Work Text:
Kai didn’t know what to do with himself when an idol from another group called him over to talk.
His palms dampened with sweat as he followed a similarly aged young man, who was holding a rose, to a quieter place. Which was nearly impossible in the chaotic Inkigayo building.
Biting his lip, Kai struggled to recall the boy's name. Did it start with a J? Or was it a G? Seeing that Kai was horrible with names and how unfamiliar he was with this group, his embarrassment only rose.
They found an empty music room for them to talk in and upon shutting the door, they faced each other. With a good distance between them, Kai could distinguish his features properly. He was slightly shorter than him, with a small build and a neutral expression.
Kai didn’t know what his intentions were or why the boy was holding a rose. He half expected him to beat him up, yell at him, or something. But the guy appeared to grow increasingly nervous as time passed.
No one had said anything for a moment, so Kai decided to speak up first, delivering a kind smile. “You’re from—”
“I like you, sunbaenim.”
Kai’s eyes widened.
So that’s what this was about. He’s heard of this before. Idols asking other idols out at music shows, though he’s never actually seen or experienced it.
He never thought he’d get confessed to in this way, let alone by someone of the same gender.
“I know you probably haven’t seen me before, but I’ve been watching you ever since you debuted.” The boy took another step forward, his face was completely red. “You inspired me to debut. I-I really look up to you. I think you’re really pretty and kind, and I love watching your performances…would you give me a chance? Maybe we could be friends first?” The boy smiled nervously, with hope in his eyes.
Kai processed the words as they hung in the air. It was a lot to take in.
“Sorry. I rambled.” Worry was in his eyes as the boy continued, “I know this is strange... You don’t like boys, do you?”
Kai's mind raced into overdrive as he tried to find answers to his many questions.
This might be a good opportunity to make a friend, but what then? What if he expects more from this friendship? He doesn’t know him well, and Kai wondered if being friends would be ideal in the long run, especially for him.
As Kai grappled with the situation, another thought emerged. With the career he currently had, what were the chances of getting a significant other? A boyfriend at that. He’d have to search the crevices of the earth to find another idol who likes boys and is also interested in him. It’d be like finding a needle in a haystack.
In all honesty, it scared him. It was possible for Kai to never develop feelings for him—he didn’t want to unintentionally hurt him.
Kai found it difficult to make meaningful connections with people. He’s befriended idols before, but it didn’t lead to lasting friendships. He found comfort in the small circle of his close friends and family.
He supposes new relationships aren’t something he’s particularly ready to indulge in.
Kai would need to think carefully about an answer that wouldn't out himself.
“I appreciate your kind words,” Kai said with a nervous smile. He glanced at the ground, calculating his words. "But I don’t think I’m ready for something like that.”
“Oh.” The boy’s shoulder dropped. “Not even as friends?”
“It’s nothing personal…” Kai said. He watched as the boy in front of him deflated.
A pause in the air—the awkwardness was killing him.
“I know it took a lot of courage to say that, I’m sorry,” Kai finished.
The boy pursed his lips, taking a moment to think. Eventually, he opened his mouth, hesitated, then closed it again. “It’s alright.” The rose dropped to his side. ”I’ll see you around, sunbaenim.”
His head was lowered as he hurried out of the room.
Kai was truly flattered. But the idea of giving this boy false hope didn’t sit right with him. He wondered if he’d ever regret it. He had hoped he let him down easy—he never did learn his name after all.
“Where were you? And why is your face red?” Yeonjun spoke from across their private room at the Inkigayo building.
Beomgyu gasped. “Oh my god, did you just jack off?”
“No, I did not, that’s crude!” Kai yelled back, closing the door behind him.
"Guys, please, the makeup artist will be here soon,” Taehyun said as he lay on the couch, scrolling through his phone.
Soobin sat in front of the mirror, watching something on his phone. “Right, we’ll talk about it later. Get into your chairs, please.”
Kai thought about the earlier incident for the remainder of the day. He’s never been confessed to before, so it had quite a significant effect on him.
He wondered if that boy had watched his performance that same day. He wondered if he took it well or if he was dealing with the heartbreak that Kai caused. He felt guilty—guilty for not reciprocating his feelings.
It wasn’t until a week later that a similar event occurred.
After their performance, they all decided to have lunch at the Music Bank cafeteria, as they usually do.
When Kai unwrapped his sandwich, a piece of paper fell out and landed on the table, revealing a phone number and a brief sentence.
Kai’s mouth hung open upon reading it.
I’m interested in you, sunbaenim. I hope we can talk soon.
From, Dong-won. 536-XXX-XXXX
“What is that?” Beomgyu pointed out.
“It’s, uh, a receipt,” Kai said, flipping the paper to show the blank side.
Soobin, who was sitting beside him, snatched the paper from his hands. After a moment of realization, he simply looked at Kai with an unknown expression.
“Lemme see.” Yeonjun plucked the paper from Soobin’s hands, munching away at his lunch. His chewing came to a halt as he read. “No way.”
“What? What is it?!” Beomgyu leaned over Yeonjun's shoulder. “Holy shit!”
“I’m gonna assume that someone is interested in our Kai.” Taehyun took a sip of his juice.
“This is so exciting! Who’s the lucky person?” Beomgyu voiced.
Yeonjun squinted. “Dong…won? Wait, I think I know him.”
“Him? Oh wow, that’s bold.”
It couldn’t be the same person, could it? Dong-won was a member of a group that had just made its debut if he remembered correctly. Unfortunately, he can’t put a face to the name.
Kai is very aware of the unspoken rules surrounding dating with their type of lifestyle. Nonetheless, he didn’t want to be teased. Kai could practically feel Soobin’s stare burning him down.
A meek smile grew on Kai’s face. “I think he just wants to be friends.”
He would hope the message was a sincere offer of friendship.
“If he just wanted to be friends, he wouldn’t be this secretive,” Taehyun responded.
“Exactly.” A smirk grew on Beomgyu’s face, pointing towards Kai. “His ears are red, oh my god that’s so cute.”
Having been caught, Kai held back a laugh, hiding his face with his sweater.
“That’s freaking adorable.” Yeonjun reached over the table to pinch his cheeks, which Kai smacked away.
Taehyun unwrapped his sandwich. "So, what are you going to do?”
A good question indeed. Kai hadn’t considered the possibility of one person liking him, let alone two. It was all very new to him, and he currently didn’t have the brain power to process it all.
He almost didn’t feel worthy. That someone can see him romantically, someone who wants to hold his hand, kiss him, and maybe be intimate—
“Holy shit, his whole face is red now,” Beomgyu laughed.
