Chapter Text
Tired from fighting the monsters Nico is slumped on the cold floor, then he hears it, it’s a ding from the doors of death. He wants to feel relieved, but he can’t not until he sees Annabeth and percy pass through the doors, not a huge hoard of monsters. The doors opened and he’s relieved to see a figure shaped like Annabeth stumbling out.
They all rush over to Annabeth and make sure she's alright, the first thought in Nico’s head is Where’s Percy. “Annabeth” Nico said, she turned her tear stained face towards him, “Where’s Percy” and just like that she started bawling over unintelligible things that no one could make out. “Annabeth, where is he?” Nico tried to get an answer out of her as she cried, “He’s gone” she cried “HE’S DEAD” she screamed, and everyone there cried with her.
A week later when they finally get back to camp Chiron calls Annabeth and Nico to the Big house, both were still heavily grieving from the loss of percy Jackson. No one wanted to talk about it though so they all mostly stayed quiet about the situation. Seeing that Chiron wanted to talk with them wasn’t a surprise, the surprise was that Percy had a living family. Percy never talked about his family with anyone, after a further investigation Annabeth had found out that his mother and step dad had died when he was 8 years old. But apparently she was wrong. He did have family, not by blood though, he was adopted by none other than the Waynes. The freaking Waynes. How could she have not known about this? They were the most famous family in America. Chiron started talking again, “Yout two are here today to decide who is going to tell the Waynes about percy death, I personally cannot go out there because i have matters to attend to in olympus but i trust y’all can figure this out for yourselves, here is the Address and some money for whoever decides to go i have to leave now good day”.
Annabeth and Nico were flabbergasted about how nonchalant Chiron was, as if he didn’t just drop the biggest lore about Percy's mysterious past before he came to camp. Eventually they started to talk about who was going to be the one to deliver the news about him “I can’t go, I'm really sorry. I know it will be uncomfortable with you but I have to stay to help Will in the Infirmary.” Not being able to come up with much of a fight against Nico’s argument, Annabeth was basically forced to travel to New Jersey, Gotham. As she made her way through the city looking for a great big manner she went through what she was possibly going to say to them, how would they react, how could she say that his son was killed in Greek Hell. Hopefully they won’t think she’s a luny and throw her in some asylum.
She was walking and thinking, walking and thinking, walking and thinking and she reached the manor Percy's family lived in, as she went up to ring the doorbell she started thinking about all the possible outcomes of this meeting.
Oh Well, what’s the worst that could happen.
SHe rang the bell and an old man dressed in a suit with a kind face answered the door.
