Work Text:
Himeko pulled her sunglasses up as she padded her way out onto the balcony. The air was stuffy, and the scent of salt didn’t help a bit, but the scenery of the ocean before her was pretty and it was better than spending hours tinkering on her latest project.
Her fingers wrapped around the railing, her body leaning forward so she could see the view better. The rolling of waves sounded like music in her ears. Surfers jumbled into the mix of blue waters and sea foam. Surfing looked fun, but Himeko was never the bravest one.
After a moment of searching, Himeko finally found her target.
The bright, magenta hair was easy to distinguish. Himeko wondered if she chose that specific color because she knew Himeko was going to watch. She’s there, sitting cross-legged on the beach, and waxing her surfboard. She seemed too engrossed in her task, she didn’t realize people had their eyes on her and the other surfer boys were ogling her.
Himeko huffed. She must have been doing it on purpose. Each turned head was like a hammer that drove the nail into Himeko. But Himeko wasn’t a possessive lover. She’s more of a jealous type although she didn’t have to feel that way. That woman was hers through and through. She had the privilege to touch every inch of skin under that flimsy bikini while everyone else could only wish. She knew what to do to make the woman moan, where to kiss to make the woman scream her name. She knew everything.
As if she could feel Himeko looking, the surfer looked up from her board and turned around. Using her hand to shield her eyes from the sun, she peered up to the beachside cottage where Himeko was at. A smile pulled her pink, plump lips when she caught the sight of Himeko. Her hand waved almost comically.
Himeko waved back, acknowledging that she saw her. The woman sent a wink and a flying kiss to Himeko before she took her board and started another round before the day ended.
Pulling back from the balcony, Himeko went inside the cottage without bothering to shut the sliding door. The cottage was hers. It’s not much, but the place was comfortable and nice. Himeko pulled out two cans of beer from the fridge. Heading back to the balcony, Himeko sipped her beer as she watched the sky gradually turn into a shade of pink and blue. The view was like something you see on postcards sold in gift shops. It was ridiculously pretty, and Himeko found herself drifting for a moment.
Himeko didn’t hear a knock on the door and was caught off guard when a pair of arms circled around her waist. Instincts kicked in, but the hair that came to her view was familiar and Himeko’s muscles were quickly loosening.
“Kafka,” Himeko called. The woman replied with a muffled hum. “You should take a shower first before hugging me.”
The woman, Kafka, lift her head to look at Himeko. She stood on her toes to brush a chaste kiss on Himeko’s lips. It tasted rather salty.
“Why didn’t you go to the beach?”
“I can’t swim.”
“What’s the point of having a surfer girlfriend if you can’t make use of me?”
Himeko raised her brow and turned around so she could get a good look at the woman. Kafka stepped into the cottage in flip flops, frayed jean shorts that hung her hips nicely, and that black bikini top. Kafka was beautiful. That’s a given, but what makes her unique in Himeko’s eyes are the tattoos that scribbled on her skin. A small, inverted cross on the sternum, cursive letters on her left collarbone, curled in her left bicep in a floral pattern down her forearm in lovely streaks.
“Are you talking about teaching me how to swim?” Himeko asked back. She tucked Kafka’s hair behind her ear to look at five pieces of jewel pierced in her cartilage. They reminded Himeko of stars. “Or is this about something else?”
“I don’t know,” Kafka husked. She liked it when Himeko played with her piercings, so Himeko did just that. “Maybe both?”
“Both,” Himeko repeated. She leaned to Kafka, their lips were a breath away, but neither of them made the move to claim the other. It’s one of their games. One that’s frustrating but also gave a lot in return. “You smell like salt.”
“Maybe,” Kafka’s voice was dragging as she kissed the area around Himeko’s mouth but not giving it to the place Himeko wanted the most. Her peck was feathery, lingering with each kiss, and Himeko began to feel dizzy.
And Kafka was openly chuckling, deep and playful. Playing with Himeko had always been her favorite pastime. She quickly pulled away, avoiding Himeko’s teeth when the redhead lunged forward to get a taste of those lips.
Kafka said nothing and walked away to the balcony. Himeko could only blink whatever daze that had left her confused.
She found Kafka leaning over the railing. Magenta hair pulled upward in a messy bun, a few strands blew with the wind, and let her neck be exposed to the open air. A tiny tattoo was inked in a thick, intricate design of a spider, dark against the sun-kissed skin.