“I didn’t know you liked boys.”
Soobin broke his silence, his words lingered, and the rest were made to realize their surroundings.
His members were aware of Kai’s ambiguous sexuality. Luckily, they were able to pick up Kai’s hints, such as using words like a partner and muttering responses to personal questions that hit a little too close to home on intoxicated nights.
Kai never brought it up, and neither did they. Though they never actually talked about it, there seemed to be an unspoken acceptance, and that was enough for Kai.
He fixed his gaze on the table. Unease settled as more people walked into the cafeteria, and new people sat at the neighboring table.
“Keep your voice down,” Taehyun said in an almost whisper.
Yeonjun fixed a smile. “Let’s talk about this later, okay?”
As if on cue, a group of male idols came by their table to talk to Yeonjun. Ultimately, ending the conversation there.
A few weeks passed, and the whole situation was behind him. As Kai sat in the makeup chair, he saw his phone light up from the table beside him.
“Could you pass me my phone?” Kai asked no one in particular, not wanting to move his head and inconvenience the makeup artists.
Soobin, who was the closest to him, passed it to him.
The home screen was on, and the message to him read:
This is Mu-yeol. I got your number from a friend of mine. I admit I’d had a crush on you for a long time and I’d like to get to know you better. Do you want to go out sometime? I heard we liked similar things, we should watch anime together! Hope you respond soon <3 !!
Kai couldn’t help but stare at the screen for a few minutes.
For Kai to get virtually no confessions to having three confessions within the month was giving him whiplash. Was this a joke? An elaborate plan? Why is this happening now? And so fast? Kai didn’t know who these people were, let alone see their faces. It was so very strange.
Soobin was acting weird.
Some days he wouldn’t even look at Kai. Some days it seemed like he was attempting to talk to him, but it came across as awkward and stilted.
On this day in particular, Kai was just about fed up with it. Soobin sat on the couch in the living room, watching an anime that they had promised they’d watch together.
Seizing the opportunity, Kai sneaked up behind the couch and swiftly placed Soobin into a chokehold.
Soobin screamed in surprise and struggled to get Kai’s arm off of him.
“That’s how it’s going to be, huh?” Kai kept him in place for a while longer. “You hate me so much that you’d watch the next episode without me?”
“I-I don’t—let go of me!” Soobin pleaded, struggling to move Kai’s arms from his neck.
“No.” Kai strengthened his grip. “You shall be punished with an eternity of awful isekai anime.”
“Please! Anything but that!” Soobin exclaimed.
Kai finally let go of Soobin and opted to sit on him, pinning him down to the couch to prevent him from escaping.
“Why are you avoiding me?” Kai grilled.
“I-I’m not avoiding you.” Soobin’s eyes darted away from him.
“Oh really?” Kai tightened his grip on his thighs to prevent Soobin from squirming. “We’ve barely spoken. You stopped coming into my room. Worst of all, you watched Jujutsu Kaisen without me!”
“I can explain.”
Kai glared at him, waiting for an answer. However, Soobin didn’t reply fast enough for Kai’s liking, and he began tickling his sides.
“Wait! Okay!” Soobin blurted. “T-Those guys!” That was all he managed to say in between giggles.
Kai stopped in his tracks. He tilted his head in confusion. “Those guys?”
Soobin caught his breath before speaking. “You know, the ones sending you those very romantic confessions.”
“Oh,” Kai replied, still very confused. “What about them?”
“They…I mean…” Soobin paused, carefully choosing his words. “I’m sorry, it’s dumb. I shouldn’t have ignored you.”
Kai thought for a moment. Fearing the worst, he said, “Is it because I like boys?”
It was the first time Kai had ever voiced it out loud, and a pit began to grow in his stomach.
“What? No! Not at all!” Soobin shook his head profusely, easing some discomfort in Kai’s stomach. “It’s just… Maybe it’s not such a good idea, you know? Dating it could, like, affect the group... and all.”
Kai furrowed his eyebrow. He knew that there was probably more to that. “Are you saying this as my leader or best friend?”
“Leader…”
“Okay.” Genuinely interested in his next words, Kai leaned closer to Soobin. "So... what does my best friend have to say about this?”
“I think…you could—you could do better!” Soobin scoffed. “I mean, seriously? A faceless confession? They should’ve been on their knees, with roses and doves flying everywhere!”
“I’m not getting married, hyung,” Kai laughed. “The first guy who confessed to me did bring me a rose though.”
“The first guy…?”
“Right, I didn’t tell you guys... He, uh, never actually told me his name. But he brought me into the music room at Inkigayo and confessed to me."
“Wh—why am I just hearing about this? What’d he say?”
“Um.” Kai thought back to that day. “He told me I inspired him to debut, and he told me I was pretty, kind, and stuff like that... then he asked me to be friends.”
Soobin stared at him once again, expressionless.
“What’d you say?” Soobin finally asked.
“I rejected him.”
Soobin paused, then spoke again, “What about that other guy? The one with the note…or the one who sent you a message…”
Kai fake gasped. “You looked!”
“It wasn’t on purpose, I swear!”
Kai sighed and pinched his cheek. He’s asking a lot of questions. “I rejected them too.”
Soobin pressed his lips together. “Why?”
“Why?” Kai repeated. “Dunno…felt like that was the right choice at the time. Plus, you said it yourself, it could affect the group.”
“Do you regret it?”
Kai wondered what had gotten into him.
“No. I like the way things are right now,” Kai answered.
Soobin pulled Kai into his space. Nestled on the couch, Soobin wrapped his arms around Kai’s shoulders.
“Good,” Soobin mumbled into Kai’s temple. “You deserve someone better.”
Kai’s heart skipped a beat. Didn’t he just say it was bad for the team?
Kai laughed. “Better than that? It was a pretty honest confession if you ask me.”
“Yes, I better see them lick the ground you walk on.”
Kai cringed. “Gross!”
“And I—we call you pretty all the time.”
Kai laughed again. “Right, but it’s the implications, hyung.”
“Implications?”
Kai was practically talking to Soobin’s collarbone at this point, he wondered if he felt uncomfortable breathing on his neck like this. “Yes, romantic implications,” he explained.
“What’s the difference? I think you’re pretty,” Soobin hummed as he tucked his nose into the side of Kai’s neck. “Sooo pretty, Hueningie.”
Kai felt a tingle down his spine. Kai ignored his compliments and continued, “That was my first confession too, I never had someone tell me they were interested in me before.”
“What? But you’re so pretty, and you have such a cute nose,” Soobin mumbled into the back of his ear.
