Sunstreaker sat at the end of the couch in the rec room while he watched his twin and Cliffjumper play some type of fighting game he was not really interested in as he propped his cheek plate on his fist and feigned interest. Why he had let Sideswipe talk him into joining him was beyond him at this point. He was bored but he could not help but smirk some as Cliffjumper beat the red lambo soundly, while his twin growled in frustration.
Bumblebee limped into the room, dim optics, he was so exhausted but so tired of recharging, he hoped that maybe some time in the rec room with others would help. He perked up a little when he heard Cliffjumper’s crow of triumph from the couch and noted that he could see Sideswipe and Sunstreaker there. A light smile flitted across his lip plates as he made his way over. None of the other minibots were in the room otherwise he might have been swept away by any one of them.
Sunstreaker sat up a bit straighter when Bumblebee came around the edge of the couch, he had felt the other’s hand brush against his elbow as the small mech ran his hand along the outer edge of the arm of the sofa. “Hey Bee.”
Cliffjumper paused the game when he heard Sunstreaker say Bumblebee’s name and it drew both red mechs attention to the yellow minibot.
“Hey,” Bumblebee replied softly and looked like he was about to topple over, optics dim.
Sunstreaker leaned forward and placed a hand on Bumblebee’s shoulder to help steady him. “Are you alright?”
Bumblebee nodded as he looked at the mechs sitting on the couch before he looked back up at Sunstreaker, “Can I sit with you guys?”
“Sure.”
“Yeah.”
“Of course you can,” Sunstreaker commented as he gave Bumblebee’s shoulder a gentle squeeze. He would have helped him up on the couch to sit with them regardless of what his brother and Cliffjumper had said anyway.
Sunstreaker helped Bumblebee climb up onto the couch and helped the small mech settle in next to him as the both turned their optics to the screen as Cliffjumper unpaused the game.
“Slag it!”
“Get him Cliff!” Bumblebee cheered as Sideswipe growled and mumbled obscenities under his breath.
Sunstreaker could not help but chuckle at the yellow minibot’s enthusiasm that just seemed to drive Cliffjumper’s determination to continue to beat his twin soundly. It was the most animated that the golden frontliner had seen Bumblebee since his release from medbay and he could not help but smile. It did not take long for him to be swept up in his enthusiasm but he would both cheer his twin and Cliffjumper on as much as he would egg them on, just to see the smile on Bumblebee’s faceplates.
“I need a break,” Sideswipe commented after nearly two earth hours after Bumblebee joined them. He tossed the controller down on the coffee table.
“Me too,” Cliffjumper tossed his controller onto the table once returned the game to the main menu and stretched.
“How about a snack? I know I could go for a cube right now.” Sideswipe stood up and stretched.
“Sure,” Cliffjumper nodded, before he turned his gaze to Bumblebee “Bro?”
“Maybe just half a cube,” Bumblebee replied after a few kliks.
Cliffjumper tried not to frown as he responded. “Did you fuel this morning? Take your supplements? All of your supplements?”
“I had them this morning,” Bumblebee replied, “I don’t need them again till evening fuel.”
“Afternoon supplements still giving you problems?” Sunstreaker half asked, half commented before the red minibot could respond.
Bumblebee nodded as he leaned into Suntreaker’s side without thinking. “Ratchet doubled my morning dose so I don't have to take them in the afternoon since they kept making my tank too upset.”
“Alright then three and a half cubes it is,” Sideswipe grinned and he started to walk away when he paused and looked to his twin, “Cube Bro.”
“Sure.”
The four of them chatted companionably once Sideswipe returned with the cubes. Bumblebee started to rub at his optics halfway through his small cube. Sunstreaker took the cube before the yellow spy could drop the empty cube when he yawned as it started to slip through his dark digits.
“Maybe we should get you back to your quarters,” Sunstreaker spoke gently.
“Maybe,” Bumblebee sat up, his optics dim. “But I’d rather stay here a little while longer.”
What Sunstreaker did not expect was for the yellow spy to crawl into his lap, fold his arms up in a position that did not really even look comfortable as he rested his helm on his chest plates. Sunstreaker chuckled softly as he wrapped his arms around the small frame as he felt Bumblebee’s systems slow and level out almost immediately as he dropped into recharge. He looked towards Cliffjumper and Sideswipe and frowned as they both sat there with bright grins on their faces. “What?”
“Nothing!”
“Nothin’ Bro!”
The pair of red mechs finished their cubes and went back to playing their game while Sunstreaker leaned back more comfortably on the couch and fell into a light recharge with Bumblebee cuddled in his lap.
