Chapter Text
The first time it happened was an accident.
Okay, not really- but Death will always try to blame it on human error regardless. It's a little embarrassing to admit that you bit someone for fun.
She meant to bite her, just not that hard.
She understands that humans can feel pain, physically and emotionally. But the threshold for both is so vastly different from mortal to mortal that she gets..lost in it. She just wasn't expecting Sisi to scare so badly when it happened.
"What was that?!" the girl shouted, holding her tender cheek that now had the imprint of Death's lips and teeth. Elisabeth stared at Death with wild eyes, she was afraid.
"If you hadn't moved, you wouldn't have been bitten there." Death replies smugly, fighting off a grin. It's true, she hadn't meant to bite her cheek, either. She was going for her neck.
She wanted to feel the rush of life under her tongue, to press against a pulse-point and really feel the beating of a human heart.
"You BIT me!" Elisabeth shrieks, and Death revels in it.
She loves being given love, but she sits most comfortably in the essence of those that fear her. It's an instinct at this point, make them scared so they never see you vulnerable.
Well, too late for that. She bared what little soul she had left- (if it could be considered a soul at all) just for Elisabeth to knock her down another peg with each rejection. Sisi wanted to be with Death, she could feel it, but that fear would kick in every time.
Maybe her soul was too much to bear.
"Yes. I'm glad you figured that out". Death was cold and uncaring in her response, but a smirk played at her lips, giving her away. "Would you like another one?".
Elisabeth's horrified expression pulled a loud cackle from the Lord, she advanced upon the mortal, a hand finding its rightful spot upon her waist and bringing the other up to rub at the bite on her cheek. "Elisabeth." she sighed, turning the girls head to take a closer look at her handiwork. A playful smile found its way across her mouth as she leaned down and traced the imprints of her own teeth with her tongue, kissing the bite softly.
"That's going to bruise, Darling".
Elisabeth shuddered under her; being so close to Death has always been a slippery slope. But now she's been marked. A bite mark and a beautiful bruise to accompany it. Now everyone would see that Sisi was Hers. Claim had been laid, Empire and family be damned.
Elisabeth whimpered softly at the thought, pressing her wounded cheek against Death's cold and inviting hand. "Can you not fix me?" she asked, eyes closed. Death hummed, a surprisingly warm sound for such a callous and cold being.
"Elisabeth-" she starts, looking down at her in awe. "I cannot give, I cannot heal. My job is to take." she interlocks their fingers on her other hand, pulling Sisi closer to her cheshire grin. Death leans down, lips meeting the heat of Elisabeths neck at last.
"I can only make you worse".
Teeth meet skin and a moan escapes her. Elisabeth screams, a beautiful sound to Death's ears as she clamps her jaws tighter onto the pulse beating wildly beneath her tongue. Death holds the mortal close, fingers digging into anywhere she can grasp. Elisabeth has gone still beneath her teeth, but she's very much afraid now. Death can feel it radiating off of her warm skin and jumping in her pulse. She pulls away and licks the bite soothingly, pressing another cold kiss to the injured skin.
"Hmph" She chuckles to herself, listening to Sisi's ragged breathing. There are tears in the girl's eyes and her whole body is trembling like a leaf clinging to a branch in a storm. Death wipes away the tears with her thumb gently, shortening the space between them once again, mouths so close to touching that Elisabeth almost wants to lurch forward and close the gap. Death licks a stray tear away from the corner of Elisabeths mouth and whispers.
"That's going to bruise too".
