Work Text:
Sami doesn’t know why he even opens his mouth. Jey was coming out there to help him. Even after he left him in the ring by himself, Jey still came to find him to check on him. Why couldn’t he just be grateful that his friend put his body on the line to come and protect him? Nope. Instead, he blames Jey for something that isn’t in his control.
Kevin getting traded did hurt. They were both on the same page–about most things–and were trying to get their championships back. All of those plans are ruined. Now both him and Kevin are alone without each other. Well, Sami isn’t alone, and he knows that. The one person that’s still here for him thinks that he’s pissed at him. Sami has to go find him and explain how he’s feeling.
He starts walking from the spot where Jey left him and started on his mission to find the other man. Starting in the direction where he saw Jey walking, he started to ask the people around the area if they knew where his friend went. It seems like he disappeared out of thin air because no one had a clue where he went. It felt like a long shot, but Sami pulls out his phone and clicks on Jey’s contact information and tries to call him. Straight to voicemail. Damn. Maybe a text will do.
[8:26pm]: Sami: Hey, man. I know what I said was so shitty. Could we talk before your match?
He stares at his phone as the message is sent and waits for a response. Nothing comes. Sami thinks he may be busy. Or just ignoring you because you were being an ass. Letting out a big sigh, he locks his phone and stuffs it back into his pocket. Sami started walking in a random direction until he ran into Drew. He hoped he could slip past him, but of course luck isn’t on his side tonight.
“Aye, Sami.” Drew said with a hand on Sami’s arm to stop him.
“Hey Drew. I’d love to talk, but I gotta find Jey. I–” Sami starts before he’s interrupted by the other man.
“Sami, Sami, Sami. When you gonna learn that Jey is just using you to get in the good graces of the locker room?” Drew questions, causing Sami to roll his eyes at him.
“Here we go with this again. Jey is a changed man. Sure, he did bad things when he was in the Bloodline, but he’s been trying his best to make amends with everyone he wronged. Everyone in the locker room sees it but you.” Sami retorted. He’s so tired of hearing everyone talking bad about the Uso.
“You forgave him too easily, after everything he’s done to you and your so-called best friend Kevin. It doesn’t make sense to me,” Drew states, “Unless there’s more going on between the two of you.” The statement caught Sami off guard. What the hell is that supposed to mean?
“Listen, Drew. I don’t have time to even ask what that is supposed to mean. Is there a reason you stopped me?” Sami challenges, tired of this conversation. He doesn’t have time to read in between the lines on what the Scottish man was trying to say to him. Drew shrugs, looking pretty smug.
“I was going to tell you how much I respected you. For getting out of the Bloodline, fighting against them, even taking their tag team championships. But I can’t get over how much you care about Jey, even with everything he’s done to you. You’re too nice. If you don’t change your mentality, you’ll never be world champion.” Drew finishes, causing Sami to roll his eyes.
“Yeah, alright, man. Think what you want. I don’t even know why I’m talking to you.” and with that, Sami pushes past Drew, continuing on his quest to find his friend. As he looks around, he can’t help but think about what Drew said. Not about not being world champion; he’s heard that time and time again throughout his career. Sami is thinking about what he meant when he said that he thinks there is more going on between him and Jey. He’s sure Drew is just saying that to get under his skin, but it, in a way, has Sami nervous. He knows he loves Jey, but he doesn’t want people thinking it was romantic because it isn’t. Right?
As he travels around the arena, he walks past a monitor that’s showing tonight’s show. Jey’s voice takes him out of his thoughts as he stops and watches his friend with his tag team partner doing an interview. Sami hears the interviewer ask Jey about their interaction earlier in the night. He felt himself become anxious of what the other’s answer was going to be.
“Well,” Jey starts, “I wanted to go out and help Sami. He always has my back and wanted to return the favor, but it seems like he would rather have someone else help him. We got a history, I get it, but I thought we was past it. It is what it is, ya know.” he shrugs, looking dejected. Sami never wanted him to feel this way, and it breaks his heart to know his friend feels this way. Shame rushes through his body. The interview continues on, but he’s swimming in his own head, trying to figure out the best course of action to salvage his friendship. Does Jey even want to be his friend anymore? God, that sounded juvenile.
Deciding he needed some time to himself to process everything, he goes off to find a locker room with the least amount of people possible. Sami goes off to the corner where no one else was and looks at his phone. Finding his way back to his messages, he goes to Jey’s message thread and sees that his former partner hasn’t messaged back but has seen the text. A sick feeling washes over him. He debates on sending another text, but Jey has a match he has to worry about. Sami feels like an idiot, but there is no one to blame but him. Going to his contracts, he calls the first person to come to mind.
“Hello?” He hears Kevin’s voice through his phone. A sense of relief comes to him. It was nice to hear his best friend’s voice.
“Hey, Kev. Sorry to call so late. Hope I’m not bothering you.” Sami says, suddenly realizing that it was past 9pm.
“Of course not, buddy. You sound like shit. You okay?” Kevin asks, worried. He’s glad that Kevin knows him so well. He can tell his feelings without any words needed.
“Uh, no, man. I kinda fucked up.” he admits. Kevin is quiet for a few seconds before he speaks again.
“Let me guess. It has something to do with what you said to Jey at the beginning of the night?” Kev questions, sounding like he already knew the answer. Sami rubs his neck nervously.
