Work Text:
Montague was stationed on his bed, comfy cozy in his husband’s arms. Biting his lip to supress a whine, he squirmed uncomfortably. He always had cramps, but they were especially bad this time, the discomfort unbearable and making him sick, crashing in waves through his body. Midas noticed his restlessness quickly, running his fingers through Montague’s hair.
“Are you alright?” His brow furrowed, concerned.
“… Cramping…”
“..Mm..” Midas’s face softened, looking down at his lover with sympathy. “Do you some medicine?”
“.. .Y-yeah…”
Midas was always prepared. He reached into the nightstand, quickly pulling out ibuprofen and Tylenol. Tilting Montague’s chin up, he placed the pills on his tongue, pressing the tip of his water bottle to his lips.
“Swallow.”
He did as told, Midas smiling softly, stroking Monty’s chin with his thumb.
“Good. We’ll wait for the medicine to kick in, you’ll feel better, I promise. Do you want me to get you anything?”
“… Stay…”
He nodded gently, pulling Montague closer. Golden hands fell to Montague’s waist, massaging his hips and caressing his tummy. Midas pitied his poor husband, spoiling him every cycle with no hesitation. Montague rolled his shoulders and pressed his face into his lover tensely as the pain throbbed again. Midas mumbled soft words into Montague’s head, sliding his hands up and down Montague’s sides.
“Shh… you’re okay, baby… it’ll pass… deep breaths…”
The medicine worked its magic quickly, Midas humming slowly, wiping the occasional tear. Montague felt better, sitting up a little only to flop back down and rest his head on his husband’s shoulder. Midas giggled, rubbing his back.
“Do you want a movie? I can grab you something to eat as well…”
The two cuddled up again, the Sonic movie playing on their TV for the 800th time, Montague going to town on a bag of chips before the movie could even start, Midas’s hand wrapped around his side gently tracing circles into Montague’s skin. He purred in response, falling asleep within the first half hour.
