Work Text:

Blue eyes opened heavily at the sound of the alarm next to her She blinked a couple of times trying to come to terms with the idea that it was time to wake up.

In that vague attempt to react the images of the dream she had abandoned replayed in her head: his bluish hair, that crooked and shy smile, his white neck and that indigo gaze. Her heart swelled hard as she felt him so close and real, longing to return to that dream. That feeling of strangeness on her lips that she knew would not leave her alone until she got the object of her interest.

She got out of bed more out of obligation than desire. She had to go to his job at the cafeteria.

Once she was on the bus heading to the shopping plaza where she worked, she let out a sigh. Nejire Hado was always very sure about what she wanted, something that was reflected in her dreams much of the time. If she dreamed of ramen, she ended up going to eat at her favorite restaurant. If she dreamed of sushi, she ordered it in delivery or most of the time she dreamed of those delicious desserts that had opened in the square where she was, being a recurrent customer. Her desires were simple and she always sought to satisfy them. And she had to, otherwise she would end up in a bad mood or with that discomfort in her mouth that did not leave her alone.

Once she arrived at work, she was engrossed in attending to each and every customer that arrived with the smile that represented her, serving black coffees, mochas, lattes or a sandwich or croissant. She checked her phone when it vibrated in her bag and smiled.

"You look so beautiful."

Just then she looked up as she heard the bell indicating a new customer. Her lips curved more genuinely as she discovered Tamaki in front of her.

“Hello," Nejire greeted with her cheeks flushed. “What can I do for you?”

He smiled in that crooked way that made the female heart stop. Tamaki Amajiki, as handsome as the first time she saw him when she went to the movies in her early days working at the plaza and fell head over heels in love when she saw him. He had waited on her at the box office and Nejire was totally enchanted. And he was her motivation to go to the movies more regularly over the next few weeks, seeing whatever movie was playing. All so she could talk to him a bit and create a sort of friendship between them.

With that she discovered that shyness, which she found adorable rather than a bad thing. And it motivated her to go further, being clear about the fact that they were going out. At first Tamaki was perplexed, standing motionless in the locker when she told him to go out together, thinking it was a joke. But Nejire repeated it again the next time.

In the end they ended up going out...but as friends. Something that frustrated Nejire too much when they went out for dumplings, though it allowed them both to be closer, going out somewhere every week. Which Nejire was really excited about and more so because they were texting each other all the time...but it still wasn't enough. She didn't want a friendship with the Amajiki, since she saw him her decision was for them to go out. So when they went out for ramen, three months ago, she told him so.

“How should I take these outlets?” She contemplated her bowl of ramen and then the boy next to him.

“Take you?” He didn't understand what he meant. “You told me you wanted to eat ramen.” The time with Nejire had allowed him to know that peculiarity of the female that she dreamed what she wanted to eat that day. That's why they ended up going out some days between weeks to satiate the female's craving.

“Yes, how should I? Like a date?”

Tamaki choked on his ramen broth and coughed. A noodle almost came out of his nose.

“Date?” He swallowed saliva in an attempt to get rid of that uncomfortable feeling in his throat. “We are friends.” Tamaki said it with more than a hint of hesitation.

He still remembered the female showing up at the movie theater frequently. Although he did not always attend her at the box office, he had seen her at the candy store, at the crepe stand in the movie theater or entering a theater. And at some point she suggested going out. Tamaki had turned her head so many times in that instant and because of the people behind the blue-haired girl, she left promising to come back for an answer. An answer that Amajiki had given so much thought to... What did she mean by just leaving? When he told Mirio about it, he got excited waving his hands and assuring him that she meant like a date, that would explain her presence at the cinema frequently. Of course, Tamaki dismissed that idea easily. It couldn't be true, because how could someone like her notice someone like him? Considering that there were nicer people like Mirio or Kirishima who were kind and confident in every word they said. For that very reason, when Nejire asked again he agreed with the idea that it would be as simple friends. That's what he could aspire to.

Although hanging out with her outside of work allowed him to see that this girl was really charming. With her sweet and bright smile, her pleasant laugh, and the fact that he could talk to her about anything. Somehow his shyness diminished at her side and she seemed so interested in what he had to say... that the feeling that at first awakened by the feminine physique, increased to something deeper. So he looked forward to every outing with Nejire, even if they were just friends.

Or so he had thought, but there he had the female looking at him piercingly.

“Friends?” She repeated his words.

Amajiki simply nodded, that scratchy feeling in his throat, so he picked up the glass of water in front of him and took a sip.

“I don't want us to be just friends.” She fiddled with her chopsticks, a little nervously, something that puzzled her. “I want so much more.”

He choked even more when he heard that and his heart fluttered violently. Nejire grabbed his forearm, forcing him to look at her.

“I...when I asked you out I didn't mean as friends, I really wanted us to go out with the idea of formalizing something.” She mentioned, trapping his indigo orbs against her. “You... I like you, you have since I saw you and I want to be with you.”

The man's face changed different shades of red when he heard those words and his heart pounded on the verge of skipping a beat. But the warm and decisive look made him realize that she was serious. His voice trailed off and embarrassment washed over him. Did she want him?

“You...Do you want to be with me?” Nejire looked at him hesitantly.

She had always gotten what she wanted but if that shy boy turned her down, she had no idea what to do, she wanted him so badly that she couldn't think of a scenario where this all went away. Indecision overwhelmed her.

“Yes, I do.” Amajiki answered with his voice cracking.

