17 Reasons Why We Think George Russell And Alex Albon Are A Couple
We’re only six months into 2023 and Alex and George have been keeping us well-fed with their content, but if you look at everything together, it seems like they’re dating. Why? Well, see for yourself.
#1 – 15 February

Alex posted this photo on George’s birthday to celebrate it, and they’re sitting very close on this photo. Too close for two straight men, too close to be just friends? Who knows, but it certainly raised some questions.
#2 – 15 February & 23 March

On his birthday, George posted this on his Instagram story. The fact that it was a birthday trip and the love heart made people think he was with Carmen, especially since she had turned 25 just two days before, making it an excellent occasion for a trip to Paris.

But then, on Alex’ birthday, George posted this photo, essentially confirming he was in Paris with Alex, and now the heart has an entirely different meaning. Or does it?

Going on runs is probably a normal occasion for the two of them, but why is it that this photo feels vaguely romantic?

Even Formula 1 drivers have to go on grocery runs, we know that, so it seems like a normal photo. Upon further inspection, we realised it, in fact, is not. He’s in a Carrefour in a French-speaking country, but why would he be getting groceries if he wasn’t at home? (He lives in the UK.) Right, because he is getting groceries with Alex, who lives in Monaco, which has a very domestic vibe.
#5 – 2 March

Cute photo of the shadow of Carmen’s and George’s intertwined hands, right? Wrong. Those are certainly not Carmen’s hands, too big to be hers. They might be Alex’, though?

Based on their laughs, we think it’s Alex and George in this video. We also think they are very much drunk, why would they be drunk, to forget about their DNF’s, maybe? They snuck out, found a playground, went on the swings, and recorded this. Makes sense, right?
#8 – 19 April

Alex on a date, cute, right? You probably thought this was with Lily, as we all did, but then she posted this:

Which means Alex can’t be on a date with Lily, because he is in a restaurant in Monaco and she is in Los Angeles, so who the hell is he on a date with?
#9 – 19 April

The answer comes in the form of this Instagram story. George is in a British car (passenger side is on the left side), but not on a British road (they’re driving on the right side of the road). Also, George does not trust many people driving him. Who would he probably trust driving him? Alex. Who drives a British car in Monaco? Alex. So who was Alex probably on a date with? George. (Also, this is clearly a Mercedes, and who drives a Mercedes? Alex).
#10 – 27 April

This just solidifies it all for me. If you don’t know, Perfect is rumoured to be about Taylor Swift and Style is rumoured to be about Harry Styles, and the two songs have a similar bpm (95 for Style, 100 for Perfect) and just sound similar, so them posting these two songs on their stories at the exact same time just screams soft launch to me.
#11 – 5 May

Once again, George with the hands, but this time it’s even more clear those hands are certainly not Carmen’s. They’re too big and the skin is too dark to be Carmen’s. You know whose hands they could be? Alex’.

We think this was the place George was staying at during the Monaco Grand Prix, it could just be a rented apartment, but if you look closely, the apartment looks lived in by Alex, and if you look even more closely, there are hints that George lives here as well. First, in the sim racing setup, there’s a Red Bull cap lying on the floor. Who has driven for Red Bull? Right, Alex Albon. The trophies in the living room also tell us something, because the big gold one looks like Alex’ Bahrain 2020 trophy, while the one next to it looks like George’s Brazil 2022 trophy.
This means they are almost certainly living here together, because why else would they both have their most important trophies displayed here? That raises the question: why are they living together, and why don’t we know about this? Maybe because they’re dating and weren’t ready to tell the world yet?
#14 – 4 June

That just screams boyfriends to me. (Also, this is the same colour heart he used for the date night story, maybe he just uses the white heart for things with George? That would confirm our theory that he was on a date with George.)

Even after his shitshow of a race, George goes to hug Alex afterwards, and even posts about it on his story with a heart. The same heart he used in his birthday trip story. I don’t know about you, but I have never seen any of the drivers post a post-race hug, especially not if they’re not teammates and if one of them retired. But, you know, whatever the circumstances are, boyfriends support each other, right?
