a problem solved

Summary:

A fellow village leader keeps making moves on Naruto with the excuse of tracking a rogue ninja for him, so Sasuke takes it on himself to solve the problem.

Or: the one where Sasuke shows why no one should be flirting his Naruto.

Written for SNS month 2024 - day 5 & 6: Canon Divergence/Jealousy

Notes:

YES! Day 5 & 6 were combinable with the idea I had so here it is! I want to write for the prompt "domestic" tomorrow and I think I'll be quiet for a little bit after that, because there'll be a few prompts I'm not super interested in.

Anyway, I'm having fun, hope you guys are as well! I'm actually writing/thinking of these fics on the same day that I upload them, so please excuse any messiness, shortness, mistakes etc etc.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Day 5 & 6 - canon divergence / jealousy, you are mine

Sasuke did not show himself often. Not during anything official, at least. It was something almost everyone in Konoha knew, by now.

The sky is blue.

The grass is green.

Sasuke disappeared as soon as anyone official came to Konoha.

Naruto was having his second meeting with the leader of this village, one a little over the border of the Earth Country, and he was growing slightly impatient. The man had sent him letters with updates on a rogue case — a group out for the kyuubi chakra, a strong leader, special blood lines etc etc, all good — that had become less and less professional. He’d gone as far as asking him for dinner and offering him a place to stay if he ever wanted to go the Earth Country himself. To be honest, Naruto had barely noticed. He’d read the letters and filtered out the information about the rogue group they were tracking. Sasuke, though, had read the letters over his shoulder and had huffed. “Is this guy for real?”

Once Sasuke had pointed out the endless unprofessional moves, it was hard not to notice them. And now his meeting was, well, awkward.

“The hideout was empty when we infiltrated, so my guess is that they are on the run.” The man stretched his legs, almost touching Naruto’s underneath the table. “But there’s no getting away, really. They are — quite strong but so am I. It will be a tough battle, but I’m the most powerful shinobi in this area. While I’m no match for a —  fine shinobi like yourself, of course, I’m not worried about anyone.”

Naruto nodded, pulling back his own legs. “Okay. Eh— great. Shikamaru will give you the files with what we have collected on them.”

“Thank you so much. We’ll take care of it. Say —” The man leaned on the table, towards him. Naruto pulled back a little further. “I wanted to go see your beautiful village. If you would join me for—”

Sasuke did not show himself often.

Everyone knew that. Green grass. Blue sky.

But Naruto couldn’t find himself to be surprised when the door to the meeting room swung open and a dead body was mercilessly dropped onto the floor. The body had a clean cut on his throat and was missing one arm. He was bleeding all over the carpet.

Naruto was honestly surprised he didn’t look worse. The rogue had been targeting Naruto.

And Sasuke had been frustrated. Not as much with the rogue as with the man sitting in front of him.

Sasuke was dressed in all black, neutral shinobi gear. Apart from the few specks of blood he had on his cheek, he looked unharmed. Unfaced. Instead of walking into the room, he lingered in the door opening. “Problem solved,” he mumbled. “This is their leader. You can end the meeting here.”

Fuck. Sasuke was — had always been — the only one who would make Naruto feel giddy. Challenged. Excited. He grinned at Sasuke brightly. “Awesome, thanks! The elders are not going to appreciate the blood on that carpet, though.”

Sasuke shrugged. “You’ll buy a new one for me, right?”

“Yeah. Yeah it’s fine.”

Naruto looked at the man in front of him again, curiously. The man was watching Sasuke with wide eyes. Naruto figured that he wouldn’t try anything after seeing Sasuke’s dramatic display of their difference in power, but just to do some damage control he said: “Let’s wrap this meeting up then.”

The man nodded slowly. “Uh— dinner?”

A fool. God, this man was a dense fool. “Sorry, I will be eating at home.”

Sasuke snorted sarcastically, then turned around. “Good to know. See you at home, then, idiot.”

“Make ramen!”

Sasuke waved at him, leaving the door wide open as he walked away. Naruto couldn’t help but grin at the scene. The other man, though, seemed to panic a little. He guessed that Sasuke always had been… a little dramatic.

This time though, Naruto couldn’t bring himself to mind. It felt nice to have Sasuke tell others: you’re mine, I can take care of you. It was also nice that he didn’t have to let these endless meetings drag on any longer. In Sasuke’s words: the problem was solved.

On top of that, especially after seeing Sasuke in his fighting gear, jealousy all over his face, there was nothing he wanted more than to get home.

Okay!” Naruto said, getting up from his chair. “Let’s clean that body up and call it a day!”

The man seemed to snap out of his trance. “ Right. ”

“Don’t you worry about it. I’ll do it. Go enjoy the village.” Naruto stook out his hand. “Sorry about dinner. These busy days you really have to make time to see your loved ones, you know how it is.”