And that defined the beginning of their relationship, three months had passed since then. Where they messaged more or went to each other's apartment to hang out or eat together. Plus they had kissed a couple of times, just a couple in those three months. Something Nejire had enjoyed so much the first time that her whole body shuddered, even though it had been mild, due to Tamaki's nervousness. He was inexperienced and not that she had much experience but when she came closer he simply stood still and pressed hers lips against his and then guided the awkward lips to move a little. That almost made Tamaki faint, however, after that occasion it was repeated a few more times, just a little deeper. On one occasion he had even leaned over and kissed her while they were waiting for the bus home. Nejire couldn't have been more in love.

So seeing him that day, going to see her before going into work, her heart fluttered.

“A coffee latte” That was Tamaki's excuse for being there.

She turned to prepare the order, handing him a larger glass and more whipped cream, until she handed it to him.

“Will you be out late today?” Nejire asked a little anxiously, remembering her dream.

“No, I'm off at five.”

“I'll stop by to see you when I get off.” Nejire mentioned, only two hours left.

Tamaki simply nodded and walked out as customers entered the cafeteria.

Once Nejire got off work she was left wanting to see the Amajiki when she found the cinema full, before the premiere of a new movie. So she left, letting Tamaki know that she had gone. She arrived home really anxious, tossing and turning in bed, with the images in her mind. She pressed her lips together in frustration, she couldn't keep dragging this out. So she grabbed her cell phone and after some hesitation typed.

"I woke up craving dumplings."

She waited patiently looking at the screen. Maybe he was busy, he had too many people that day. She plopped down on the bed on her back, humming a song in her mind. The cell phone in her hand vibrated and she picked it up to read her answer.

"I'll take them."

Nejire smiled at that answer and that what she wanted and hinted at would come out, that he would go to see her. So she waited anxiously for the next few hours. Until the door rang three times and Hado almost jumped out of bed, walking towards the door, until she opened it, discovering that deep indigo hair and eyes. She still remembered how at the beginning he avoided her gaze because of his nerves, something that disappeared when they started dating and gaining that trust between them, although even in the last times as friends he was more confident and their eyes met more frequently.

In those times he looked at her in such a way that it took her breath away. Amajiki raised his hand to reveal a delivery box and entered when Nejire allowed him to do so. He went to the kitchen, looking for some water after that trip there.

Nejire watched his every move, the carefree way he walked, that black baggy sweater and his jeans. He looked so good, even though she always thought that about him. His tousled hair, his long eyelashes and his lips making contact with the glass of water and his Adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed. He stopped and looked at her smiling and taking in the penetrating gaze of his girlfriend.

“Is something wrong?” She simply denied. Had he been confused? Nejire stopped in front of him, taking the bag in his hands.

“You weren't craving dumplings?”

“No, not really.”

Tamaki looked at her in confusion Then...why had she asked him that? Nejire was so...strange, he could feel the blue eyes totally fixed on him since he arrived and it made him nervous...was she angry? Had she done something wrong? He swallowed saliva, somewhat nervously. He tried to sort out the words in his mind and the way to say things, to fix whatever was wrong.

Nejire stared at him, meeting those deep indigo orbs. Her blue eyes focused on his tousled hair, his Adam's apple, the collarbones peeking out of his clothing and finally she gazed at his lips.

Tamaki turned around, absorbed about what he might have done wrong, walking to the table, trying to think, maybe....

”What if we kissed?”

Tamaki Amajiki's lips were what she had dreamed of that day. What she had been craving for. Though more precisely for him, all of him. Which was why she had used that silly excuse to bring him there so they could be together. But if she had to wait for things to flow so they could kiss.... she couldn't stand it.

Besides with Tamaki she had to be direct or he wouldn't understand.

Amajiki stumbled over the table upon hearing that question. Pain shot up his leg and he dropped to the floor, he had stubbed his little toe. Nejire knelt down in front of his, making sure she hadn't missed anything more serious, but it had only been the stub.

“Sorry, I think I just let it go.” She looked up to see him. “But with Amajiki I must be clear.” She put a finger to her chin thoughtfully. “ Although I wasn't when I told you I had a craving.”

He watched her wander until the pain disappeared from her foot and ideas came to his mind. So... She wanted to kiss him? Such an idea made his heart race but the sight of her with those bright, impatient eyes coming in front of him led him to lean in and press his lips to hers in a sweet kiss. His heart fluttered and his hands sweated at his initiative. He pulled away when a few seconds had passed, seeing the woman in front of him, a sentence written fully on her face.

"That's it?"

Nejire was at times very easy to understand, though for Tamaki he didn't know if that was entirely a good thing, because he was led to fight with his shyness. His kisses had always been that way and to go further....

He kissed her again and she encircled his neck, moving closer towards him, sitting on his lap. Tamaki tried to guide the kiss but Nejire was really eager, so she deepened it even more, demanding more of him. Tamaki heard his own heart in his ears as he felt that pleasant sensation, so he circled the female waist.

Nejire tasted the warmth and softness of the male lips, much more than she had dreamed, he tasted so good. Though she on so many occasions would have wanted to get to something much more... intense, somehow he had enough self-control to stop her. Still she was willing to accept anything he offered her.....

Nejire surrendered to the intoxicating warmth that Amajiki offered him, thoroughly enjoying the craving of that day and knowing that this would be repeated until Tamaki stopped controlling himself.

Notes:

Hello!

I've brought a new story of them that's been on my mind all week, I hope you like it. It's based a bit on a scene from a manga I'm reading. Always the dynamic of these two kills me in tenderness and I hope the same happens to them.

Be well!
