Work Text:

Her heart was so heavy in her chest. Her hands soaked in gold. She breathed heavy, the height of her child in her arms.

It was too much.

"Parker?" She asked. "Please, open your eyes.." She pleaded. "Please, Parker..?" She begged.

She began to sob, those ichor tears falling onto the child she'd rasied from mothhood.

That childs core was dimmed, a nasty shade of blackish brown where once used to be a golden, warm light.

She was gone.

Moe looked up, her sadness, now replaced with pure anger.

She barred her teeth, golden eyes fixed on the one who'd done this.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?" It wasn't a question.

"What I had to." The answer was small, meek.

Moe saw red as she huffed the air out of her lungs, almost laughter.

"YOU KILLED HER!" She yelled, clutching Parkers body closer, the ichor turning a disgusting brown in colour as her light faded out.

Her limp body a whisper of who once was.

"I HAD TO!" Feng yelled back, tightening the grip they had on their shattered katana. "YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND THOUGH, WOULD YOU!?"

They breathed heavy.

"JUST BECAUSE IT'S YOUR 'CHILD' YOU'D TURN A BLIND EYE TO THE FACT THAT IT WAS A MONSTER!?" They screamed. The brownish blood drying on their clothes and hands and face.

Moe set Parker down gently, putting her cape under her head. The once pristine white now an ugly, stained brownish-red.

She brushed Parker's lose strands of hair out of her pale and lifeless face before she stood to face Feng Xiaotian.

"A monster..?" She looked as if she couldn't decide between rage or pure disgust at the person infront of her.

"If any of us here is a monster.." She brust into a sprint twoard the younger, her hand tight in a fist.

"Then it' be you!" She launched her punch, aiming for their head, only for it to be caught by the killer.

"I get it. You cared, you were attached. but face the truth, miss Moe." Feng said, blocking and catching each of Moe's attacks as they got more and more disorganized and desperate in nature.

"She was a monster. Truthfully though..I don't think she knew it either." Feng caught Moe's shaking hands as she began to weep again.

They tossed her to the ground with a thud. The sand of the golden wasteland kicking up to accomodate the new body.

They stood over her, dragon robes and cape flowing as the wind blew.

Moe narrowed her eyes.

"I get it." They sighed. "Really. But its for the greater good."

Feng looked away, diverting their gaze to the body of Parker. Their friend.

"Sooner or later though.." They breathed in, a saddened expression crossing rheir features. "It would.." They blink.

"She.. would have become something worse than even me.. The same fate as King.."

Moe looked at Feng, letting out a choked sob.

"I wont attened the service." They spoke quietly, dropping their broken katana in the sand for Moe.

It stained the sand around it red.

And that was it.

Parker was dead.

Gone.

Eternity.

Thats how long it felt, anyway.

In truth, maybe it was five minutes.

She curled into her ball tighter, a scowl on her glowing face.

She still felt it, the stabbing through her core, Her scream.

She swore she heard her mother yell out too.

She didn't stay long enough to know if it was her, though.

She regretted it.

The anger to not have said goodbye to her mother.

Moe.

Her eyebrows furrowed tighter.

Her teeth were grit.

A flame inside of her grew stronger, she knew the flame personally.

"You look awful." Parker's head shot up, looking around the black void she floated in.

She looked for the source of the noise, desperate to see a person.

Did she say that?

"No. I said it."

What?

"Me. You. I suppose the difference is really only imaginary." The voice materialized and the flame in Parker was gone.

"I'm you, you're me. Simple, right?" She smiled, Parker wanted to be sick.

"They were right. We are a monster."

No.

She lurxhed forward, her hands trying to choke out the voice.

Who even are you?

She demanded.

"I just said it! Jeez. I'm you. Just you, Parker." That sick smile on the voices face.

No. I'm Parker.

"And so am I. We both are. Our only difference is what defines us."

What?

Her hands loosened.

"You, the nice, energetic, fun Parker..and me, the cold, angry parker. The one you supress."

I..

"You refuse me."

I know.

Parker returned back to her curled position. She didn't want to see the entity.

"So why don't you let me out for once..?" She smiled, her hand extended out.

Parker looked at her hand.

She didn't move it, where did the voice..

But i'm dead.

"No."

She blinked.

But I was stabbed, my core is gone dim! Feng betrayed me again...

"Well, I suppose, maybe to reality, youre dead. But we can rewrite that."

Re..Write..?

The entity laughed.

Parker blinked.

Don't hurt them..

"You'd never do it anyway..."

The light waa bright, Parker scrunched her eyes.

At first, it was cold.

Her hands, ice cold.

And then the pain came.

The stabbing pain she expected wasn't there. It was something..else.

A hollow pain.

Parker turned her head, seeing the red blood stained sand slowly start to shimmer away, becoming its ichor state again.

She looked up, her gaze targetted on Feng.

She understood now. Gritting her teeth, she stood up with a groan. The hole in her chest mending itself.

She vaugely saw Moe look her way with a gasp.

She stood up fully, nothing else registering but her own anger.

And she knew who it was for.

Parker picked up her cape, slid it over her shoulders and barred her teeth.

When Feng turned around all they knew was fear.

Hands.

Neck.

Her hands were made to hold their neck. Not in a loving way.

Feng coughed, choking on the dust and air. Desperation in their eyes as the gasped for air.

"You were right, Feng! I AM a monster, aren't I?" She gritted out. Letting go of the dragon and kicking them back as they fell, into to the sand.

Feng gasped for air, blood trickling down the side of their head as Parker approached.

Moe banged on the barrier She'd erected out of her light.

Parker grabbed Feng's wrist with malice, thumb pressing into their veins.

"Parker is gone.." She whispered.

"I am what you made out of her." She snapped their arm in two.

Feng screamed kicking Parker off of them. "You look scared."

Feng looked up at Parkers glowing vessel. "So much for the strong dragon prince.." Parker scoffed.

She trailed back, picking up the shattered katana, inspecting it and returning to the older.

"Aren't we both monsters, though?"

She plunged the katana through their core, the ichor spraying everywhere.

Feng faintly registered the pain before everything was gone.

Everything except the floor.

They blinked, looking around, spotting Parker.

Starring at them.

"You too?" She asked.

Feng couldn't find the words.

Only the regret.

Parker smiled sadly, walking over with their arms out, receiving the shaking Feng Xioatian.

They slowly fell to their knees together, embracing.

"I think.." Parker started. "I would have asked you to kill me if i knew too."

"You would have?" Feng asked, holding Parker tight out of fear she'd dissapear if they didn't.

"Yeah.. Scary to think that thing is part of me.." Parker chuckled.

The two slowly, stopped hugging. Feng still insisting holding some part of Parker, though.

"I'm..sorry" Feng whispered, lookong out into nothing.

"I know."

Silence.

"You think mom's gonna be mad at me, missing curfew, and all..?" Parker asked.

Feng snorted.

"No. I don't think so. Not this time, anyway.."

Parker laughed.

"I don't think I'm able to forgive you yet.. but.." She looked at Feng, a smile gracing her features.

"But someday, I think I could."
