Chapter Text
The sun rose over the Shinjuku area, blinding all of the non neon lights that dominated the usual area. Smack dab in the center of that mess of architectural madness was a tower with a large stylized H emblazoned upon its walls. This was the super conglomerate known only as Harway Enterprises. Headed by the current heir of their legacy, Leonard Bistario Harway, he led a sweeping reform to the city as section by section was bought piece by piece with only the suburbs and the most stubborn of areas holding out.
Even with all his charisma, Leon couldn’t actually make a dent in the spirit of those of the Shinjuku metropolitan area. In time, new things came out of the cracks of society as a new class of citizens rose from those shadows. Swathed in the colors of the souls of the citizens, they bladed their way through the city, spraying signs that symbolizes the constant need to rebel against the monsters within their ivory tower.
Carrying the very soul of the streets within each of those spray cans they held, these rudies skated through the streets painting over the corruption that seeped through those cracks of society.
It was when the Harways bought off the police and instituted their own force that people began to realize just how bad things were getting. Soon, the streets were being kept clear by their handpicked, pliable workforce.
A new voice soon came onto the air, blaring its siren song to any and all who would listen. This pirate radio broadcast would fight the sheer corruption that made its home within that ivory tower. The mask being a facade that almost everyone fell for.

“Hello! Hello my warriors of the night, shredding the bars and sliding down the poles as you completely overtake the streets. Making waves or making messes doesn't matter one bit. Here for you over the airwaves is the one. The only.”
“DJ Professor Z!!”
Standing in a studio, waving his hands around. Wearing his signature black suit Zelretch fiddled with the leveler a bit. The different individual rings on his fingers waved wildly around. He flicked the golden chain around his neck with his name engraved upon it. His eyes were hidden by dark shades and a quick smile showed off his singular golden tooth.
“Slinking along the waves through our aural connection, I have arrived to let all those know the skinny from those silver spooned cats licking their fancy cream from the ivory towers. On board from somewhere in Tokyo, the Professor is here for your lecture. Now siddown and shut it while I illuminate your possibilities.”
“Located in the heart of the Shinjuku region, a new problem has been running its mouth off as crackdowns by Harway Enterprise and its conglomerates muscling into the territory. It’s safe to say that nobody is getting their deposits back. Yikes!”
“You’ve also probably heard how several strange cars have been driven into and out of Shibuya. The strange blackouts affecting Akihabara. The Harway stadium near Nakano being put into hiatus and the political battles occurring around the Tokyo Tower area. Now I’m not one to believe in all this bad juju but there shouldn’t be too much of a problem… if that was all that was happening.”
“No you heard me right, listeners. There’s more problems bumping in the night and my voice will guide you through these harrowing times. For you see… while there is the corruptive force of the Harways encroaching upon your way of life, it doesn’t mean that the other people on the street are merely rolling over for them. They’re taking matters into their own hands… if somewhat… messily.”
“A few new gangs have risen amongst the old ones of yester yore, leaving power struggles amongst the leaders vying for more and more. A few locals are mucking things up while some foreign interests are coming in to partake of the party. It’s gotten to the point that you can’t even tell amazake from ama-koji now!”
“Mysterious poisoned graffiti with a fishy smell is all about Tokyo Tower. Foreign entities working towards an Egyptian hotel bent. Heck, we’ve even got robots walking and talking suckas!”
“Thankfully, amongst those crazy bladers are a different group that seems to merely be pushing back against the oppressive atmosphere and bad taste in art. You know ‘em, You love ‘em! The SGs!”
“We have Mash, the innocent beast that’ll drive you wild when you least expect it. Gudako, the trolling darling who leaves behind broken hearts and broken dreams, and of course the illustrious leader, Gudao, keeping these two from destroying all of Shinjuku by sheer will. These three aren’t your everyday punks, you hear me now!”
“This shit is going down now, Tokyo is reeling from everything that’s happening. I haven’t been this stressed since I made those weird cosplay wands for a student's friends. That shit was wack, yo!”
“Enough talk, now's not the time to be sipping tea, this game is starting up now. So get off your lazy butts and get blading down that black ocean and the reefs made of stone and steel.”
“You got it?” Gudao, also known as Ritsuka Fujimaru, held on to Mash’s hand as they blades around a small circle track they had in their secret base.
“Yes Senpai.” Mash answered, slowly allowing their hands to separate as she kept balance.
Mash gently pumped her leg and moved a bit faster. Gudao fully let go and watched as she made it around the circle a few times. Grinning like a fool, he pumped both his fists in triumph watching their third member regain their balance.
“Let’s not get too excited now. She’s still got a bit to go, til she’s as good as us.” Gudako, also known as Ritsuka Tachibana, stated rolling up beside him.
“I know, but let her have this one. She usually sticks to parkour to get those higher places for our marks, and I’m just glad she’s climbing even higher, metaphorically speaking." He breathed in.
Gudao sighed as he fixed up his black grunge t-shirt with white jacket over it. He carefully brushed against the SG logo emblazoned on his chest. The Stargazers group was founded by him merely a month ago and he wasn’t exactly finding it as the best overall gang in the city given it was only the three of them.
In truth they were both the smallest gang and the smallest territory. Their garage was centralized enough that they could strike out anywhere. The only problem was that they only had one piece of territory that was explicitly theirs.
Nobuzaka Hill, as it was so recently renamed, was their only foothold in the further Shinjuku area. Admittedly it was a bit sad to think of even if they had only started doing this a few months back.
His second in command, Gudako, was wearing her usual orange crop top and bearing a lacy black bra this time to show off. Even trying to be mature was only slightly marred by the sidetail ponytail she tied off with a yellow ribbon. The black short she wore vehemently showed which side of the line she was and contrasted his gray shorts in all their splendor.