The man nodded, took his hand and shook it once. “I’m sorry I was not — aware. I — I guess I’ll go, then.”

“You go do that.”

Naruto walked into their kitchen about an hour later. He’d hurried, bringing the dead body to his research team, handing in the paperwork, asking someone to replace the carpet and throwing the old one out. By the time he was back, Sasuke had taken a shower, his hair still wet and sweatpants hanging comfortably on his hips. He was cutting up scallion and ginger into small bits.

Naruto laid his hand on Sasuke’s hip and looked over his shoulder as he cooked. “You’re actually making ramen?”

“What? Wanted to go out for dinner instead?”

Naruto laughed. He wasn’t surprised Sasuke was still on about that. He turned his head, snuggled his nose into Sasuke’s neck, spoke with Sasuke’s skin on his lips. “Nah, I’d rather be at home. Wasn’t going to eat with him anyway.”

“You’re not exactly good at saying no.” Sasuke shrugged him off.

“I would have. Really.”

“Sure.”

“I’ll admit, though; this was more fun.”

Sasuke rolled his eyes, went back to cooking.

Naruto laced his finger in the waist of Sasuke’s pants, pulling him in a little closer. He softly kissed his neck, then mumbled: “It was also very hot.”

Naruto— ” Sasuke complained.

“Next time you can just tell someone we’re dating. But the whole dropping off a dead body as a threat had a nice charm to it.”

“Well, he was obviously not in any hurry to kill them. So.”

Slowly, finally giving in, Sasuke turned around. Naruto had him pressed to the kitchen counter. He could feel the warmth in his neck, the smile on his face. “Mhm… Did you get hurt?”
Sasuke huffed softly, cockily. “Of course not.”

Naruto nodded, bringing their foreheads together. “Good. I love you.”

“Hm, me too.” Sasuke grabbed onto Naruto’s neck. “Now are you going to finish what you started or shall I go back to cooking?”

“Ramen can wait.” Naruto mumbled. Sasuke let out a breathy laugh at the remark. Slowly Naruto pulled Sasuke’s sweatpants down. Underneath, Sasuke was already hard. Naruto ran his thumb over the underwear hiding his cock. “I’ll have this first.”

Sasuke chuckled, mumbled “ God, you’re a moron,” and brought their lips together. Naruto took a hold of his hips, pulling him in, then pushing him back against the counter again.

Sasuke grabbed a handful of Naruto’s hair, pulled him off his lips. “You should tell people that you’re with me.”

Naruto nodded, breathlessly, and kissed Sasuke’s neck open mouthed. Like that, he pushed Sasuke’s underwear down, pulling his cock from his underwear and pulling it. Once, twice, slowly.

Naruto.”

Naruto bit Sasuke’s neck slightly before pulling back. “Yes. Asshole, yeah, I will.” Sweetly, he licked the spot he’d bitten and then he let himself sink to his knees. He kissed Sasuke’s hip bone, his upper leg, his tight. He whispered softly, more to himself than anything. “Hm— I will.”

He slowly licked Sasuke’s cock, then took him into his mouth. Sasuke grabbed onto his hair, his fingers rough and sweet as he held him into place— as he slowly started moving his hips, riding his pleasure out against Naruto’s lips, his tongue, his throat.

Naruto felt Sasuke fill him. The fingertips. The soft moans. He held onto Sasuke’s leg, his ass, digging fingertips into his skin. Feeling nothing but his lover. Nothing else.

“—‘ruto— Look at me.”

Naruto opened his eyes. He’d barely noticed closing them. He opened them and saw Sasuke looking down at him with a hazy look in his eyes, black hair hanging messily around his face. Sasuke watched him and Naruto let his tongue slide over the tip to give him something to watch and Sasuke —

Sasuke tugged him back by his hair. “ Fuck—” he breathed out. He took his cock into his hand and jerked himself off against Naruto’s face, against his lips, cheeks. Naruto opened his mouth, knowing oh so well what Sasuke liked. It was just him. No one had ever known Sasuke the way he did; they didn’t even know where he went when away or where stayed when here.

No one knew Sasuke beyond them.

Beyond the fact that they belonged together.

Maybe he’d drop some dead bodies too, if anyone talked to Sasuke familiarly. He’d be worse.

“Naruto— Fuck— ” Sasuke came loudly, moaned out his name and gripped his hair tightly, letting his whole body lean onto the kitchen counter. Their kitchen. Their nights, spent kissing and fucking and softly talking. Theirs. His.

“Mine,” Sasuke whispered.

For a second Naruto wondered if he was the one who said it. But then he saw how Sasuke looked down at him, pushing the hair from his face; his eyes soft, panting loudly.

His.

His love.

He smiled up at Sasuke, feeling giddy, lovestruck. Proud. “Yeah. Yours.”
