Chapter Text
With their hat in her claws, Martlet came to her house, so dirty, so empty house, it needed cleaning but she had no energy to do it. All she wanted to sleep so she could forget her friend's death.
She just wanted to forget.
She didn't want to remember Clover's death, how she left them alone in their final moments.
They didn't deserve death, a child shouldn't bear the consequences of a genocide.
The fate is cruel, it gave Clover a role to play. And they gave their best, little kid stayed faitful to the duty. A sacrifice they made for the better future. A future they cannot see.
And Martlet hated that fact. They didn't deserve it! Clover deserved to live happily, enjoy their childhood, become an adult.
She can hear the god's laughter. Oh why, she asked, why did you let them come down here?
She can't cry, they would be sad. They would fucking dry her tears and say it was their choice.
She hated it. Why they had to sacrifice theirself?
Their face is craved in her head, it will never fade away. North Star carried their small body to KING, they had small scars across all of their body, like thorn scars, none of them will heal. Their eyes half-closed, North Star closed them fully. Their signature hat was in her claws, a present from them.
She hugged the hat, fully embracing it. A tear fell from her eye, she couldn't cry. She was too tired for it. She sit down on couch, she still didn't let the hat go. She acted like the hat was them.
She closed her eyes, as if Clover was still with her, sleep came easily.
