Strength of Blood

Summary:

Baron never wanted to be a demi-titan, but that doesn’t matter. What does matter, is that a group of silver-clad girls are trying to kidnap him and take him to a camp so he doesn’t join ‘the enemy’, and considering who his father is, that wouldn’t go over well with the gods. His old man is eternally imprisoned under the sky, after all.

Chapter 1: Me and My Not-Blood Brother Encounter Women in the Wild

Chapter Text

Let me tell you something about myself, I ain’t a mentally well person. Sometimes, when I’m talking to somebody, the only thing on my mind the entire damn time is ‘They have no idea how easy it would be for me to kill them right now’, and it’s really not even my fault. Hell, it’s not like I actually want to kill ‘em, it’s just intrusive thoughts. And I think I know why I think these thoughts. It’s my dad.

Atlas.

Yeah, yeah, that’s right, big bad god motherfucker carrying the sky is my dad. But I haven’t even met the man! Hell, my ma barely met the man, she knew him for like a week and then he left, and nine months later I came out. Thirteen years later and I’m still going strong. You might be askin’ yourself; why do I know who my dad is, and if he’s really holding up the sky like the myths say, then how did he get out to have me?

And boy, I got a damn good explanation for that. I don’t know the exact specifics, but I do know what my ma told me, and that’s that Kronos, the Lord of Time, King of Titans, Former King of the Universe, the real big bad himself, was trying to come back from being sliced to a buncha bits by his kids, and managed to have some of his pawns briefly free my pops to aid in his plan. Now, Atlas was an immortal deity, and immortal deity’s are a horny bunch, so the first thing he did was go find a mortal woman he could get freaky with, and THEN went to aid his benefactor.

Mans got his priorities damn straight, if you ask me.

So, Atlas had a kid with this chick, that kid was me, so you might be asking, where’s this woman now? Dead. She’s fuckin’ dead. Bone cancer. Hell of a thing. So, ma’s dead, my old man is an eternally imprisoned titan, and I’m an orphan, which means I’m living in an orphanage. Well, not an orphanage, but Grandspring Boarding Home, in New York City, the big apple itself. It's funny, cause I was born and raised in Kentucky for nine years, then mom died, then I got put in the system cause I didn't have any other financially or mentally stable relatives, then I got adopted by this family that seemed cool at first but they quickly turned out to be assholes. I moved to New York with them, then they decided I wasn’t worth the trouble and ‘legally relinquished' me to Grandspring.

So yeah, my life’s been kinda shit. But it ain’t all that bad. Grandspring is pretty nice, for a government home. It’s not too crowded, and I’m one of the oldest there, so I get my own room and everything. Some of the younger kids have to share, but what do you really need privacy for when you’re seven anyways? We’ve got a big ass TV, plenty of room, and our ‘caretakers’ are pretty cool, too. The only issue I could think of is we’re lacking a lot of bedrooms, but that doesn’t affect me, cause special eldest privileges and all.

To be honest, it’s really too calm around here. Too perfect, too functional. There’s no evil director that wants to exploit us for government benefits, no older kids bullying everyone, no conflict or fights. It’s all so damn boring, and it doesn’t help that every kid within three years of my age is also a girl. Not that I don’t like women. Before she died, ma beat respect into my thick noggin, but I can’t connect with girls like I can with dudes. The oldest dude at Grandspring is ten. You might not think that it’s that big of a difference, but being thirteen is a whole other world than being ten. He still thinks girls have cooties, for god's sake. Or should I say gods’s? I don’t fuckin’ know, the whole Greek think has always been confusing to me. They’re a bunch of sibling-fucking rednecks that think their shit don’t stink, if you ask me.

Anyways, yeah, it’s boring here, and I don’t have any dudes my age to talk to outside of school. That’s precisely why I’m laying on my bed in the corner of my neatly sized room, staring up at my white ceiling, fan on full blast despite it being the middle of January, doing jack-shit, on a Saturday. My phone’s dead, none of my friends are online on Xbox, the girls in the room next to me are being loud, and overall, I was having a pretty shit day. I sat up in bed, closing my eyes and pushing my fingers into them slightly. It helped stop the headaches I’d get every now and then. There’s gotta be something I can do to relieve my incessant boredom…

And that’s when it hit me.

