Work Text:

Learn when to keep your mouth shut

The Uchiha clan is known, among many other things, for its tattoos. Symbols marked on their skin which indicated their status, power, etc.

After a war against another clan, the knights brought with them a large group of families, along with a considerable number of maidens and bearers. Men from different families of the clan carefully observed each and every one of them, deciding where they would be sent. Most families would serve as labor in the households of these houses. To recognize which family they would belong to, each one was marked on their left shoulder with the corresponding symbol.

Once selected, the remaining maidens and bearers, those who were not in any kind of romantic relationship, were taken to the “auction house”, whose name was somewhat misleading indeed.

The auction house was created generations ago with the purpose of educating women and men alike on everything they needed to know about home care and how to satisfy their future husbands. Every boy and maiden had to move to the inn once they turned twelve, being then educated until they reached the age of 15, at which point they would be presented in society and then men from the entire clan would meet them in order to find who to marry.

Initially, the negotiations were carried out between the man and the hostess of the house. However, with the passing of the years they began to allow both male and female to give their opinion and reject or accept the proposals that came to them from the males. In this way, leaving money aside, the relationships created later were much more fruitful.

The only reason the males were required to submit a monetary offer was to demonstrate their ability to provide and to ensure that the occupants of the house would not end up in a home where they would live a difficult life. It is true that this could imply that only the upper class would be able to find a partner, however, many young men and women, those who felt a passion for a trade such as baking or cloth making, decided to marry a man who shared their hobbies, who they could help with their businesses if possible.

The money they obtained from the men was not considered a sale, but rather a donation. It was thanks to them that so many people could live in the inn without having trouble taking care of each and every one of them.

The name caused confusion to those who did not know what was really going on, the purpose of the place, and the clan was the target of several attacks by other clans and kingdoms.

It was true that they could explain the situation, but over the years they realized that this would not help. Their traditions and customs were different and therefore frowned upon by others. After several attempts, they stopped trying to be understood and focused on improving their military in order to protect themselves from outside attacks.

The fact that they won several battles and wars created a reputation for them as violent and unscrupulous beings, slavers, people who destroyed clans and kingdoms for their benefit. Something completely removed from reality. All the people who survived the fights only needed some time watching their “conquerors” to understand how different the reality was from all those stories they had heard incessantly since their earliest childhood.

That is why all those people did not take long to adapt and accept the customs and traditions of the Uchiha clan.

Over the years, the clan spread their territory considerably and by the time they noticed, much of the continent, about a third of the total, belonged to them. Due to their great influence and military power, the remaining clans no longer attacked them as frequently, recognizing the low chances they had of winning, however there were still some kingdoms which kept with their erroneous beliefs about them and continued to hate and attack the Uchiha clan, only to keep losing, which fueled their contempt even more.

That was the 5th war they had with the same clan, which was the last since the number of warriors and soldiers they had left dwindled considerably with each battle until they all perished in combat.

Most of the clan's civilians made the decision to end their own lives rather than be treated as slaves by the Uchiha. Those who remained, no more than 150 people, were taken to the capital where they received information that they found incredibly hard to believe. Observing the behavior of the people in all the towns and cities where they stopped to rest during their travel, they understood how mistaken they had grown regarding what their leaders treated as their enemies.

Believing for so long the lies of their leaders, hating for no real reason a clan that lived as peacefully as possible, they felt ashamed of themselves and enraged with their former leaders who made them suffer constant battles for baseless and senseless hatred. They couldn't help but feel grateful to the Uchiha when, despite everything that happened, they accepted them into their clan.

Entire families got a work to do and a place to live while the youngest were directed to another place: men to a trade house where they would find a job to dedicate themselves to; bearers and maidens went to the auction house, a name that disturbed them until they heard the story of the place.

They had been living in this huge traditional inn for a week, time they had spent acclimating to the place.

That was the 1st day where her lessons would finally start and she was feeling nervous as hell. With a deep sigh, she entered the indicated room and there she saw her two best friends: Ino and Hinata.

The first was a young blonde with long hair tied in a high ponytail whose blue eyes and pale skin drew the attention of all those who laid their eyes on her person.

