Deku’s Secret Boyfriend

Summary:

They don’t say anything for a while and Katsuki is just picking at his food at this point.

“So why didn’t you tell me you had a boyfriend?”

Izuku feels like the worst person in the world as the lie slips off his tongue so easily,

“Uh well he’s not really my boyfriend...”

Or Bakugou Katsuki comes home from work early and walks in at the worst time.

Notes:

Hello! This is one has been in my head forever but I didn’t have the patience to write it out lol. I hope you enjoy!

Chapter 1: It pays to be quiet

Chapter Text

Bakugou Katsuki is tired and pissed off beyond his normal limits.

As a newly debuted pro hero, Katsuki was not made for stealth operations. For the first year, solo heroes were on early or late night patrol, and if you ask Bakugou it was for a fucked up form of initiation.

These partícular shifts, required a hero to be quiet, delicate, and have things taken care of while under the blanket of night.

Katsuki was actually, contrary to popular belief, a pretty quiet person. Unless he is pissed off, he had really toned down his explosive attitude, due to slowly mellowing out over the years.

It was rare he got loud at all nowadays, especially since he got his hearing aids.

But Katsuki had always had a talent for sneaking around and eavesdropping, so his inherent nature had nothing to do with his inability to excel at stealth missions.

It was his quirk. The explosions are loud and flashy and there was very little he could do about that, no matter how hard he attempted to modify it.

He had been scolded by Endeavor for disturbing the city for firing off explosions early in the morning or in the middle of the night.

Although he brought it up every. single. meeting. Katsuki was always excused on the count of him saving their fucking lives thank you very much.

But all that came to a head when Bakugou was placed in a suburban neighborhood, surrounded by a sleeping community with its only sounds at night consisting of the buzz of street lights and the chirping crickets.

In Katsuki’s last intervention, Endeavor’s agency placed him here in hopes to further deter his quirk use.

Katsuki couldn’t help but feel as though he was being punished in attempt to discipline him.

This pissed Katsuki off, so while he was on patrol tonight, he did nothing but pace around in the dark neighborhood, fist clenched at his sides as whispered curses fell from his lips about his stupid boss.

It was a quiet neighborhood filled with posh people and security systems, Bakugou knew nothing was going to happen for his entire 12-hour shift!

This was bullshit and he was ready to clock out.

He was only about 2 hours into his shift when he hears a crash that grabs his attention. Excitement ignited in his chest, he was more than ready for a fight.

But Katsuki had been in lessons all week and Endeavor was adamant about him observing then blasting when it came to patrolling residential areas.

The only exception was unless he saw something coming right at him at a quick pace. Better to be safe than sorry.

So Bakugou decided he was choosing safety tonight.

Katsuki aimed his gauntlet at the fast moving object barreling towards him, a blast already being heated up in his palm in preparation, just to be met with glowing feline eyes filled with fear.

“What the fuck!” At the last minute, Bakugou deflects his blast to the white car in the driveway next to the bushes the cat burst out of.

The car explodes in the loudest fucking explosion.

Fucking great.

After being beat upside the head with a broom by the old lady the car belong to, Katsuki was dismissed from patrol that night with a disciplinary referral until they could relocate him to a more ‘secluded location’.

It’s not like Bakugou wanted to be there anyway. Nothing would have happened in that boring ass neighborhood. He would have been bored all night!

This thought process doesn’t make him feel any better but as he ascends the stairs to his apartment building he hopes his roommate is still up, so he can rant about his shitty night.

Midoriya Izuku decided to room with his childhood friend during their last few months at UA.

Although they had made a lot of progress over the years, Katsuki knew that asking his oldest friend to be his roommate created plenty of room for rejection on his part.

He was fine with that too. He definitely didn’t plan to just move back in with his parents and pout about getting rejected by Deku every waking moment but he didn’t have to worry about that because the bastard said yes.

But Katuski was honestly so unsure of how Izuku would answer so nothing could stop his grin when Midoriya happily obliged. Katsuki wasn’t a fan of the way his stomach turned in guilt at all the crying Izuku did because he was so glad that Katsuki considered him an option as a roommate.

Midoriya was under the impression that Bakugou had a list of people he was considering and narrowed it down to him.

The reality was Izuku was Katsuki’s only option ever in literally every scenario but that was between him, his Spotify, and his therapist.

Katsuki steps into their apartment already trying to crane his neck to see if the other door has a sliver of light peeking through the bottom as he balanced to take off his work boots.

He was dying for Deku to massage his arms to soothe some of the ache for using his quirk in training earlier that day.

Once he manages to get his boots off and set his keys on the small table in the entry way, he shuffles his way through the living room, stretching his arms above his head as his back pops in a symphony of crackles that makes Bakugou groan in relief.

Who knew the stress of not making a sound made someone so damn sore?

The house was surprisingly clean although Katuski had been to work two days in a row.

Izuku never trashed the house per say but blankets, dishes, and the smell of cup ramen would haunt the house during his time of the work week. But with making a schedule for chores and meal prepping for the both of them, Midoriya had been keeping up tremendously.

Their small sectional couch had folded blankets and fluffed pillows. The coffee table was clear of any dishes and no stains from cups that Deku would forget to put a coaster under. The floor was spotless.

That makes Katsuki stop.

Suspiciously spotless. Like the nerd vacuumed or something.

And the house smelled good. Like really good.

Like someone lit a candle and sprayed one of the fancy room sprays Katsuki bought.

Katsuki takes two short strides to the breakfast bar overlooking the kitchen.

There were no containers from Deku’s dinner.

The fuck?!

Katsuki knows there is no way he’s here, but he saw his car outside.

Maybe someone picked him up?

Katsuki turns on his heel, heading to knock on his roommates door when he hears a voice.

It was a muffled tone that seemed like someone was talking.

Katsuki had lowered his hearing aids’ volume upon making it home and the moment he adjusted the volume all the muted sounds he was blocking out came to light.

One particularly loud sound of thumping and moaning.

“Oh fuck yes, right there.”

Katsuki’s jaw drops as the sound of Izuku’s breathy moans are suddenly filling his ears.

Does he have someone over?!

From the thumping of what sounded like the headboard to the moaning pleas Katuski decides he’s heard more than he ever needed to and is ripping out his hearing aids, stomps to his room, and slams the door.

He had enough for one night.