“Yeah, I was too harsh. I knew it wasn’t his fault. He doesn’t have that kind of power. It just sucks that we aren’t together anymore, especially with how well we were working together. But I feel like I’ve messed up mine and Jey’s friendship.” he says, sorrowly. The whole situation sucks.
“Well, given how you’re head over heels for his ass, I can see why that would be a problem.” Kevin states matter of factly. Sami pauses, making sure he heard what his partner said.
“What?”
“You heard me, asshole. It’s pretty obvious. I’ve known you for 20 plus years. I can tell when you got the hots for someone.” Kevin chuckles. Of course he thinks it’s funny.
“Why do you think that?” Sami has to know.
“That you want to fuck Jey? Where do I start? How about the way you hug him? Like you never want to let him go. The way you look at him like you want him to kiss right then and there, even when we’re in the ring. Sami, when he came over to Raw, you’ve spent almost all of your time trying to defend him from everyone. How you continuously forgive him and always give him the benefit of the doubt. You guys have a fucking handshake, for God’s sake. What about our WrestleMania match where you cradled his face while he was on his knees and touched your noses together. Didn’t you whisper something to him? That’s not really a normal thing to do between friends, man. I mean, do I gotta go on?” Kevin explains like it's the most obvious thing in the entire world. Sami wonders if he’s really like that; he puts his head in his hands, becoming exhausted with the situation. Kevin takes his silence to continue talking.
“Listen, man. Just try and talk to him. He has a weird soft spot for you too. He cares about you. Just go and talk.” Kevin reasons, “Listen, I gotta get going. Good luck, man. Love you.”
“Thanks, Kev. Love you too. I’ll talk to you later.” and with that, he was once again left by himself with his thoughts.
The Intercontinental championship match came to an end, meaning that Jey and Cody were next on the show. He makes his way out of the locker room to find a TV where he could watch the match, preferably by himself. Luck was on his side because Sami found a small conference room with a TV he could watch. Turning it on, he sees the man that has been on his mind all night grace his screen. He couldn’t help but smile when he watched Jey make his way to the ring. When he got to the ring and went on the turnbuckle to interact with the crowd, Sami noticed how his eyes lingered on Jey’s form; he would be lying if he said he hadn't noticed how attractive the other man was. It was clear as day but still Sami couldn’t help himself. Has he always done this, check out his totally platonic friend? Kevin thinks so, he remembered.
The match started and nothing too eventful is happening so far. Judgement Day is pulling the same stuff that they always do. At this point, every opponent of theirs knows the tricks; figuring out ways to get over these tricks are a different story. Sami watches closely as Jey becomes the legal man. Jey moves with such confidence and skill. It’s a gift to watch. He thinks about how amazing it is to see Jey on his own, so he can shine individually from his twin.
As he starts to enjoy the match between the two teams, Dom makes his way out and disrupts the match up. Could they win once without cheating? They pull the usual ploys to get a win over their opponents. Sami can’t just sit here and watch them be outnumbered; Jey was out there when he needed him, and now is his time to return the favor. Without much more thought, he is up and out of the room towards the gorilla. Sami pushes the curtain aside, ignoring the producers who tried to stop him from getting to the ring. Running down the aisle, he gets to the squared circle in time to grab Dom’s leg, pulling him down and attacking him. It felt good. The numbers are finally equal. As he is taking care of Dom, he was hit by Damien and thrown on the ground outside of the ring. Sami is dazed from the aggression against him. Not sure how long he’s been down, he tries to make it to his feet. A red figure is seen out of the corner of his eye; when he looks up, he sees Jimmy on Jey’s side of the ring, standing on the apron to deliver a kick to his twin brother’s face. Jimmy quickly jumps over the barricade before anyone else can get to him. Sami is slow moving to get to the ring, but he’s too late.
One.
Two.
Three.
Finn pinned Jey to win the championships. The Judgement Day is celebrating in the ring before they all roll out towards the ramp. Sami slides in to get to Jey. Crouching down, he leans over Jey’s body, laying against the mat.
“Jey, hey. I’m here. You okay?” Sami asks, checking Jey’s body over for any visible injuries. Seeing there was none, he moved his eyes to his face, not realizing the other man was looking at him the whole time.
“Sami, the hell you doin’ out here?” Jey sharply replies. Well, he’s still mad. Trying to ignore the somber feeling, Sami tries to explain himself.
“I saw you guys were outnumbered, so I came to help. Make it fair. I didn’t want you to lose your titles.” Sami elaborates, hoping that he could convey that he cared about Jey and his match. Jey rolls his eyes as he sits up in an upright position.
“We didn’t need yo help! If Jimmy’s ass didn’t come out here, we woulda won.” he snaps back, looking at Sami with a glare. It reminded him of the time while in the Bloodline, where Jey didn’t trust or like him; that was so long ago and they’ve made it so far from that. Now, it feels like they’ve taken 20 steps back. Sam bows his head and nods.
“Okay, sorry. I’m gonna go check on Cody.” He says , as he rolls out of the ring on the side of the announce table. Cody was lying in the rubble of the destroyed table, barely moving. Sami kneels down to look at him. He was in bad shape, but luckily, the backstage medics came and started evaluating him; Cody was in good hands. Seeing that he was taken care of, Sami makes his way past the ring, not sparing a glance at Jey, who was still sitting there in disbelief. He didn’t want to see the look of anger on the man’s face, not again. Keeping on his path, Sami walks up the ramp and into the back. The producers were too worried about Cody and the destruction caused by the match to even care about Sami and him disobeying them to go out and help. He rushed to the back, grabbed his bag, and made it to his rental car without saying a word to anyone. He didn’t want to talk to anyone but Jey, and it was clear that he had no plans to talk to him.