I’m gonna go mess around with Damien.

Damien’s the ten year old dude I was talking ‘bout earlier. He’s cool enough, for his age, but he’s immature. I quickly shot up out of bed, my chin-length black hair swaying at my sudden movements. If anyone were looking into my charcoal eyes, they’d see a glint that would make them think ‘something is about to go horribly wrong’.

I slung my door open roughly, then shut it gently. Adelina, one of the workers here, was always on my ass about making, quote, ‘too much damn noise for no damn reason’, so I figured I’d make her life a bit easier. It’s not like I mean to slam my door, I’m just really, really strong ‘cause of my dad. Adelina’s the person I like most here, and that’s sayin’ something, cause there’s a lot of people here. About… thirty kids, I think? It’s in that area.

I made my way down the hall, past the stairs leading to the first floor, and threw open the door at the very end of the hallway. I walked through, and lo and behold, Damien was in there, his long brown hair covering his scrunched up face, playing some kind of mytho-something-something card game with two other boys. He definitely grew his hair out ‘cause of me, by the way. All three of them turned to look at me from their spot on the floor in the middle of the room. Damien’s curious blue eyes lit up when he saw me, his pale skin practically glowing in the overhead light of the room. The kid needs some sun, and I’ve been getting him to go out with me more.

“Hey, Barry, what’s up?” He asked excitedly. I only ever barge in like this when I want to do some stupid shit, and I guess he’s picked up on that.

“Don’t call me Barry, kid. I was wonderin’ if you wanted to go out for a bit, just fuck around in general, do some shit.” I asked. Some may chastise me for my crude language around kids this young, but I knew all three of them well enough to know that they had heard worse and wouldn’t snitch on me, so I didn’t care. Adelina would care, though. Adelina would try to hit me with a sandal, and she was damn quick, too. It’s not like it hurt, with me being a son of the titan of literal durability and endurance, but it was still scary in its own right.

Damien’s eyes lit up even more, wide and innocent in their sockets, “Yeah, okay! Sorry, guys, but I’m going with Baron, cya!”

He haphazardly threw his cards on the carpeted floor and got up to rush out, much to the dismay of his friends. I stopped him with one hand before he could get past me and through the door, though.

“It’s cold as hell outside, man. Get a jacket on, you’re not coming home sick because of me.” I lightly shoved him back into the room. He tried to give me a pouting look, but I just laughed and spun him around, giving a light push again, “I’ll be waiting by the door, don’t take forever to find a coat.”

With that, I turned around and shut the door, walking back to my own room to put on a hoodie. I dug around in my closet, finally pulling out a black under armor hoodie that had been donated in pristine condition. Benefits of having no parents. Well, one dead parent and one incarcerated one.

I pulled the hoodie over my head and made my way to the stairs, but stopped for a moment. A mischievous smile made its way on my face. There’s this girl my age, Lilith, who I’ve been told by anonymous sources has a crush on me. I turned from the stairs, walking up to a door with a poster taped to it that read ‘DO NOT ENTER: GIRL TALK IN PROGRESS!’, which I just know Lilith finds cringy as hell, and knocked twice. I’m so damn glad I have my own room, I don’t think I could handle my door having something like ‘WARNING, GAMER INSIDE’ taped on it. I shuddered at the thought.

The door opened after a few seconds of silence, revealing eleven year old Sarah Shavers, glaring up at me. She’s never liked me, for some reason.

“What do you want, Baron? The sign specifically says girl talk in progress!” She asked, annoyed. I guess she was the one who put that poster there, then.

I laughed a bit, “Gotta tell Lilith something, then I’ll be out of your hair, promise.” I held my hands up in fake surrender.

She huffed, “Fine, but be quick!”

She moved out of way, and I leaned into the room, latching onto the door frame for support as I hung myself by the arm loosely into the room. Lilith was sitting on one of three beds in the room, diagonal from the door. Her blue eyes widened when she saw me, her thick, black mane of hair whirling around as she whipped her head to look at me.

