Notes:

I have never worked with the Dark tag before and honestly, I’ve never felt the urge to write anything dark. However, if you think about it, there is darkness in each of us. I tried to portray that in my work. I hope you enjoy it. Please don't be too harsh.

Work Text:

After being rescued from Malfoy Manor, Hermione Granger's life was never the same. On the outside, she remained the same determined and intelligent girl, but there was a shadow in her eyes that would not go away. Her smile became a rare occurrence, and her eyes dulled from insomnia. Every night, in the cozy cottage of Shell Cottage, when she tried to sleep, nightmares tormented her, denying her any peace.

Waking up in a sweat, Hermione cast a "Silencio" to avoid disturbing her friends. She knew her condition worried them, but she couldn’t allow anyone to hear her sobbing and tossing in the dark. These nights reminded her of what she had endured in Malfoy Manor, the torture and humiliation, and every time she closed her eyes, images arose in her memory that made her want to run away.

With each passing day, her nerves became more and more strained. She found herself becoming intrigued by dark magic. This strange attraction to power and control became almost obsessive. She couldn’t explain why dark magic seemed so appealing, as if it could be her salvation.

When her friends left her alone for a short while, Hermione began to study ancient texts related to dark magic that she could find. Thoughtfully flipping through the pages of the books, she sought answers that could help her cope with her inner demons. Each spell she discovered stirred excitement and fear within her. She knew this path was dangerous, but it was precisely the danger that drew her in more and more lately. Nevertheless, even that fear did not stop her.

With only a few tomes, she studied them with admirable determination. Each page, soaked in dark energy and ancient spells, beckoned to her like a sinister whisper from the shadows. While her friends were busy or peacefully sleeping, Hermione would settle into a quiet corner of the cottage and immerse herself in the pursuit of new knowledge. She turned the pages, absorbing every word and memorizing complex incantations. Her mind was in chaos, filled with a thirst that could only be quenched by further exploration of the forbidden.

Each book opened new horizons, immersing Hermione in a world she never thought she would become a part of. She read about forbidden spells, magical rituals, and dark creatures that could serve as both allies and enemies. Her heart raced with excitement as she uncovered secrets that had never been mentioned at school. Despite her fear, she felt a sense of comfort and strength in this new world.

Sometimes, as she flipped through the pages, Hermione caught herself realizing that she was drawn not only by her thirst for knowledge but also by the very nature of dark magic. She understood that this would horrify her friends, but the very thought of becoming strong and independent was too tempting to resist. With every spell she read, her resolve to grow stronger deepened. She recognized that this path was dangerous, but she could not suppress her desire to learn more about what lay beyond the realm of light magic.

As she immersed herself in her studies, Hermione gradually lost touch with the world around her. Her nightmares continued to torment her, but now she felt she had found a way to cope with them—through knowledge, power, and the dark magic that promised her what she had long sought: control over her own destiny.

The more Hermione delved into dark magic, the less discomfort she felt in the scar on her arm—the mark left from the torture in Malfoy Manor. With each new spell and every page studied, the pain and discomfort seemed to fade, transforming into a hazy memory of her past. She began to realize that the knowledge and power she sought acted as an antidote, healing her inner wounds. This relief gave her confidence and a sense of control, as if dark magic itself was helping her reclaim the lost parts of herself. The scar, once a symbol of fear and pain, gradually transformed into a reminder of her determination and her desire for a new beginning.

One evening, sitting in a cozy corner of Shell Cottage, Hermione felt that the knowledge she had already gathered was insufficient to satisfy her growing thirst for power and understanding of dark magic. Her inner voice, like a long-forgotten acquaintance, called her to new discoveries, and at that moment she realized that the only way forward was to return to Malfoy Manor. Memories of those horrific nights haunted her, but now they evoked not fear, but rather excitement—the encounter with the ghosts of her past would be not only a trial but also an opportunity to gain knowledge that could become her true power.

Hermione decided that she needed more books and information than the few tomes she had managed to find. She knew that the manor must contain rare manuscripts and spells accessible only to those brave enough to delve into the dark corners of magic. With each passing moment, her determination grew stronger, and soon she understood that it was time to confront what she had left behind. The manor, once a site of terrible events, had become not just a symbol of fear for her but a potential source of strength.

Gathering all the necessary items, Hermione left her home, filled with resolve. Her heart raced with excitement, and at the same time, she felt the dark energy pulling her closer. At that moment, she knew that the path she had chosen would not be easy, but looking up at the starry sky, she realized that this was exactly what she needed. Step by step, she made her way to Malfoy Manor, ready to face the ghosts of her past and absorb everything the dark world had to offer.