The other young woman had unique white orbs that matched her long dark hair perfectly. Her personality was that of a shy and sweet maiden, which contrasted with the young blonde who was determined and very daring.

-Sakura! –Ino called her enthusiastically and she approached with a smile on her lips.

Her long pink hair rippled in the light breeze that blew through the room and her jade eyes sparkled in the sunlight that streamed through the window. The young woman sat next to her friends who smiled back at her.

-Nervous? –She inquired receiving nods in response.

She sighed and nodded her head too to indicate that she felt the same way as both of them, but before she could speak again, the same door through which she had entered minutes before opened again and through it entered a young blond with sapphire eyes and tan skin. His attractiveness was undeniable, yet she couldn't help but frown in slight disgust as her eyes fell on the scars that adorned the boy's cheeks. He stood at the front of the room and gave everyone a wide smile.

-Good morning! –he exclaimed enthusiastically. – My name is Naruto and I will be in charge of teaching you about the customs and traditions of the clan. –He introduced himself without erasing his smile.

The blond waited a few seconds until everyone nodded and one by one, they introduced themselves.

-Good. I know that they told you the history of this inn when you arrived, but I would like for you to ask me any questions you may still have so I can answer them now. –He indicated and during the following minutes he dedicated himself to answering questions from the different young people in the group.

Sakura didn't pay attention since she already knew all that. Her eyes met Ino's and they both couldn't help but giggle. Hinata for her part, looked away from the bearer, and looked at them without understanding their actions.

-I'm sorry Hina… I was just thinking how sad it is. –She murmured, covering with her hand the smile that graced her face.

-Sad? –she whispered without understanding.

-Well… Naruto seems to be very nice, but with those horrendous marks on his cheeks it's impossible that any male had taken an interest in him. –Ino continued, amusement clear in her light blue eyes.

-You don't know that. –the black-haired female admonished with a frown.

-It's pretty obvious. They told us that at 15 they start receiving offers from men in the clan, however he is still here despite being several years older than us. –said the one with jade eyes.

-And? Maybe he hasn't accepted any offers yet or maybe he has, but he likes working here. –Hinata mentioned, crossing her arms while she looked at them with annoyance.

-I'm sorry Hina, but with having other things to choose from I don’t think anyone would choose to stay here. –the blonde commented mockingly.

The raven snorted angrily and directed her gaze to the front once more, her lips pursed in obvious annoyance. She felt clearly offended after hearing and witnessing her friend’s behavior towards the amicable and nice blond.

Just at that moment they heard another young woman ask the blue-eyed man his age and another mocking giggle escaped the pairs lips when he answered. “20 years and still here? Poor thing…” they both thought at the same time. Hinata clucked her tongue, clearly irritated at both of them for acting so disrespectful towards the older male. The pair of maidens jumped as a hand snapped its fingers in front of their faces. They quickly looked ahead to find a pair of sapphire orbs looking at them with a raised eyebrow.

-I think it's great that you’re having a good time, but pay attention. –He ordered while he left a sheet of paper on the table in front of each one of them.

The other girls laughed when they saw the blush cover the cheeks of both of them from being exposed like that. They grumbled some insults under their breath while looking at the older one in disgust.

-You deserve it. –They heard the black-haired female whisper and they clenched their fists angrily.

-As I was saying: there you have written down all the lessons we teach. You have five minutes to write down your name and mark the ones you want to take. The minimum is 4 and I don't care if you are only interested in 1 or 2. There have to be four that you mark. Additionally, you will all attend self-defense classes where you will learn the basics of attack and defense in case something was to happen. –Naruto explained and signaled for them to start.

The pink-haired girl looked at the sheet and was surprised to see the number of options available: from etiquette and manners, through cooking and baking, followed by tailoring and sewing, as well as dancing, gardening, herbalism, and medicine… even child care!

With some hesitation, she marked the ones that interested her most: medicine, etiquette and manners, history, and dance. Her intention was to attract the attention of some noble of the clan and she considered that those were the classes that would serve her best to fulfill her purpose.

She looked at what Ino had checked and smiled at the options: gardening and home economics. She understood the first one since the young woman loved plants, but she didn't understand the second option. Ino noticed her confusion and smiling, pointed to the back of the sheet.