“B-Baron! Hey, what’s up?” She asked, a blush already creeping on her face. I don’t know what’s up with her, cause I know normal girls don’t act like this around dudes they like, but it was funny either way.

“Just wanted to tell ya’ I’m going out with Damien. Don’t go pissin’ to Adelina or Cecile askin’ where I am, cause I’m telling you now.” I snapped my fingers and pointed at her, “I know you’re in love with me, but that’s not a reason to go inconveniencin’ our caretakers, ya hear?”

Sarah giggled, as well as the other girl- Ashley, I think her name was. Lilith sputtered for a moment, “I- what- I am not in love with you, Baron Armstrong! Just what the hell-“

She was cut off as I laughed and shut the door quickly, turning to see Damien, wearing a big, puffy jacket, looking up at me in awe.

“Really? Is Lilith really in love with you, Baron?” He asked, eyes wide, mouth gaping. I laughed and put a hand on his head.

“Yeah, she is. Don’t tell anyone, though, cause then she’d be real mad, and I’d be the one recievin’ her righteous fury.” I said, ruffling his hair.

He faked a gag, “Ew, girls are gross! That’s so weird, Baron!” He seemed genuinely disturbed by the concept of being liked by a girl. It was always funny to see how younger kids viewed the world.

“Yeah, sure, kid. Who knows, though, maybe sometime soon me and her will start dating.” I started walking down the stairs as I spoke. Damien gasped, thoroughly shocked.

“What…?” I glanced back at him, and had to suppress laughing that otherwise would’ve been hysterical. He looked so absolutely perplexed at what I just said, like he couldn’t fathom me, Baron, the older kid he looks up to, actually liking a girl.

We reached the first floor, and the front door was right there across from the foot of the stairs. To our left was the kitchen, where I saw Adelina washing the dishes. I should probably elaborate a bit on Adelina, shouldn’t I? She’s tall as hell, not even by female standards, she’s just tall in general, resting at a crisp 6’3. I, on the other hand, am a whopping 5’8. She’s got long, curly brown hair, and her eyes are a matching earthen brown. Her face is narrow and sharp- aristocratic, if you’re feelin’ fancy. She's got dark, deep brown skin. She’s in her thirties, I think, and she’s a stern, imposing woman. Kinda reminds me of my mom, ‘cept Adelina is still alive. Yeah, I’m kinda hung up on ma’s death. Shit hurts more than you could imagine, but life goes on.

“Adelina! Me and Damien are going out, cya!” I called out. She looked up from the sink and nodded at me.

“Don’t stay out too long, you’ll get sick.” She warned, and went back to the dishes. I opened the front door and walked out, Damien following right behind me

We stepped into the oh-so busy streets of New York City, the sidewalks decently inhabited, but not too crowded. Cars rolled by on the street, going from one place to another, as cars do. I began walking, in no particular way. Damien followed me.

“So where are we going?” Damien asked as he sped up a bit, now walking beside me instead of behind.

I shrugged, really not knowing. I didn’t plan this far ahead.

“Hmmm… we could go to the park!” He suggested enthusiastically. I nodded at that. It wasn’t a bad idea.

“Yeah sure, let’s go.”

xXx

Central Park was always fun to visit. There was never a shortage of event there, from actual events from some organization, to couples arguing, to teenagers beatin’ the hell out of each other, there was always something happening.

Except for today.

The one I’m bored out of my damn mind, so bored, in fact, that I’m hanging out with a ten year old, nothing is happening. The park, for the first time in ages, is entirely calm. The barely-past-noon sun shone down brightly. A cool, winter breeze blew through, providing a chilled bite to the already crispy air. The trees swayed in the light wind, showering the park in the sound of rustling leaves. Me and Damien walked side by side, doing nothing but that. Walking and talking.

“So, Baron, I’ve been meaning to ask you for a while, but why do you talk different than everyone else at home?” He asked, a look of confusion on his face. I had to stop myself from laughing at him again. This seemed like a genuine worry to him.

