Chapter Text
Years ago the kingdom was attacked by a giant, foul beast. Its claws crushed entire houses and its fire breath could burn through any shield.
It took a long, arduous battle to defeat it and the kingdom was overcome with grief when its dear prince fell in battle. He had lost his arm and deep burns ate away at his skin, and all the healers in the castle could only slow down the inevitable.
The only one who offered a way to heal Prince Genos was the mysterious court sorcerer. Nobody knew what he was capable of, and he was commonly known as a charlatan, simply using the Queen’s grace to steal from the royal library. He requested various expensive materials and to be left alone with the young blonde.
It took several days, but once the door to that castle wing was open they found the prince peacefully sleeping. His body was covered in scars, and his missing arm was replaced with a beautiful porcelain artifact.
The Queen looked everywhere for the curious figure but the sorcerer could not be found anywhere. The entire kingdom celebrated the recovery of their prince for an entire week.
Genos did not have any information to assist in searching for the sorcerer, as he could not remember much from the days he was locked with the other man. He was always either unconscious or feverish, and his only memories were of warm hands soothing his wounds and a gentle voice humming to ease his pain.
As time passed he treasure those faint memories more and more. His well crafted porcelain arm was like nothing anyone had ever seen, and he spent hours gazing at its intricate designs and wondering what kind of person could be so kind.
On his 20th birthday he decided to wonder no more. There were news of a powerful spell caster roaming the northern woods. In the dead of the night he left, determined to give his heart to his anonymous savior.