Pulling into the hotel parking lot, he hurried to grab his bags and check in. Sami just needed to be by himself, away from everyone and everything. Tonight was all too much from his conversations with Drew and Kev, his disagreement with Jey, and him telling Sami off at the end of the night. So many emotions all at once. He was overwhelmed and didn’t know what to do. Dropping his bag on the ground, Sami made his way to the bed, putting his head in hands; he sat there in silence, just listening to the analog clock on the wall tick away. He felt like that was all he could do.
His mind started to wander to Kevin’s words again. Is that really how he acted with Jey? Sami has gotten close with Jey over the past year, so it makes sense that he cares about him. They’re friends. It’s understandable. He just wanted everyone to forgive Jey because he has truly changed and wished that everyone else saw that. Sami thought about how he always thought of Jey as a special person, even when the other man didn’t like or trust him. Their friendship grew, and he soon realized that he wanted to spend all of his time with Jey, whether it was riding together to shows or going out together with the rest of the family after work. No matter what they did, Sami would be happy to go along as long as Jey was by his side. Jey’s personality, with his sense of humor and how he’s able to make the whole room laugh, genuinely brightens his life. The thought of not having him in his life causes Sami heartache. He doesn’t want to be without him.
That thought makes Sami stop. I don’t want to be without him. He knows he loves Jey, but that assessment causes Sami to question what kind of love it was. Friend? Brother?
Lover?
Rubbing down his face, he decides he’s going to try and text his friend again. Sami stares at the screen debating on sending it until he chooses to click send.
[12:46am] Sami: Hi Jey. I know you’re still mad at me. I get it, but if you want to, I would love to talk about it.
Anxiously, he waits for a reply until, once again, he sees the word “read” under his message but no reply. Sami lets out a shaky breath and puts down his phone. What could be done tonight was done. Defeated, he quickly showers and then throws himself into bed. Sleep tries to elude him, but Sami finally falls asleep for the night.

Since he’s gotten home the following day, Sami tries and keeps his mind off of the events of the previous night. Still, Jey hasn’t said anything to him since he basically told him off. Grabbing his phone, he dials Kevin’s number, needing someone to talk to. Kevin answers after a few rings.
“Hey buddy! How are you?” Kevin greets, causing a small smile to grace his face.
“Hey Kev. I’m sorry for calling again, but I really need to talk to someone.” Sami said, shyly. He knows his friend doesn’t care but the need to apologize was there.
“You already know I’m here for you. More Jey problems?” He asks without the sound of judgment.
“Yeah.”
“Alright, man. Hit me.” Kevin requests. Sami exhales, trying to get his head on straight to be able to explain how he was feeling.
“I’m not sure how I feel about Jey,” Sami starts, “I know I care about him; everyone knows that. I just don’t know how far my caring goes.” he finishes, wincing at himself, hoping that he conveyed what he meant correctly. Kevin pauses.
“So, basically what I’m hearing is you know you love him but don’t know what kind of love it is.” Kevin says, matter of factly. Sami stops. How does he know exactly what I’m thinking?
“Uh, yeah, pretty much, yeah.” Sami replies, sheepishly. He feels his face burn up.
“Okay. Let’s start like this. How would you feel if you two never spoke again?” Kevin questions, trying his best to help his brother out. Sami thinks.
“I would feel heartbroken. We just started being friends after the whole Bloodline business, and it kills me to think that I might lose him again. I don’t want to be without him again.” he admits, laying his soul bare. Kevin is quiet for a moment.
“Well, if that’s not your answer, I don’t know what is.” Kev simply states, like that response was the answer to Sami’s dilemma.
“Not really, no.” Sami replies, still confused. He’s still as confused with that statement as he was last night talking to Kevin.
“Have you tried calling your man?” he asked.
“I texted him, twice. Didn’t answer either time.” Sami discloses, embarrassed.
“Dammit, Sami. Call the man. It’s better to talk about your problems than text.” Kevin says, probably rolling his eyes, “Listen, I’m hanging up. Call. Him.”
“Okay! Okay. He’s not gonna answer, but I’ll try.” he concedes, knowing his friend isn’t going to take no as an answer. Kev is a man of his word and hangs up on his best friend without another word. Wiping his sweaty hands on his jeans, he looks up Jey’s contact information for what it feels like the millionth time. He presses the call button as he lets out a large exhale. The dial tone goes and goes, secretly hoping that it may be the other man taking a little longer to get to his phone. There’s nothing but voicemail. Sami feels anguish wash over him and tears prickle in his brown eyes; he knew it wasn’t going to work but still had his hopes up like an idiot. Knowing if he kept thinking about it, it would feel worse, Sami decides to be productive around the house and packing for the next show.
Night falls before he knows it. He ends his night in bed, looking at his messages to Jey. Still no response. Tossing his phone across the bed, he roughly turns to lie on his side and stare at the wall. Soon, he falls into a restless sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning, Sami continues on keeping his mind busy, trying not to think of the other man and his feelings towards him. It will do him no good to sit and wallow in it. He makes his way to the kitchen to make himself breakfast and coffee when there’s a knock on his front door. Confused, he makes his way to the door and opens it without looking at the peephole. Sami's eyes widen when he sees who is on the other side of the door.
