards it. He didn't like that it was almost at the back of the room, without a direct view of the door, but it would have to be enough.

Little by little the hours passed. He saw groups of friends laugh while he played pool, others told stories of how they had met. Some were co-workers and some were meeting for the first time. He glanced one more time around the place before taking another sip of his beer but his gaze lingered on a green-eyed girl who was smiling as she listened to her friends talk. Everyone laughed, made gestures, hugged each other, except her, who only watched the scene with her arms crossed.

Before he could realize how creepy he might look staring at her, their gazes connected for a few short seconds taking his breath away. She was indeed beautiful.

He cleared his throat, looking away from her. He felt his cell phone vibrate in his pocket and grateful for the distraction, he pulled it out and unlocked it.

As soon as he saw it was a message from Sam, he put it back in his pocket. He huffed, grabbing the beer and taking a long sip. Tonight he didn't want to talk to him.

– Hello. – said a sweet voice next to him. As soon as he looked up at her, he felt his heart stop.

– Hey. – he almost whispered, waving his hand in greeting. He mentally punched himself. No one greeted like that. ¿What was he even doing?

He saw her smile and looked behind her, where the group she had been with earlier was looking at her encouraging her to do something. When she looked back from him to the small group watching, she bite her lip in a nervous quirk, Bucky wondered what was wrong. ¿Did she know who he was?

– ¿You good ? – he asked, pointing his head towards her friends.

– I'm going to be honest with you. – she said . – We’re playing truth or dare. – she said getting closer to his ear. Bucky swallowed hard trying to keep his eyes on the upper half of her face. If he kept looking at her lips he didn't know if he could stop himself from doing something stupid. And the perfume she was wearing didn't help either.

– Thought you were playing pool. – he said with a slightly confused frown.

– Yeah, but if you lose, you have to choose truth or dare. – she said as she leaned an elbow on the table.

– And you lost. – he concluded before taking another sip of his beer.

– ¿Is it so obvious? – she replied with a small laugh that made him smile. She stood there for a few seconds just watching him smiling. – Anyway. – she murmured, trying to focus. ¿Did he have the same effect on her too? - I chose dare.

– ¿And what is it?

– I have to get a kiss. – she whispered with flushed cheeks. It seemed that all the confidence she had previously showed had disappeared.

Bucky raised his eyebrows in surprise. ¿Did she want him to kiss her? Of all the people in that bar, she had chosen him?

– You seem like a decent guy, you don't have to. – she said, as she nervously scratched the back of her neck. She turned her face towards her friends watching as several of them booed her shaking their heads.

– ¿What happens if I say no? – he asked, leaning his back on the chair he was sitting on.

– They'll make fun of me for a month, probably. – she replied letting out a dry laugh before tucking a lock of curly blonde hair behind her ear.

– And we don't want that. – he murmured biting his lower lip looking her up and down.

– No. – she whispered, regaining confidence as she gave him another small smile.

– All yours. – he whispered, raising his hands in defeat. They stared at each other for a few seconds before the blonde crushed her lips on his. At first it was slow, little by little, getting to know each other. Then it became faster, passionate.

Bucky brought his hands to her waist, stroking her skin through the fabric in small slow circles. She slowly brought her hands up to entwine them at the nape of his neck and played with his hair.

When they parted they were both breathing heavily and cheeks red. Bucky looked from her to her friends seeing them look at them surprised. He smiled lopsidedly without removing his hands from the blonde's waist.

– Done. Anything else, doll? – he said before clearing his throat and taking his right hand to the bottle to take the last remaining sip without letting go of her waist with his left.

– Nope. This was perfect. Thank you very much. – she murmured, touching her lips. He smiled and couldn't help to, he leaned in her direction again giving her time to move away from him, however, she didn't. She stood still and closed her eyes waiting. Waiting for him to kiss her. He closed the distance kissing her slowly before pulling away from her again, licking his lips.

Peach, her lips tasted like peach.

– No problem. – he answered, taking out his cell phone as soon as he felt it vibrate. Another message from Sam but this one was important. He left a bill on the table and saw her turn around to go back to the pool table. He tried to look away from her body, then he got up and checked he wasn't leaving anything on the table or on his seat. He took two steps toward the door when he heard the small hurried steps of someone behind her. Bucky stopped, feeling a body collide with his back. He smiled briefly as he turned around and held her elbow to help her regain her balance.

– ¿Everything's good? – he asked, looking down at her to see her green eyes looking around. She kept shifting her weight from one foot to the other. She was nervous.

– I just… ¿Could you give me your phone number? – she smiled showing him her phone with a blue case.

– ¿Is it another dare? – he asked letting go of her arm and putting his hands in the pockets of his jacket.

– No. – she whispered, seriously. – I… just…– she tried to add stammering.

– Give me that. – he said before quickly typing in his phone number and handing her back the phone. – Call me if you have to kiss a stranger again. – he said before giving her another smile with flushed cheeks and pushing the door to go outside. He welcomed the change of temperature.

He had no idea what had just happened.