“What, you mean my accent?” He nodded, confirming my question. “It’s ‘cause I’m not from here. I grew up in Kentucky. A lot of the time, accents will fade away if you ain’t around people that speak the same way, but I took special care to make sure that don’t happen. I like my accent.”

He nodded, seemingly understanding.

“So… does everyone in Kentucky talk like that?” He asked.

“Not everyone, but a damn good bunch do. Most folk down there do, I’d say.” I explained. How does he not know what a gods-damn accent is? Kids, man. I don’t get ‘em. Seemingly satisfied with my answer, Damien nodded, but I was damn sure he’d be asking more about it later.

We continued walking through the grass, Damien enjoying the calmness, and me loathing it. I looked around idly for the dozenth time. And then, I got an idea.

“Damien, let’s go in the woods.” I suggested. Damien looked up at me, eyes widening.

“But… but mama Cecile said to stay out of the woods! We could get lost…”

I laughed a bit, “Come on, kid, the Ramble ain’t that big. Plus, I’ll be there with you, it’s fine.” I started walking in the general direction of the Ramble, a huge woodland area in Central Park.

Damien scurried to keep up with me, not saying anything as we approached the woods. The sound of rustling leaves only got louder as we got closer, providing a decent ambience to the otherwise silent park. The distant sounds of traffic faded away as we finally got to the edge of the woods, nothing but trees and grass from here on out. Damien stopped as we got to the edge, mumbling something.

“You alright?” I asked.

“We really shouldn’t be doing this, Baron…” He said worriedly. I laughed a bit.

“Listen, we won’t get lost, and the most dangerous thing we’ll find here is a raccoon, okay? And what else are we gonna do around here? Park’s got Jack-shit going on, there’s nothing to do back at Grandspring, so let’s go explorin’ in the woods.” I shrugged, “If you don’t wanna go you don’t have to, but I’m going, man.”

That was a lie, I’m not stupid enough to leave a ten year old alone in Central Park for an hour, but it worked damn well convincing him to come with me. I turned around and acted like I was going to walk into the woods, and Damien was quick to follow, still muttering about how this wasn’t a good idea.

Come on, what’s the worst that could happen?

xXx

The worst that could happen probably just happened. For the first fifteen minutes, everything was fine. I ran around, threw rocks into the lake, and Damien followed me sheepishly. All was well, and just being in the woods in general helped to stop my boredom. Then, shit got real weird.

We heard voices up ahead, feminine ones. At first, I ignored them, figuring it was just some teens messing around or a tour or somethin’ like that. Then, they started yelling. Then, we heard whizzing, like something flying through the air, and a bunch of… hissing.

I turned to look at Damien, his blue eyes still wide as ever.

“You wanna go check that out?” I asked nonchalantly. He shook his head. “Alright, you stay here, then.”

I started jogging in the direction of the noises, and Damien, still not wanting to be left alone in the oh-so-scary woods, followed me reluctantly. After about a minute, we arrived at the scene.

The scene I can only describe as bat-shit crazy.

A group of ten teenage girls, of a buncha different ages, were jumping around, firing silver arrows at a group of what I can only describe as flaming monster ladies. I shit you not, there were ten of these teenage girls, leaping gracefully around the woodlands, shooting at what looked to be about seven or eight of these ladies with fire hair and metal legs. I stood in mild surprise at the sight before me. I knew of the Greek world, so I figured it probably had something to do with that. Damien, though…

He’s mortal. The Mist shouldn’t let him see what's happening, right? I tore my gaze from the sight before me and looked at Damien, whose eyes had widened so much they looked like they wanted to pop out of their sockets.

“Baron, wh-what are those… things the girls are shooting at?” He asked, his voice shakey.

Shit.

“You mean the ladies with firey hair?” I asked, trying to confirm my suspicions. He nodded, still not looking away from the battle scene. I cursed under my breath. “You ever seen anything like this before, kid?”

