Work Text:

“Umm…”

“Shh, be quiet for a second,”

Sirius tilted her head to the side, who was this girl that was ordering her around.

“What are we hiding from?” Sirius whispered, leaning into her.

She could feel the girl shiver against her at the sudden closeness.

“Just be patient, they’re almost gone,” they sputtered, trying to create distance between the two but it seemed a pointless endeavor as they gave up seconds later.

In an attempt to push Sirius back, their hands found what they must’ve thought were her shoulders and gave them a weak shove.

The girl, realizing where she had just grabbed on to looked towards Sirius, their face painted with pure fear.

“Wha- oh god I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to-” The girl fell out of the small alcove and rushed to the stairway railing.

Finally out of the dark space, Sirius got the first good look at her captor, safe to say, she was star struck.

The girl was beautiful, she had short, light brown hair that rested perfectly in a wolf cut of sorts. Her body was that of a model, she was a few inches taller than Sirius. Her lean body was lined with a godsent pair of jeans that seemed to catch every breathtaking curve. She was wearing a fall colored sweater that draped down her front beautifully, while there wasn’t much to be seen, there was enough to drive Sirius crazy; and is that? Oh my god, a bra strap at the neckline? Merlin, was this witch out to kill her with her own imagination. Her eyes, oh her eyes. The deep hazel that seemed to reflect back every emotion Sirius was protruding, they were scanning her, analyzing her, and it never felt so good to be watched. Finally the scars, the beautiful scars that draped around her face and neck. Every scratch, every cut, all the new, all the old, Sirius wanted nothing more than to take this girl and kiss and touch along every single one.

By the time Sirius finally came to her senses again, the girl in front of her began to fidget and squirm under her gaze.

“You know,” said Sirius, slowly walking over to the girl, an insatiable hunger pooling up at her stomach, “If you wanted to touch me that badly all you needed to do was ask.”

She continued to slowly stalk over, hiking up her skirt a few inches to show off some pale thigh and popping a button off her shirt that was now flaunting a dangerously low neckline.

When Sirius finally reached the girl, it seemed too much to her as she picked herself up off the railing and dashed up the stairs towards the… seventh floor? What was on the seventh floor?

Sirius, now both intrigued AND horney, decided to follow the girl. She must have paced around the seventh floor for at least an hour, but there was no trace of her.

Dejected, she decided to return to her dorm, maybe she would be able to find the girl on the map.

-

She barreled through the common room, finally coming to a stop when she landed in James’s lap.

“Jamie, I’ve found the one, I think I’m in love,” she said, stretching out on top of the boy.

James grunted at the sudden weight, “Hey Siri, what poor sap is it this week?” he asked.

“She’s gorgeous Prongs, absolutely stunning,” she cooed. “Oh yeah gimme the map, I wanna check something?”

James raised an eyebrow, finally turning his focus away from his homework, “The map? Damn, you’re already stalking her?”

A familiar hand appears at the side of James’s head and gives him a small whack. “Give her a break, I think it’s cute,” said Lily from behind the pair.

“Thank you Lils, at least someone gets it,” Sirius huffs, rolling side to side.

“Fine, it’s in my bedside, go get this woman of your dreams,” James said, rolling his eyes and pushing Sirius off him.

Not ten seconds later, Sirius was up in James’s dorm, pulling out the map and chanting the password.

Her eyes scanned the map over and over but there was no one on the seventh floor. After a minute of confusion she was ready to give up but suddenly a name appeared out of seemingly nowhere.

“Rema Lupin,” she muttered to herself. A wide grin spread on to her face as she dashed out of the common room and up the stairs.

When she found herself on the right floor, she checked the map again to see that the girl was headed right towards her.

She dashed behind a nearby corner and waited for the girl to walk past before tugging them both into an abandoned classroom.

“Hey there princess,” she said, wandlessly lighting the fireplace inside the room. “So you pull me behind the tapestry and then run away when I try to talk to you, that's no way to treat a lady like myself.”

The girl still seemed shocked, she just stood in front of the door, facing Sirius with an incredibly confused expression.

When the events of the moment finally caught up with her, a deep red blush appeared on her cheeks. “I’m sorry,” she said, breaking eye contact and kicking at some dust on the floor, “I was trying to get away from someone and you were just there and-”

Sirius walked over and put a finger over the girl’s lips, silencing her and causing the blush to deepen ever further.

“It’s fine princess, I’m just poking fun. Now, what's your name and why have I not seen you around here before?” Sirius jumped up and sat down on a nearby table.

“I’m Rema, Rema Lupin, I only transferred here yesterday, I had a private sorting.”

