Work Text:
It had been three months since Caelus noticed the mark on Blade’s wrist.
He had the exact same mark on his left wrist too, after all. The small red mark had been there for as long as he could remember.
He had heard of soulmates, of course. In this world, there were so many books, TV shows, and movies about the subject that it was mundane at this point.
Even his sister had found her supposed soulmate in the woman, Kafka not that long ago. However, he never thought that he would find someone that could possibly be his soulmate.
That was until he met Blade. Encouraged by March, and on a whim, Caelus had decided that the time was right to get a raccoon tattoo on his right forearm. It was supposed to have been funny. Everyone called him that particular animal as a nickname. It made sense.
Caelus rubbed at the now long-healed artwork on his arm as he yawned, sitting up in his bed. He wasn’t sure what to do. Blade was an interesting person. He was always moody, and to most others, he could be rather scary. The man didn’t speak much either, but when he did, Caelus swore that he could listen to whatever he wanted to talk about for days on end. He seemed to know a lot about almost everything, and he explained things in the most interesting way.
His eyes fell to the artwork on his forearm as Caelus attempted to wake up more. He couldn’t help but smile each time that he saw that art of the raccoon digging through trash on his body. He had only given Blade a vague description of what he wanted, and Blade had gone above and beyond.
The man was a true artist, a craftsman really.
Which was why he wanted to be close to him. If he noticed the soulmate mark on his wrist at some point, then great. But he mainly wanted to be close to Blade because he was an interesting person.
It didn’t help that the man was too handsome for his own good either.
He had thought much about how to go about this. Blade wouldn’t just speak to him for no reason. He had tried that so many times already anyway.
No, he had a much better plan this time. He was going to get another tattoo from Blade. He had so many sketches of the exact same sword over and over again around Blade’s workstation when he came to visit the guy. He hadn’t seen the sword tattooed on Blade anywhere either.
As far as he knew, it wasn’t anyway.
He could get that particular tattoo, and have more time to speak with Blade. The man couldn’t just ignore him or shoo him away with this plan either.
He might even agree to have dinner with him afterward.
This would work out great. It had to. He had no other ideas if this didn’t work.
With that thought in mind, Caelus forced himself out of bed, checking the time on his phone. By the time he got a shower and got dressed, Blade would probably be at the tattoo shop.
He moved as quickly as could, showering and throwing a hoodie on once he was dried off.
With his pants on, he grabbed his phone, moving to text Silver Wolf just to make sure that Blade was indeed working today.
[Is Blade working today?]
Not even a minute passed before Caelus heard his phone going off again.
[He should be. Just left not that long ago. Good luck.]
He needed all the luck he could get. Blade wasn’t an easy person to figure out, but that’s what made him all the more alluring to him.
He could gradually introduce the idea of being soulmates to the man. They could start out as friends if they needed to, he didn’t care much. He just wanted to spend more time with Blade.
Caelus made his way down into the city, glancing up at the rather gloomy clouds before he spotted the tattoo shop not far off.
The lights were on. That was at least a good sign compared to the dark clouds signaling rain soon.
He glanced in through the glass windows of the tattoo shop, seeing that head of dark hair drawing away at his station. It didn’t seem like anyone else was working alongside Blade today.
Good. This was the perfect chance then. Blade couldn’t be distracted if he was the only other person in the shop with him.
He sucked in a breath, he could do this. He had talked to Blade plenty of times before. Caelus rolled up the sleeve of his hoodie, making sure the soulmate mark on his wrist was visible before he pushed the door open, listening to the bell above the door jingle as he made his way inside.
He waved to Blade, grinning at the sight of the moody man.
“Blade!” He didn’t waste time, moving to the man’s side, grinning as he watched the man return his attention to his artwork. “Working by yourself today?”
“What are you doing here, Raccoon?” The boy had no reason to be here. Not really. Caelus had been finding every excuse in the world to come and visit him.
Blade’s eyes fell to the boy’s mark on his wrist. He had been well aware that they shared the same marking, but it wasn’t worth the hassle to act upon it.
But if Caelus was going to insist upon bothering him every day like this, perhaps it was. It was high time that Caelus realized what he had gotten himself into.
He could play the soulmate game well enough if only to get the boy to leave him the hell alone once Caelus realized what he was in for.
“I can’t come see you?” Caelus teased, laughing a bit as he settled beside the man. Blade was an exceptional artist. Each stroke of his pen seemed to move effortlessly. “I actually came to get a tattoo, Blade.”
Oh? Blade looked up from his work, looking over the boy trying to determine if he was serious or not.
“And what are you thinking of getting, Caelus? Another raccoon? Are you trying to transform yourself into the animal now?”
Another raccoon. That was tempting, but no. He had a plan in mind, and he was going to be sticking to it. Caelus shook his head, nodding to the drawings of the sword around his workstation.
“I want to get the sword that you always draw,” Caelus replied easily. “It looks really cool. You seem interested in tattooing it on someone as well.”
The sword he always drew was his personal sword that he kept at his apartment. The boy could not be serious. Blade set his artwork aside for now, leaning in closer to Caelus.
“Are you sure you want such a thing for the right reasons?” Blade inquired, keeping close to Caelus, watching that pink color flush those cheeks. “Or are you making another excuse to see me again?”
What? How did he know that? Caelus’ heart pounded in his chest as he felt Blade trace along the mark on his wrist.
Had he noticed it all of this time?! His eyes widened as he tried to process what was happening. The man was too close for him to be able to think straight.
“I always want to see you,” Caelus confessed, refusing to back down. He leaned in closer, attempting to see if Blade would be the first to pull back. “Is that so wrong, Blade?”
It was. It was one of the worst things that the boy could possibly do. He didn’t know what the hell he was asking for with this.