That was the third time Soobin called him pretty, and at this point, Kai’s ears really began to burn. He knew he was being teased, yet a part of him wasn’t entirely sure if he wanted him to stop.
Kai wondered if there was something underlying about himself that he wasn’t ready to uncover. But he’ll save that internal conversation for another day.
Kai flipped himself back, straddling Soobin. With a flushed face, he flicked Soobin’s forehead.
“I-I’m restarting the episode.” Kai stammered. Frantically looking for the remote.
Soobin smiled at the camera that stood before him. “Please check out our new album!”
The speakers came alive with music from their newest album, and the members as well as the Music Bank interviewers danced along.
It was a bit awkward, not knowing the idol interviewers personally, and the questions were pretty generic. But it was a good spot for promotion for their performance.
They answered questions regarding what their album meant and demonstrated choreography, which made the crowd go wild. Jokes were scripted as always, but it wasn’t rare for them to go off script.
“So tell me, Hueningkai,” the male interviewer said.
Kai perked up at the sound of his name. Surprised that he had a question directed specifically at him. Did he forget this part of the script?
“Wow!” The interviewer continued, stepping a bit closer toward Kai. “You just get more and more handsome each time you come back, you know that?”
Not part of the script. Yet he went with the flow, and Kai smiled gracefully. “Ah, thank you!”
“I gotta say you have the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen. I’m sure MOA agrees, right guys?” He pointed toward the crowd, to which they erupted into a cheer. “I mean, just look at you guys, I bet your music video turned out great! Are you doing anything later?” The MC stared directly at him.
With all eyes on him, Kai found it difficult to respond. There was no doubt that the last question was aimed at him. He was incredibly bold, and Kai wasn't sure if the MC was blatantly flirting with him or if he had just happened to miss this section of the script.
“Actually!” Soobin interrupted, a forced smile plastered on his face. “We are doing something later. We’ll start recording our Japanese releases soon.”
“Really? That’s great!” The female MC spoke. “We heard that you guys are going on tour soon, should we be expecting an official announcement?”
That’s his leader. Soobin gracefully brought everyone back to the original script.
The rest of the interview went by without a problem, except for the periodic glances the male MC would give him.
Surely he’ll have to hear more about this later.
“I can’t believe him!” Soobin exclaimed, throwing his arms up in frustration. “That was so unprofessional! I mean, who does that? Who, in their right mind, flirts with the interviewee? Right there, right in front of an audience!”
They were back in their private room, waiting for the stylists to come by with their new change of clothes.
“I gotta hand it to him. He shot his shot,” Yeonjun said as he lay on the couch next to Beomgyu.
“Shot? There shouldn’t have been a shot to take! There’s a time and place, god, that was embarrassing,” Soobin complained, crossing his arms.
Beomgyu stared at him. “This has got you reaaaal worked up, huh?”
Before Soobin could respond, Taehyun spoke. “I agree with Soobin, there is a time and place for it, but the deed is done.” Taehyun took a sip of water. "Luckily, our Kai is an amazing actor and went along with it.”
“Where is he anyway?” Beomgyu asked.
They all looked around the room.
“I think I saw him go with that guy—” Yeonjun stated.
“Guy? Where?” Soobin interrupted.
“Uh, the MC. They went toward the bathrooms—”
Soobin immediately turned a heel and began to speed walk toward the door.
“Wait! Dude, he’s not going to die, you need to chill out.”
Soobin bit his lip, eager to leave. “I am chill. I just need to talk to him.”
The door shut, leaving a heavy silence in the room.
“He’s an idiot.”
“Yep.”
Somehow, Kai knew that this would happen.
Kai was dragged to a quiet corner near the bathrooms—quite the romantic spot to confess, if you ask him. It was foolish for him to believe this guy just wanted an innocent conversation.
“I’m not interested,” Kai repeated for the tenth time.
“Playing hard to get aren’t you?” He leaned against the wall. “Word on the street says you’re interested in men, so why not? There’s not that many of us in the industry that take chances.”
Word on the street? Is that why there was a sudden influx of guys confessing to him?
Kai furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. “What are you talking about?”
“People are saying you’ve rejected like, what, ten guys? In the market for a good boyfriend? Been there.”
“What? No that’s not—”
“Give me a chance, hm? I’ll take you to a nice dinner. We can play video games after…or you know, we can always do something else.” He stepped forward with a haughty smile.
Kai visibly cringed, taking a step back from him. It was clear this guy had a big ego and wouldn’t take no for an answer.
“I should head back now.”
“So early? Come on, let’s get to know each other—”
Kai felt a sudden yank pulling him back, and stepping into his view was a visibly irritated Soobin.
Surprised, the MC spoke with a dry smile. “Soobin! How’s it going? We’re in the middle of something right now—”
“Shut up.” Soobin held his hand up to silence him. “Listen.” Soobin’s tone was low, likely to avoid any attention. “Don’t pull that shit again. If you’re going off script, direct it towards me, okay? And for the millionth time, Kai said no. He is way too kind to tell you to fuck off, so if you could kindly do just that, that’d be great!”
Kai's eyebrows rose in surprise. Was he searching for him? He wasn’t gone for too long. It wasn’t often for Soobin to be pissed, let alone act on it.
The MC's mouth parted open, he glanced at Kai, then glanced back at Soobin. “I understand now. I'll back off, man. It’s just that—”
“I’m so glad we came to an agreement!” Soobin said with a strained smile. “Goodbye!”
Without giving him time to squeeze out another word, Soobin dragged Kai back down the hallway. They didn’t say much on the way back.
Nor did they say much on the way back home.
The stuffiness of his room was killing him. Kai tossed his switch onto the side of the bed. Unable to focus on his game properly, he stuffed his face with his pillow in frustration.
Was Soobin always like this? Would he have done the same for Yeonjun? Beomgyu? Taehyun? Soobin wasn’t a very difficult person to read, yet at this moment, he couldn’t read him at all.
Is it possible that Soobin is…jealous?
If Soobin wasn’t going to talk to him, then he’d just burst into his room and get the answers himself.
Soobin was on his desk, typing away at his laptop. He nearly screamed as Kai snuck up behind him.
“You scared me!” Soobin flinched.
“You’re doing it again.” Kai flicked his forehead. “Stop ignoring me, you’ve been acting weird.”
Soobin avoided his gaze. “I know, I’m sorry.” He reached out for Kai’s hands. “I just needed some time to think.”
Kai knew he couldn’t stay mad at him for long. He pinched Soobin’s cheeks in response. “Think about what?”
