Tomioka didn't know how he had been pulled into this dimension but he wanted a way out. He couldn't tell people about this as they would think he is crazy, which he couldn't deal with more people thinking he was crazy. He knew he had been hearing noises ever since he was born, Noises nobody else could hear... They were like Phantom Noises, High pitch screeching or Loud growls. That was another reason he really didnt answer the other Hashiras, He wasnt able to hear them much due to these Phantom noises.
He wished they would have gone away, He wished he had grown out of them but he never did. He had asked his sister about it when she was still alive She couldn't give him a answer all that was said was 'his ears had been injured at his birth' this didnt give him much to go off but if he could have guessed it probably had to do with the dimension he had been going every night now for the past month and a Half.
He knew this started only a week or two after Tanjiros trail, which for some reason he had started to hear these Phantom noises even more after meeting Tanjiro. It almost consumed his life at this point. He couldn't hear much of anything else then these noises, He was getting so overwhelmed with the noises. He would constantly have headaches or he would even feel like throwing up. Everything was getting too loud for him, with the phantom noises and all the people trying to talk to him.