Himeko approached, hands gripped on the railing, essentially boxing Kafka so she had nowhere else to go. Closing her eyes, Himeko nuzzled close, nose smoothed up a pronounced spine, deeply inhaling Kafka’s scent. A grin pulled on her lips at the feeling of bumps emerging on the skin the moment Himeko began kissing the spider tattoo.
The taste of Kafka stayed on her tongue and pulled Himeko for more. She trailed her lips up and down, mouth slightly opening as she grazed her teeth along the pulse point, her front and Kafka’s back pressed like pieces of a puzzle, perfect fit, as Himeko continued giving Kafka her kisses, up and up, teeth found one of the jewels on the lobe and gently pulled.
“Himeko,” Kafka purred, rolling her neck back to get more. “We’re still in public.”
“That has never stopped you before.”
Kafka laughed and turned around, fingers curling on the fabric of Himeko’s dress, pulling on it harshly for a quick kiss. Himeko had enough of this game and held Kafka’s cheeks in her hands, tilting her head, and shaped their lips for more. She felt Kafka smiled into the kiss but made no effort to take things further. Again, the woman pulled back to take a breath and grinned.
“I really need to take a shower. All this salt water is making me uncomfortable.”
Himeko narrowed her eyes, “You’re a tease.”
“Never know the Professor Murata is this feisty.”
That earned Kafka an unamused eye roll from the redhead. “Say that again and I will put a muzzle on your mouth.”
“That’ll be very humbling,” Kafka replied, teeth snapping at the air, followed by a warm chuckle. “You don’t mind me borrowing the shower, do you?”
Himeko almost groaned when Kafka pulled away from her. The way she walked was achingly slow and deliberate. Himeko could only watch Kafka saunter forward with hypnotizing hips and pull the bikini over her head as she made her way to the bathroom. The door closed before Himeko could see anything else.

Sandals flicked off Kafka’s feet as she made her way across the sand. Himeko followed not far behind, watching Kafka’s backside. The air was cooler once night came, the beach was empty, and the waves that crashed gently added too much of a mood that made Himeko’s stomach feel funny.
“Don’t you just love this?” Kafka said as she breathed into the air. “The sea is a wondrous place, isn’t it?”
Himeko replied with a smile. Kafka had always loved her ocean. It was the first thing Himeko found out about her that morning after, basking in the soft light, skin against skin, as the hunger settled for more innocent curiosity.
“What are you doing?” Himeko blinked when a crop top dropped to the sand and the jeans short followed.
“Swimming?” Kafka questioned back as more garments left her bare.
“At this hour?”
Kafka clicked her tongue but she’s not annoyed. “It’s not summer vacation if you’ve never done this. Stop being a prude and join me.”
Himeko had never done this, and she never considered herself a prude. She had her share of excitement and adventure, but this kind of spontaneity was new . Kafka came into her life, with all her fearlessness, her strangeness, and the power that shifted Himeko’s gravity. And, even after all this time, this woman had never failed to surprise her.
So, Himeko stripped down. She let her cardigan, sundress, and underwear crumpled onto the sand, overwhelmingly aware of the eyes that watched her. It was pure interest and other things in Kafka’s eyes and the other woman didn’t even bother to hide it.
“The last one gets into the water sleep on the couch tonight!” Kafka exclaimed and bolted to the shore. Himeko was stunned for a few moments before she tripped on the sand to follow Kafka.
Kafka’s voice was clear against the crashing waves when Himeko caught up to her, arms on her waist as they stumbled into the water, the outside world went hollow and muffled being underwater.
The water was cold. The cheap thrill quickly diminished as the fear began to settle down. She reached out her hand, feeling herself being pulled toward the surface. A gasp rolled off her lips as Himeko pushed back the red locks off her face.
And there's Kafka, standing a few inches from Himeko, panting softly with a smile on her face. Water dripped down her cheeks and off her chin, a droplet of water snagged on her thick lashes and her nose. Kafka was brilliant under the moonlight, and Himeko could only watch. Breathlessly.
“It’s not even that deep and you’re flapping around,” Kafka reached to Himeko and pushed the red locks back to see more of her face. “You’re so silly.”
“Maybe I just don’t like water,” Himeko looked away, feeling the heat on her cheeks. She hoped Kafka didn’t see it. “And there are sharks out there.”
“Sharks?” Kafka repeated with a dramatic gasp.
“Or jellyfish.”
