Work Text:
Minato comes in from his shower, still toweling his wet hair, to find Seiya asleep.
His eyes soften as he takes in the scene. Seiya's head listed to the side, his body slumped against the bed's headboard; his glasses held in one hand, fingers curled loosely around the black frames; and on top of the sheets, of course. It's hot enough that Minato's considering sleeping in just his underwear, to try and reduce the air conditioning bill. That Seiya managed to fall asleep at all, much less at such a comparatively early hour, was a true sign of how sleep-deprived he'd been lately.
Not that it was new. Seiya, chronic insomniac, chronic overworker, chronic perfectionist, and all his. It's amazing that Minato manages to get him to sleep at all.
Minato finishes toweling his hair and moves quietly around the space, neatening up the small drifts of mess that a day at home accumulates. He lifts the glasses from Seiya's relaxed fingers, his own fingers already missing the touch of Seiya's skin as they lift away. University classes don't even start until next week, but Seiya's already worrying, already studying chapters ahead. Minato managed to coax him into reading a light novel that he'd enjoyed recently, just for a change of pace, but he didn't take offense that it had sent Seiya right to sleep. He felt relieved, if anything.
Minato wouldn't love him if he were anything else but what he was.
Finally, he's done everything he can except address his boyfriend's lax sprawl across the sheets. He pushes Seiya's black hair back and presses a kiss to his cheek. "Seiya," he whispers. "Did you brush your teeth?"
Seiya's nose scrunches, and his eyes squeeze more tightly closed, making his beauty mark nearly vanish in the wrinkles. It's adorable. Minato resists the urge to snap a photo. "Mm. Nooo...." Seiya mumbles. "I'll get up. I didn't mean to fall asleep."
"You never mean to fall asleep," Minato says, fond. "Come on."
Seiya allows himself to be dragged from bed and shepherded into the bathroom, where he brushes and rinses with half-open eyes and drowsy gestures. Minato helps him change into sleeping clothes, and it's a sign of Seiya's exhaustion that he doesn't even protest or act embarrassed, just holds his arms up to make it easier for Minato to tug his t-shirt over his head. He'll probably be mortified in the morning, when he remembers. Minato mentally promises to only make a little fun of him for it.
Finally, when Seiya is bundled into bed, Minato turns to go but feels a hand snatch at his sleeve.
Minato turns back. Seiya's eyes are closed but his nose is scrunched again. "Don't go," he mumbles. "Sleep better with you."
Minato blinks, and then smiles. He leans down to press a kiss to Seiya's unhappy expression. At the touch of his lips, his face instantly unscrunches.
"I just have to finish getting ready for bed," he soothes. "I'll be right there."
His word is good, and he slides in beneath the sheets a few moments later. Seiya snuggles against him, and makes a noise of intermingled pleasure and distress when he finds Minato's mostly-bare skin. "You'll radiate heat all night," Seiya grumbles, but wraps himself around Minato anyway.
"Probably," Minato agrees, resting a hand on Seiya's head and running his fingers through the silky strands. "Good night, Seiya."
"Night," Seiya mumbles, and sleeps.