Soobin let himself be pinched by Kai, a small smile growing on his face. “Think about some stuff. I’m sorry I acted like that.”
Kai raised an eyebrow. “It’s okay. I don’t get to see big, intimidating leader Soobin often. I should have brought some popcorn and soda if I had known~” He teased.
“Oh, shut up.” Soobin fiddled with Kai’s fingers. “He was so unprofessional, don’t you think? Saying those things on camera, pulling you away when we’re clearly busy. A persistent jackass if you ask me.”
“Unprofessional?” Kai took a moment to think. Well, they weren’t that busy. “I guess he was, that’s what’s got you so worked up?”
Sure, he was unprofessional, but nothing he hadn’t seen before. In the eyes of the audience, it was all fanservice. Everything else was true about him—he was a jackass.
Soobin continued, “I just…I didn’t like him, is all.”
Kai hummed. He knew it wasn’t just about the unprofessionalism, so he pushed further. “I get it. He was an ass, but it was quite the response for someone who was just flirting with me~” he poked.
Soobin’s lips slowly transformed into a pout. “I did it for us.”
Kai cocked his head, wondering what he meant by that.
“For the team,” Soobin clarified with a straight face.
It took Kai all of his might to not start laughing. He couldn’t hold it for too long, though, as he promptly burst into a fit of giggles.
“W-What’s so funny?”
“‘For the team you said.” Kai slapped Soobin’s shoulder in a fit of laughter.
“Is that so hard to believe!?” Soobin exclaimed, mildly offended.
“No, it’s not.” Kai giggled, collecting himself. “But I simply can’t believe it this time. Hyung, you’re jealous.”
Soobin’s eyes are blown wide open. “Jealous? What—no, why would I be?!”
Oh, he’s cute. Soobin doesn’t realize it, but his neck flushes red whenever he’s embarrassed. He’s so jealous.
“Dunno, he said I had beautiful eyes and whatnot. Which I do! I'll have to thank him for noticing.” Kai smiled, knowing he'd never talk to that guy again.
“No, you can’t!”
“I’m kidding, obviously. I got you wrapped around my little finger, don’t I?” Kai teased.
“Maybe,” Soobin replied. Kai froze, fully expecting Soobin to deny him. “He was right, you do have pretty eyes and a pretty nose.” His eyes sparkled upon saying those words.
Soobin was doing it again, complementing his features at random, and Kai was getting increasingly nervous.
“Pff, he didn’t say that last part,” Kai said, keeping his cool.
Soobin pulled Kai by the waist, nearly pulling him into his lap, but Kai stood his ground.
“What, that you have a pretty nose?”
Kai swallowed thickly. “Yeah...”
“Well, you do.”
While Soobin remained seated in his chair, Kai cast a quick glance down at him. Observing the way Soobin's fringe lay softly on his face, the glow that came from his freshly washed face, and how his lip mask made his lips plump and glossier than usual.
Kai absentmindedly brushed the fringe from Soobin’s face, and Soobin instinctively leaned into the touch. Speak for yourself, Kai thought.
“Stop saying that,” Kai mumbled.
“It’s true. You know it too.”
Kai had always had a complicated relationship with his face. You could say being mixed has its ups and downs. But recently, he's built more confidence in himself and can say that, yes, he does have a cute nose.
However, he wasn’t quite sure how to feel when Soobin agreed.
“It's different when you say it,” Kai said, his voice slightly cracking at the end. He hoped Soobin didn’t notice.
“Why? We all do it.”
Kai didn’t have an answer. “Because…” He trailed off.
“Because? Because your face turns tomato red every time I say it?” Soobin said with a stupid grin spreading across his face.
Kai entertained the idea of strangling the smirk off of his face. But he chose to choke him again, which escalated into a wrestle.
Soobin managed to get an advantage and threw Kai onto the bed, tickling his sides till he stopped fighting back.
“Okay, I give up! Please!” Kai yelled in between laughter.
Soobin pinned Kai down, and they both took a moment to catch their breaths.
Kai took a moment to admire Soobin once again. From the excited features on his face to a strand of hair sticking to the side of his cheek, Kai held back from wiping it away.
“That’s it, right? You like it when people call you pretty? Beautiful? Gorgeous even?” Soobin nuzzled his nose underneath Kai’s ear. “Such a cute nose, cute lips... it’s no wonder everyone wants you.”
Kai’s brain short-circuited. His pulse quickened, and he sensed the heat radiating from his face.
Lips… Did he hear that right? Kai was suddenly too self-conscious about his face, especially under Soobin's watchful gaze.
Kai heard similar things from his members as well as from his fans, but Soobin's wording was different. Different in the sense that he wouldn't have noticed if he hadn't been gently brushing his lips behind his ear and holding his waist these past few weeks.
With Soobin’s prolonged eye contact, captivating smile, and those stupid dimples that felt as if they were squeezing at his heart.
Kai glanced at his slightly glossy, parted lips and thought about what it would feel like to put them against his.
He blinked. The air in the room became stuffy. He blinked again and finally took a breath that he didn’t know he was holding. What is he thinking?
“There's a spider on the ceiling, by the way,” Kai calmly stated.
Soobin jumped back and screamed.
Kai stuck his tongue out. “Just kidding~”
Seeing that no bug lived on his walls, he smacked Kai on the shoulder.
Kai was currently in a dilemma. He had quite the list of things for his bingo card this year, but wanting to kiss his best friend was not one of them. He decided it was just a simple, fleeting thought and tried not to give it too much thought.
As he stood up to leave Soobin's bed, Kai stretched his muscles and cracked his neck.
“Where are you going?” Soobin asked.
“Hm? Oh, I’m going back to my room.”
“Why don’t you sleep here?” Soobin added, patting the bed. “It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Let’s watch something.”
It wasn’t an unusual request. After all, it was one of Kai’s favorite things to do with him—snuggling up in bed and watching anime.
"What, so you can tease me all night long?" Kai narrowed his eyes. "Are you keeping me aaaaall to yourself because someone is a little bit jealous?"
Soobin couldn’t help but flash a guilty smile before diverting his eyes elsewhere, which only validated Kai’s statement.
Perhaps Soobin did do it for the sake of the team. And here Kai is teasing him about it. Their precious, protective leader, Soobin—who’d do anything for his members.
He probably imagined those thoughts anyway. Not a big deal.
Kai endearingly pinched Soobin’s cheek. “I’ll go get some extra blankets~”
He didn’t imagine it.
Kai failed miserably at suppressing his thoughts.