It must’ve been weird looking at us from the outside, a couple of regular dudes watching these mythological beings duke it out, but Damien was too stunned to move and neither group had noticed us yet, so we really didn’t need to go anywhere. I was kinda interested in seeing who won, after all.

“I saw a big dude with one eye once… he was scary, and ran away when he got too close to me.” Damien admitted, “It was when I had just gotten to Grandspring.”

One of the monsters took an arrow through the eye, and collapsed onto the ground after a moment of stumbling. Damien looked away.

“I-I’m scared, Baron.” He said, backing up a bit.

It’s time to go.

“Let’s go, kid, let’s go!” I said, and took him by the wrist. I made to run away, Damien in tow, when I heard him yelp.

I whipped around, and came face to face with a fire-hair lady, grinning darkly down at Damien.

She was wide open.

“You’ll do nicely, demigod!” She growled out. She raised a clawed hand. She never had a chance to swing it, though.

As soon as she finished talking, I body slammed her, straight into the dirt. Damien was jerked roughly to the ground as his captor was rammed into the floor, courtesy of me. She hissed loudly, pushing against me as I scrambled to get on top of her.

“Grah! What are you doing, son of Atlas?!” She yelled in my face as I finally managed to straddle her.

“You stupid fuckin’ bitch!” Was the only thing I could think to say before I slammed my fist in her face, her skull making a sickening crunch as blood erupted from her head, splattering onto me and the ground around us. Her face resembled nothing more than a bloody, visceral mess. Like a bowl, filled to the brim with bits of brain, skull, and a whole bunch of blood.

That wasn’t supposed to happen. I looked over at Damien, who was on his butt on the ground, breathing heavily. His eyes connected with mine.

“Damien, go! Get the fuck out of here, run!” I yelled, and scrambled to my feet. Damien did the same. “No matter what happens, keep running, you hear? Don’t stop for shit, Damien!”

He listened, and ran ahead of me. I started following after him, but I didn’t make it far. I was tackled to the grass roughly, dirt slamming into my back as I turned mid-fall. Another god damn monster lady.

“That was my sister! I’ll gut you, half-titan scum!” She screamed in my face. Literally, we were so close I could feel her breath as she shrieked at me.

“Yeah, love you too, sweetheart.” I replied, catching a claw that was aimed right for my eye by the wrist. She shrieked at me once more. God damn, she was loud

“You worthless, limp-dick piece of shit blood traitor!” She made to slash at me with her other claw, but never got the chance. I snapped her wrist clean in half with ease. She bucked slightly, a scream of pain barely escaping her mouth as I shoved her off of me roughly. I got to my feet. She didn’t have time to, she was wallowing in the pain of a shattered, likely dislocated wrist. I took a step forward, and slammed one foot down on her unbroken arm, pinning it to the ground. I kneeled on her chest, looking down at her.

Hot damn, even I didn’t know I was this strong! Comes with being a kid of Atlas, I guess.

“What the fuck are you fairy-tale pieces of shit doing here, huh? Last I checked, you monsters worked solo, mainly. Though, it’s been a while since I’ve seen anything mythological.” I questioned casually. I wanted answers, I was gonna get answers.

A very human sounding scream sounded off from the battlefield, about sixty feet away. I guess the girls took a casualty. I kept my eyes on the monster below me, waiting for an answer. She stared up at me, rage and defiance in her eyes.

“You can either tell me, or I can break both your legs and drag you to those girls over there and let them decide what to do with you, woman.” I spat out.

She still said nothing, simply staring up at me in fury. I sighed.

“Alright, whatever. Guess I’ll just kill you, then.” I sighed.

Still kneeling on top of her, I grabbed her throat and gripped it, intent on choking the life out of her. She sputtered for a moment, before going completely silent, no air escaping her blocked windpipe as I squeezed the life out of her.

It wasn’t long before I tightened my grip even more, and her throat crumpled under the pressure. She spat up blood, some spreading on my already red-covered face. A few seconds passed, fleeting for me, agonizing for her, and then she stopped moving. I let go of her neck, vicious red marks adorning them. I got off of her. I looked over to where her sister lied, surprised to see nothing but a heap of golden dust. I turned back to look down at her, and saw her body already dissolving into the same gold glitter. I’ve never killed a monster before, I wonder if they all do that?

