“You’re so LAMEEE, KINICH!”
“Shut. it. and tell me if it looks real.”
Ajaw groans loudly and stubbornly turns around to not face his companion. There was no way he was going to watch the dumb crap Kinich had prepared for his boyfriend for the sixth time this trip!
“ Ajaw. ” Kinich sternly says his name, yet it comes out rather funny and so Ajaw laughs at his attempt at being serious. “I’m serious, this needs to be good.”
Ajaw mocks him, making Kinich even more frustrated than he already was. Today was tiring, he feels like his head might explode from the migraine he has and Ajaw is not helping.
“It really does need to be good.” Kinich says.
“What needs to be?”
Ajaw laughs even louder, Kinich turns around and sighs at the sight of his boyfriend. He’ll make sure to put Ajaw in a permanent time-out the whole trip in Fontaine if the surprise doesn’t work. Hell, Kinich will murder Ajaw.
“Uhm, well, I learned something new for.. you .”
Lyney’s eyes widened in surprise and curiosity. “Oh?” He sits down on his bed in front of Kinich. “What did you learn for me, Kinich?” He asks, resting his chin on his palm.
“It’s lame, don’t have high expectations.” Ajaw snickers, causing Kinich to glare at him and putting him on time-out.
Lyney got used to Ajaw being sent to god knows where whenever he deserves a time-out so he doesn’t comment on it. He even thinks it’s kind of, really, absolutely deserved this time.
“What Ajaw said was.. true , it is lame.” Kinich mumbles. “But I still want to show you.”
“Have a bit of self confidence, Kinich.” Lyney says softly and ruffles his hair.
Kinich stays silent. He feels so nervous out of nowhere, his hands are trembling— he needs those for the surprise he has learnt! Kinich sighs and shakes his hand, confusing Lyney but he had not commented on it.
“Uhm, I learnt a magic trick.” Kinich says. “It’s not as good as your tricks. It feels stupid to show you because you literally lit yourself on fire today during the show.”
“I thought you didn’t like magic tricks..” Lyney says with a smile. “Did you learn it, just for me?”
“Well, yeah, so prepare to be amazed.”
Lyney snorts.
“You’re the worst, nevermind. Archons.” Kinich says, feeling embarrassed and a bit stupid. He lays down on the bed, getting ready to fall asleep and forget about this whole dumb plan.
“No- no! Kinich-“ Lyney quickly pulls him back up and tightly holds his hands. “Sorry! It’s just funny in a way because you said it so dry and you’re so you so—“
Lyney whines, not knowing what to say any more and lets his head drop on his boyfriend’s shoulder. Kinich sighs and softly patted the back of Lyney. They stayed like that for a few seconds.
“What if I wanted to become a magician, huh?” Kinich asks, making Lyney raise his head. “You would’ve hurt my feelings.”
“I know. I’m— wait , you want to become a magician?!” Lyney asks with sparkles in his eyes and a tint of excitement in his voice.
Kinich snorts. “I’d rather die.”
Lyney dramatically gasps. “Well, now you’re hurting my feelings.” He says with a pout. “It’s my hobby, my job, my life you know.”
“That’s why I want to make you happy with a trick. So put the pout away and prepare to be amazed, ‘kay?”
“Alright! Show me what you got Kinich!” Lyney excitedly says.
Kinich nods. He moves his position to sit cross legged and holds his right hand in front of them, his palm facing himself. He slowly bent his thumb so that the tip was hidden behind the palm but the knuckle was still showing.
Lyney could tell what trick Kinich was going to show him and it mentally hurt him to see that he didn’t prepare beforehand so that it could look at least a little realistic. Nontheless, he keeps a smile on his lips.
Kinich brought his left hand to his right and put the left thumb against the knuckle. He covers the connection from the thumb and knuckle with his left pointer and middle finger.
Kinich then slowly looks up to face Lyney who smiles sweetly at him. “I am going to do something.. crazy.”
“Oh? What’re you going to do, Kinich?” Lyney asks, already knowing the answer but deciding to play along.
“You’ll see if you look down.” He replies.
Lyney hums and slowly lowers his eyes to see the horrible sight of a bad trick but he has to hold it in. Slowly, Kinich pulls his left hand away from his right, creating the ‘illusion’ that he was pulling his right thumb off.
“Ouch.” He says, it wasn’t much, but enough to make Lyney snort again.
“I’m never doing anything for you again, Lyney.” Kinich states and goes back to laying down. “I’m breaking up with you, actually.”
“I’m sorryyyy..! You’re so dry and- so stupid! Ugh I love you!” Lyney laughs and launches himself on Kinich, attacking him with kisses. “That was the best trick ever !”
Kinich clicks his tongue and tries to push Lyney off but fails.
“Then why did you laugh? Just be honest with me, did it suck that bad?” Kinich asks, re-positioning himself so he was face to face with Lyney. “I have Ajaw telling me to jump off of cliffs so whatever you say won’t hurt.”
“It wasn’t great but I think the effort counts.” Lyney says. “Your hands were put quite low so I could see everything that you were doing, so there wasn’t an actual trick, more a demonstration.”
Kinich hums, sort of understanding what he means.
“But it was really sweet, Kinich.” Lyney says with a smile. “It means that you’ve been thinking of me in Natlan, and that means a lot.”
“You’re always on my mind.” Kinich replies.
Lyney blushes before giggling. He pinches Kinich’s cheeks before leaning in and softly pressing his lips against his. Kinich sighs softly but doesn’t protest, the opposite actually, he kisses him back.
“You’re always on my mind too, Kinich.” Lyney says softly.

Ajaw was ready to have a tantrum and verbally beat Kinich his ass for putting him in time-out when he had done no wrong! No one treats ‘The Almighty Dragonlord, K’Uhul Ajaw’ like this! It doesn’t matter what Kinich is doing or whatever dumb trick he is showing his boyfriend, Ajaw will end him!!!
He looks at the dark bedroom and sees Kinich cuddling (gross!) with his lover, Lyney. Ajaw scoffs and opens his mouth, but no words exit. He feels tired himself and Kinich has had a long day, maybe just this once he’ll let Kinich get off the hook.
Ajaw will be an ally for today.