Sitting shoulder to shoulder with Soobin made him hyperaware of his actions. He found it difficult to focus on the laptop in front of him because of the way Soobin gently twiddled with his fingers, occasionally gliding his thumb over his palm. His hands were warm compared to the coldness of his own.
They were always physically affectionate toward each other. But everything felt different now, he couldn’t help but feel particularly sensitive to Soobin’s touch.
Kai stood still like a statue, afraid to make any movement that might be deemed unusual.
He couldn't help but remember all of their times spent together in this very room, laughing and cuddling until one of them passed out. Gently waking each other up to get dressed for work, only to return to Soobin's company the same night.
Kai thought back to Soobin’s lips from earlier and how he wanted to feel them against his.
Perhaps it wasn’t such a fleeting idea. Soobin is handsome, kind, and occasionally a bit of a loser, but hey, they both were. Being unafraid to be himself with Kai and the other members was something Kai cherished about him.
Kai peeped at Soobin, who was seemingly focused on the anime. He glanced at Soobin’s lips, wanting to confirm that what he felt was real.
They were perfectly shaped, pink, and slightly parted—a habit of his when he was deeply focused on something.
Kai was restless. He wanted to tip his chin up and examine those lips for himself, gliding his thumb against them and feeling them against the pad of his thumbs. He wanted to find out what had got Kai so enamored over the idea of kissing Soobin. He really wanted to know.
But how badly did Kai want to know?
Kai’s heart leaped to his throat when Soobin caught him staring. An endearing, confused smile on his face. “What?”
Maybe he should find out.
“Why are you just staring at me—”
Kai made the boldest move of his life and closed the small gap between him and Soobin.
Soobin’s breath hitched as his eyes fluttered closed upon feeling his lips press against Kai’s.
It was a stupid decision, really. Kai was testing the waters, and the waters seemed to be very happy with his decision making. It was a soft, lingering kiss, and he couldn’t stop, not when they added more tension to the kiss by the second.
However, Kai couldn’t fully decide if he should continue this journey. He pulled back, their lips hovering over each other. There was a sort of vulnerability in Kai and Soobin’s gaze, a type of gaze that acknowledges the step into uncharted territory.
Soobin stared at him for a moment before focusing his attention back on Kai’s lips. With no time to think, no time for consideration, he pulled Kai into another gentle kiss, testing the waters once again.
It felt so normal for Kai. Like, this was something they should have been doing all this time.
They were warm and as soft as he imagined. The heat grew in his stomach as he felt Soobin tilt his head to put more pressure on his lips, pulling him closer by the jaw.
Oh. Kai liked this. He decided to slowly push the boundaries further by slightly parting his lips, wondering what Soobin would do, wondering if he would push any further too.
Soobin lightly grazed Kai’s bottom lip with his teeth, pulling him even closer by the waist.
Kai’s mind was buzzing, and his spine tingled. His mind went completely blank, drunk on Soobin’s touch, Soobin’s lips, the way Soobin’s fringe tickled his face, the way Soobin caressed his cheek. He could practically hear his own heartbeat through his ears.
With tongue being introduced, Kai held onto Soobin’s sweater with clammy hands, consistently losing his composure as Soobin licked the roof of his mouth.
Kai let out a soft moan that he so desperately held back.
Kai jolted back with widened eyes and a string of saliva following their lips. The moment they shared had finally caught up with him.
“Oh,” Kai muttered, trying to find the words to say.
Soobin who was of an equal expression, had his eyes widened, confused, or maybe surprised? Soobin’s neck and cheeks were flushed red and his lips were of a glossy, wet nature.
It has finally settled into Kai’s brain that he just made out with Soobin, his best friend, his soulmate, the leader of their group. Now that the dust had settled, he had time to think about the impulsive yet stupid decision he just made.
It wasn’t supposed to escalate the way it did. Kai was curious, but he didn’t ever think he’d ever act on his curiosity like that. Maybe he could have given him a peck on the lips and played it off he’d be okay, right? But Kai didn’t just give him a peck on the lips, he made out with him.
The worst part is, Kai liked it. He enjoyed it, even. And he would do anything to have a moment like that with Soobin again.
Kai made a very big mistake. He’s involved Soobin into his complicated thoughts and he doesn’t know what to do. He definitely knew now, that Kai wanted him in that way.
“I forgot to do my laundry!” Kai jumped from the bed. “I’ll see you tomorrow, hyung!”
Without allowing time for any discussion, Kai swiftly exited with the lingering presence of the lip mask on his lips.
Was it a dream?
Soobin got approximately 3 hours of sleep last night—burning a hole into the ceiling wondering what the fuck just happened.
Kai just suddenly kissed him out of nowhere, then up and left, acting like nothing happened.
Kai kissed him, and Soobin kissed him back.
Soobin had spent the rest of the night curled up in a ball, replaying that moment in his head over and over again.
Now that he’s thinking back on his behavior, he was oddly possessive of Kai, getting jealous at the mention of another guy, wanting to stick by him all the time, and calling him pretty, what was he thinking?
Oh fuck. Am I in love with Kai? Oh fuck, oh fuck.
Was it always like this?
Like a piano comically falling onto his head, he admitted to himself that, yes, he was acting weird, and yes, he was, in fact, in love with his bandmate. For a long time, Soobin wanted nothing more than to kiss him all over, and he’s just now realizing it.
The tip of his ears turned red in the mirror where he was brushing his teeth. Soobin tightened his grip on his toothbrush.
The question lingered in Soobin’s brain. Why did he kiss him? Did Kai notice his very obvious feelings for him?
He wanted answers, so he searched for Kai that day.
However, with a busy schedule and a long day ahead of him, it proved to be quite difficult.
There was unspoken tension between them. They didn’t speak during their car ride to Inkigayo, they didn’t speak as they were changing into their outfits, they didn’t speak while getting their makeup done, nor did they speak when they all ate lunch together. Their afternoon was about to end.
Neither of them knew what to say, and even if they did speak, it wasn’t appropriate to talk about it in front of everyone.
Despite the tension, Soobin caught Kai staring at him a few times while he changed into their stage outfits. Not surprisingly, Soobin did the same, occasionally sneaking looks at Kai when he was eating a popsicle on their break.
Now that their performance was complete, they could finally take a proper break before returning to their schedule. Everyone was relaxing in their private room, however, Soobin noticed the absence of a noticeable presence.
Soobin looked around. “Where’s Kai?”
Beomgyu was snacking on a bag of gummies on the couch. “Kai? Oh, I think he was pulled away by some guy.”