Hermione stepped into the void and Disappeared to the manor, feeling a slight tingling in her fingertips. When she arrived, she noticed that the manor, once majestic and imposing, now appeared desolate. After the war, the protective spells that had once surrounded it had lost their power. Silence reigned around her, broken only by the whisper of the wind, and the house itself seemed a ghost of its former self, faded and abandoned while its owners were judged for their crimes against the magical world.

Gathering her thoughts, Hermione made her way to the library, knowing that it was here she would find rare and powerful books—the books she longed to read. Her heart raced with excitement as she entered the dark hall, the very hall where she had been tortured. She tried not to flinch at every step she took on her way to the library. Upon opening the massive doors, dust and the stale smell of books hit her. She moved toward the shelves and began to quickly sift through the books, eager to grab everything she could find—spells, rituals, and theories that had once been deemed forbidden.

Suddenly, a feeling of something strange hung in the air. Hermione turned and froze in terror. In the far corner of the library, among shadows and darkness, stood Bellatrix Lestrange. She looked alive, even though Hermione knew she should be dead. Her black hair was loose, and the fire of madness burned in her eyes, a haunting reminder of who she had been.

"Mudblood," Bellatrix said with a smirk that was both grim and challenging. "What a pleasant surprise. It seems you've decided to play with fire a bit, haven’t you?"

Hermione felt a chill run down her spine. She had never expected to see this woman again, and in that moment, she realized that she was not only there for knowledge but also facing the darkest side of her past. Her heart raced, but deep within, her inner lion fought to contain the fear that threatened to burst forth and take control. In this library, amid the shadows of ancient books, she had to find her way to new power, but first, she would have to confront the most skilled dark witch the world had ever known.

With a grin, Lestrange advanced, her eyes sparkling with a mad glint as she looked at Hermione, as if she were a fresh prey.

"You shouldn’t be here, pet. This house is full of shadows that will consume you," she said, her voice laced with threat and challenge.

Gathering her strength, Hermione raised her wand. "I came for knowledge. I'm not afraid of you, Bellatrix," she replied, trying to infuse her voice with confidence, even though a storm of emotions raged within her.

A smirk appeared on Lestrange's face as she shrugged off a shadow as if it were a careless shawl. "Ha! Mudblood, you’re far too naïve if you think dark magic, is just knowledge. Don’t look so surprised, as if it wasn't you who took these dark books. Dark magic is life, it’s passion! Someone like you cannot learn such strength and power. You cannot pay the price for knowledge."

With those words, Bellatrix attacked, casting a spell that sliced through the air like lightning. Hermione dodged, retaliating with a powerful counter-spell, but Lestrange was too fast. They fought in the library, trying to outmaneuver each other. Streams of magic intersected, light and darkness swirling in a vortex. Each time Hermione felt she was finding her strength, Bellatrix cast new spells that awakened fear and doubt within her.

Eventually, after a powerful clash of magic, Hermione fell to her knees, her wand slipping from her grasp into Bellatrix's eager hands. She could hear her heart pounding in her chest, and when she looked up at Bellatrix, victory shone on her face.

"Pet, are you really about to give up?" she whispered with grim satisfaction.

Gasping for breath, Hermione realized this was not just a skirmish. Raising her gaze, she clenched her fists, reminding herself that she had not come here to be mocked but to grow stronger.

"Teach me," she said with a determination that surprised even her.

Bellatrix froze, her surprise and outrage mingling in a single reaction. "Are you serious? A blood traitor wants to become a student of dark magic? You should know that it requires great sacrifices!"

Hermione felt a flame of resolve ignite within her. "I’m ready for anything," she replied, understanding that this decision could change her entire life.

After that night, Hermione plunged deeper into the world of dark magic under Bellatrix's guidance, sneaking through the shadows. Their meetings took place in the estate's library, where darkness and silence enveloped them like heavy drapes. In the dim corners between the shelves, she practiced spells that left cracks and sparks behind, shattering the night's stillness.

Bellatrix reveled in her new position—she was not just a teacher but also a tormentor. Each lesson began with mockery that made Hermione shrink in humiliation.

"How could you, pet, be so talentless? Seriously, do you have even a drop of skill?" Bellatrix would sneer as Hermione struggled to perform another spell. "You think you have what it takes to master dark magic? You lack the spirit to even pronounce the incantation correctly!"

Hermione gritted her teeth, forcing herself to ignore the words that could break her. She knew that in her hands lay the opportunity to gain what she wanted—the knowledge that could give her power. "I can do this," she repeated to herself, gripping her wand, but inside, frustration simmered at Bellatrix's constant taunts.

Every time she barely managed to perform a ritual or spell, Bellatrix would dismiss her efforts with a wave of her hand, as if they were not worth her attention. "Good, but still not enough," she would say with cold laughter. "You're still too weak to even dream of power. You must be willing to sacrifice something important if you want to grow stronger!"

