Chapter 1: Lloyd's POV

Chapter Text

"Sorry this seat's taken!" "So is this one!" None of the empty seats in the cafeteria seemed to be free. Or maybe they just didn't want me sitting with them? I was about to leave the cafeteria to eat outside alone once again, when I felt something hitting my shoulder. It was a small bowl of apple sauce. I wiped it off my shoulder, picked the bowl up from the floor and looked around. Everyone was giggling. I saw the boy who threw the bowl getting celebrated by his friends. I took the bowl in my left hand and threw it back at him. It almost hit him, but it brushed past his head and then shattered into tons of tiny pieces on the ground a bit behind him. Then I left. I sat down outside with my sandwich. "The weather is nice might as well eat in the sun", I told myself. But obviously I didn't want to eat outside every single day. The weather wouldn't always be as nice as it is now. "Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon!" Should have known they would tell on me. "Yes?" "You can not go around smashing bowls! We got everybody outside, go back and clean it up right now young man." I got up and threw the paper my sandwich was wrapped in into the nearest trash can. "Fine." I took a broom and started cleaning away the pieces of glass. It was cold and dark in the cafeteria. It's not fair, the, started it! I saw that the door was open a bit, some other boys were there. As soon as they noticed that I saw them they started giggling and ran off. "Idiots", I whispered. I threw the stuff I cleaned up away, put the broom back into the kitchen and left. It wasn't very late yet, so I went back outside. There was a group playing football, I was sure they wouldn't let me join in but I wasn't in the mood anyway. I went to the other side of the schoolyard. There was a big, old tree that looked like it would break down any moment. I was the only one who knew it wasn't. I sat there sometimes, but normally I prefered staying inside, somewhere dark with no people.