Whatever, onto bigger matters. Damien is a fucking demigod. That’s an issue, because he’s seen monsters before, and he’s not safe anymore. There’s a camp, somewhere in New York. It’s Camp Demi-something, or Half-something, I can’t remember. Ma told me about it, said I should probably stay away. The gods wouldn’t like my existence, probably. But if Damien is a demigod, I gotta take him there, don’t I?

My thoughts were interrupted by an arrow zipping past my head, into the ground in front of me. I turned, a remark already on my tongue. If it’s an arrow, that means the silver girls won.

“Now, ain’t that a first impression?” I said, turning to meet the gaze of eight girls clad in silver jackets, all with angry looks on their faces. Off to the side, one girl was leaned up against the tree, blood seeping from a deep claw wound on her side. Another kneeled next to her, attempting to stop the bleeding. Golden dust riddled the woods.

The oldest looking one stepped forward, looking less angry than the rest, but still not happy. Her deep, emerald eyes stared into mine. She had light blonde hair, lacking frizz of any kind. One could say she was beautiful, I say she’d probably kill me if she got the chance. She looked to be about fifteen or sixteen.

“Are you a half-blood?” She asked, sternly.

I shrugged, “Yeah, somethin’ like that.”

She scoffed, some of the girls behind her shook their heads or muttered something to the girl beside them.

“Do you know who your parent is?” She inquired.

I did, but there’s no way in fuck I’m telling this chick. I didn’t wanna outright lie, though.

“Maybe I do, maybe I don’t. I’m sure you’re all nice gals, would love to get to know ya better, but Adelina is gonna beat my ass if I don’t get home soon, so,” I turned around, started to walk away, “see y’all later.”

I made it, at most, two steps before a sharp, stabbing pain ripped through the back of my knee. I fell to one knee, kneeling down on the dirt.

These girls are really testin’ my patience.

“Oh, mother fucker !” I yelled, slamming my fist into the ground, making a sizable dent and sending a plume of dirt into the air. A thud resonated through the silence of the woods, the once light breeze now long gone.

I heard footsteps behind me. A younger girl, looking about my age, with brown hair and brown eyes stepped in front of me. She was obviously less experienced than the girl from before, the way she moved didn’t give off much authority or power.

She squatted down in front of me.

“You don’t have any weapons, and probably any training either. You’re in no position to act like you’re in control of the situation.” She said, condescendingly.

I glared up at her, a smile creeping onto my face.

“You’re damn right, I don’t have weapons. But you saw what I did to those monster bitches with my bare hands. If I was anyone else, I’d have snapped your neck and been done with it.” I pointed out, her eyes widening as she realized just how close she was to me. She scrambled back a bit. “Don’t look down on me, girl. You’re just as inexperienced as I am, ain’t ya?”

I made a big show of slowly standing up, even with an arrow stuck through my knee. It hurt like a bitch, but I bet it looked cool as hell.

I turned, ignoring the pain in my leg, and looked at the authoritarian looking girl again. I noticed one girl with her bow in her hands, ready to fire. I bet she was the bitch that shot me.

“What do y’all want with me? I just wanna get back to Grandspring, I don’t have any interest in the Greek world.” I stated, throwing my arms to the side.

The girls around her looked like they wanted to gut me, but the leader waved a hand at them. She focused her eyes on me once more. “We’re not going to let an unknown demigod with strength like yours run wild. We don’t know what you’re capable of, and considering the current situation, we can’t afford you joining the enemy.”

She took a light step forward, “You’re coming with us, we’re going to deliver you to Camp Half-Blood.”

Not good.

I sighed, and leaned down to my knee. I gripped the arrow sticking out of it, and snapped it in half, throwing it to the side and pushing the other end still stuck in me out the other side of my knee. It hurt, yeah, but I’m a big boy with an unreasonable pain tolerance. I straightened my back, stretching slightly. A bit of blood poured from my wound, but it was nothing too serious. I could still run.