“Is it because of this here?” Blade asked, holding up Caelus’ wrist to show the mark present there. “I am not so foolish as to not know anything about the soulmate process. I’ve heard of others finding their mates. I am sure that you’ve seen mine at this point as well.”
It wasn’t like he hid it. He had no real reason to. It was just a mark. He had plenty of those along his body, be it from scars from training, or tattoos he had given himself.
Marks weren’t that special.
“I have,” Caelus murmured. There was no point in lying to Blade. It wasn’t exactly as if he was a good liar to begin with. “I’ve seen your mark.” He reached forward, his fingers finding Blade’s exact same marking on his left wrist.
His mark was rather pretty if Caelus was being honest, however, that wasn’t what drew him to Blade.
“I’ve wanted to be close to you, because I like you, Blade. You are so interesting, and I want to be close to you.” Caelus grinned as he leaned in further. “Your good looks also help. You’re so handsome, Blade. Your eyes are like jewels.”
Oh, but the boy really had done it now. If he was going to be saying such things to him, then he wasn’t going to hold back. Blade tangled his hand in that ashen hair, his lips slamming against the others.
He wasn’t going to listen to this. If he was going to be soft with him like this, then he was going to show him how rough he was.
It wasn’t like anyone was going to interrupt them. Not with the pouring rain outside.
His lips moved against Caelus’ those words ringing in his ears as he threw his hoodie and shirt aside as his hands moved lower to get those shorts off of him.
Handsome, pretty. Caelus gave out those compliments too freely. This was his fault. He laid the boy against his workspace, knocking things over, but he didn’t give a shit right now. Blade’s teeth bit and sucked at that pale skin that boy had, listening to Caelus dare to give him the most enticing noise that he had heard in such a long time.
“You’ve done this to yourself, Caelus,” Blade warned, pushing his pants down enough for this. “There’s no going back for you after this.”
They would be mated the moment that he finished fucking Caelus. The man underneath him should have thought about this before saying such pretty words to him so easily.
“Have I? Then this is probably the best situation I could have ever gotten myself into, Blade.”
Blade frowned. If he had time to tease, then he clearly wasn’t doing enough. He didn’t waste time, pushing two fingers into Caelus’ mouth.
“Suck.” He commanded. He didn’t have lube around the shop. This would have to do. It kept that mouth of his shut too.
Caelus moaned around Blade’s fingers, his tongue swirling around his digits, his hand covering Blade’s wrist to take his fingers deeper into his mouth.
“Look at you,” Blade breathed, moving his fingers in and out of Caelus’ mouth, listening to those lewd noises escape Caelus. “Taking my fingers in your mouth as if they were my cock. Is this what you wanted all of this time Caelus? You just wanted me to fuck you.”
If that was what he wanted, then he would all too easily give Caelus what he wanted. He was too far in to dare to back down.
Blade pulled his fingers out, pushing those legs open and beginning to tease that hole he found with his fingers.
“Blade,” Caelus breathed, sucking in a breath as he felt Blade damn near just shove his fingers into him. His eyes rolled back, his hands reaching out to cling to the man’s shirt.
“This is what you wanted, is it not?” Blade pushed his fingers in deeper, leaning over Caelus, his mouth capturing the boy’s before he could respond.
He had no doubt of that fact. There was no other reason that Caelus kept spilling precious words to him. He wanted to be mated. He wanted to be fucked underneath him like this every single day.
His tongue slipped inside Caelus’ mouth, exploring every inch as he worked Caelus open with his fingers. The other had no right to be this warm like his words were.
Caelus had to pull back for air, another moan escaping him as he rocked his hips against Blade’s fingers. He really hadn’t come here for this, but now it was hard to think of much else.
“You’re so handsome, Blade,” Caelus managed, his eyes meeting those red eyes as they narrowed on him. “I care about you so much. You’re all that I can think about.”
“I better be,” Blade growled. He had started this. He wasn’t going to back down now. He pulled his fingers out from Caelus’ ass, replacing them with his cock, pushing himself in deep in one fluid motion, without bothering for more preamble.
If Caelus was determined to go through with his mating process, then he damn well better be all the boy could think about. Caelus was his at this point.
His hips moved against Caelus’ his hand finding Caelus’ cock, stroking him as he bit down on Caelus’ neck, listening to those moans fill the room.
“I wonder what those companions would think if they saw you like this, Caelus?” Blade purred, picking up the pace, moaning softly at the warmth wrapped around his manhood. “Moaning for your soulmate's cock like this. Do you feel how well you wrap around me? How only I can make you feel like this?”
Caelus could only moan in response. He was feeling too much. He wasn’t going to be able to keep up much longer. He felt too warm, too full, too excited about all of this.
“Blade,” Caelus cried, his hips meeting each and every thrust that the man gave him. “More, please, I feel so close. I’m going to come, I think.”
Blade pinned Caelus’ wrists above his head with one hand, as the other continued to stroke his cock, as his hips moved with no control. This was all Caelus’ fault. The boy felt too good against him, looking like a piece of artwork against his work station.
“Come with me,” He demanded, almost pleadingly of all things. Pushing himself in one more time, cursing as he lost control, spilling into the boy feeling himself leaking out as Caelus moaned his name, his come coating his shirt, and Caelus’ chest.
His lips captured Caelus’, moving against his without much care.
He needed to take the boy to his home, they needed to clean up before Kafka or one of those idiots came in here and dared to see them like this.
Caelus had done this to himself. He was stuck with him now, like the naive fool he was. However, he couldn’t complain that much, he supposed.
He always liked raccoons, Blade thought as he traced along the boy’s tattoo.
He would have to give him more artwork to show off since he wanted to look like a work of art himself.
He would have to simply make him his personal walking canvas then.