-It says here that home economics includes cooking classes, laundry, child care, etc. Everything a housewife needs to know, but something more basic than what they would teach us if we took the individual classes. –She told the jade-eyed one and she nodded understanding.

She looked at Hinata, but she didn't have time to ask her anything because the bearer came over to pick up the sheet from her. After reviewing all of them, he smiled broadly once more.

-Very good. In a couple of days, I will give you the sheet with the schedule that you will follow during the next months. –he announced animatedly. When he moved his left arm, his kimono fell apart and his sleeve fell, exposing his skin.

-Do you think he has lost weight recently? –Sakura questioned Ino in a low voice, pointing out how loose the blue-eyed garment was. The blonde looked closely at the older man and nodded since they could still see the slight roundness in his cheeks.

-Surely the stress of continuing alone has taken its toll on him. –she commented sardonically and the one with jade eyes couldn't help but giggle.

Hinata glared at them, however she didn't say anything, turning her attention back to the only bearer in the room and she noticed something curious. Shyly she raised a hand and the blue-eyed male smiled kindly at her.

-Yes Hinata? –He addressed her who bit her lower lip nervously.

-Emm… what's on your arm, Naruto-san? –she inquired in a soft and low voice. His smile widened even more if that was possible.

-This?  –he indicated at the same time as he uncovered his shoulder completely, letting everyone see clearly the tattoo of a pai-pai.

-It has any meaning? –Another woman asked with palpable curiosity in her tone of voice.

-Yes, it does. This is one of the clan customs. –He began to explain, mirth shining in his sapphire eyes. –This is the symbol that every person in the clan must have tattooed. –Naruto told them.

-Does that mean that we will also have it? –a girl with short chestnut hair inquired now.

-Yeah. Throughout this week you will get called and someone will do it for you. –the blond answered and raised a hand before they all spoke at the same time to complain, ask, etc. – Let me explain. –he asked and waited until they all nodded their assent. – The tattoo is a way of identifying the members of the clan and it does not matter in which part of the territory you decide to live. With this you can find a place to live and a job. This is the basic one that every person gets at the age of 12 or, failing that, during the first month after arriving in the territory if you are from somewhere else and decide to reside and be part of the clan. –he finished with his explanation.

-If that is the basic one, does that mean that there are more types? –asked a redhead with glasses.

-There are two more types: the 1st is for people who work for a noble family where the kanji corresponding to the family to which they belong is added under the base tattoo. Serving a family is a job for life, keep it in mind for your future. –he warned seriously and they all nodded in understanding. – The 2nd is similar. When you agree to marry a man, you will tattoo his name as a symbol of commitment and a sign of fidelity. In most cases it is only added below the base tattoo. –he explained clearly.

After hearing those words, both girls looked at the dark-haired one with triumphant smiles since the sapphire-eyed one didn't have that second tattoo, proving what they already knew since they saw him enter the room. He was single and still living there.

Hinata scoffed at them and decided to ignore their mocking words as best as she could. They spent the rest of the day arguing about their classes, the new things they had learned, and above all about the poor blond boy, although Hinata continued to defend him fervently.

Several days passed since then. They had already gotten used to their new routine when the one with eyes like the sea approached them during breakfast time in the main hall of the inn.

He greeted them with a smile, which they responded with a slight nod. Seeing him at the inn so early solidified what they both believed about the older one: that he continued to live there and, therefore, he had neither a partner nor a family.

-Something wrong? –the raven asked him shyly, playing with her fingers in a nervous manner.

-It's nothing bad. I just wanted to let you know that it's your turn to get the tattoo. When you finish having breakfast, I will accompany you to the corresponding room. –Naruto announced and the three nodded quickly, excited because it was finally their turn.

In less than five minutes, which amused the bearer greatly, they had already finished and once they collected their dishes and handed them over to those who had cleaning duty, they left the room. They went through several corridors, still amazed by the beauty of that inn, following the one with sapphire eyes who did not erase his smile at any time.

Soon he stopped in front of a sliding door and without saying anything he opened it. The room was simple with its elegant tatami mats, cozy walls, pretty fabric paintings... however her attention was not on any of those things. She focused on the utensils carefully placed on the tea table and the two stools next to it. The person who would tattoo them was not there, however Naruto did not seem concerned. He simply told them to settle down and then he left the room.