Kafka rolled her eyes but said nothing as she dived below the surface. Himeko had no time to question when she felt something grabbed her ankles. Balance was lost and Himeko crashed face-first into the water. The loud, raucous laugh was all she heard when she came back up. Oh, it’s on , the competitive side of her flared up as she sprayed the water back at Kafka, right onto her face.
Kafka glared but there was no bite in those eyes. “It’d seem I’ve found a new sea creature with red hair and a sinfully beautiful face,” she commented, taking her position. “What should I name you?”
Himeko grinned. “I’ll shut that smart mouth of yours for good this time.”
They played like that for God knows how long, deep inside the bubble reserved for the both of them, tossing and dunking each other into the waters. Himeko’s chest hurt with how loud she laughed and her cheeks fared no better. The most fun she had on the beach was limited to walking on the sand, and this one definitely sparked something inside her. Himeko should’ve been more careful, but why worry when Kafka is here to kiss her fear away?
Their laughter subsided into a slow chuckle before disappearing to a comfortable hum. Himeko watched Kafka go into the deeper side of the water, surrender to the ethereal glow of the full moon. Kafka was more adventurous between the two of them, always taking risks, and always ready to jump at any opportunity presented before her. It’s also the reason why Kafka managed to steal Himeko’s heart after all. This woman didn’t know how to stop.
“Come here, princess,” Kafka turned and extended her hand, palm up for Himeko to hold on to. Himeko followed, of course she would , and waddled closer, taking Kafka’s hands in hers. She’s still scared of the depths, but Kafka was here to keep her afloat, never letting the waves sway her.
Kafka places Himeko’s arms around her waist and draped hers over Himeko’s shoulders. Their stomachs bumped, water tapping against the skin, taut and tender, tan and fair, a perfect contrast for two people who are incredibly different yet so into each other.
“Not so scary now, isn’t it?”
Himeko nodded and Kafka’s smile softened. She must have sensed her uneasiness.
“There’s no shark or jellyfish, we’re still inside the safety line, and I won’t let you drown. Is that enough for reassurance?”
Himeko laughed, shaking her head in disbelief. “You’re always pushing me to do things I never thought I’d do.”
“Is that a bad thing?”
“It means you’re a bad influence,” Himeko pulled closer until their bodies flushed and she felt the cold metal of Kafka’s navel piercing touch her skin. “And against all my good judgment, I don’t hate it.”
Kafka hummed and leaned to Himeko, pressing her forehead against hers, and just enjoyed the solitude around them. Himeko felt like she was locked in a timeslip, that nothing else was important, only Kafka and her unpredictability, and it should’ve terrified her. To have someone like Kafka having this much power over her, that being with Kafka had become a necessity, that Himeko didn’t have to question why or how she let herself fall this deep. Her soul just yearned and that’s not even the worse part.
Kafka took Himeko by the jaw and kissed her deeply. Their lips are shaped together. She ignored the drag of Himeko’s tongue that begged entrance. She pulled back and grinned.
“I’m supposed to be the romantic one,” Kafka teased. Her eyes searched into Himeko’s for answers. “My parents would weep if they saw me swooning over you.”
“A payback for calling me nerd before,” Himeko replied. She caught Kafka’s bottom lip between her teeth and pulled, chewing on it lightly until it went slightly red. “You can handle one more embarrassment, can't you?”
“What’s worse than being caught by a lifeguard naked in the middle of the sea while making out with the most beautiful woman in the universe?” Kafka scrunched her nose, teeth gleaming in a handsome grin that took Himeko’s breath away. “There’s nothing to be ashamed about that.”
Himeko scoffed. Her hair was slicked back, her face bare and wet, and Kafka felt her heart stopped. Her body moved in automatic, molding their bodies together and wrapping her arms around Himeko’s back. Golden eyes found hers, sharp and unyielding. They reminded Kafka of flames.
Himeko kissed her, and there was nothing Kafka could do about it. The kiss was fast and heavy, with an open mouth that held too much need that Kafka could almost taste it, made her toes curl, and filled her with unbridled wants that were almost too filthy. Himeko raked her fingers through Kafka’s hair, and bit at her lip, pulling and twisting, as if she were trying to tear Kafka out of her skin.
Kafka was breathless. She yanked her mouth back. A little dazed. She took Himeko’s face in her hands, cupping her cheeks, gently, like she was holding something precious.
“We should get out of here…” Kafka breathed, holding onto Himeko, her body was shivering and it’s not because of the cold. “Let’s get you warm.”
