Chapter Text
There's been kidnappings around the block, so Player's parents are very cautious about sending him to school.
"Mom, I swear it'll be fine if I walk home!" He argues
"Mr. Bouchard! Do not speak to me like that!" His mom's voice raised.
"Fine!" Player puts his bag on and waits for his mom at the entrance of their home. "Can you hurry up? I don't wanna be late on my first day." His mom stays silent. Soon, they leave the house. The car ride to school was eerily quiet, and even though Player didn't like it, he had to endure the awkwardness. After about 10 minutes of just pure awkwardness, they reach his school. The place was big, definitely bigger than the HQ. "Bye, mom." Player says and slams his door shut. He goes to the gate and pushes it, it opens with a loud screech that annoys him. As he walks into the school grounds, a middle aged man walks to him with two kids behind him
"Ah, you must be Mr. Bouchard! Welcome to Meadows high, these are two students who will give you a tour of the place" The old man walks away and lets the students talk to him. There was only 2 of them, the one on the right was a boy, he had black and slightly curly hair, he looked very serious and cold, the one to the left was a girl, she had dyed hair with a small strip of her hair being blue, she looked kind of emo.
"Bouchard, correct?" The boy says with a stern tone
"um, yes" Player was starting to get intimidated by the boy before the girl started to speak up.
"Come with us, we'll get your ID printed and ready to go" The girl says with a calmer tone.
"ID?" Player asked with a slight head tilt
"Yes, you use an ID to get lunch, get into the school dances and buy snacks at the corner store" The two older kids started to walk into the school. Player follows along quietly.
"This is your advisory. You will head here every morning before classes." The boy explain and Player nods
"Yeah, got it."
The tour lasted longer than Player expected, but he didn't mind. His phone vibrates in his pocket, he takes it out and sees its a message from Carmen. The message states:
"Hey Player! How's your first day of school going?" Player thinks of something to reply with, something that wasn't dry.
"It's going fine, why?"
"No reason, just wanted to check up on you. Have a good day at school!"
"I will." Player turns his phone off before heading off to 4th period, a pit starting to form in the bottom of his stomach. He soon gets to the room and enters the room. Everyone in the room immediately stare at him, wondering who he is. The teacher sees and greets him
"Hello, you must be... Player? Correct?" The teacher seemed skeptical about his name, but didn't ask about it. "You can sit down beside Melanie, the one in the middle table!" He nods and sets off to find his table. The class is a loud and annoying type of class, something he doesn't get used to quickly. He soon finds his table and sits down. Melanie is eyeing him up and down, as if she was sizing him up.
"You the new kid everyone's been talking about?" Player nods and Melanie looks him up and down again. "How old are you?"
"15, why?"
"You just look... short. Especially for a 15 year old."
"Yeah, I get that a lot."