A while passed, which seemed like an eternity, although it really wasn't even ten minutes, until the door was opened again. This time, the most attractive man they had ever seen entered through it, or at least that's what the blonde and the peach-haired woman thought.

Hinata admitted to herself the attractiveness of that man with his blue-black hair, piercing black eyes like night itself, porcelain skin and well-worked body, however her thoughts were no more than an objective opinion, not like those of the other two women who had quickly lost their composure and were practically salivating over the older one.

-Who do I start with? –the man inquired in a deep, velvety voice, but in a tone suffused with clear disinterest.

Without saying anything, the raven female sat down on the stool adjacent to the one the taller one had claimed for himself. She noticed the glares from both her friends, only she just huffed and rolled her eyes in response. Out of the corner of her eye she saw him smirk with a touch of amusement and she understood that the interaction hadn’t been lost to the older male.

He adjusted her clothes better to leave her shoulder exposed, but nothing more, and proceeded to do his job, which didn't take as long as Hinata had imagined. Clearly the taller man was experienced and he carried out the task without hesitation or making the slightest mistake.

Soon she was seen with a new finished tattoo, which adorned her pale and fine skin, being carefully bandaged by the man. In a soft voice she thanked him, to which he nodded slightly, and got up. She barely had time to move away when the other two girls practically dove for the seat she'd just vacated.

Ino narrowly took the place, which angered the pinkette enormously, however she consoled herself knowing that she too would have her chance to be close to such an impressive man. Hinata felt embarrassed by their actions. Seeing them so desperate to get the male's attention was something extremely pathetic. Their actions were even preventing him from doing his job quickly and efficiently, since both of them moved every second or two, which caused him to have to stop so he didn't make an irreversible mistake.

She could see the irritation grow in the dark-haired man, something palpable when one of his eyebrows moved slightly in a nervous tic and his brow furrowed more and more. The other two seemed not to notice any of that, too absorbed in their string of questions towards him and their stories about themselves, their tastes and abilities.

Finally, the black-haired female felt that everything was over, that she could leave there after what seemed like an eternity to her, when she saw him bandage Sakura's tattoo and begin to collect his utensils. Unfortunately, he stopped after hearing something that the jade-eyed woman commented. She, noticing that the man was about to leave and her attempts and those of Ino only managed to get some basic information from him (such as: his name - Uchiha Sasuke; his age - 22 years old; profession - army colonel and trainer of the soldiers; position - 2nd son of the clan leaders…) panicked and said the first thing that came to mind in the hope of getting the attention of that magnificent specimen of human being.

-Naruto? –pronounced the one with eyes as dark as the night sky itself.

Sakura’s eyes shone then. She was emboldened to notice how he had stopped and now he was looking at her with a raised eyebrow.

-Yes, the blue-eyed blond who works here. –She mentioned smiling pleased to finally have his attention on her.

-What's the matter with him? –asked the man, a deep frown marring his porcelain face.

His eyes had a dark shine on them that none of the girls noticed, except for Hinata who looked more uncomfortable than before. She had a feeling that things would go south pretty soon if Sakura didn’t keep her mouth shut.

-Well, you know... it's pretty sad that at his age he's still alone. No wonder though… with those horrendous scars on his cheeks there's no way any decent male would have taken a liking to him. –she commented with a mocking tone of voice.

Ino laughed too and when she noticed the older man's gaze on her, she added her own opinion about the bearer, like how bad the kimonos looked on him or the fact that his weight problem was obvious.

Hinata for her part huffed angrily, not believing that they would continue insulting the blond despite the fact that he had been nothing but nice to them since the first day they met.

Sasuke was about to interrupt their endless tirade and say something when the door was flung open, startling the occupants of the room.

-Teme! –exclaimed the very same blond they had been talking about moments before.

Both the blonde and the pinkette showed an angry expression at what they had just heard. How dared that being insult the older male? To their surprise and confusion, the black-haired male just snorted in amusement and smirked as he put the rest of his stuff back into a bag.

-Dobe. –He answered, which caused the two women to smile, except the raven girl who looked at both men with a raised eyebrow, half confused and half curious because neither of them looked to be offended by being insulted by the other.

