Ode to the bouncer

Summary:

You're trying to get into a club your friends have been raving to you about, but a bratty bouncer steps in your way.

Work Text:

The sound of boots on concrete echoed through the air as you made your way towards the sounds of blasting music and giggling drunk people. You were looking for a fun solo night out, recent breakup and the busyness of work for some of your friends causing you to decide on venturing the recently opened club on your own.

A place your best friend has been raving about, describing the flashing dancefloor and clean exterior to really drive the point home and convince you to go, "have fun, let loose, you need it after this year" she said, soothing your hesitance in going to new places alone "and the bartenders are hot".

She wasn't wrong, despite the building being stationed on what your group would label the 'bad' side of the city, it looked straight out of a hollywood movie, complete with a bouncer letting people in from a velvet rope.

You move to the back of the line, nosy ass eavesdropping on a pair of men gossiping about workplace drama and whatnot, apparently people who work in offices see labeling your food as a challenge and not a warning. You get up to the front quickly, people piling behind you.

You walk towards the rope and are immediately stopped by a strong arm, the broad figure of the bouncer moving in your path and blocking your way into the club, staring down at you through his balaclava with his arms crossed. You're baffled "uhm??"

He makes a motion with his fingers, waving them to the side. You stare up at him in confusion, feeling like an idiot just standing there. "Move to the side love" His deep voice snapped you out of whatever trance you were in, bringing you back to the reality that you were being stopped at the door and told to move to the side. Rejection stings.

Once you move away from the door his attention is fully on you, paying little attention to the little minx slipping past the rope. "What's a thing like you doin' 'ere?" He questioned, eyes narrowed at you. A THING, did he just call you a thing? What does he mean, why are you here? "To have fun and drink obviously, why? My joy takin you out?" You grumbled back.

"Where's your friends?" "Inside"
"Boyfriend?" You stared at him
"Girlfriend?" "No"
"You on anything love?" You raised your brows “What! No! Im not on dope!"

You're starting to get really pissed off, a thousand thoughts about how you could successfully get away with murdering this giant of a man without the police knocking on your door. You must’ve had a vein bulging the way he chuckled at you.

"Its freezin" You pleaded, "Is it?"
"It's my birthday tonight ya'know" You lied, "Really? How old are you babe?"

It's all futile, this meathead isn't falling for any of it, and he still won't tell you why he won't allow you inside. You were running out of ideas. Was the club even worth this humiliation?

You watch bouncer man, finally doing his job, lift up the rope and let a stumbling, very clearly high woman inside, her sultry voice thanking him before pushing her slipping dress up, she had to have been wearing less clothes than you. Well if dress code isn't the problem then what is? Your skin tone? Your body type? Don't tell me this guy only lets people he finds attractive in, isn't that bad for business at least?

"Browsing are we?" You accused, nose flaring in anger. "Wha’ was that sweet thi-" He didn't get to finish the sentence.

"You're worried bout me smoking crack? That bitch was clearly high". Amusement filled his eyes "was she?"
"We can see her panties up her ass, you only let girls you can sexualize in? Hm?" You pressed, crossed arms pushing against his chest.
"Love...what?" He said exasperated, as if you were the one who pulled him aside and started harassing him over bullshit.

Suddenly shouting is heard from inside the building and the sounds of a body being slammed into something could be made out, glass breaking and the hollering of some idiots. "Bloody hell"

Skullface locked up the rope and told everyone to stay outside, turning back to you. "And you. Stay", Then he left, presumably to handle whatever bear fight was taking place in the club.

"Stay" You mocked in a overplayed manchester accent " tsk Like im a fuckin dog!”

If you did everything someone told you to do you wouldn't be so hot and sexy now would you? You don't listen, you're stubborn and hardheaded and you defy anything that gets in the way of freedom and fun.

You watched the line to be sure no one was paying attention to you slipping away, many just waiting around for the bouncer to come back so they could get in, others minding their own business and chatting.

The back alleyway was dark and weirdly moist, the air was alcoholic and stuffy, typical behind a club you presume. You were met with a chain link fence that stopped you from traveling any further, cursing under your breath, forced to think. You snooped around until you came across a high up window, ajar to let air out, a restroom? Jackpot.

It was difficult, you weren't one for upper body strength and it was a tight squeeze, almost slipping back to the alley floor a few times before you got a grip, and you were in the ladies bathroom, a few girls walking past you in judgemental confusion, but other than that, no mishaps.

Your head peaked out from behind the wall and scanned the dark club, checking for the fight or the skullfaced bully before you decide to relax. Once you deemed the coast clear, you bee-lined towards the bar to get something to drink, "let's see here"

A shadow fell over what little light you had in this place, the uncomfortable feeling of being watched before jolting at a voice intimately close to your ear. "I thought i had told you to stay where you were"

"Oh fuck, ow!" The force in which you were pulled up out of your seat felt like it could've broken your arm, "what the hell!"

He pulled you on your feet and dragged you by the bicep towards the back of the club, ignoring your cussing and pretty pathetic attempts at attack and self defense. You exit the club from the back employee only entrance, air escapes your lungs in a gasp at the sudden pinning to the grimy wall, face so close to each other you could smell the mint on his breath, "brat"

You breathe in each other's air, a moment of pause for both of you to get your bearings and think about the situation, at least you were thinking about the situation, the position he put you in becoming more obvious from the rough rub of his hips and the fingers digging into your side.

Oh?...oh. Now you're getting the picture, puffing your chest against his in newfound confidence, noses almost touching in a silent taunt. "Aint you supposed to be guarding the door? Dog", to your surprise, he actually growls at you, strong hands coming to softly wrap around your neck, keeping you in place.

You blinked, "What's your name?"

"Ghost"

"Ghost" You snorted, air blowing in his face, blonde eyelashes fluttering in unamusement, "since you're obviously not doin your job" Your hand reached out to lift his chin up, staring at him through the mask, "why dont you just go home to your ugly wife now, ya?" Just a taunt, on your soul, you love women.

He pulled his mask up to reveal a scarred mouth before your lips were mashed together, his tongue intruding, grumbling against your lips "chatty cat", leaving the night soon to end with only the music to cover up your moans.