Their new recruit was a childhood friend, Mash. Ironically, most people thought that was her nickname rather than her real name and immediately equipped that as her nickname. She wore a purple jacket hoodie and like Gudao, a black shirt. She was the only one of the three to wear a skirt, however, she kept a tiny pair of shorts beneath it to make sure not to give anyone a chance to see anything when she jumped up high. The black goggles that rested on her head also matched Gudao’s which led to a lot of teasing from Gudako which barely phased him anymore.
It wasn’t his fault where his eyes focused.
Regardless of that, his eyes focused on the skates they all wore. Apparently they were state of the art seeing as their benefactor gave them said equipment out of the blue. She was a real piece of work too given how crazy she was.
“Yo! Yo! Yo! Everybody stand up! It’s time to check things out, yeah!” A vibrant wild voice called out from the central platform of their garage park warehouse.
Standing up on the platform was none other than their benefactor Taiga Fujimura. Dressed in a pimped out black suit and showing off her cleavage as well, she effortlessly stood on her yellow skates looking extremely more smug than ever.
“How’s Delinquent one, two and three doing?” Taiga asked as she leaned down, getting the Gudas to take a peek like always… then bonking their heads for it. “Hentai!”
“Ow!” Gudao yelped.
“Ye-ouch!” Gudako screamed.
“This is why you two are still mega delinquents. You could learn a thing or two from Mash! She's way more reformed compared to you two, pervs!” Taiga grumbled before manically speaking cheerfully.
“Thank you Taiga Sensei.” Mash called out as she finished another lap and kept going.
“Taiga Sensei? No, I am not Taiga Sensei. You may see similarities but in truth I am merely Jaguar Mask, the tough yakuza leader with a heart of gold who rehabilitates wayward youths when things go wrong.” Taiga quickly stated, even turning around just to look back with a quick smile and a thumbs up.
“Sure Jaguar Mask.” Gudako mumbled as she rubbed her head. “Every time.”
“It’s not our fault you keep showing off like that.” Gudao added.
“Hmph, it’s not my fault my feminine charms entice all genders. Mwa ha ha!” Taiga laughed even harder at this point. “Now how is it going with your equipment?”
“It’s great. I fell off a telephone pole I had grinded up and I managed to land on my skates.” Gudao mentioned. “Barely even had a bruise as well, which was weird.”
“I fell off the roof and barely felt anything but a shock. Was that supposed to happen?” Gudako looked at her completely mystified.
“Hm… probably.” Taiga shrugged. “We took this stuff from Harway Enterprises. Apparently a lot of these things were being sent to the other gangs around here. So it’s probably important to them.”
“That’s reassuring.” Gudao faltered.
“You’re telling me.” Gudako grunted.
“Don’t think too hard about it! It’s fine, it’s fine!” Taiga waved off the concern. “Just know you’re dealing with the Harways eventually if you follow this life.”
Gudao and Gudako shook their heads. Before wincing when they heard Mash yelp.
Mash faltered on her skates when she was grinding on one of the rails that littered their hideout. As she fell the skates she was wearing seemed to glow and she immediately seemed to warp her back into her feet. They all stared as their little mascot character Fou skated over.
“Fou Fou!” Fou cried out. The blue shades hid his concern and he looked cute in his blue jeans and white skates with blue stripes, which seemed to let him stand up on two legs.
“Is that gonna be explained as a side effect of the skates?” Gudao pointedly looked at Taiga.
“So cool! Did you see the little dog rolling on skates!” Taiga pointed out, purposely ignoring the looks being given by the pair.
“Quit dodging the question!” Gudako growled, tossing her hands in the air in frustration.
“Whatever.” Gudao sighed before turning towards Mash. “Mash, are you okay?”
“Yeah! I feel a bit tired but I don’t feel any pain. It’s like I have a full body shield or something like that. It was kind of weird.” Mash petted Fou who calmed down finally.
“We’re glad. Look, we gotta head out to survey our territory. You’re ready for your first mission on wheels, right?” Gudako questioned.
“I’m ready, Senpais.” Mash pumped herself up as she rolled towards the two.
“We’ll be back… Jaguar Mask.” Gudao took a deep breath when he said her kayfabe styled name. “We’re going to go do our rounds.”
“Alright you three. Have a good day and try not to get into too much trouble.” Taiga waved the three off, watching them head off on one of the many alleyways that surrounded the warehouse.
It was only when they were all gone did she finally slump down. She hated it. She hated it so much but there wasn’t much more she could do. Her grandfather had made it really clear that a lot of the surrounding territories were being suffocated by the constant presence of the Harways. Their constant buying of buildings were starting to drown out the smaller businesses and family operated franchises.
When he had found out she was trying to reform some graffiti artists he insisted that she encourage them. He said that she should give them every single opportunity and advantage ever to cause as much trouble as possible. And so like the dutiful granddaughter she was, she followed his decision because she knew in her heart that he was right.
Already her ward, Shirou, had been strong-armed into joining the Harway Police force alongside Shinji. They were stuck doing paperwork and actually enforcing the Harways laws and regulations. She needed someone to break those chains before he was lost forever.
So when she found Gudao and Gudako going along with their friend Mash and tagging different Harway buildings with graffiti… she had found her team. Even if the pair were perverts, which some small part of her liked, since they saw her more for her femininity than as a thug, they were her best hope for making any progress.
“Good luck you three.” Taiga quietly stated as Fou rolled up to her.
“Fou…” Fou sadly looked up, and Taiga merely patted him on the head before going up to one of their couches and sitting down.
She would wait for them to finish up. After all, she had given them every possible advantage she could. She had involved them completely and utterly in a fight for the very soul of the streets. She would watch out for everyone who joined the Stargazers.