It’s Jey.
A bag in hand and a shy expression on his face. Sami just stares for another beat before he talks.
“Jey, uh, hey. What are you doing here?” he asks, confusion still on his face. How did he find my house?
“To talk. Can I come in?” Jey replies, fidgeting with the strap of his bag on his back. Lost for words, Sami nods and steps aside so the other man can walk in. He can’t help but watch him as he walks by, still shocked. Closing the door, Sami turns to see Jey awkwardly standing in the middle of the living room. The two just stare at each other, secretly hoping the other starts the conversation. Sami decides on an ice breaker of some sort.
“I was just about to make breakfast. Do you want any?” Sami proposes, hoping he says yes so he can burn off the nervous energy inside of him.
“Yeah, I’d like that. Thanks, man.” Jey says with a slight smile. He hasn’t smiled at Sami in a minute. He’s suddenly not as nervous. Nodding, he walks into the kitchen and starts on making the pair’s meal. He grabbed out his ingredients and turned on the stove. With Sami facing the stove, he hears Jey moving around until he hears footsteps walking to the table, that is close enough to the kitchen without being in it.
“How’d you find me?” Sami questions, keeping his back turned.
“Uh, a friend.” Jey admits. He let out a small laugh. Sami missed that sound. “Yeah, I got a call yesterday mornin’, sayin’ how we should talk and clear the air. At first, I didn’t wanna come but did some thinkin’ and got on the next plane over.” Sami chose to ask about this friend later on.
“So you ignored my texts and call but show up at my house?” Sami asks, trying to keep the bitterness out of his voice. He keeps busy as he talks, finishing the first omelet and starting the second.
“Yeah, that don’t make sense, do it?” Jey admits, toying with the string on his sweatshirt. They don’t say much after that with Sami finishing up cooking. He places the plate in front of Jey and grabs his own. They eat in silence.
With both of them finished, Sami grabs both plates and places them in the sink. He feels Jey’s eyes on him; he tries to not feel anxious.
“Sami,” Jey says, causing the man to turn and look at him, “can we talk now?”
Sami nods and starts walking to the living room, knowing the other man will follow. They sat down, with Sami looking down, toying with his fingers. He doesn’t know why Jey came all this way, but he didn’t have a good feeling about it. Sami speaks first.
“I just want to say I’m sorry about what I said.” Sami starts, still looking down at his hands, “I was just upset about Kevin being traded. The trade blindsided me, and I needed someone to blame.”
He glanced up to look at Jey and saw him running his hand down his face, rubbing his chin roughly. A habit Sami has seen him do when he’s anxious. We’re in the same boat then. Jey is still silent, so Sami feels like he needs to continue explaining his actions.
“With Kevin gone, I felt alone. We were partners.” Sami explains, seeing Jey’s furrowed eyebrows. Realizing that once again he misspoke, he tries to remove the foot from his mouth, “You had Cody and the championships; that came with its own problems. I wanted you to put all your focus on yourself. You had titles to defend. My plate is just full, and I’m constantly in my own head. I’m just really sorry, Jey.” he concludes lamely.
“I know, man.” Jey simply says. Sami looks at him, confused.
“You know?”
“Yeah, uce. I know you sorry. I just had to work through some stuff.” he reveals hesitantly, rubbing his chin, anxiously.
“What kind of stuff, Jey?” Sami questions, wanting to hear his friend’s feelings.
“Do you know why I came back after Jimmy betrayed me? Why I wanted to come to Raw, you know, besides to get away from the Bloodline?” Jey asks, suddenly getting off topic. Sami isn’t sure where this line of questioning is coming from. He stops before he shakes his head no. Jey looks him in the eyes.
“I came back to be there with you,” he confessed. Sami’s eyes widened at the statement.
“Why?” is the only thing he can get out.
“We was so close before you left the Bloodline. Always laughin’ and jokin’. Missed that. When Jimmy did what he did, I knew that you was the only one I could trust. You my family. You know when you came out on my first night, I thought you was comin’ to beat my ass. But there you was, givin’ me the ‘I’m proud of you’ speech. You and yo damn speeches,” he laughs, causing Sami to lightly chuckle. The atmosphere lightened a bit. Jey continues.
“Hearin’ you say that it should be KO here instead of me hurt. I might be partnerin’ with Cody, but you’re my guy. I may not be yours, but you’re my go-to.” he admits. Sami is taken back again; he didn’t know that Jey thought so highly of him.
“Jey, I didn’t think I was that important to you, honestly.” the red haired man confessed. He knew him and Jey were close, but he didn’t know the care went to a higher level. Jey looked at him like he grew two heads.
“Uce, of course you are! You been there for me through everythin’ that happened with my family. Like I said, you family,” Jey pauses like he’s contemplating on his next words, “I love you.”
Those words caused Sami’s heart to pound. The other man has told him he loved him numerous times during their time in the Bloodline, but for some reason, his body had a different reaction to it. Taking a second to think, he realizes that he wishes to hear those words in a different context. Why would I want that? It hit him.
Because Sami Zayn is in love with Jey Uso.
