Chapter Text

Wallace surveyed the area for anyone that mildly caught his attention. Other Scott had invited him and Jimmy to some party, and while they were asked together, they all knew they weren't a couple. At least Wallace knew that. They were nice, but Wallace couldn't see anything aside from hangouts and hookups with them.

Everyone at the party seemed dull and was more of Regular Scott's crowd, so there were no cute guys. Well, Stephen was handsome, but he wasn't there. Besides, there were drinks, so it wasn't a total loss, and if anything, he'll invite Jimmy and Other Scott back to his place. Making sure he gives Scott headphones to give him peace of mind.

Wallace opted for a few drinks before calling it a night; he positioned himself against the wall, hoping a cute guy would appear. A simple "Hey" disrupted the mundane atmosphere and Wallace's train of thought.

Wallace turned to the source, and his eyes lit up in amazement. The stranger was possibly the most attractive person Wallace had ever seen, and he was just standing right next to him where he should be on magazine covers. He was already a pretty boy but with his glasses? That boosted him from handsome to gorgeous. The way his hair swooped and was perfectly positioned would make someone think angels crafted it.

"Hello." He replied, sounding as calm as he could, not wanting to come off too eager. But his attraction was evident.

"Some party huh?" The stranger remarked, stirring his drink. "Do you know anyone here?" He asked.

"Yeah, I know a few people," Wallace gestured over to Jimmy and Other Scott from across the room. "The tall one there invited me over."

The stranger nodded and took a sip from his cup. "So, do you know anyone here?" Wallace inquired, scooting closer to the stranger, wanting to keep the conversation going.

"Not yet." He said, taking another sip. "I think this is a prophetic dream I'm having. We're in Toronto, right?" Wallace was not following. Prophetic Dream? Is this guy messing with him? Is he on something, or is this some unconventional pickup technique?

"Um, yes?" Wallace finished his cup, "Are you messing with me?" He asked, somewhat amused by the unconventional pickup method.

"Maybe I am, or maybe I am. I'm Mobile, by the way." Mobile says, drinking from his half-empty cup.

"Mobile? Like a phone?" Wallace chuckles; this stranger — Mobile was amusing, maybe on something, but entertaining.  "Yeah." He says, moving closer to Wallace. "Your methods are odd, but you intrigue me, Mister Mobile."

"And who do I have the pleasure of intriguing?"

"Wallace."  He stirs the contents of his now empty cup around.

Mobile smiled. "Well, I hope to see you soon, Wallace; I'm coming into town next week for a job interview. If this is a prophetic dream, I hope we run into each other."

Wallace blinked, trying to understand Mobile before asking questions. "Hold on, I'm still not following. you're here in Toronto, but you're not here, and you're here next week?" Wallace asked slowly, now pretty sure this guy was on something.

Mobile nods. "Okay… be honest with me, Mobile," Wallace puts a hand on Mobile's shoulder. "Are you messing with me? I mean— All these cryptic answers are cute, but—"

"Wait," Mobile interrupted, jerking away from Wallace, shocked "Are you dreaming too?!"

"Wallace!"

Wallace woke up to Scott shaking his body. "Oh good, you're awake. I need to tell you about this dream I had." Wallace groaned and swiped his blanket back, wrapping it around himself. Scott attempted to take it back but gave up.

"There was that girl again, and this time she had blue and pink… or pink and blue hair and—"

"The more you tell me about it, the more delusional you sound." Scott rolled his eyes. "You're just jealous. I have a person of or from my dreams."  He retorts. Wallace sighed and sat up on the edge of his bed. "If it makes you stop talking, I had my own dream boy last night. We were getting to know each other before you rudely interrupted us."

"Sorry," Scott mumbled before moving over and sitting next to Wallace, who moved to the kitchen to make himself a coffee. Scott groaned, wrapped himself in the blanket, and joined Wallace in the kitchen. "So, what do you remember from your dream?" He yawns.

Wallace taps his chin, thinking, "I was at a party with Jimmy and Other Scott, and I met him in the back." He paused, trying to recall his dream. "He was cute and had glasses, but he kept talking about some prophetic dream. Kinda trippy."

Wallace poured his cup and sipped it before Scott could take it. "Wallace, that's a sign! A prophecy like in Sonic Underground. You have your dream boy, and I have my dream girl." Scott exclaimed, leaning on the kitchen counter.

"No, it's a sign I probably drank too much last night." He muttered, sipping his coffee and heading to add sugar. "And yours is a prophecy to break up with your fake high school girlfriend and search for someone your age." Wallace stirs his coffee.

Scott winced and headed to the bathroom, not closing the door, still talking with Wallace as he peed. "You did come home pretty late, and you were a fun kind of drunk, not the mean kind."

"Did you want me to be mean?" He sips his coffee again before deciding it needs creamer.

"No. Just thought you should know." Scott pauses. "Will you come to our practice?"

"Not if your fake high school girlfriend is there. I'll feel bad for the poor girl once you break up with her." Wallace searched the fridge for the creamer and added it appropriately.

"She's with her parents visiting family."

"Will you break up with her when she comes back?" The toilet flushed, and the sink turned on. "If that'll get you to come." Wallace finished his coffee and put the cup in the sink.

"Okay. I'll come."
