Section 3.F
In the event that all members of a cohort who have fully completed initiation (see ARTICLES 174–523) become unable to perform magic to the standard set in ARTICLE 2389 and/or die before the expected member lifespan (see ARTICLES 734–750), the next cohort that has not yet completed all rites of initiation (see ARTICLES 174–523) may be granted an exemption from Initiation Rite 12A.
Subsection 3.F.a
This exemption may be granted on the basis of significant depletion of membership (see ARTICLE 749) if the following requirements are met:
a. All members of the considered cohort have demonstrated excellence in both magic and their chosen field of study, as determined by the standards set in ARTICLE 2390 and the judgment of the council.
b. The archives have independently expressed a desire for the exemption to occur.
c. There is agreement by both the Caretaker and Archivist regarding the exemption for the considered cohort.
d. The opportunity for Initiation Rite 12A has occurred but has not been completed due to actions by current members of the society and/or the archive.
Section 3.G
If the exemption is granted based on the requirements, members of the considered cohort are required to complete Initiation Rite 12B (see ARTICLES 386–388).
Section 3.K
If the exemption is granted based on the requirements, members of the considered cohort are required to maintain an active role in the society, as determined by the discretion of the Caretaker.