“Sirius Black,” she said, watching her legs swing side to side underneath her, “Transfer mid year huh, what were you doing before that?”

She saw the girl stiffen at the question as she began to stutter out half answers.

“It’s fine if you don’t answer, I didn't mean to pry,” she said, hoping to relieve the sudden tension in the room.

She watched as the girl visibly deflated, “No it’s okay, um, I just wasn’t super…accepted where I lived, so this is where my family said it would be safest.”

Seeing how much this was hurting Rema to talk about, Sirius slipped off the table and walked over to the girl, pulling her into a tight hug.

“Hey, seriously,” she was speaking into the girl’s neck, “It’s obviously hurting you to talk about.”

Rema went silent and softened into the touch, being taller than Sirius, her face ended buried in the Gryffindor’s hair.

After a few minutes of silence, Rema finally pulled back, wiping a stray tear from her eye. Sirius grabbed the girls hands and led them both over to a loveseat at the back of the room. She sat the girl down and called for a house elf to bring them tea.

Once the elf reappeared with their tea, Sirius could see the girl watching her with a strange look.

“I didn’t know Hogwarts had house elves,” she said, shifting uncomfortably in her seat.

“They work in the kitchen,” Sirius replied, but the girl’s skeptical expression did not falter. “It’s okay, they are treated well and love their jobs, I can bring you there later if it will make you feel better.”

Rema nodded and Sirius went over to the newly delivered tray, “How do you take your tea?” she asked.

“Milk and three sugars please,” Rema replied, relaxing on the couch.

Once Sirius poured the tea, she handed it off to Rema before pouring her own with an amount of sugar that would make Walburga Black faint. Once she took a sip and determined it was perfect, she slipped off her shoes and sat on the loveseat, back to the arm of the seat and knees against her chest.

“So what house are you in?” she asked, breaking the silence.

“Ravenclaw, I’m a fifth year,” Rema replied, letting Sirius stretch out her legs across her own.

“Oh same year as me!” Sirius exclaimed, “Do you have any classes with Gryffindor?”

“Yes, charms, transfiguration and care of magical creatures I think.” Rema replied, setting her arms over Sirius’s legs.

Sirius smirked, “So I’ll be seeing much more of you?” she said placing her tea down and scooching close to Rema.

“Mhm,” Rema said into her cup, the most beautiful blush Sirius had ever seen spreading across her face.

“What’s up princess?” Sirius asked, practically in Rema’s lap at this point, “Dog got your tongue?”

Rema frowned and poked Sirius’s forehead, “I’m pretty sure it's cat got your tongue… dummy,” she muttered the last word as she took another sip of tea, distracting herself from the girl sitting on her lap.

“Nope! Dog!” Sirius giggled, leaned back into Rema’s chest, a motion that felt all too natural for it being the first time.

After a few seconds, Rema set her tea down and groaned into Sirius’s shoulder, “Christ Black you’re killing me here.”

“That’s the plan,” Sirius giggled, giving the girl a small boop on the nose.

Conversation lasted for hours, in an attempt to not ruin the moment neither made any comments on Sirius’s position on top of Rema or the small squeaks the girl made when Sirius readjusted.

Both were so focused on the other that neither heard the insistent calls for Sirius get louder and louder.

A minute or so later, in the middle of a particularly intense argument, the door to the classroom banged open to reveal an extremely annoyed James Potter.

James, not batting an eye at the scene in front of him, stalked into the room, setting his eyes on Rema first. “James Potter, pleasure,” he said before turning to Sirius, “I’ve been looking for you for like thirty minutes, it's time for dinner.”

Sirius jumped up almost immediately and looked back towards Rema, “Oh god how long have we been in here?” Rema cast a quick Tempus to reveal it was almost seven pm.

“Crap, I’m sorry Prongs I lost track of time,” Sirius dashed out of the room immediately, James in tow.

Just as she was rounding the corner, she realized that leaving Rema like that was quite the dick move. “Go ahead, I'll be there in a minute!” she yelled to James as she ran back towards the room.

Entering the room again, she saw Rema laying down on the loveseat with an open book in her hands. Hearing someone enter, she looked up and displayed a small smile at Sirius’s arrival.

Sirius dashed over and gave Rema a quick peck on the nose, much to the girl's surprise. “I’ll see you later princess,” she said with a wink, and ran out of the room leaving behind an incredibly flustered Rema Lupin.

“So,” James started as they sat down in the Great Hall, “Who’s the girl?”

Sirius grinned as she filled up her plate, “Her name’s Rema, she just transferred, Ravenclaw.”