“Listen, I’m sure y’all’ve got a reasonable reason for wanting to take me back to this camp, but that doesn’t really work out well for me. Do me a favor, there was a kid with me here earlier, Damien.” I began stretching my legs, “He lives at Grandspring Boarding Home. He’s ten, he’s got brown hair, and his eyes are blue. He’s always got this curious glint in them, you can’t miss him. You’ll know him when you see him. Do me a solid, and take him to that camp instead of me. He’s a demigod, after all.”

And with that, I leapt.

I leapt as high as I possibly could, and pushed myself as far forward as possible. I’d never gone all out with my strength, I didn’t wanna hurt anyone or draw attention to myself, but I didn’t have any choice this time.

I soared.

I flew high into the air, dirt flying everywhere, and soared through the air. Rushing wind whipped by my head, stinging my eyes. I reached the peak of my leap, and then the ground was fast approaching. I bent my knees and rammed into the ground, steadying myself easily. Another cloud of dust went into the air as I landed. I glanced behind me. The girls were about one hundred feet away, and were hot on my ass. Once more, I leapt. I leapt, I leapt, and I leapt.

I can’t count the amount of times an arrow just barely missed me as I made my dramatic getaway from the hunters, their training and experience in tracking and hunting almost outweighing my overwhelming strength, but in the end, I got away. Can’t catch me, fuckers.

After minutes upon minutes of leaping, I made it to the edge of the forest. I quickly dashed into the park, pushing my now-burning and exhausted legs as fast as they would go. I zipped through the park, and made it back into the streets, only a few people noticed my superhuman entrance. I dashed into the afternoon crowd, walking with a huge mass of people, so big that Sherlock Holmes would have a tough time pointing me out amongst the crowd. I began making my way to Grandspring, I’m gonna grab my shit, then get the fuck out of here. Maybe I’ll go back to Kentucky, and live the rest of my life as a vagabond. A nomad, maybe. Traveling the state by foot, checking out all of the… amazing Kentuckian sights. Okay, maybe not Kentucky, but I’ll go somewhere.

I noticed no sign of the hunters as I made my way through the crowd, making it to Grandspring slowly. It wasn’t long until I arrived at the front door, and threw it open.

“Baron! What did I tell you about making too much noise, huh?!” I heard Adelina yell from the kitchen. I waved at her absentmindedly and muttered a quick sorry, and darted up the stairs.

In seconds, I was in my room, grabbing my backpack and pouring all of my school shit out of it. I ransacked my closet, ripping out every piece of clothing that could possibly fit, and stuffed it into my bag. I ripped my phone off the charger and shoved it in my pocket. I grabbed a pencil and a piece of paper from the pile of school supplies on my floor and scribbled a note on it, and left it on my bed. It was simple enough, but made it clear I had to go. ‘CANT STAY. NOT SAFE. PEOPLE AFTER ME AND DAMIEN.’

Yeah, sure, the hunters didn’t want to kidnap Damien like they wanted to kidnap me, but they were probably going to take him to Camp Half-Blood for his own safety. They just thought I was dangerous, they didn’t give a fuck about me. I grabbed my bag and whipped around, dashing out the doorway.

And right into a hunter.

Alright, baby! First chapter down. I’m not gonna change it either way, but do people on this site not like first person? I’ve seen a lot of first person hate, dunno why.

Anyways, hell yeah, story is out.

Pointing out the maybe obvious, but it’s obviously the future. It’s 2021, cause Titans Curse happened in 2008, and Baron is 13. So, we’re gonna see some of the adult Seven.

Trials of Apollo didn’t happen, number one cause I didn’t read them, and number two cause I fuckin’ love Jason and he’s going in this story.

Next chapter will feature a small scuffle, Baron and Damien in camp half blood, and the Seven’s kids. Young kids, though. Like, at the oldest eight. Blood of Olympus was in 2011, so it’s ten years after the second gigantomachy.

One last thing before I end this ramble, I haven’t read the books in years. So forgive me if there’s some inaccuracies.

Bye bye.