It made sense. He told Kevin last night that he would be heartbroken if they never made up. His eyes wandered on the other man’s body more times than he would like to admit, admiring the man’s natural beauty. Sami looked forward to seeing him. At times when he did see Jey, he would feel himself wanting to be as close to the man as he could. He said he didn’t want to be without Jey.
He feels sick.
The other man must have seen the change in his expression.
“Sami, you okay?” he asked, frowning in concern. Sami shakes his head. He wasn’t okay. Jey moves closer to him to get a better look at his face. With him so close, Sami found himself looking between the soft, brown eyes and lips. He doesn’t even know how truly distracting he is. The handsome man was talking, but he wasn’t hearing a word, preoccupied with the racing thoughts in his mind. Before he could even think about it, Sami is leaning in towards Jey, connecting their lips. His rough lips met a soft, frozen pair; he noticed that the other man was unmoving. Holy shit. He is kissing Jey.
Pulling back quickly, he almost throws himself off of the couch to see the Samoan man’s eyes bugging out of his head. Sami is on his feet and across the room in a flash.
“Holy shit! Oh my God! I’m so sorry!” Sami shouts. He starts pacing, mind racing a mile a minute. Why did he do that?! What in the hell was he thinking?! Just jumping up and kissing him? Sami can’t help but think what Jey is thinking. Is he repulsed by what just happened? Is he going to kick his ass and storm out?
While these thoughts were swirling around in his head, he didn’t hear the other man get up from his spot on the couch and make his way towards Sami. A gentle hand on his forearm is what breaks him out. Sami stops in his tracks and looks down to the hand; his eyes follow up the arm, to the shoulder, to the face of Jey. The expression on the handsome man’s face isn’t one he was expecting. Instead of disgust or anger, he sees softness and concern.
“I need you to breathe for me, ‘kay?” Jey says, now both hands on each of Sami’s shoulders, eyes examining his face, “You okay?”
“What?” is all he can get out. Why is Jey so calm about this? How is he so calm?
“I said, ‘you okay?’. You freaked out on me.” He simply states, still searching Sami’s eyes like they had the answer. He couldn’t help but look back. Sami shook his head.
“No. I kissed you. Pretty aggressively, I might add.” he explains. Jey actually laughed. What the hell is going on?!
“Yeah, I know. Caught me off guard a little.” Jey chuckles, hands still placed on Sami’s shoulders, but now his thumbs are gently rubbing across the fabric of his shirt. Confusion was on full display on the red haired man’s face; he had no clue what was happening.
“Jey,” he starts, “I don’t understand. What’s happening between us?” He has to know. None of this is making sense to him. Usually Jey is easy to read, emotion displayed clearly on his expressive face, but now, Sami has no idea how to navigate this situation. He doesn’t want to wreck their relationship even more.
“I don’ know, uce. What you want to happen?” Jey inquires, causing Sami to raise his head and finally look back at him. He opened and closed his mouth a couple times, not sure what to say next.
“I-I don’t know. I really don’t know.” He replies softly. He’s never felt this nervous or scared; this is uncharted territory. Warm hands move to cup his face tenderly, resuming the gentle caress of his thumb but on his cheekbone. Sami closed his eyes without him even noticing, just enjoying the warmth from the other man. “I’m scared. I’m confused. Jey…” He trails off as he feels Jey move their faces closer, making their noses bump into each other. Silence rings out between them until Jey is brave enough to talk.
“Sami,” he starts, “if you want me to stop, I will. I’ll leave. We don’ have to talk ‘bout it ever again. Promise.”
Sami is at a loss for words; he just now realized that his feelings for the other man were deeper than he knew. Now, that same man is in front of him, holding him close, asking him if he wanted this. He still isn’t sure he knows what “this” is but wants to find out.
Making up his mind, Sami closed the small distance between the two to connect their lips. The kiss was slow and hesitant, like they were still unsure. Sami slowly brought his hands to rest on Jey’s hips to bring him closer. Their lips separated but their faces were still close together.
“You sure ‘bout this?” Jey asks, rubbing the hair on the nape of his neck. All Sami could do was nod his head yes. And that’s what did it for Jey. He brings the other man into another kiss, but this time, it was more intense. Lips were moving more fiercely and their bodies were plastered together. With Jey pushing him backwards, Sami doesn’t stop until he is pressed against the wall by the solid body in front of him. A slight moan escapes his mouth before he can stop it; he needs more. It seems like Jey could read his mind because he detacts his lips from Sami’s and starts to mouth down the side of his neck. The red head’s hand moved from his hips to cling to his back, more moans coming out at a consistent rate; they couldn’t be held in. Jey pulls back to look into his eyes.
“How far do you wanna go? We go as far as you want.” Jey expressed. How far does Sami want to go? He is not sure, but he wants to keep going.
“More.”
Jey goes back to kissing him with the same intensity from before, but this time, he starts to gently rock his hips against Sami. That’s when he feels a hardness in the front of the other man’s pants. He hears Jey moan for the first time. It lights a fire within him, causing him to guide his partner back to the couch. This time, they both are lying down with Sami straddling his hips. Groaning, both men moved against each other, rubbing their matching hardnesses together. Sami buried his face in the space between Jey’s shoulder and neck, breathing heavily as the pace of their hips speeds up. Jey’s hands go to hold onto his back, pressing Sami against him more. It felt so good to feel the friction against his cock, but he felt himself getting close. Not wanting this to end, he stops his thrust, much to the dismay of his partner.
