Work Text:

There was a good day in Japan today.

The blinding rays of the sun smiled through the window facing the lively street and opening a view of the clear spring sky. They crept inside, leaving traces in the form of sunbeams on the ceiling and illuminated a small room of a hotel near the center of Tokyo, warming its occupant.

Wooyoung was sitting on a ladge bed, leaning back against a pile of pillows, and watching some entertainment show on TV. So far, his vocabulary was only enough to digest the context and the main meaning, and sometimes he even understood some jokes, which he was proud of.

But despite a good day, a good mood did not come.

Maybe it was because the bandage on the ankle pressed unpleasantly on the skin, which irritated him, because he wanted to scratch it terribly, but it didn't work, because the fabric was too dense.

Or maybe because the guys were having a great time at the Disneyland right now, trying all sorts of delicious Japanese snacks and trying out rides, they say Japan has the coolest roller coasters in the world.

Wooyoung sighs. Yunho promised to bring a souvenir with Harry Potter merchandise, he'd better not forget about it.

Wooyoung was already twisting all over, trying to get into a comfortable position.

Now even the Japanese dialect in the background was annoying, so he snapped and, with a sharp movement, picked up the remote control from the bed and pressed the red button.

The room was plunged into silence. All that could be heard was the loud snuffling of Wooyoung, who was puffed up on the bed.

He had to calm down.

But the slippery thoughts that usually reach him only at night (when he feels most defenseless) have managed to cover him with his head right now. Such hateful tears come to the eyes.

Wooyoung hated being weak.

He tries to breathe more slowly, calculating every breath in and out, as San taught him, not allowing panic to take control of his own body.

But it seems the thought of the elder only makes it worse.

San went off to have fun with everyone, leaving Wooyoung alone. By the way, with a injured leg!

He knows that it's childish to be offended by this, because San almost never goes out somewhere to relax when they are abroad. But disappointment still echoed in his chest when San said in the morning that he was going to go to the amusement park with everyone.
Of course, Wooyoung convinced him that it was okay for him to go and have fun for the two of them, although he knew that if he even showed a drop of doubt in his voice or in his eyes, San would never leave him alone.

The elder reads people too well.

Especially Wooyoung.

Therefore, it was doubly stupid to be offended. You let go him yourself - now you suffer alone in this bed.

Vile thoughts began to fill all the space in his head again.

As a professional dancer for more than 6 years, how could you stretch your ankle on stage?

Shame.

You're so stupid Jung Wooyoung.

Do you like being a burden to everyone?

You're absolutely useless right now.

With new tears about to flow down his bronzed cheeks, it became difficult for him to breathe again.

But it's true.
He was sent to hiatus because he is absolutely useless.

Wooyoung grinned bitterly.

There was even less air now.

Thoughts faded into the background, leaving a bitter trace in the mouth as after a long marathon.
He could hear his own heart pounding.

Dum, dum.

The breaths became abrupt and it seems that his eyes began to get cloudy (perhaps it was because of the tears that did not want to stop).

Get a grip, Jung Wooyoung, like this you're just proving your worthlessness.

Wooyoung tried to pull himself together once again, closing his eyes and remembering the calm voice of the elder.

One - inhale

Wooyoung tries to breathe.

Two - exhale

The exhalation turns out to be ragged, but Wooyoung does not give up.

One - inhale

Wooyoung tries to breathe, but his lungs do not obey and it only hurts.

Two-

At first he feels the smell of wet asphalt and tart wood.

Then the warmth of familiar strong arms.

They cover him entirely, shielding with themselves, as if protecting him from everything around.

First of all, from himself.

"Shhh, breathe, baby," the whisper of a beloved low voice makes his eyes water again. - "Do you remember what we learnt: one-inhale."

Wooyoung finally takes a full breath.

"Good boy, and now two - exhale."

Wooyoung is breathing.

The wide chest, pressed tightly against his back, helps to find the pace, breathing with him in unison.

The pain in the chest gradually goes away, and the head becomes pleasantly empty.

Strong, hot hands continue to hold him in their ring, slowly cradling, giving him the necessary time to finally recover.

When he suddenly realizes what has happened, Wooyoung skillfully turns in big arms, burying his nose in the neck, studded with his favorite constellation, and sobs.

"I knew you'd be sitting there overthinking." - The voice of the elder does not sound strict at all, as he might be trying to make it be, but on the contrary, it spreads warmth through Wooyoung's body, forcing him to burrow even more into San's skin, inhaling his natural scent.

"Sanie, why are you here?" - The younger one asks without raising his head, and his arms reach out to fully embrace his boyfriend by the waist, pulling him even closer.

"And where else would I be, love?"- Wooyoung feels a smile spread across the elder's face, showing the world two attractive dimples. He involuntarily smiles too, still not wanting to meet with San face to face.

Wooyoung feels the way the other gently detaches himself from the headboard of the bed and, without letting go of Wooyoung, puts his injured leg on his knee.

He easily almost imperceptibly strokes the skin near the bandage, as if it is made of the most fragile material in the world, and then covers it with his palm, giving warmth.

"You left because of me, right?" - Wooyoung eventually decides that he can't hide forever, and lifts his head, opening his eyes and meeting the two others already looking at him, full of love, which only San is capable of.

He feels like crying again.
But now the reason is completely different.

The elder gently removes his hand from the younger's ankle and covers his cheek, which is reddened from tears, preventing another drop from falling from his eyelashes, wiping it off and then stroking the place where he knows his mole is.

"I left because the guys went to have lunch at the cafe where they serve sashimi," San says, pouting habitually, which makes Wooyoung eager to touch his favorite lips with his own, but he doesn't want to interrupt the older one. "How could I just go with them, knowing that this is your favorite dish, and you're sitting here alone and probably haven't eaten anything since breakfast, am I right?"

Wooyoung involuntarily shrinks under the gaze of the elder. It is very difficult to lie when San is like this.

"I've been waiting... for you." - Wooyoung almost tells the truth, he really lost his appetite from the moment San left the room. But now, involuntarily noticing a package with an intricate Japanese inscription and an image of two koi carps, he feels that he is really hungry.

San looks into his eyes for a few more seconds, either trying to expose him, or pondering the answer, but then gives up and nods.

He must have believed it. Although he rather pretends to, but does not ask any more questions. Instead, with the same thumb that rested on his cheek, he tucks a long strand of the younger's silky hair behind his ear and says softly:

"You're lucky you're pretty, Jung Wooyoung."

The warmth spreads across the younger's chest, giving off a slight tingling at the tips of his fingers. He can't resist and laughs loudly, he doesn't know why (from happiness, probably), causing a smile from the elder.

Now Wooyoung has a chance to admire his favorite dimples directly.

"Let's eat already, Mr. Romantic," Wooyoung reaches for a pocket near the bed, but does not have time to touch it, as the elder stops him.

"And also, Young-ah." - A serious look before him makes Wooyoung startle for a second, forcing him to turn his head sideways, waiting for an answer.

"I'm always here," San puts a wide palm on a painfully familiar place on his thigh. "I'll always be here."

It really seems to be a good day in Japan today.