James raised an eyebrow and grabbed Sirius’s head, turning it from side to side. “Jesus Christ you were in there for hours and you didn’t even snog her? You might really be in love,” he said before turning back to his dinner.

Sirius in her lovesick ways spent the rest of dinner fawning over this girl, recalling all her favorite parts of their interaction, much to the annoyance of James.

Close to the end, James let out a big sigh, “Siri if you are so deeply in love with this woman why don’t you just ask her out?”

Sirius smirked, “I plan on wooing her until she can’t resist my charm anymore and asks me herself.”

James shook his head, “And if someone else gets to her first?”

Sirius growled at the thought, “She can do what she wants, it's not like she’s my property.”

“Sure buddy,” James said, popping a strawberry in his mouth and walking towards the doors.

“I’m serious!” she yelled back at him, trying to catch up.

“I know you are!” he replied, dashing back towards the common room.

The next few days passed without much interaction between Sirius and Rema, much to the formers' disappointment. Neither seemed to want to break first, but eventually Sirius had enough.

It was a chilly spring evening when Sirius found Rema just outside the courtyard. She ran over to the girl and tugged on her wrist, “Hey princess, want to have a picnic?”

Rema seemed shocked for a second but nodded and let Sirius lead them back into the castle.

“Let's stop by the kitchens and grab some food!” Sirius said as she threaded her fingers through Rema’s. Not feeling any resistance from the girl, Sirius walked through the dungeons with an impossibly large smile.

The pair popped into the kitchens and left with a small basket full of sandwiches, fruits, juice and pie. They settled on a spot just out of the view of the castle, close enough to the whomping willow that they didn’t need to be worried about being caught.

Conversation was initially awarded but eventually settled into small debates over every little thing.

Sirius was laid down against the grass, twirling a stray thread on Rema’s sweater from where she was sitting right next to her.

A stray breeze shot a shiver down Sirius’s spine, she had gotten so wrapped up with getting Rema she had forgotten it was still quite cold outside.

Rema must’ve felt the movement because she flipped her legs to be on either side of Sirius and pulled her into her chest, wrapping her sweater covered arms around the girl. Sirius purred and flipped to the side, squishing into Rema, if it wasn’t so warm she might have felt a bit more embarrassed of where her face was currently stationed but the feeling was heavenly so she paid it no mind.

After a few minutes of calming silence, Sirius watched the sun dip behind the mountains and could feel herself falling asleep in Rema’s arms. She knew it would be a bad idea to fall asleep outside, but there was no way she was going to let the night end so soon.

Finally mustering up enough of her Gryffindor courage she turned over so her face was looking right as Rema. “Hey Rema,” she mumbled, reaching her arms behind the other girl's head and running her hands through the soft hair.
“Hmm?” Rema looked down towards Sirius, leaving no more than an inch between their faces. Continuing to stroke the girl's hair she moved forward to where their foreheads pressed together, “You’re gorgeous.”

The smile that was growing on Rema’s face quickly went out of view as Sirius leaned forward and connected their lips.

Sirius has kissed many people over the last few years, mostly boys and some girls but it never felt right. Right now, in this moment, the girl in front of her was a dream and her lips were perfect.

She felt Rema stiffen for a second, and waited for the inevitable loss of warmth, but it never came. As both got more comfortable, the kiss became more and more intense. Sirius let her tongue glide along Rema’s bottom lip and when the other girl invited the action, she was all in.

Their tongues clashed but Sirius was quick to establish dominance. Giving Rema’s hair a slight tug opened her up even further, allowing Sirius free reign to the girl’s neck. She went slowly but efficiently, kissing, sucking, and biting her way through any unmarked skin all the way down to her collarbone.

Not wanting to part just yet, Sirius tried to slide her knees underneath herself in an attempt to get a better angle, but instead she slipped them a bit far forward and directly in between Rema’s legs. The girl moaned on Sirius’s lips, pulling her impossibly closer while Sirius tried to keep her legs together in hopes that the pressure would sooth the sudden heat building in her stomach.

Rema laid back and pulled Sirius along, forcing Sirius to drive her knee hard against the girl’s core. Sirius slipped a hand below Rema’s sweater and was instantly met with warm, bumpy skin that was riddled with the same beautiful scars the girl displayed on her face.

Rema shuttered under the touch and slightly arched into Sirius’s cold hand. Just as Sirius was about to trail it up even further, a cold breeze brought both back into the moment.

Their lips finally split and Sirius removed her hand from Rema’s shirt only to be met with a groan of disappointment from the girl. Sirius sprawled out on top of Rema, burying her face in the Ravenclaw’s neck and letting out a small laugh.

