I was right… again.
It never goes anywhere after that point. Just it is there along with hopeful shy smiles and unnervingly appropriate behavior of a couple. But is it there?
The question lingers.
It is.
The desperate voice says and we go along with it. Thinking it is. That we will soon reach to that point. Where our hearts will be aligned, we would be so in synch that we can spend eternity together.
But time proves that voice wrong… again.
As it doesn’t go to that point… again.
The heart breaks, we isolate ourselves, go through some lifestyle changes with lots of new resolutions and hobbies, again.
And then, we go looking for the same thing… once again.
That insatiable urge never dies. That curiosity of perfect union, keeps us looking for more, making it fail… again.
Yunho lingered sitting in his car, drenched fully, listening to the pouring rain hitting the car window. So engrossed, he looked to the side, to the phone booth across the road, forgetting his wet and soaking self, ruining even his car, he observed the guy in the phone booth.
It had been 10 minutes of holding the receiver in his hand… dialing constantly… waiting constantly… hoping constantly. It ended now. With a sigh, he put down the receiver. Stepping outside he smiled at the wet road, the rain had stopped, leaving the dark chill behind. After few quick long strides down the footpath, he was stopped, by the loud horn of a nice sleek silver car. A turned to the car beside him, looking as the glass was lowered and a man craned his neck to look at him with a nice inviting smile.
“want a ride?” he asked. The man asked. A handsome man, tall and lean with sharp jawline and chipped short hair. Deliciously wet and hot, enough to ignite the spark he though he ran out of the fuel to keep it going. He went through the last decade of his life in a flash, questioned if succumbing to that urge so fast after ending it with someone else is so morally wrong. He submitted to it anyway, letting that small spark warm his chilled sad body as he flashed his toothy smile to the other man, opening the door and sitting his hope filled warm body onto the wet, chilled leather seat.
Both men riding through the night, piercing the chill left by the rain with warm wick of passion, turning the dark night into a polished gateway of the new beginning. Both of them had went through the same thoughts, emotions, disappointments, sadness, contemplations and questions in this last half an hour, arriving at the same answers. The future was never clear enough for anyone to see… but at that time, in those moments, they were completely in synch. Breathing and living in coordination, seeing the other in the clearest light of their own self.
They were the perfect union, as they started wishing to reach and go past that point… again.
They wished that they were wrong… again.
