Chapter Text
After the death of his uncle, Sebastian felt he was walking on eggshells whenever near Ominis. Of course no one knew the truth besides Ominis, him and MC. In their classes Sebastian always wanted to reach out to Ominis to try to talk to him. But, he never found the courage to. He doesn’t even know what he would say. He has already caused so much he wasn’t even sure where to even start to ask for Ominis’s forgiveness. So he mostly keeps his distance but could never stop his eyes from naturally gazing to look at Ominis. Longing to just be close with him again before their whole 5th year turned to a mess.
One evening after dinner Sebastian decided to take a stroll around the castle. He needed something to not focus on the ruins of what his life has become. To have lost almost everything and now potentially have lost Ominis, the last person dear to him. He finds himself in the trophy room and decided to randomly read the various trophies presented on the pedestals and walls. Upon closer inspection, he can see a well-hidden door blending in with the wall. With curiosity peaked he unlocks the door and enters.
Inside there are various enchanted items some just floating like the books in the library and others trapped in chests. At the end of the room there is a large mirror. Walking closer he can see the details of the beautiful golden frame, at the top engraved was, “The Mirror of Erised.”
He’s never heard of an enchanted mirror before so he decided to take a look. Walking a step closer to get his reflection in the mirror he freaked out seeing the figure of Ominis standing there so he quickly turned around to see Ominis.
But Ominis wasn’t there.
He turned back to the mirror and saw Ominis clearly standing in the mirror. He looked behind him again into the room and confirmed Ominis was not physically here in the room. Looking back to the mirror what made him a little uncomfortable was the sight of Ominis having button eyes. They were the same color as Ominis’s crystal blue color but…buttons for eyes. The Ominis in the mirror smiled and waved at him innocently. It reminded him of their 4th year when everything was normal and they still greeted each other. He waved back to the mirror with a awkward smile.
The button eyed Ominis seemed to appreciate that and seemed to walk closer to the mirror’s glass barrier if that was even possible. Ominis placed the palm of his hand up against the glass. Looking to Sebastian as if asking Sebastian to come closer and do the same. It shocked Sebastian seeing as if the person was a real being and the glass really was just a small barrier between them. Sebastian was extremely hesitant but his emotions were getting the better of him as this was the first and closest contact they’ve had in weeks. Knowing this wasn’t Ominis but magic but he felt starved and desperate. He walked and stood in front of the mirror observing all the details of Ominis’s face. How he missed that flawless hair and the moles on Ominis’s cheek that formed a constellation. The softness and natural glow of his skin. He will admit he really missed Ominis’s normal eyes. Normally he could get lost in just admiring them, he tried to not let the buttons get to him.
Slowly he lifted his hand and his hand slowly reached towards the glass of the mirror. Just to test the boundary he reached for only the fingertip of his index finger to touch the glass. And the next thing he knew there was a flash of light shinned brightly and blinded him. When he opened his eyes again. He was in a hallway. Soft streaming of magic lit the hallway, the walls similar to the school library but with a mixture of night clouds and the stars shining softly on the ceiling. He observed his surroundings and saw two mirrors now. On one end, one mirror displaying the room he was in prior. The opposite end displayed the Hogwarts entrance doors. A wave of nostalgia hit. He remembered the feeling when he first walked through those doors for the first time. How the world of magic and wonders awaited him beyond the doors. As if enchanted himself his feet naturally brought him to the front of the Hogwarts doors.
He placed a hand on each of the doors
Took a deep breath.
And opened the doors.