Soobin froze. A sense of deja vu crept up. “What?” He said with a bit of panic in his voice.
"About 10 minutes ago,” Beomgyu said casually. “Now, before you run off, are you two, like, okay? I sense weird air between the two of you.”
Soobin’s eye twitched. It can’t be the MC guy, can it? He thought he scared him off pretty good. What if it’s one of the other guys?
Soobin crossed his arms and bounced his leg impatiently. “Yes, we are completely fine,” he replied.
"Okay, bud, I definitely believe that.” Beomgyu scoffed, focusing his attention back on his phone.
As if on cue, Kai walked into the room.
Soobin snapped his head toward him. Racking his brain on how to ask his whereabouts in the calmest, least creepy way possible. Wondering if he was okay or if anyone bothered him again.
“Where were you?” Yeonjun spoke from the corner of the room.
“Just talking to a friend,” Kai replied nonchalantly, making himself comfortable next to Taehyun, who was falling asleep on the couch.
“It’s nice to see you finally make some friends,” Yeonjun remarked with a playful smile. “The managers brought us fruit by the way, you want one?” Yeonjun offered him a kebab of fruit.
“Yes please~” Kai replied in his aegyo voice, taking a bite from the kebab Yeonjun held out.
Soobin let out a silent exhale, settling down on the makeup chair. Kai seemed fine.
It’s safe to assume that someone pulled Kai away to confess to him again. Wait, but he said he was talking to a friend. A friend? Does Soobin know him? Are they interested in Kai?
But more importantly, is Kai interested in them?
Soobin stared at the ground, biting his lip. He had a lot to contemplate, and he wasn’t quite sure what to do with this discovery of feelings he had for Kai. The kiss they shared only made his head rattle even more, what could it mean?
For once, Soobin didn’t want to run away. He didn’t like the awkwardness of it all. He wanted to talk it out with Kai and possibly repair any form of friendship that was left.
But Kai was avoiding him like the plague, even when they came home, he immediately shut himself in his room for the rest of the night. He supposes it’s not unusual, but if Kai locked his door it meant don't bother me, please.
The next day wasn’t any better, when they did speak, it usually involved business, and even then, it came out awkward.
Kai was suspiciously engrossed in his phone during breaks and even in between photoshoots. He occasionally giggled at his phone, and it nudged Soobin’s curiosity further.
It wasn’t until Soobin took a peek from his peripheral vision that he saw that Kai was texting someone by the name of Ji-hun.
Oh.
With the new discovery of Kai’s friend, Soobin took another peek while Kai was getting his makeup done, just to make sure.
Ji-hun…He thought that name sounded familiar. If he was correct, he was part of a new boy group that debuted not too long ago. He had a small build and was around the same age as Kai.
Soobin bounced his leg anxiously on the car ride home, fearing the worst. Everyone was practically asleep except for Kai, who sat next to him and was typing away on his phone.
Before Kai locked himself into his room, this was Soobin’s chance to say something about it.
“Hueningie,” Soobin said in a hushed tone, as to avoid anyone else hearing.
Kai turned away from his phone to look at him, waiting for him to continue.
Kai looked uncertain and nervous. Soobin switched his gaze to the ground. “We should talk…”
A short silence filled the car, a silent agreement that they'd talk when they got home. “Okay.”
They weren’t home for long, but Soobin spent the majority of his time burning even more holes into the ceiling, carefully thinking about what he should say.
A fear grew in his heart that if he didn’t confess his feelings for Kai soon, then someone else might take him away.
Unless someone has already.
Soobin jolted up from his bed. How long have they been talking? Is Kai interested in him? If he’s talking to someone already, why would he kiss Soobin? He had to know.
Soobin promptly got up from his bed and marched to Kai’s room. He burst in like he owned the place.
Kai, who was focused on his switch, raised an eyebrow. “Uh, hello?”
Soobin’s confidence disappeared as soon as his eyes laid on Kai. Who looked so cute and comfortable that he almost wanted to jump into his arms.
Soobin wasn’t always good with confrontation, and he wished he had at this moment.
"You—can I watch you play Pokemon?” Soobin asked nervously.
“Oh. Sure.”
Soobin awkwardly sat a good two feet away from Kai. Suddenly not knowing where to sit or how to act. He didn’t want to scare him off like he had before.
Kai continued playing on his switch, yet Soobin could tell he was nervous too by the way he kept messing up.
Soobin scooted a bit closer. He had come up with a list of questions to ask him, but his mind went blank, completely forgetting it as soon as he stepped into Kai’s presence.
He cleared his throat, shifting incessantly in his seat. “I wanted to ask you something,” he said in a hesitant tone. He mustered up the courage to take a good look at Kai, who had paused the game to stare at the ground, listening intently.
Soobin thought his side profile was beautiful, and the way his lips protruded made him want to kiss him even more. Kai tightly gripped the controller, his knuckles practically white.
Soobin scooted closer, and this time Kai met his gaze, occasionally flickering his eyes between the floor and Soobin's face.
So cute.
The way the tips of Kai's ears turned red when he was embarrassed or flustered didn't go unnoticed, and Soobin found himself wanting to feel it for himself.
He wanted to feel Kai for himself. He wanted to know what other noises he could make and what spots were the most sensitive. In any way Kai desired, Soobin would make him feel good.
Their kiss couldn’t have meant nothing, right? Was there some kind of meaning behind it? Was it possible that Kai wanted Soobin as much as he wanted him?
Soobin reached over to Kai’s earlobe, rubbing it and feeling the heat on the pad of his fingertips.
He glanced at Kai’s lips, then at his eyes, then at his lips again. Should he?
He didn’t give himself time to debate as they both leaned into an intense kiss. Breaking their tension and picking up where they left off last time.
It wasn’t like their first kiss, where it was slow and sensual, where they were exploring each other for the first time. This kiss was wanted, needed. It was almost as if it were something they had been chasing for an eternity.
They were less careful about crossing boundaries this time around. Kai immediately wrapped his arms around Soobin’s neck, deepening their kiss until their teeth clacked. Soobin set his hands firmly on Kai’s waist.
It was definitely messy. Uncoordinated, but he’d do anything to have the feeling of Kai licking into his mouth. He could taste Kai’s cherry-flavored chapstick, which he loved so much, on his tongue.
Soobin’s heart was beating out of his chest—he was restless. Wanting to feel Kai, he slipped his hand beneath his sweater, stroking the skin on his waist.
Kai’s breath hitched upon contact, and Soobin realized that Kai was quite sensitive in general. He traced his finger down Kai’s spine and licked into the roof of his mouth, earning him a whimper.
