Chapter Text
Rainy days were awful yet it added to the aesthetics of his life or something along those complicating lines. It would seem he hated the world, maybe he sometimes did though in honest opinions he loved it. Just, he deemed it to be very time consuming to connect with it when he, unfortunately because he chose a difficult degree and fortunately because he would be paid heavily for his decision of becoming a doctor, so he gave his freedom to learning. Studying. You know the drill. On a rainy day like this one, Minho takes a look down the busy streets of Seoul, the bustling crunch of boots and the groaning of people. He didn't understand them, for they weren't happy with anything. Be it sunny or rainy or snow. He sighs, stretching out after a 24 hour labour emergency. He loved delivering babies thought it came with the horrors of death and joys of happinesses. Sighing he turns back to his table, only to find a pretty wedding card.
"Don't tell me Hyunjin is getting married?" Minho squints his pretty elongated eyes, he takes the crisp envelope to open it up. Groaning at the fact that he barely could see shit he reaches for his thin gold rimmed glasses and puts them on. His eyes grow twice as big as Soonie's grows when she saw food on the table.
Dearest Aegi!
I wholeheartedly with good intention invite you to your wedding on Saturday night. If you don't show up,you'll never see me again. You've walked of three weddings the past years and please trust me on this.
Hugs and kisses,
Mom.
The shock doesn't leave his features, he's not been on his phone for six days, with several births having come together in a row. Three were complicated ones and so was the last one where he had to slip his arm into a random woman's womb to turn the baby around since due to health issues she couldn't have survived a cesarean.
Twenty seven missed called from Mom and a hundred and forty from Hyunjin, thirty six voice messages from Felix. Minho was cooked, they must've thought he was hiding away but in Al honestly he had just been busy. He knew this would happen having actively walked out of the first wedding with his ex who apparently wanted to just sleep together and had suggested they have sex before the ceremony. Then the other being a boy who cheated. Minho was just a simple guy bound with traditions and who hadn't found his soulmate yet, well not that he didn't find him. He was out there, on billboards, national television. On sold out concerts and highest topping charts. A sensational rockstar and maniacal guitarist that the world loved. Han Peter also known as J.One or Jisung. It seemed like a lost course, a loosing game he wasnt even playing.
"Doctor Lee? You have an appointment?" A nurse peeked her head through his door.
"Who?" Minho cleared his throat, dropping the card he's been staring at like a deer caught in headlights. "I don't have anyone sighed in right?" He frowns checking his phone quickly.
"She seems in so much pain sir. Please come quick." So Minho runs behind the nurse hoping the mother would be alright by the time he'd reach.
Minho stops on his tracks when he sees Hyunjin giggling wickedly, he looked very feminine with his pretty blouse an shorts, his long permed hair put up on a messy bun. The nurse, poor girl rushed to him making him sit down and tries to do the needful when Minho sighs. Stopping her.
"Yuna, I'll handle it. You can go." Minho shoos the nurse away, he's too tired to put up with Hyunjin's antics. "What do you want? Don't tell me you're actually pregnant." He leans on the table with a frown.
"I want you to show up at your own wedding silly. Look I don't what your Mom planned this time, but the poor woman just wants you settled before she's gone. Peter is off league, I mean you would have got his attention if you were not a doctor but you get what I mean right honey?" Hyunjin stands, stuffing his hands into his shorts. "He's an idol and we're literally on the bleachers. Your string doesn't lead you anywhere but oblivion. Like look at my parents. Not destined soulmates but aren't they happy and in love and they had me!" He must have been bribed by Minho's mother with good food and Felix must have fed him a hundred or so brownies.
"I can't marry a man I've never met Hyunnie. My heart can not take so much. I know and I love Mom but, just.......When is the wedding?" Minho whispers.
"Think of it as a blind date? It always works for Felix I guess. It's umm...... It's tomorrow afternoon." Hyunjin bites his lips, avoiding Minho's eyes. "I'll kill him if he even slightly brushes any sort of pain against you." He extends an arm to Minho so the older can take it, he squeezes it gentle with a warm smile.
Minho first got his tattoo on the strick of midnight, the day he turned 18. Pretty little sparks inked the beautiful name on his left pec. It had been like a context off a fantasy fable, so beautiful he fell in love with it all. The golden threads said Han Peter Jisung. With the birthdate saintly below the pretty long name. It was impossible, he had gaped, screamed and called Hyunjin at the crack of midnight to tell him what had happened. The rather sleepy ferret screamed equally as much when he heard and let the words sink into his dysfunctional brain. It had been a moment of amazement where he deemed himself lucky but the spark lasted just so long. He knew he couldn't have Jisung the way his stars and planets, why even the universe thought they would. He did attempt to be at concerts sometimes, but always got the fastest seat because they could never make it to the VIP area ever. He lurked around Jyp per Hyunjin's advices looking like a handsome stalker, then gave up for his education. He wondered who his mother had chosen for him as the two he choices ended like broke glasses. Minho wasn't hurt even though he had quite lost interest whatsoever ever.
Felix's big round convincing eyes tell him he's up to something when he's standing at his doorstep, with freshly baked warm brownies. A million dollar grin and big puss in boots eyes. He's here to bribe him into coming to his own wedding.
"I don't think it's a good idea." Minho massaged his temples letting his other best friend inside who instantly blushes seeing Hyunjin sprawled on the couch.
