Yureni yawned and stretched.

The sun was rising in the sunfire camp and along with it a young sunfire prince. He wasn`t usually an early riser but today was different. Wanting to surprise his parents was enough of a motivation to get out of bed early. Quickly getting dressed he snuck out of the tent he shared with his mums. Following the faint smell of breakfast preparations.
On his way he picked up a tail in the form of Sunny, a dragon baby his parents picked up by accident. The little one has been following the boy ever since he left the tent. No doubt also attracted to the smell of bacon.
The smell of which mixed with the smell of scrambled eggs and bread just coming out of the oven by the time he arrived. The chefs had already prepared everything he requested for him. The head chef came over as the prince entered the tent and greeted him. Handing him the tablet before he could ask and hushed him out of the cooking area just as quickly. They were busy and the queens would wake up soon. Usually rising at first light.
He had no time to waste.
Sunny almost jumped on the plate as he came out of the tent, the little dragon having waited in ambush for the boy to come out. The prince skillfully dodged the attack and laughed.
“Nice try Sunny!” to which the baby only chirped in disappointment.
He took off as fast as he dared. Sunny following close behind. The guards and citizens they passed greeted and smiled at the odd pair. A few jumping out of the way.
Slowing down before entering the tent Yureni got on his toes. Only one of his parents was deaf after all. Sunny mimicked the boy. Sneaking to the table to set down the plate. Time to wake up his parents now.
Both of them wear facing the wall with Janai burying her face in Amayas hair while she hugged her from behind. Deep in her dream she felt something wet on her ear. Making it twitch in responds. Then she felt something standing on her head. Opening an eye to see two baby blue orbs looking at her.
Sitting up she noticed her son sitting behind him. A big smile on his face.
“Morning Mum!”
“Morning Sunbeam. And Sunny” she scratched the dragon under his chin. Earning a happy chirp in response. Then she noticed the smell of breakfast and looked over.
“Did you bring us breakfast?”
“Yep! I thought you would like breakfast in bed.”
“You`re absolutely right.” She pulled him in for a hug and a kiss on the head “We love it”
The movement on the bed combined with the loss of her wife snuggling into her woke Amaya up. Rolling over she saw Janai and Yureni hugging and smiling. Warming her heart. Sunny, perhaps thinking that she felt left out, snuck under the covers into the humans arms. A warm dragon was almost as good as Janai.
She tapped her son on the side so he could see her signing.
“Getting hungry from the smell little comet.”
“On it!” He jumped off the bed and brought the tablet over. Giving Sunny the biggest piece of bacon before Amaya could grab it. Looking at him somewhat annoyed that she lost a piece of bacon he only shrugged.
“Sorry. I promised him bacon for not jumping me.”
“Just one?” Janai replied.
“Ehm…..”
His mums laughed.
They all shared what was on the plate with Sunny stealing, or perhaps being allowed to steal, more than one piece of bacon.
Amaya smiled: “Even he knows-”
With Janai and Yureni rowling their eyes and replying: “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! We know!”