Oh.
Kai didn’t pull back this time. He crawled onto Soobin’s lap and pulled him closer, messing up his hair in the process. Sucking on his bottom lip—sending a jolt of pleasure down Soobin’s spine.
Soobin doesn’t ever regret telling Kai he’s pretty. He’s absolutely gorgeous in his eyes—the way his long lashes flutter shut when he’s kissed, the way Kai’s eyebrows furrow when Soobin caresses a sensitive spot on his body, or when he arches his back and moans into Soobin’s mouth. So pretty.
I want him. A thought passed by him.
Kai sneakily slipped his hands underneath Soobin’s shirt. But Soobin guided him down to the bed and changed positions to his preferred position.
As Soobin sucked at a delicate spot behind Kai's ear, he caught an aroma of Kai's sweet body wash. Kai arched his back, and Soobin kissed him all the way down to his collarbone.
He felt hot, so hot up against Kai like this. It made things all the more heated with Kai’s slightly lifted shirt, which exposed his stomach.
“Hyung,” Kai mumbled.
Soobin hummed in response against Kai’s neck, leaving marks all over.
He suddenly felt Kai’s fingers on the waistband of his boxers. Kai gazed at him with half-lidded eyes, as if he were asking for permission.
Soobin had gotten ahead of himself.
“W-wait,” Soobin stammered, pulling back. Catching up with his breath, he gently guided Kai’s hand away from his boxers. “This isn’t what I came here for.”
“What do you mean?” Kai said in shallow breaths.
“I need to know,” Soobin asserted. He didn’t want to go any further without getting answers to his questions. This second kiss might have made things all the more complicated. “Why did you kiss me?”
Kai visibly paused, switching his focus to something else. ”Why…?”
“Aren’t you interested in someone?” Soobin continued, eyebrows furrowed. “Ji-hun…right? I don’t think we should be doing this if that’s the case. It isn’t right.”
“Wait a minute,” Kai said, rising from the bed. “I’m not interested in him, hyung.”
“You aren’t?” Soobin thought for a moment, his mind running to multiple possibilities. “It’s not that asshole, is it? Because I’m telling you right now he is not the greatest choice—”
“You’re an idiot.” Kai pinched Soobin’s lips, shutting him up for good. “It’s not him either. Can we kiss now?”
“No.” Soobin pouted. He pulled Kai by the waist and rested his head on his shoulder, digging his nose into his neck. It’s selfish, but he has to tell him. Even if it’s too late, even if he’s been swept away by another man, he needs to tell him. “Kai-ah…”
“...Yeah?”
“I want this to be permanent."
He pulled back to look at him properly, his heart beating out of his chest. “I don’t want this to be a one time thing or a friends with benefits thing, whatever you wanna call it. I don’t want you to be interested in other people. I want you,” Soobin confessed with longing.
The room felt hot. Soobin could feel the heat from the way he caressed Kai’s cheek, which was flushed red. Kai still seemed to be processing what he just said and depending on the answer, Soobin promised himself he’d put a stop to all of this. He didn’t want to ruin his friendship with Kai, and Soobin didn’t want to hurt himself in the process.
“H-hyung.” Kai’s eyes widened, and then he released a sigh of relief. “I want you too. I think I’ve always wanted you. It wasn’t until I kissed you that I realized how much I wanted you…Oh my god, I thought—I thought you were going to hate me.”
Kai…wants him? Was this real? Soobin replied, “No, I could never hate you—”
“Like, I didn’t mean to do it,” Kai continued. “I just thought about doing it and then ended up doing it anyway, but I didn’t expect we’d make out for as long as we did, and—wow, I was playing with fire.”
A flood of relief and joy washed over him. It was strange, yet exhilarating, to tell Kai the truth. Kai wanted Soobin, and Soobin wanted him. It wasn’t a dream after all.
Soobin laughed. “If you weren’t playing with fire, I wouldn’t have realized that I had feelings for you.”
Kai responded with a beaming smile, his cheekbones being a feature that Soobin absolutely adored. He pulled Soobin in for a tender kiss, tracing his jawline.
He should have done this long ago. Kai, his best friend, his love. He didn’t mind bending the rule for him, he’d do it anytime, in any timeline.
They parted, and Kai beamed at him with the most dazzling smile.
Kai spoke again. “By the way, Ji-hun was the guy who first confessed to me, he came up to me saying he has a boyfriend now, so that’s nice!” Kai continued, “I asked him for advice on handling my feelings for you, which was a huge mess...”
“Oh? How so?”
“Well, I was convinced that you hated me. I didn’t think I’d ever tell you, to be honest. I was ready to take my feelings to the grave,” Kai laughed like it was the most casual thing he’d ever said.
“Mmm,” Soobin murmured, his lips hovering over Kai’s, eager for more. “It’s a good thing my jealous brain brought us here…shall we get back to what we were doing?” Soobin said in a lower tone, stroking Kai’s waist and tracing shapes on the skin of his back.
“Jealous? Yes.” Kai confirmed. “But, are you always this horny?” He giggled with half-lidded eyes, stroking Soobin’s arm.
“Maybe. Only for you, darling.”
Like a magnetic pull, their lips met yet again. Full of lust and quickly deepening—like a fire igniting within him. This felt different now, knowing that he loved Kai and that Kai loved him—kissing with certainty rather than doubt.
Kai sighed into the kiss, his hands finding their way to Soobin’s waist and yanking him by the belt. Soobin’s stomach fluttered from the sudden pull.
“So eager,” Soobin mumbled in between kisses. He peppered his lips along Kai’s sharp jawline. “You’re so beautiful, baby.” A pet name he wanted to try out, and now that things have turned out the way they did, Soobin wouldn’t hold back.
Kai let out a groan in response, resting his head on his shoulder as Soobin traced kisses down his neck.
“Sounds so pretty, love.” Soobin tugged on the bottom of Kai’s hoodie, signaling to take it off. “I couldn’t stop thinking about you.”
Kai swiftly took off his hoodie and threw it to the side, leaving his white tank on. “More,” Kai whispered, intertwining his fingers in Soobin’s hair.
“You’re gorgeous. All for me.” Soobin pushed him back on the bed, sucking on the lobe of his ear. “I can’t let anyone have you.”
Soobin loved this, exploring what made Kai squirm, what made him whimper, what made him react in such a way just for him. He couldn’t wait to see what the future held in store—what kind of things he’d learn about Kai.
Kai was panting into Soobin’s mouth with short breaths. “H-hyung,” Kai stuttered.