-You didn't tell me you were coming today! –complained the young man who inflated his cheeks, throwing a tantrum.

Sakura and Ino laughed, thinking that the blonde looked pathetic trying to get the black-eyed's attention by acting like a child. Hinata snorted, since she knew what they both thought and she was convinced that the real desperate ones were the two of them, not the blue-eyed one. Besides that, he looked pretty adorable in that moment, an opinion that apparently Sasuke shared given that, thanks to the position in which she was sitting in relation to the taller one, she could see how the black orbs shone with what she recognized as tenderness.

-My cheap copy was supposed to come. –he answered at the same time that he closed the bag, having finished putting everything inside it.

-Sai? And why didn't he come? –Naruto inquired, tilting his head slightly to the side, an absolutely cute gesture, even though only two people in that room saw it that way.

The male gave another amused snort and got up, then walked over to the bearer. Only Hinata saw the mischievous gleam in his coal eyes and understood what was happening soon after, when the taller man wrapped his arms around the blue-eyed’s waist and carefully approached until he kissed his strawberry-colored lips sweetly and chastely.

-Dobe, the raccoon went into labor last night. –He said in a soft tone of voice. The shorter one widened his eyes and then made another pout.

-Nobody told me anything. –Naruto whispered uneasily. The dark-haired man kissed his forehead chastely to get his attention once more.

-You know better than anyone that only the family receives the news and even so, the only person who can be there with the doctor is the husband. Or don't you remember it from when our babies were born? –commented the taller one with a calm voice, however the white-eyed girl noticed the sly and malicious look that he directed in the direction of the other two women who were looking at the scene in astonishment. Hinata laughed at their stupidity. They had focused so much on looking for and criticizing every little thing about the blond that they didn't notice any of the important details.

Now that she knew what to look for, the raven realized that the change in weight was due to the fact that the blond had given birth not long ago and the fact that the kimonos he wore were loose on him was surely due to the fact that they belonged to the taller male present, since the similarity between both garments was undeniable.

Unable to help herself, she looked at her friends with a sly smile on her porcelain face, enjoying the horrified faces of the two. Feeling somewhat vengeful, she decided to humiliate them a little more, especially since during that whole week she had to hear them say terrible things about the wonderful blue-eyed bearer and she wanted to make them pay a little for it.

The blonde in question seemed to be too lost in his conversation with the taller one, so he did not notice the change in the women present, although the coal-eyed one did and his mischievous smile widened when he noticed the brightness in those peculiar orbs like snow that the black-haired female possessed.

He noticed how previously the woman had been the only one not to share the opinion of the other two regarding Naruto and he even saw her make a disgusted face and clench her fists and her lips, clearly resisting the urge to silence them. For this reason, he nodded subtly as if signaling to her that she could proceed with what she was plotting. She smiled wider and nodded in response.

-Naruto-san. –she called the blonde who didn't take long to direct his gaze towards the young woman.

-Yes, Hinata? –He said, blushing when he noticed that by being engrossed with the dark-haired man, he had completely forgotten the presence of the three fifteen-year-olds.

-I didn't know you were married. –She commented with a sweet smile.

-OH! Since no one asked I must have forgotten to mention it. –he spoke and then let out a slight amused giggle at how clueless he could be sometimes.

-Could you tell us a little bit more about it? –asked the black-haired female kindly and the bearer’s smile was full of mirth then. He loved when they asked him to tell the story of him with the taller man. He was so happy that he didn't notice the frustrated faces of the other two girls present.

-Of course! –he exclaimed ecstatically. – Let's see… Sasuke and I met when we were little. If I remember correctly, we had… let's see… –he frowned and bit his tongue slightly, trying to remember that little bit of information.

The coal-eyed one smirked and hugged him with one arm around the waist, bringing the younger’s body closer to his, holding him close to his right side.

-You were 5 years old and I was 7, Dobe. –Sasuke reminded him.

-Right! Thanks, Teme! –Exclaimed the young man, who kissed the other's cheek as thanks for his help. – At first, we didn't get along very well, but over time we became very close. Although I thought he only saw me as his annoying and hyperactive best friend, that's why I was so surprised when on my 15th birthday he showed up a minute after midnight with an offer for me. –He laughed when he remembered that day.

