Work Text:
Steve Cobs was very annoyed.
He paces around, loud footsteps echoing throughout his office. He clenches his fists so hard the knuckles turn white, resisting the urge to start grumbling to himself right then and there. Firstly, he just found out company revenue had decreased eight percent due to the fact that someone at the financing department turned in their report late. Secondly, he had to troubleshoot bugs within his newer creation and try to deter Mephone4 from finding out. And lastly…
Cobs walks over to his desk, opening a drawer that only had an old wooden photo frame and an unopened letter. He picks up the wooden frame, his hands shaking as he turns it over, revealing what seemed to be an aged photo of his family. The left side of the photo, which would've been where his mother had been, is ripped out. What is left of the photo is his father and a disembodied pair of hands holding an eight year old Cobs.
Sometimes Steve wonders why he keeps the photo of him and his father around, especially when the presence of the disembodied pair of hands reminds him of the painful memories surrounding his mother. It’s not like he hasn’t tried erasing all traces of his mother from the photo and his life, but she always found a way to try and weasel his way back into his life.
He places the photo down and grabs the letter before his hands shake too much, reading “Steven,” along with the familiar address of his childhood home. He sighs exhaustedly, throwing the letter that was sent only a couple of days ago in the trash before the temptation to read it grew too strong. He knew it would only make him angry, and it would contain the same spiel from his father of how his mother was mentally unwell and how that excuses her actions, and that they should reconnect.
Steve didn’t feel like facing either of his parents again, although he admittedly missed his father. It’s not like his father was horrible or anything, he gave his child everything he needed to live and more, it was just that he didn’t want to hear what he had to say about him considering his distaste for Steve building electronics in his childhood.
He was growing more annoyed at the sight of the letter in the trash can, so he swung open the door, looking for any nearby interns. He spots a plush slipper, and storms up to them.
“You there!”
The slipper turns around, revealing eyelashes and wise looking eyes, and that’s when Cobs realizes - She was an older woman. The irrational part of him told him that this object was not to be trusted, making him feel on edge. God damn it, didn’t he tell the managers that he didn’t want any female interns running around the floor where his office was?
Before he could think further, he realized he had just been staring at this intern, and his rational side spoke despite his terror. He cleared his throat, he really didn’t want this woman to be taking out his trash, especially when it has such sensitive information.
“Go get Mephone. He should be in his room. Tell him to come to my office.”
Mephone was lounging on his bed, eating a chocolate chip cookie he had generated. The door opened suddenly, which made him flinch until he realized that it wasn’t Cobs, but a kind looking intern. He sits up anyway, finishing the cookie.
“Mr. Cobs wants to see you.” She says, looking at the creation with a look of pity.
“Okay.” Mephone felt a mix of annoyance and anxiety as he made sure to brush the crumbs off of his bed before leaving. He could hear his own footsteps in the mostly empty hallways, which did nothing to help his fear as he knocked on the door to the office.
“Come in.”
Mephone pushes the door open, revealing Cobs sitting in his office chair, looking uneasy as he motions for him to come here. The phone walks over, noticing the letter in the trash can.
“It’s that time of the week again.” Cobs says, motioning to the small metal trash can. “Take this out, and you know not to read the letter, right?”
Mephone picked up the trash bag, tying it loosely as he let out a hum that vaguely sounded like an “uh huh.” He heads out the door, feeling Cob’s eyes on him as he enters the hallway. He was walking past his room, holding the trash bag by one of its strings when the knot came undone, spilling some coffee stained papers and the letter on the floor.
Mephone picked up the papers, putting them back in the trash bag. He was about to do the same thing with the letter when curiosity overtook him. Looking towards the door to his room, he took the trash bag and the letter into the room.
Hastily setting down the trash bag, the phone sat down on his bed, holding the envelope like it was a priceless artifact. He then remembers Cobs will likely be checking on him soon, and opens it. It took a while for Mephone to fully understand the contents of the letter, squinting his eyes at the complicated words.
Dear Steven,
I know that you have been ignoring my letters, but I will write until you respond to me. Your mother and I don’t even care about you taking our garage anymore, we just want to see you again. Your mother has been three years sober, and she feels awful for what happened. I do not know why you took what happened so harshly. Drunk mothers tend to do such things, and it’s not like it hasn’t happened to her either. You know that your late grandfather, god bless his soul, was quite the strange man. She kept in contact with her parents after it happened, and so should you. We are family, after all.
With much love,
Dada.
Mephone stared at the letter in bewilderment. Although he didn’t exactly know what “sober” meant, he knew from reality TV that “drunk” meant that you did crazy things, like running through the streets or starting fights. He imagined Cob’s mother crying about something scandalous to a smaller version of Cobs, and wondered why he wouldn’t talk to his parents over that.
Before he could ponder further, a knock is heard on the door, and the phone freezes up as his creator walks in. Cobs sees the letter in the artificial object’s hands and stops, his mouth slightly open and his face paling. The fear quickly turns to anger though, as Mephone held his hands up as to brace himself from a hit.
“What are you doing with that?” He asks, venom in his voice as he walked closer. Mephone’s hands lowered as he realized Cobs wasn’t raising his hands, but he was still on edge.
“What happened with you and your mother? Why don’t you talk to her anymore?” He said without thinking, despite his better instincts. Cob's face turns from quiet bitterness to fiery anger.
“Don’t ask questions you can’t handle the answers to!” He snatches the letter from him, his form trembling as he reads over the letter. Once he is done, he rips up the letter savagely, then glares at Mephone.