“You okay?” Jey says breathlessly, very much affected by their activities.
“Yeah, yeah. I’m okay. I got close.” Sami explains, embarrassed. He’s nearly 40 years old, and he was going to cum from dry humping like a teenager. Jey caresses up and down his back.
“That’s okay. Go ahead.” he smiles, tucking the red hair behind his ear. Sami did want to cum but not yet. There were more things he wanted to try. Shaking his head, he moves his body until he’s eye level with the fly of Jey’s pants. Jey watches him as Sami undoes his pants and reaches into his partner’s underwear, where he feels his erection for the first time. It is gently pulled out, causing his nerves to intensify. This will be his first time with a man, and Sami is jumping into the deep end. He starts with simply stroking it to get used to this change. For the first time, he is able to see Jey’s face as it contorts with pleasure that he’s giving him. It’s intoxicating to watch. Feeling brave, Sami sticks his tongue out to lightly lick the tip. He tastes the precum that started to gather at the slit. The flavor wasn’t as bad as he expected. Wanting to explore more, he takes the organ into his mouth.
“Baby, don take too much. Take your time.” Jey coos, running his fingers over his vibrant hair. Sami takes his advice and only takes a little bit past the head, with his hand occupying the rest of his cock. He knew he was inexperienced, but he started to do things he liked when he was on the receiving end. Trying to alternate between taking him into his mouth and stroking the rest that doesn’t fit. Sami is nowhere near perfect but giving it his best effort. It seems to be working because he hears answering moans from his partner.
“Baby,” Jey calls for him, making him raise his head to look up at him. He is smiling softly down at him; Sami can’t help but return it, “come up here.” He lifts himself back to be face to face with his lover. Suddenly, Sami feels bashful; he just gave his enemy turned friend a blowjob. Jey brings his head down to meet for a kiss once again, this time soft and slow. His tongue explored Sami’s mouth, tasting himself. Pulling back from the other man, Jey grinned as he cupped his face.
“Sorry if that wasn’t good. I’ve never done that before. Well, I’ve never been with another man, so–” Sami starts until he’s interrupted.
“Sami, it was great. ‘M gonna love whatever you do.” Jey reassured his partner with another smile. Sami decided that he really wants to keep going, but they would need more room for all of that. Jumping up from on top of Jey, he quickly pulls him to his feet and drags him towards the direction of the bedroom. When they enter the room, he feels Jey grab his hips and turn him to bring him into a heated kiss. Sami’s arms wrap around his neck to bring him even closer; he wanted to drown in the smooth caress of the gorgeous man’s lips in front of him. The two started to move backwards until Sami’s knees bumped into the edge of the bed, causing both of them to tumble down on the soft mattress. Jey crowded in between his legs to bring their erections together again, ripping a whine from Sami’s throat. Jey pulls back to catch his lover in a heated stare, breathing hard from their kissing.
“What do you need?” Jey demands. Sami wasn’t sure, but he needs to be touched in any way he can. His body was on fire, and Jey was the only one that could put it out.
“Please,” he pleads, not knowing what he wanted but knowing he needed Jey’s hands on him. Jey gives him a quick peck and holds his face to have him look into his eyes.
“You don’ need to beg, baby. I’ll give you whatever you need.” Jey promises.
“Just touch me please.” Sami pleads and Jey was happy to oblige. He sheds Sami of his shirt hurriedly, followed by his bottoms, leaving him in only his boxers. He stripped himself but decided at that moment he wanted to give his lover a show. Jey took off his shirt exposing all the artwork that was displayed on his skin; Sami has always wanted to trace them with his finger, taking his time to examine every detail of the tattoos. He was brought back to reality when he witnessed Jey slowly drag his pants down past his hips to the floor. Jey made his way back onto the bed in their previous position.
“Hi.” Sami smiles bashfully, rubbing down Jey’s back.
“Hey.” Jey beams down back at him.
He wants to savor this moment. Just this morning, he was worried about their friendship being over and not having Jey in his life anymore. It destroyed him just to think about, but now, here they are. Lying naked together in bed, just smiling at each other. Life works in such crazy ways sometimes, he thinks.
Their lips touched again and Sami wanted to do more; he was getting impatient. He pushed Jey up so he could slide his own boxers down.
“Touch me down there, Jey,” he pleads, legs opening to show him exactly what he had in mind. Jey’s eyes widen a bit before he grins and nods, understanding what his lover wanted.
“You got lube?” he asks, Sami nods his head and points to his nightstand. Jey reaches over and opens the top drawer to see the lube he searched for and condoms. “Condoms? You got other people in here?” he tries to ask playfully but fails to keep the jealousy out of his voice. Without having the opportunity to respond, Jey is back in between his legs with the bottle he needed. Sami watches him apply the substance to his fingers and feels a gentle touch to his hole. This was a new sensation. It’s odd but not off putting. He feels the first finger slip inside of him; Sami let out a small moan, getting used to something inside of him. Once he got used to that one finger, his partner kept adding more in until he had three fingers inside. It’s an overwhelming feeling but feels so good. Fingers weren’t enough anymore. The red haired man needed more though. Now is the time to make the big step.
“I want to feel you. Inside.” Sami sighs out, causing Jey to slowly take his fingers out and strip himself of his boxer briefs.