“We should probably go back inside for today, don’t wanna catch a cold,” Sirius said, knowing full well she would rather stay there, curled up with Rema.

Rema hummed a response and pulled both of them to their feet, keeping a hand over Sirius’s back to aid her as she stumbled slightly at the sudden movement.

Sirius quickly shrunk the food basket and blanket they transfigured and turned to go back towards the castle but was met with a sudden darkness that quickly turned into Rema’s smiling face.

She stilled for a moment but quickly recovered seeing that Rema’s sweater had been pulled over her head. It was definitely too big for her but the added length seemed to just increase the warmth.

“Won't you be co-?” her concern was cut short when she caught sight of the other girl’s outfit. Rema was standing there, a scrappy pair of jeans covering her long legs and a form fitting tee shirt hugging her very, very, very salivating form. Much to her delight and disappointment, her scar theory had been correct. Rema’s arms were riddled with beautiful scars, the healed bumps along with the girl's freckles made for an indescribable mosaic of seduction. As Sirius’s eyes scanned lower, her smile faltered when she caught sight of some very fresh looking scars around the girl’s forearms that seemed too straight and clean to have been done by whatever caused the rest.

Noticing the change in expression, Rema’s eyes followed Sirius’s until she realized what Sirius was staring at. Almost instantly Rema pulled her arms around her stomach in what seemed like an attempt to hide the scars. She turned and dashed off towards the castle, forearms now covered by her hands. Sirius called after her but once it was obvious Rema had no intentions of stopping so she quickly followed.

Sirius ran up beside the girl and caught her by one of her wrists, she twirled the girl around to face her and started directly into her hazel eyes. Slowly, she pulled the girl’s forearm to her mouth and gave it a light kiss, muttering a small, "gorgeous," on the skin.

Sirius let Rema’s hand slip from her own and as she turned to walk back, the Gryffindor pulled the sweater off and popped it back over Rema’s head.

When she realized what happened, Rema let a small smile paint her face and continued to walk back, only pausing when she saw Sirius’s outstretched hand.

Much to Sirius’s delight, Rema took her offer and the pair walked hand in hand back towards the castle.

A few weeks passed and Sirius was struggling to hold back.

After the first time she had accidentally showed her arms to Sirius, Rema didn’t seem to have any intention of letting Sirius see anything past her neckline. Now Sirius wasn’t that much of a dick, of course Rema had no obligation to open up but after a while it seems like that’s a natural step in a relationship. And that was another problem, could you call what they had a relationship?

They hadn’t really gone on a date since the picnic, the most time they would spend together outside of classes was a quick snog once and a while. They wouldn’t even talk, every time was an opportunity to catch the other off guard and spend a bit of time behind a stray portrait or tapestry.

The other reason Sirius was struggling was because she had a sneaking suspicion Rema was as werewolf. It had all been speculation at first, she had spent a bit of time around Fenrir before she ran away and had noticed similar mannerisms. Both seemed to prefer meat as red as possible, their scars were much too similar and they both seemed to have insanely good hearing. The thing that set it in stone for Sirius though was the night before the full moon when she had pulled Rema behind a portrait.

At the first touch, she could tell Rema was weak, the girl did not move much under her touch and sort of slumped against the rough stone. After a quick welcoming kiss, Sirius took a deep breath to prepare her for the bomb she was about to drop.

“Rema,” she started but choked in her words for a second when the girl cocked an eyebrow. Neither of the girls talked during these moments, with the severe lack of time, both found better things to occupy their time, so Sirius talking out of nowhere was certainly cause for concern.

“Um.. are you a werewolf?” Sirius cringed at the wording but thought it was best to be blunt.

Rema instantly paled and roughly grabbed Sirius, pushing her against the wall. “How?” she growled into Sirius’s ear, if it weren’t for the searing pain pulsing through her head as it slammed against the rock, Sirius might have found the action hot, but this was not the time.

“Fenrir, you guys are similar,” she coughed out, trying to find her footing. Rema pushed harder, “So you think I’m a death eater hmm? You saw my arms, you know I’m clean, but I must be because I’m a dark creature right? I just kill anything that moves, is that it?”

“N- no, I hate Fenrir, you guys just have similar… attributes,” Sirius could feel her vision paling and her body go limp but was suddenly very aware of the pain in her head as Rema let up slightly.

“What do you mean,” she asked with much less anger than before. Sirius could see the hesitation and took it, “You guys both like meat more raw and your hearing is insanely good, it’s like you know every time I try to sneak up on you.”

Rema finally let go completely and Sirius crumpled to the floor. “Oh shit Sirius, oh I’m so sorry I didn’t mean-” Rema’s desperation cut out as Sirius felt her consciousness snap.