Himeko grinned, tugging Kafka even closer and kissing the line on her cheek, heavy with promises.

The bed was just a matter of time.
What happened: Himeko stopped thinking that they should’ve at least dried their hair, that they hadn’t had dinner, and that having sex on a damp bed was a terrible idea. Their kiss, however, was nothing sort of accident, as natural as gravity, and nobody was willing to stop this madness.
Kafka's fingers in her hair. Himeko's back was against the soft sheets. Their mouths met in a desperate, almost furious kiss. Teeth snagged Kafka's bottom lip, only because Himeko was impatient and Kafka was too good at playing this game.
Kafka's mouth was wet and hot; they were firm and sweet like peaches. There's a sound coming out from Kafka, a low dangerous growl that sent her stomach to a jolt. That kind of noise haunted Himeko in her dreams. The bane of her fantasies because touching Kafka was never enough. To have her hands roaming over Kafka's body, touching her skin, touching her everything.
Himeko breathed. She felt Kafka was trembling and the first thing Himeko did was pull Kafka to her embrace, seeking that warmth they both desired from each other.
Kafka's fingers dropped to Himeko’s lips and Himeko opened her mouth, chewing on the dainty tips and sucking lightly. Kafka held her gaze, watching Himeko as she pushed the fingers deeper into her mouth, feeling a warm tongue around the digits. When Himeko opened her eyes, all Kafka could hear was the loud, thundering echo of her heart.
“You’re insatiable,” Kafka muttered. Dark. Barely in control.
“Don’t you like it when I’m like this?” Himeko purred, holding Kafka’s wrist to suck her middle and index fingers, pulling them out with an obscenely wet pop. “I’m always sweet for you, Kafka. Would you like more?”
Oh, Kafka wanted more than this . It’s her favorite part.
“Show me,” Kafka husked, begged , and Himeko was thorough.
Red locks splayed on Kafka’s stomach, a head between her thighs, and a pair of flaming amber eyes watching as intense as the relentless lap and nibble on her cunt. The pressure was mounting, coursing through her body in a delicious tremble. Kafka didn’t close her eyes, didn’t let pleasure overwhelm her, because she wanted Himeko to see. Needed Himeko to watch and taste how open and wet Kafka was, how ready and willing her body was, and how she was ready to turn herself for Himeko to use.
Kafka put a hand on Himeko’s hair, now damp because of sweat, and sharply pulled forward. The groan from Himeko vibrated against her clit, and Kafka answered with a choked growl.
“Harder,” Kafka kept pulling, breathlessly. Her chest was heaving. “I won’t break. Do your worst.”
And what is Himeko if she’s not up for a challenge?
She heard a chuckle, followed by a push of fingers inside Kafka, easily, without resistance, because of how wet Kafka was. Another moan broke through Kafka’s lips, torn between a sob and Himeko’s name, and that seemed to push Himeko even further, to please Kafka even harder, as she drove her fingers back and forth with one objective in mind.
Kafka clenched around Himeko’s fingers, clit throbbing as Himeko vigorously sucked, and the pressure was mounting, threatening to spill, and it did spill when Himeko curled her fingers inside, rubbing on the sweet spot that made Kafka reel, and closed her lips around the clit and sucked.
A cry peeled off Kafka’s mouth, body trembling and aching, white heat sparked between her legs and needles behind her eyes. Kafka let her eyes close, the sheet sticking on her back like a second skin, as she greedily inhaled the room’s stuffy air. In the darkness that engulfed her, she heard nothing of Himeko’s call of her name; smelled nothing of lilac but smoke and gunpowder. In the darkness, Kafka saw fire and destruction, gunshots and chaos. And instead of being in Himeko’s embrace, she found herself teetering between life and death, fearless but all for the wrong reasons.
“You’re too good for me,” Kafka muttered at the feeling of soft lips pressing against her face, the side of her lips, her cheeks, kissing the tears away, and she moved her spent body to chase that warmth. “Too good to be true,” she breathed, slightly opening her eyes to see the ambers she loved so much.
“Did I please you?” Himeko answered and finally kissed Kafka on the lips, letting Kafka taste herself, humming in satisfaction when Kafka moaned back into her mouth.
Kafka laughed and pulled Himeko closer, kissing her deeply, with her legs straddling Himeko's hips. Kafka was and warm, wet. Himeko gasped into the kiss.