“You want me to grab a condom?” Jey questions with no judgment.
“No, I want to feel you. All of you.” he admits with Jey giving him a smile. He’s back in Sami’s space in no time, slicking himself up with the lubricant. Sami can’t help but watch him stroke himself, making him harder. Grabbing a pillow, he slides in underneath Sami’s hips to elevate them.
“You ready, baby? We’ll go slow.”
Sami nods and then feels the head of the other’s cock slowly push inside, inch by inch. They took their time to make sure that he wouldn’t be hurt. Soon though, Jey was all the way in. Sami couldn’t help but pant at the intensity of being fucked for the first time. Jey’s head rested on his shoulder, trying to get himself under control.
“So tight,” is all Jey can groan out, overwhelmed by the feeling of his narrow passage squeezing him in the best way.
“Move.” Sami demands. He starts out slow but builds up to a tempo that takes Sami’s breath away and makes it hard to take a deep breath. The feeling was intoxicating. He reaches up to pull Jey on top of him, bringing him close enough that he can bury his face into his neck, gathering his scent as Jey took what he wanted from him. This position allows him to hear his partner’s small sounds that escape him. Knowing that Jey is enjoying it makes it even better for him.
“Does it feel good, Jey? You like fucking me?” Sami moans out. He had no clue where that came from, slipping out of his mouth before he realized. He wanted to hear how wrecked his lover sounded.
“So good, baby. So fuckin’ good.” he groans out, fucking into the man below him harder. Their strings of moans filled the silent house. He couldn’t help but claw down the man’s back, holding onto him as he fucked him into the mattress. Their faces coming close together, nose bumping into each other, sharing the air between them. Sami wanted to stare into his eyes, but the pleasure he was receiving made it difficult to keep them open. Jey’s hand grabs his, lacing their fingers together and holding them above their heads; his other hand has a tight grip on Sami’s hips to keep him in place.
“You don’ know how often I’ve thought about this. To have you like this.” Jey murmurs, causing Sami’s eyes to open. The look he sees when he looks up at his partner is full of love; soft, brown eyes shining down at him, kiss bruised lips turned into a small smile. It was the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen, and it’s all for him.
“How often?” Sami asks.
“Every. Fuckin’. Day.” Jey replies, giving a big, deep thrust for every word. Sami let out a moan each time, back arching off the bed. He wasn’t sure how much longer he was going to last. As that thought crossed his mind, he felt the younger man pull out of him. Sami looks at the man frantically, wondering why the pleasure was being taken from him. Jey quickly bent down to give him a peck on his lips.
“Relax, baby. Can you turn around for me?” Jey asks sweetly. Sami gives him a nod and flips over, arching his back invitingly. He feels hands on his hips, gently pulling him back towards the body behind him. Jey drapes his body over his back, making them closer. He feels a soft kiss on his shoulder.
“You okay?” Jey asks softly, thumbs caressing his hips.
“I’m great. Can we keep going?” Sami replies, enjoying the kisses that are being placed all over his shoulders and neck. He could stay like this forever, but his body has other ideas.
“‘Course, baby.”
Sami feels pressure against his hole until he feels his lover ease himself back in. They both moan out in unison; it feels so much deeper in this position. Jey picks up where their previous pace was, and all the red haired man can do is bury his face into the mattress and tightly grip his sheets. Moans escape his throat without him realizing; they just spill out. Jey seemed to like the noises because he was encouraging them with every thrust.
“That’s right. Let me hear ya.” he says, voice thick with arousal. That caused Sami to moan more. The feeling of an orgasm started to barrel towards him again.
“Jey…I think I’m getting close.” he let out, trying to starve off the feeling for a little bit longer. An arm snakes its way around his chest, gently pulling his torso off the bed towards the chest behind him. The thrusts still continued as Jey held him close, his other hand gripping his hip. Sami turned his head in search of the other’s lips. His wish was granted when he felt soft lips meet him in an intense kiss. He didn’t know how much longer he could starve his orgasm away. Reaching down, he takes himself in his hand, matching Jey’s pace. His hand is batted away and replaced with Jey’s. He couldn't take it; Sami felt his stomach tighten as he approached the edge.
“Jey! Oh my God! Yes!” he yelled out as he felt pleasure seep into every fiber of his body. He felt his cum drench the tan hand that was stroking his cock to completion; he came more than he ever had. A big wet spot appeared where he emptied onto the bed. Once the euphoria started to fade, he felt his body being laid to the bed on his side. Small kisses are scattered along his neck and shoulders.
“You okay to keep goin’, baby?” Jey asks.
“Yeah, I wanna feel you cum.” Sami states, loving having the younger man inside of him. He didn’t want it to end.
Jey grabbed his top leg and held it up as he started to move inside him again. The pace was slow but no less intense; it seemed like Jey was savoring the feeling and the noises that he was punching out of Sami. His face was buried into Sami’s neck, concentrating on fucking into him. All he can do is bury his face into the pillow and let Jey chase his high.
“Sami,” he starts, “‘M gonna cum. You gon’ make me cum. Where—“. Sami interrupts.
“Inside! Please, inside!” he whines out, wanting to feel everything.
