Work Text:
Charlotte Cove. 16 years old, skinny and short, black hair and amber eyes. Pretty. Would think she has the perfect life right? Well, you would be right. If she was still under 15 and over 7. From the moment she was born, she was colorblind. Her mom used to sleep around a lot, so no one knew who her dad was. Her mom was a god awful mom, refusing to feed or do anything with Charlotte. By the time Charlotte was 5, she was severely underweight and had learned how to do basic things by herself. She didn’t even know she was colorblind until 8 years old. Eventually, CPS was called and they took Charlotte away from her mom. Charlotte was put in a foster home, then eventually getting adopted.
“Shammy dinner’s ready!” Charlotte’s little sister, Willow called out from their kitchen. Charlotte came out of her room, to see all her family members sitting at the dining table. Charlotte quickly sat down and looked around at them. As everyone started eating, their mom started a conversation.
“I’m thinking about taking everyone to the Savannah. We haven’t gone anywhere for a while so it would be a nice family vacation.” She spoke, looking around to see what everyone else had in mind.
“I think it would be great mom.” Damien, Charlotte’s older brother spoke, grabbing a carrot on his plate by a fork and waving it to Charlotte. “Especially to get Charlotte out of the house.” Charlotte snarled at him, sending annoyed glances to him.
“I think we should take everyone but Damien!” Charlotte said back in the same tone as Damien.
Soon after, it was settled. They were going to the Savannah.