Everyone woke up and watched the scene in stupefaction, especially when the situation turned into utter chaos soon after. They had been known for their loud and passionate fights since an early age, so no one was surprised when they started yelling at each other in the middle of the night. Actually, most of them looked to be pretty amused by the scene.

-And you rejected me. –Sasuke mentioned with a lopsided smile.

-Teme! It was your fault for coming out of nowhere with such a proposition! –the blue-eyed man whined.

-Dobe, the whole city knew about my romantic interest in you except you. –pointed out the taller one who pinched the young man's cheek in a playful way.

-So… how did you end up getting married? –She questioned, amused by the story, although her two friends did not share her feelings in the slightest, since she could notice the envy exuding through each of the pores of her bodies.

-We spent about two hours yelling at each other, both frustrated with the situation: I for not understanding what was happening and he for my lack of understanding. –continued explaining the blonde, who chuckled as he remembered how the spectators only looked at them with smiles on their faces, used to the peculiar way in which both of them interacted. – Then Sasuke got tired and grabbed me by the neck. I thought he was going to hit me or something... which wouldn't be the first time it happened. –He saw Hinata frown at his words and he couldn't help but laugh with amusement. – Don’t worry too much. We fought constantly, but never with the intention of really hurting each other. Sasuke always did his best to help me during my training and the best thing is that he never treated me like I was made of glass. His way of training was, and still is, brutal, but it gives results. Not for nothing our military is the best. –He clarified, giggling amusedly.

The black-haired man hummed and smiled proudly at his husband's words. The truth is that he loved receiving compliments from the blonde. No matter the context, it made him feel good, like he was doing a good job as a husband and also a father.

Hinata couldn’t help but giggle as she saw the other two clench their fists tighter, if that was even possible. She was almost surprised there wasn’t blood covering their hands with how hard they were clenching them, but didn’t comment on it. The situation was too amusing for her to do anything to stop it.

-The thing is that I closed my eyes, waiting for a blow that did not come, or at least not the one I imagined. –he snickered then since he remembered what happened next. – What he did was kiss me until we both ran out of breath and when our lips parted, he looked me in the eye and yelled:

-Fucking hell! I want you to marry me, Naruto! –interrupted the dark-eyed male and the blonde’s sapphires sparkled with excitement before letting out an adorable giggle.

-He said exactly that. –He spoke when he managed to control his laughter, but still letting out the cutest snickers and giggles ever.

-I had no choice. As clueless as you are, if I hadn't been so direct, we would still be arguing to this day and we wouldn't have gotten married. –commented the black-haired man mockingly, to which the blonde stuck out his tongue childishly at him in answer.

She heard Ino and Sakura cluck their tongues in obvious annoyance, surely hating the fact that that wasn't the case, but she decided to ignore them and focus on the couple standing in front of them all.

-As I was going to say before being so impolitely interrupted. –Naruto said childishly, something that made the man roll his eyes with fond exasperation. – A few months later we got married. We had our first child, Sarumi, a year later and three months ago the twins were born: Sana is our daughter and Ruka our youngest son. –The shorter of the two ended the story with a smile so dazzling that it would rival the sun itself, besides that his sapphire eyes shone with so much love that she sighed in love with what she saw.

-And the tattoo? –Hinata asked, remembering what the young man explained to them the day they met him about the clan's customs.

-OH! Sasuke didn’t want it to be like the others so I suggested something a little different. –At those words, the dark-haired man parted his kimono, leaving his chest exposed and she knew without looking how both maidens almost shamelessly drooled over the image, while she ignored them and focused on observing the mark that rested right where the heart resided: Naruto Uchiha was tattooed in italics and making the shape of a heart.

Hinata understood that they didn't see it that day because the blonde’s chest was bandaged and that was probably because he was still lactating and the area was sensitive, so it would bother him if he didn't cover it properly.

-It must be difficult coming to work with three small children. –She mentioned voice a little bit worried, however she also had to point that out since it was one of the reasons that her friends used in her arguments: the fact that the bearer was still in the inn.

-Actually, I'm just volunteering. A lot of young people came and there was a lack of staff, so I came to help during the first days. –Naruto replied smiling slightly.