"I don't think so too. But Mrs Lee is so excited I feel sorry for her." Felix concludes with a sigh. Minho's Mom had him very young, while she was too innocent to understand the pains and gravities of life and his father had to runaway from home in order to take care of her. He was the only child who survived after three miscarriages. She was attached, too in love with her son but she want the kind to control and make his life a living hell.
So he followed Hyunjin to try his suit on, a white ivory satin suit, with red jade's on the left side. It's expensive, too extravagant for him yet Hyunjin insisted on his best friend being dolled up, Minho was a minimalist normal person with little things he held close to his heart. They were supposed to prepare after going to Gimpo, a beautiful place close to he sea.
"What if....." Minho mumbles staring at himself with feline eyes and bitten lips. "He'll not love me?" It was a gnawing fear swirling in the pit of his stomach. A rushed wedding, literally being invited to his own wedding gave him anxiety but there was nothing he could do. He was a good son before a man.
"I'll kill him." Hyunjin says with a straight face, no matter what he'd not hesitate to stand up for Felix or Minho. Minho smiles, titling his head to a side, he often did that to show he loved them back.
"I'll actually help him hyung. Let's get this over with okay?" Felix hugs Minho's biceps tightly his beautiful big eyes pleading him.
The Lee family wasn't rich, they were simple middle class people with enough to make it through each year. When the elegant looking slender car drives them to a two story building with a bakery beside it, a thin female version of Minho stood excitedly.
"My Baby!" Mrs Lee squealed as soon as she saw Hyunjin's car pull over. Crushing the thirty year old son of her the second he stepped out the car. She still called him Baby as well he was her only child. "You two have made me proud. If only Minho wasn't your best friend I'd have marry him off to Hyunjin. Sorry Yongbok you are his un biological baby brother. Now are you boys hungry?!" Minho's mother harboured a more bubbly personality unlike go Minho's very reserved silent one. He got it from his father people would say and the looks from his mother. Nevertheless, they had a Greek God like son.
Dinner is served and before they know it dawn starts cracking in and the preparations for the wedding begin. Aunties and uncles congratulating Minho and cousins teasing him until his ears turned red. Minho loved home, the serenity of the atmosphere , the distance sounds of the ocean and the musky smell of salt.
"You'll have to move in with him tonight after the wedding." Minho's is informed, never once asking if he was okay with it. If his opinions even mattered firstly. His parents seemed lovely, atleast his father seemed to be a chill man, his mother though was nothing close to nice. "Peter is very peculiar with people he keeps close and he's in the public eye so you better be careful not to tarnish his image." She continues saying, confusing Minho even more than he already is.
"You're marrying 3Racha's Han Peter Jisung." Mrs Lee gleefully states, cheering whilst Hyunjin chokes on his water and Felix drops his chopsticks.
"Mom? J.One? Are you kidding? I'm after a 48 hour shift and I directly came here after fitting on my suit. Please my brain does not have the capacity to take jokes." Minho sayings pleadingly, just as Mr Han tries to explain the door opens revealing The J.One, in freshly permed long hair, his usual glasses, headphone thrown around his thick neck and casual checked shirt and sweats.
"Peter! This is Minho, your soon to be husband." Mrs Han seemed enthusiastic, no longer the stoic cold featured woman she was a while ago. Jisung gives her a curt nod taking the seat next to her.
Once their eyes meet Minho's heart stops beating, his pink skin turns a pearl white, his tattoo burnt under his shirt, suddenly seeing the red string of fate swirl around daintily connecting with that of Jisung's. Hyunjin notices the sudden change of Minho's mood, kicking Felix under the table he gestures their youngest best friend to shake Minho awake. He snaps out with a nod and a tight smile. One thing was clear.
Han Jisung didn't like him.
They were sent out to talk, get to know eachother on a spam of two hours. Out in the cold Autumn breeze Minho shivers. He's never taken the cold well, always a sensitive little bunny. Jisung's frown hadn't left his pretty features, as though he was in deep thought of what was happening just like Minho, confused and forced.
"I don't like you. You better get that into your head, this marriage is for the sake of our mother's stupid promise." Jisung's voice is deep and dominating. "You stay in your lane and we're both safe, don't go about posting on social media, or shit like that. If you ruin my image or my career I swear I'd make your life a living hell." He snaps rather.
"Then......Then why are you even here? Call it off or go back home." Minho asks, kindly smiling as though he would let Jisung go in a heartbeat even if it hurt him, to have his soulmate so close to reach just to let him go.
"I've gone against them all my life so this was the only thing they, or more like Mom wants. I love someone else I have his name inked on my body so don't ever get any ideas. No sex, you'll be given a room and a work space to do whatever crap or lowlife business you do. No drugs or smoking. Mind your damn business." He's rude, not everyone behind the screen were actual sweethearts, then again Jisung had his past of being a horrible teenager.
"Done." Minho agrees, they just needed to be married. That's all his mother wanted right? He can do it besides he leaves for work at 4:30am everyday. So he gives in.
"Anything on your end?" Jisung bothers to ask, Minho nods.
"I have three cats, they'd come with me." That's all that needed be said to the boy, obviously younger than Minho. They'd tie the knot in a few hours and Minho wanted to cry, his life was going to be amazing sarcastically.