Soobin pulled back, then looked down, noticing the growing tent on Kai’s crotch.
Was it the pet names? Soobin always knew Kai loved praise, but he didn’t think it would translate in bed. Interesting discovery.
Soobin placed a gentle hand on the waistband of Kai’s boxers. “Do you want to?” He asked before proceeding further.
“Yes. Please.”
Soobin dipped his hand beneath the waistband of Kai’s boxers, Kai looking at him with pure vulnerability and lust. He’s so happy—so happy that Kai chose him. Before Soobin had the chance to pull his boxers off, he paused. Soobin had come up with the greatest idea.
“Can I suck you off?” Soobin asked as his head fell to the level of Kai’s half-hard bulge, his eyes sparkling at the sight.
"Yeah, but don’t cream your pants now,” Kai joked, though he looked like he was struggling to keep his composure. His hair was a mess, ears and neck flushed red, covered in marks, and his lips bruised from all of the kissing.
“I just might, beautiful. You should see the view from down here.”
Kai’s embarrassment overwhelmed him as he buried his face in his hands.
Cute.
Soobin parted his lips and started by sucking the outline of Kai’s dick through the fabric of his underwear. Kai unintentionally bucked his hips up into his mouth.
“Sorry…” Kai pouted.
“You’re doing good, love. I’ll let you use my mouth soon enough,” Soobin said in a soft-spoken delivery.
His dick twitched at the thought of taking all of Kai in his mouth. Soobin sucked through the fabric until he got to the tip of his cock, giving extra care to that particular spot. His lips were wet and messy, leaving drool in the fabric of his underwear.
Kai groaned. He looked up to see him hiding his face behind his forearm. “Kai-ah,” Soobin murmured into his bulge. This won’t do. “Look at me?”
Kai hesitantly peeked back, giving Soobin his full attention. “I need your attention, love. Tell me if it's good, yeah?”
Soobin delicately placed his fingers at the hem of his boxers and pulled down to reveal Kai’s cock—the exposed air making Kai squirm.
He sucked on his inner thighs and squeezed his other thigh for good measure, causing Kai to hitch and grip the sheets. Noted.
“So pretty,” Soobin muttered as he wrapped his hand at the base of his erect cock. Slackily stroking up and down, he smiled softly at Kai’s gasps. “Watch me, okay?” Soobin said. Kai nodded in response.
Soobin gave it a few lazy pumps before slowly licking up his length. Making sure to check in on Kai, his responsiveness made him all the more gorgeous.
He began slowly, peppering small kisses around his cock, thumbing at the head to test out the waters. Kai let out a particularly loud moan at that.
He trailed open mouth kisses up to the tip of his cock. Licking it a few times, feeling it out, and seeing what kind of reaction Kai had to tasting his precum.
“Fuck,” he heard Kai mutter under his breath.
The pleasure in the pit of Soobin’s stomach rose. Satisfied, he swirled his tongue at the head of his pink cock, making sure to remember the taste of Kai’s precum on his tongue.
He took it to his mouth, the head first, before testing to see how low Soobin could go, using his hand to stroke the lengths he couldn’t reach.
Kai gasped. He wasted no time holding Soobin by the hair, trying his hardest not to thrust up.
It was music to his ears. His dick twitched at Kai's whimpering and pleads. He occasionally gave him a hard suck at the tip of his dick, only to take it all back into his mouth, sinking further and further each time.
The grip on Soobin’s hair tightened, and Kai’s thighs trembled beneath him—encouraging him to bob his head faster.
Soobin wanted to tell Kai how beautiful he sounded with his cock in his mouth. How beautiful he sounded beneath Soobin’s touch.
Soobin could feel his own dick bulging against the fabric of his boxers. He opted to pulling his cock out of his underwear and jerk himself off as he sucked.
His mind raced, there were so many thoughts in his head, yet there were none at all. Soobin looked up to see him absolutely dazed, with eyes half-lidded, cute lips parted, and panting like he was running out of air. All he could think about was how pretty Kai looked, how cute his moans were, and how wrecked he looked, looking down at his hyung sucking on his cock. His hyung who would do anything for him.
Pretty. If there wasn’t a cock in his mouth, he would have told him right then and there.
Kai's whimpers were consistent now, with Soobin's name being blabbered on his lips. The intense, direct eye contact only made Soobin go faster, bobbing his head up and down until he let Kai use him with the grip of his hair.
Watching Kai like this from this angle. It was like a dream.
Soobin let out short, sloppy moans as he let Kai fuck into his mouth at a desperate pace, occasionally hitting the back of his throat.
The joy he felt for Kai to use him like this, how easy Soobin would get on his knees at any moment at any time for Kai. The warm feeling in his stomach rose, and he pumped his own dick faster—getting himself lost in the feeling.
Soobin’s hair was a mess, his face was hot, and saliva was dripping down his chin onto the bed, yet he would do it all over again for Kai.
“H-hyung. I’m—I’m gonna—”
Kai arched his back as he came undone into Soobin’s mouth. Mouth full of cum as Soobin reached his own orgasm.
He shut his mouth, not wanting to get it on the bed, but failed miserably as it dripped down his chin.
Kai reclined lazily on the bed, chest rising and falling in sync with the rhythm of his breath. Until he jolted up, scrambling for some towels that were thrown in the corner of the room.
“I’m so sorry!” Kai apologized.
Soobin nodded, his mouth still full of cum.
“I-I tried to warn you, but it was too late…” Kai pouted.
Soobin wiped the cum from his mouth and the mess that was made in Kai’s bed. “It’s okay, love.” Soobin smiled, giving him a peck on the lips. “Was I good?”
“Of course…” Kai said. His shoulders dropped. “Sorry again, for, you know, coming in your mouth. I feel bad. If I had known we’d make a mess, I would have placed a towel.”
Soobin laughed. He would let Kai come in his mouth any day, but he decided not to voice that out loud. “Let’s just sleep in my room tonight, okay?”
“Okay, but no funny business,” Kai scolded. “Or else we’d have nowhere to sleep!”
“I’m not picky about where I sleep,” Soobin grinned. “As long as it’s with you~” With those words, he drew Kai into a warm embrace, placing a tender kiss on his temple.
“Wah, even as my boyfriend, you’re still an idiot.”
Boyfriend. Soobin loved the sound of that; it made his heart flutter.
The multiple buzzes of Kai's phone caught their attention.
Kai extended his arm to retrieve his phone. Upon reading his text messages, he uttered, "Oh god."
“Who is it?”
Kai showed Soobin the messages he received from Taehyun.