Despite the constant humiliation, Hermione persevered in her studies. With each meeting, she felt her strength growing, along with her resolve. She absorbed every word from Bellatrix, every dark ritual, even when they made her feel weak and degraded.

One day, after a particularly brutal lesson where Hermione had once again failed, Bellatrix smirked and said, "If only you would show some character instead of wallowing in self-pity, I might consider proper training for you. But alas, you are just a good student for my amusement."

Feeling anger boiling inside her, Hermione took a deep breath and looked at Bellatrix with newfound emotion. "I won’t let you break me," she declared, with a fierce determination filling her soul. And though Lestrange's taunts sounded like a challenge, it was precisely those insults that fueled her to continue fighting for her dreams and her desire to become stronger.

That night, as darkness enveloped the Malfoy estate, Hermione found herself once again in the library, where Bellatrix awaited her. The walls were filled with whispers of ancient spells, and the air was thick with the thrilling energy of dark magic. That evening, Bellatrix had decided to conduct an experiment that would test the limits and capabilities of Hermione.

"Tonight, my sweet pet," Bellatrix said with a smile full of sinister delight, "we're going to do something more interesting. I want you to use your newfound knowledge to gain power. We will raid one of the magical repositories in London. You will come with me, and this will be your first real test."

Hermione felt her heart race with excitement and fear. She knew this was a step into darkness that could change her forever. But the desire for the power and knowledge she sought overwhelmed her.

"What are we supposed to steal?" she asked, trying to maintain her composure.

"There are several interesting artifacts that could be useful in dark magic," Bellatrix assessed her with a glance. "I hope you’re not too cowardly to understand how important this is. I expect your complete obedience; otherwise, you won't be able to achieve your goals."

At that moment, Hermione felt her old self begin to resist. All her previous values, all the moral beliefs she had ever held, began to clash with the dark side that was igniting within her.

"But... that's wrong," she blurted out. "I can't just steal that!"

Bellatrix stepped closer; her face lit with malicious glee.

"Wrong? You still think you can remain good and serene in this world? Mudblood, you are naive! Power is a game where there is no room for weakness. You must let go of your old life if you want to become who you are truly meant to be."

Hermione felt her old fears beginning to lose their grip, but she still couldn't believe she was ready to go through with this.

"I can't..." she murmured, feeling fear and doubt filling her.

"Then you will never be strong," Bellatrix commanded, raising her wand and addressing Hermione with a hollow malice in her voice. "Do you think you can play with dark magic and still remain good? This is just the beginning. I will teach you how to wield your power, even if it means sacrificing your old beliefs."

At that moment, Hermione realized she stood at a crossroads. Her old life and her new desires battled for control over her soul. She slowly straightened and met Bellatrix's gaze.

"Let's do this," she said, filled with determination, and with that readiness, she took a step toward her new self.

Bellatrix nodded with a smirk.

"That's the spirit, my dear. Join me, and together we will seize the world."

And so, in the shadows of the estate, in the heart of darkness, Hermione began her journey, paying for her new future with the light she once held.

One day, returning from another lesson with Bellatrix, Hermione saw her friends sitting at the table in the Burrow. They looked worried as they spoke to each other, and it instantly caught her attention. Harry, Ginny, and Ron were gathered together, whispering about something important. As Hermione approached, she overheard their conversation.

"An artifact has been stolen that can amplify magic to unimaginable levels," Harry said, his voice filled with concern. "If it falls into the wrong hands, the entire magical world could be at the mercy of those who wield it. We have to find it before it’s too late. We can’t have another war."

Hermione felt her heart stop. She knew that this artifact was the very one she had taken with Bellatrix, and now she was on the brink of a choice. She forced herself to look confused.

"I need to find my parents," she said, trying to hide the turmoil within her. "I can’t stay here knowing what might happen."

Her friends turned to her instantly, full of worry and distrust.

"Hermione, you can’t do this alone!" Ginny exclaimed. "We can help you!"

"No, I have to do this myself," Hermione said firmly, feeling her resolve grow inside her. "I know I can manage."

Soon she left them, leaving her friends in the dark, and headed toward the Malfoy estate, determined to fully and irrevocably surrender to dark magic and unite with Bellatrix. She stepped into the grim walls, her heart racing with excitement and fear.

When she met Bellatrix again, a smile blossomed on her face, full of sinister amusement.

"Well, my dear, are you back to conquer the world?" she asked sarcastically, as if anticipating the events to come.

Without hesitation, Hermione replied, "Let’s lay this world at our feet."

Bellatrix laughed, her eyes sparkling with delight.

"That’s my pet! Finally ready to do some dirty great deeds!" she said, nodding approvingly. "Now we’ll show these pathetic wizards what true female power means."

With every word from Bellatrix, Hermione felt her new life taking shape, her old self fading away, giving way to a new entity that craved power and control. Together they plotted to seize the magical world, and no one could stop them.
