Chapter Text
A normal day in the life of a med student looked like this: wake up, get ready and go to class. Class involves dying, crying, doubting yourself and constantly asking "what are we doing?" "wait what does this mean?" and the all time favorite "what the fuck". Then you come home, maybe go to a friend's place, yada yada yada. But for some students, class was the highlight of their day. These students had #1 student Aaron Warner and #2 student Juliette Ferrars in their class so it went more like cheering, jeering, snickering and, somehow, learning even through the constant bickering of the top two students.

The professor walked into the class, checking her timetable and sighing as she realised the class she had. With a slam of her files on the table and a tight lipped smile, she declared "Alright people, I'm going to begin with this instead of ending with it so I'm not late to my next class”
Before she could begin, two hands shot up. Palpable tension passed like electricity between the clash of green and brown eyes. Aaron smiled serenely, "It's alright Professor Davey, we already know about the upcoming presentation. And since this is a chance for our school to remain victorious, I believe that I should be our representative as number one-"
Slow claps interrupt his speech, followed by a jeer, "Oh thank you, Warner, for the beautifully cliché pre-prepared speech. However, I believe that someone with actual social skills should represent us". A scoff followed Juliette volunteering. She didn’t miss the annoyance shown in the green eyes, the way he had to take a deep breath to control his temper, the way he had his tongue pressed against his cheek and the way he rolled his emerald ring around his left pinky.
"Perfect, we have our two representatives as required!", exclaimed Professor Davey. Expressions of shock filled the two's faces as their mouths opened in protest, fueling the anticipation filling the room. A glare and a "Thank you for not making a scene this time" spoken through clenched teeth cut off any words against the decision made.
A solid minute of silence before an incredulous, "Professor, you can't send me with him!? I swear he'll actually kill me. Can you deal with the guilt of having my blood on your hands???" erupted from Juliette. The professor only had time to sigh before insults flew back and forth at speed of sound between the two and shouts of support and OHHHHs filled the class.
The slow click-clack of heels up the amphitheatre stairs slowly silenced the class as the professor approached the two students with thick packets of paper. “Here are your itineraries for the 2-week trip.”
“Don't embarrass us.”, spoken with an unusually icy tone.
“Now get out, you lot. Mr. Warner and Ms. Ferrars have taken up enough class time, attention and motivation that I won't be able to teach you anything.”
The students left quickly, trying to fight smiles and holding in laughs.
Warner stalked towards Juliette, "Don't you dare ruin this for me, Ferrars"
"Likewise, Warner. Just make sure you can actually talk on stage, yea?", shot Juliette as she left.