-What is your job then? –She wanted to know and the blonde blushed slightly.

-I am a teacher at the orphanage in the city so I can take the children with me or go see them if necessary. It's convenient that we live about five minutes from both the orphanage and the training center where Sasuke works. –the blond explained softly and Hinata felt complete admiration for the older man.

It was obvious how hard he worked, how much he loved his kids and how proud he felt about his husband. It was amazing how many things the blond did just because he wanted to. He was still so young, but he felt like ages above her. And she felt amazed and absolute respect for the blue-eyed bearer. She wanted to be like him some day.

-Dobe. You came early today so we can go back home now. –the black-haired man spoke, voice low and rough but his eyes had a tender touch on them.

Naruto hummed and nodded his head in agreement. After saying goodbye to the girls, he left the room with his husband, both holding hands and fingers intertwined, while the blond spoke animatedly and the dark-haired male listened attentively, his eyes soft.

It was clear as a day how in love those two were and Hinata couldn’t help but let out a sigh full of love and admiration. He hoped those two stayed together for all eternity since they more than deserved it.

The black-haired girl got up from her seat then and calmly stretched her body. She looked with a satisfied smile at Sakura and Ino, knowing that the story they had heard had spoiled all their plans and dreams about snatching the older raven for themselves.

-You got what you deserved you know? Judging someone without trying to know them first, making those awful comments about them, thinking you were better without any proof… Karma is truly a bitch and decided it was time to slap you both in the face for acting like entitled cunts. –Was what she said before walking towards the door and leaving the room, leaving both girls with glassy eyes and clenched fists, feeling completely humiliated.

~/////~/////~/////~/////~/////~/////~/////~/////~/////~/////~/////~/////~

-Dobe. –Sasuke called the blonde’s name who tilted his head slightly to look at him in the eyes.

-Yes? –he hummed; eyes bright with curiosity in them.

-Did I tell you how much I love you? –the raven suddenly asked, making Naruto stop walking and look at him with widened eyes.

-I… every day you do. –he whispered, his cheeks getting redder as the seconds went by.

-I think I don’t do it enough thought. –Sasuke commented, looking intensely at his husband.

-What came over you so suddenly? –Naruto inquired in a whiny tone of voice, embarrassed at the taller’s words and behavior.

-I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate you. How I couldn’t be able to keep going without you in my life. –he admitted honestly.

Naruto’s cheeks got redder then, even his ears and neck getting hotter. He let out an ashamed squeaked and hid his face into the taller man’s chest who didn’t hesitate to hug him around the wait and push their bodies as close as it was physically possible.

-You’re gorgeous Naruto. And I’m so glad you chose me as your husband and gave me such beautiful kids. –the dark-eyed male whispered right into the flushed ears of the younger male.

The blond whined against the raven’s chest making the taller male chuckle with amusement. After almost five years of being married, the blue-eyed bearer still reacted so cutely sometimes. He loved it every time it happened since the fact that he was the cause behind that reaction made his heart flutter in his chest.

-I love you. –Sasuke told him, voice soft and tender.

-I love you too. –Naruto mumbled without getting away from the other’s chest. He could hear Sasuke’s heart beating against his ear and the rapid pace make the blond relax and smile. – I love you so much. –he whispered once more, nuzzling against the raven’s chest cutely.

Sasuke chuckled and kissed the top of the blonde’s head in answer.

-Come on… let’s go back home. The kids are waiting for us. –the black-haired male encouraged and Naruto nodded.

The blond got on his tiptoes and kissed his husband’s lips tenderly before smiling gorgeously at the taller male.

-Back home. –he whispered before holding the other’s hand in his and starting to walk once more.

Sasuke hummed and followed him without hesitation. He remembered those two girls’ words, how stupid and unfounded those insults were. And while he felt pissed after hearing those awful things being directed towards the love of his life, he also knew that whatever those two thought didn’t matter at all. They could dream all they wanted, but that won’t change anything. Naruto was his and he was Naruto’s. They were happily married and had beautiful kids together. And Sasuke would never wish for anything more than what he already had because there was nothing he could ever want since he already had everything that made him truly happy.

Having that gorgeous blond in his life was truly god’s best gift to him and he would treasure his husband for as long as he lived.

…… The End ……