-

Slowly blinking, Sirius flinched as bright light bled through her sleep crusted eyes. Giving them a good rub, she was quickly aware of the searing pain in the back of her head, it seems Rema had banged her up pretty well. She didn’t blame the girl, it was apparent that her secret was not widely known, and whatever her relationship was with Fenrir was not a good one.

Rema, it was a full moon last night, she might be hurt. Just as Sirius was about to get out of bed to go search, Madam Pomfrey was at her side, helping her sit up. “How are you feeling dear?” she asked, pour the contents of a small vial into a cup filled with water. “Like crap,” Sirius muttered, taking the offered drink.

“Language Ms.Black,” she retorted, “You have a concussion, go back to sleep and you should be fine once you wake.”

Sirius could feel her eyelids become heavy, “R- Rema,” she muttered. Pomfrey’s face softened as she laid Sirius back down, “She’s right next to you dear, she’s fine, just a few scratches.”

Once the Medi-witch left, Sirius got out of bed and walked over to Rema. The girl was sleeping peacefully and much to Sirius’s relief, there were a few new scratches on her neck but nothing too major.

Feeling the sleep coming on, she transformed into Snuffles and curled up into Rema’s side.

-

The next time Sirius woke up it was too the feel of a hand stroking down her back. She quickly remembered her position and appearance and worried for a second that Rema didn’t know it was her. Seemingly sensing her discomfort, she felt Rema bend over and whisper in her ear, “I know it’s you, same smell,” she said before going back to petting.

Sirius transformed back and let out a sigh of relief. “How are you feeling?” she asked the werewolf.

“Tired,” Rema replied, “I’m so sorry-” Her apology was cut short by Sirius' lips on her own, it was a short kiss but the message got across. Sirius rested he forehead on the girl’s chest, “It’s okay, really, I’m okay, and I’m sorry too for bringing it up,”

Rema shook her head, “I’m glad you did, I was so worried, It’s just… Fenrir, he,”

“Bit you,” Sirius finished, and Rema nodded in confirmation. Maybe it was the meds still in her system or maybe it was sheer dumb courage, but Sirius decided their little dance of the last few weeks was over. She inched herself up and straddled Rema, taking the girl’s face in her hands. “You. Are. Gorgeous. Rema,” she said, giving the girl a small kiss in between every word. “Your face, your hair, your body, your scars, and even your furry little problem, you are the most beautiful person I have ever laid my eyes on.”

Tears began to form in Rema’s eyes and Sirius let her thumb brush over them. “It doesn’t matter to me how dark your past is, hell I ran away this winter because my family was abusive as fuck. I like you Rema, I like you a lot, and some stupid little thing like that isn’t gonna keep me away.”

At this point both girls had tears streaming down their faces, it was a strange mixture of laughter and happy tears, and it quickly turned into desperation. Both girls moved at the same time and they met in the middle as their lips crashed together. Their mouths were dancing, intertwined with one another, teeth dug into skin and tongues brushed over every available inch. Compliments and words were attempted but were drowned out by the intense need for each other that both so desperately fed.

It was cut all too short when a loud cough caused them to split apart at the speed of light. Madam Pomfey walked over to the bed and shooed Sirius off of Rema, “Glad to see you’re feeling better Ms.Black but I must look over Ms.Lupin before she participates in such… physical activities.”

Both the girls blushed a deep crimson but Pomfrey ignored it and cast a few diagnostic spells over Rema. “You’re good to go Ms.Lupin, if you are feeling better?” Rema nodded and grabbed Sirius’s hand, pulling them both out to the hall and behind the nearest tapestry. “This feels familiar,” Sirius joked before both girls collapsed in a fit of giggles.

When they finished their episode, the girls found themselves sitting against the wall, Sirius’s head resting on Rema's shoulder. “I meant everything I said in there you know,” Sirius said, “And, if you want, would you- would you want to be my girlfriend?”

Rema just stared at Sirius for a long second before pulling her in for a searing kiss. “Of course you dummy,” she said giggling as she pulled back slightly. “Really?” Sirius asked, a large grin on her face.

Rema nodded and connected their lips again, this kiss was more calm than others they had shared, it carried with it a deeper meaning than both of the girls realized at that time, a promise.

In their future there would be heartbreak, both were dropped into a world tainted by war and they would soon reap the benefits. But in this moment, at this castle, under this tapestry, was light, a shining ray of hope that carried with it promises of a brighter future for all.

Notes:

This will be a one shot for now but I do have some ideas for some special little side chapters that I can write if people like this.
Let me know what you think!