“But she was drunk! Didn’t she do fun things?” He says innocently, shrinking under his gaze. Cob's eyes widened as he said that, and for a moment it looked like he was struggling with his own mind. But his expression snapped back to that one that appears when something really bad happens. He grabs his wrists tightly, as if he were holding on to them for dear life.
“Listen.” Cobs tightens his grip even more, causing Mephone to let out a grunt of pain. “Being drunk is not like on your stupid reality shows. It causes people to do things. Horrible things.”
“Ow! Mr. Cobs, you’re hurting me!” He tries to yank his hands out of his grip, but is met with his arms not budging an inch.
“Are you listening to what I’m saying!?” He began to yell, pulling Mephone towards him. His trembling intensifies as he feels her hands over him, all over again. “Or are you the kind of man who thinks I liked it? Answer me!”
“I don’t think you liked it! I’m sorry!” His fear took over, looking at the ground as Cobs tightened his grip more. Mephone began clenching his teeth to try and cope with the immense pain.
“You do! You’re like them!” His voice grew even louder, letting go of his wrists to push Mephone back onto the bed. Cobs pins him down, hyperventilating as thoughts and feelings race through him. For a moment, he reconsiders what he is about to do, but remembers that he is just a robot - he can’t hurt him in any real way anyway.
“What are you doing?” Mephone’s shaky voice grew louder, struggling against him. This was unlike any other punishment he has had before, and he didn’t like it one bit. Artificial tears threatened to come out.
“This is what you deserve! You don’t know how it feels!” Cobs should’ve felt guilty when the tears appeared, but instead it gives him a strange catharsis like he’s never experienced before. The feeling of hurting someone like he’s been hurt made him smile, relishing the feeling of creating someone who understands.
He felt his tentacle come out, and felt disgusted with the temptation to penetrate his creation. He never wanted to use his tentacle ever again, he didn’t want the familiar feeling.
“Mr. Cobs!?” Mephone began to panic as he saw the tentacle come out, looking around for anything that could help him. He felt Cob’s right hand slowly graze his home button in a strange way, and shivered as an unwanted pleasure came through him. “Stop! Please, stop!”
“You think every boy likes it until it happens to you! Isn’t that right?” Cobs looked detached, as if he was talking to someone else. His hand goes faster, until a blue translucent tentacle emerges out of Mephone’s home button.
“No! I don’t like it! I don’t think every boy likes it! Stop!” Artificial tears streamed down his face, only fueling the other object’s desire to continue. Cobs moves to stroke the robot’s tentacle, a lot of artificial precum oozing over his cock. He spreads the precum over it, then moves over Mephone, slowly lowering himself onto his cock with a grunt.
The feeling of being filled brings the CEO to reality for a moment, seeing his younger self in Mephone’s terrified face. His vision was very blurry right at that moment, and the other object's voice sounded far away. For a moment, he realizes he’s just like his mother. But soon, the catharsis and rage takes over once again, and he begins to ride him, smiling sadistically.
Mephone soon realizes that neither struggling nor asking him to stop was going to do anything, so he figures that touching his tentacle was gonna make him finish faster and in turn leave him alone. He reaches for the tentacle with his right hand, brushing against the side of it with his fingers.
“Don’t touch me!” The feeling of disgust and a sickening familiar feeling rushed through Cobs, his eyes snapping to Mephone’s hand. He grabs his wrist, and slams it against the frame of the bed with a loud crack. He screamed in pain and horror as he realized his hand was hanging in by a couple of wires, the sounds mixing with what seemed to be a mixture of a sob and a moan from Cobs. He knew he had to fix that later, but at the moment he didn’t care.
Mephone was immobilized by the amount of pain he was in, the other object only increasing his pace and getting louder with his noises. He began to detach himself from this moment, the sounds of his creator only growing further and further away. He hadn’t even realized Cobs had finished until he felt him next to Mephone covering the both of them with a blanket.
“Now do you understand what it’s like?” He said, his voice quiet and raspy from being so loud. Mephone was hyperventilating, his eyes slowly trailing to Cobs, who seemed sad now. “She did this to me, and he knew. He didn’t do a damn thing.”
Mephone’s breath calmed down, but he didn’t say anything. He just stared at him, horrified at what had happened to himself. He still felt the stinging pain of most of his right hand being off, but he didn’t dare complain as Cobs continued.
“He didn’t do a thing about it, because she was sick in the head. Because her own father did it to her.” His voice wavered, as he looked like he was about to cry. He wraps his arms around Mephone, who tensed up. “I can’t even look at a woman without feeling horrible.”
He let the other object talk, tuning out most of the noise and the feeling of tears rolling down his shoulder. He looks over to the door, wanting to get out, but knowing he’ll anger his creator if he does. He brings himself out of it, looking over to Cobs, who is shaking him with a tired look.
“Huh? Wha?” He looks back to the other object, who’s eyes were puffy from crying.
“Please don’t let anyone come in while I sleep. Say you won’t let anyone come in.” His voice sounds almost childish as he asks this, taking off his stained glasses and putting it aside.
“Uhm… I won’t let anyone come in.” He says awkwardly, as he hasn’t ever seen Cobs in this state before. He gives Mephone a tired smile before snuggling closer to him, his eyes closed. He wanted to protest his creator being so touchy after what had happened, but he wasn’t gonna put himself in more trouble.
“Thank you.” With that, he fell asleep, leaving Mephone feeling violated and wondering what was going to happen now.
