I am the sun, he is the moon
The sun is seen as warm and inviting, a shining beacon of hope that adventurers will chase until their dying breath
The moon is seen as cold and dangerous, a force that shrouds the world in night as the horrors come out to hunt
But this is not the case, quite the opposite.
I am the sun, he is the moon
I am a blinding light in the sky, burning so hot that no one would dare to get close
He is gentle and kind, bathing the world in his light, like the soft touch of a lover after a long day at work
Despite our differences, we are equal, sharing the sky, chasing after each other in a fantasy we can never attain
What good will love do if neither of you will meet?
I am the sun, he is the moon
He is lined in sterling silver
I am coated in fool’s gold
I am a bastard unworthy of chasing
He is beautiful in ways unable to be described by words
I am Icarus, he is the ocean
Through my hubris, burning, I fall into his arms
He brings me the cold embrace of water upon my back
In my final moments, I smile knowing that even as I am dying, I am in the arms of the most beautiful being in the world
I am the sun, he is the moon
‘Till death do us part, my love
Though the world may stop before you ever know