“Kiss me, baby.” Jey pleads, nearing the inevitable end. Sami turns his head to connect their lips as Jey’s thrusts intensifies until his hips pause against Sami’s, his orgasm hitting. Jey moans into the kiss as his hips do little thrusts to fill up his partner. The orgasm passed and their lips continued to move in a soft, sweet kiss; both men were extremely tired from their activities. Jey is the first one to pull back, brushing a sweaty stand of hair off of the red haired man’s forehead. The two separate, cleaning themselves off then lying back in bed.
Sami felt the anxiety come back. He realized he was in love with Jey. He kissed him. They had sex. Now what? As he’s stuck in his own head, he doesn’t see Jey prop himself up on his elbow to look down at him.
“Sami.” he says, bringing him back to the current situation. Sami finally looks up. He’s met with those same sweet brown eyes he saw in the living room after the kiss; still, his fear didn’t dwindle. He didn’t know what to say.
“Talk to me, baby. Tell me what’s goin’ on up there?” Jey requests, playing with his red strands of hair. Sami couldn’t meet his eyes.
“I’m going to be completely honest. I’m feeling unsure.” he explains. This is a first for him. He’s never fallen in love with one of his friends. Hell, Sami has never loved someone this way. It was a slow burn. It started with Sami trying to get Jey to like him and then them becoming close friends, family. Sami spent their time together trying to get close to him, to get to know Jey better than anyone ever has. To know the ins and outs of the man he grew to love. Now they’re here, in bed after they just finished having sex, with Sami’s mind racing on what just happened and what happens next.
“Unsure? ‘Bout what?” Jey questions, face full of worry.
“This.”
Jey sits up fully and looks straight ahead, now looking away from his partner. Nervously rubbing his hands on the comforter, he opens his mouth to talk.
“What do you want, uce?” Jey asks, Sami realizes he isn’t “baby” anymore. It breaks his heart. He goes to sit up next to Jey.
“You’ve been asking me what I want. What do you want, Jey? Was this a mistake? Was it a one time thing? What do you want out of this?” Sami interrogates. He needs to know even if it destroys him. Jey is silent for a minute.
“I meant it when I said I came back for you,” he confessed, “You mean the world to me, Sami. You gotta know that. I knew I loved you, but I thought it was like family, like you was my brother. But now I know that ain’t the case.”
All Sami could do was stare at him as he processed his words.
“Well…what was the case then?” Sami asks hesitantly. He feels his heart start to almost beat out of his chest. Jey turns towards him, taking Sami’s hand into his own.
“I’m in love with you, Sami.”
Sami searched the other’s eyes, making sure he didn’t see a hint of him joking or lying. All he saw was those gentle brown eyes looking at him affectionately. He knew Jey was being sincere. Leaning forward to touch their noses together but not quite their lips.
“I love you. So much.” Sami whispers softly, a huge smile spreading across his face. He closes the small gap between them and connects their lips in a sweet kiss. Here Sami was scared about these newfound feelings to find out that the man he loved felt the same way. They pull back to beam at each other, eyes look back at each other with pure adoration.
“Don’t know about you, but I’m tired as hell. You up for a nap?” Jey asks, grabbing his lover as he laid back, pulling him to lay his head on his chest. Sami went down without a fight, enjoying being close to him. He falls asleep with gentle fingers massaging his scalp.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A phone ringing woke Sami out of his slumber. Before he could open his eyes, it stopped and he heard Jey talking.
“Hey KO.”
Kevin? Why is Kevin calling him? He decided that he was going to fake sleep, so he can figure out why these two—who hated each other like a month ago—are sitting on the phone chatting.
Jey pauses, listening to whatever Kev was saying.
“Yeah, man. I made it. We, uh, we talked.” Jey said, bashfully. “I told him everythin’. He said he loved me too.” Sami hears the smile in his voice. There’s another pause to let Kevin say what he wants to say. “Uce, that’s personal!” Jey laughs. Sami can only imagine what was asked.
“Honestly, man,” Jey starts, “thank you for pushin’ me to go to him.”
A hand reaches out towards Sami to brush red strands off of his face. Who knew Jey Uso was such a softie?
“I’m gonna get going, Kev. He’s sleepin’ and don’ wanna wake him up.” Kevin says something that causes Jey to laugh out loud. “He was just tired, man! He had a tirin’ afternoon. See ya!” he hangs up before Kevin could even respond. He feels Jey lie back down next to him, thumb rubbing over Sami’s cheek.
“You gotta get better at fake sleeping, baby.” Jey simply states with a chuckle. Sami’s eyes shoot open to see his partner smiling at him.
“How did you know I was awake?!” Sami challenges, thinking he was the best actor.
“You were breathing mad hard.” Jey laughs, leaning over to give a simple peck to his lips.
“So Kevin was the one that sent you to me, huh?” Sami asks. Jey nodded his head.
“Yup. He called me up and told me to stop acting like an ass and go talk to you. He said that you was under pressure, and you wouldn’t ever say somethin’ like that any other time. Kevin told me that you cared about me, and we needed to talk about it. I mean, he said we need to ‘fuck it out’ but you get it. So, I got your address and came over as fast as I could.” Jey explains.
Sneaky Kevin.
“I guess we owe Kevin a big thank you?” Sami says. Jey pulls Sami into another kiss; this time it's tender and sweet. Spilling out all of the love and adoration that the two felt for each other. Sami would never get tired of this.
“Yeah, I guess he kinda pulled through on this one.” Jey replies with a laugh, capturing his Sami’s lips again.
