ELENORA STAREK WAS AT a shitty point in her life . Yet again, another toxic boyfriend had taken advantage of who she was as a person. Her bad luck– or perhaps bad judgment– led her to receiving a broken heart at the end of a troubled relationship. Only this time – not only did she receive her own heart in two on a silver platter, she also received a pregnancy test and a flighty baby daddy.
Of course, she wasn’t completely alone. She had her father, her mother, her five sisters. Yet, Elenora felt all alone in the world. Being pregnant and single in college was not how she planned her life going. She was supposed to become a nurse. Then , and only then, would she settle down and have a baby or two. But because of her terrible taste in men, everything was derailed. Nonetheless, she was determined to be a good mother to the baby inside her – regardless of how she got there.
After living with her mother, step-father– one of the men she who she hated most in the world–, and sisters on Long Island, New York, she and her twin sister, Mila, decided to pursue college in Delaware together, where her father lived as a teenager and where they spent all of their summers. With a little help from their dad, it was made possible for them to move there together when Elenora found out she was pregnant. Things were seeming to look brighter again, even with the circumstances.
While Mila takes a trip to go visit their father in Upstate New York when Elenora is a little over halfway through her pregnancy, Elenora finds out her friends, Haylee and Hellen Halstead, are in the area for work. They all agreed that they wanted to meet up and so, Elenora drove thirty minutes to the beach house her friends were staying at.
One minute, the three girls were discussing the birth of her baby in the summer, and the next, the power was out and objects were flying across the room, right at the girls.