Kafka turned their position, so Himeko was below her, never breaking the kiss. She saw the bright ember of Himeko’s eyes burning into her, bright and heavy with desire, of want and promises that Kafka didn’t want to venture further. Only this moment, she reminded herself. This is our moment, put her hands around Himeko’s throat and started grinding her wet cunt against Himeko’s.
“Oh,” Himeko gasped, eyes rolled back, chest went rigid. Her hands found Kafka’s hips and squeezed . “Kafka—”
And Kafka moaned back in earnest. Leaning down to swallow Himeko’s moan while their hips continued to grind against each other. It’s so wet down there, shaping against each other in a heady, delicious gloss, making vulgar sounds as Kafka’s cunt slid back and forth, long and hard against Himeko’s. The heat turned up again, only it was blazing this time, with Kafka on top of Himeko, desperately and relentlessly bringing them both into that high.
“Kafka,” Himeko grunted. The growing pleasure and the choke of Kafka’s fingers around her throat was catching up to her. Golden eyes molten, tears threatening to fall but not from pain. “Kafka, you’re—”
“Just think of me,”
Kafka husked, her breaths were getting choppy and tight from the strain. Her eyes went shut; brows met in anguished pleasure. So close.
“Don’t think of anything else. Just me.”
One last stroke and Kafka felt the world just stopped , crumpled into small pieces, pain and pleasure erupting, and how she couldn’t decide which one was stronger. She heard her name, Himeko was calling her, and between it was the noise of gunshots and explosions.
What followed next was only darkness and the comforting sounds of Himeko’s heartbeat.

Sunlight spilled onto Himeko’s bare back through the gap of the window. She curled into the duvet and felt the presence behind her snuggled closer. She looked at the side and faced Kafka, sleeping with her mouth half opened as she snored. Himeko chuckled before placing her hand on Kafka’s cheek, feeling the soft skin under her fingertips.
The snoring stopped.
“Last night isn't enough, I see,” Kafka hummed, mouth curling to a smile.
“You’re just nice to look at.”
“I know that too.” When Kafka opened her eyes, Himeko saw mild amusement flicker in them and her heart went soaring. “Morning already?” she mumbled as she kissed Himeko’s wrist.
“Noon,” Himeko corrected. The sun outside and the humid air was a dead giveaway.
Kafka replied with another groan and stretched her limbs. Himeko’s eyes landed on the hipbones, and she didn’t quick enough to look away when Kafka caught her. “Done checking the inventory?”
“Don’t flatter yourself.”
Kafka pulled Himeko closer with her arms engulfing the younger woman in a secure grip. Himeko let out a relieved exhale as she relaxed on the bed, her back pressed to Kafka’s front. They stayed like that for a moment with Kafka gently kissing the skin on Himeko’s neck.
“Last night was fun,” Kafka began. The tone of her voice was uncharacteristically gentle. “I always lose myself every time I’m with you.”
Himeko chuckled at that. She turned around to look at Kafka. “Now this is new,” she searched Kafka’s eyes. “You never said anything like this before.”
“Is it that weird to admit I like being with you?”
Himeko smiled and tapped Kafka’s nose. “Of course not,” she answered. “I like being with you too,” Himeko took Kafka’s face in her hands. Her thumb was caressing the cheek as Kafka nuzzled closer. “You’re stupid and I love you too much.”
“Are you now?” Kafka questioned back with a lazy smile. “Will you still love me even if I’m secretly a criminal and have ten billion bounties on my head?”
Himeko shouldn't laugh, but she did. Head dropping to Kafka's shoulder, Himeko pressed a kiss against the jewels on the woman's ear, inhaling the sweet scent of peaches. "You don’t scare me," she laughed, lightly kissing Kafka's neck. There's a gasp and Himeko pulled back, taking Kafka's face in her hands. "Now, where were we?"
Kafka chuckled, shaking her head in disbelief. "You're insatiable," was the last thing she said before pushing Himeko back to the bed. “And you’re prettier when you’re under me.”

Loop 300x
The paper crumpled carelessly on the floor, lines of curved letters written in long sentences and walls of paragraphs, the ink smeared at the end of some lines because the writer pressed their pen too hard. The room was small and dark. Books and notes were strewn around and dust had gathered in every nook and cranny. Nobody was alive anymore. Not in this loop.
It will be good days ahead for Kafka. Free from destiny, free to be someone that’s not what she currently is.
The sky outside was golden, neither warm nor comforting. Too bright, no promise of salvation. Only destruction and disintegration.
Kafka and Himeko. In another lifetime.
