Chapter Text
Okay, I’m bored, so I’m thinking I’ll rant about my hyper fixation (aka SaMS/LaES) (aka the Sun and Moon Show/the Lunar and Earth Show)
Specifically the Star Power system.
Okay, so, there are the Negative Star Beings and the Astral Bodies, I don’t believe Negative Star Beings have an official name yet.
The Astral Bodies are composed of the twelve star signs (Gemini, Libra, Taurus, etc.) and also other minor star beings such as Nebula and Ursa Major and Minor.
The Negative Star Beings are different in the way that there are only two majors but many more minors. The majors are most notably Cetus and Ophiuchus.
IN THE BEGINNING… of this universe there were actually 14 Star Beings made in total, Gemini wasn’t made full-on Astral Bodies until later. If you’re confused on the fourteen bit and not thirteen (Astrals + two negatives), Libra I’m making not a fully Positive Star Power Being.
“What!?” You all say in unison (idk). Yes, I’ve head-canon’d it so that Libra is actually the fusion of a major Negative Star Being and a major Positive Star Being. They look like a glowing silver and gold metal humanoid with one of those weights on their heads. They measure the balance of all Negative and Positive Star Power (which is why they’re the highest in the Council even if they aren’t technically a Zodiac even though they kinda are, whatever I’m getting ahead of myself).
And Gemini also wasn’t originally supposed to be an Astral either, they were originally two minor Positive Star Beings (Castor and Pollux) and learned they could fuse together and be as powerful as the average Astral, so they were added to the Council. Which also means Gemini is much younger than the other zodiacs, still very old but that’s part of the reason the council—especially Taurus and Leo—don’t take them very seriously especially when they’re separated. I also kinda head-canon that all the Star Beings are, like, really tall so Castor and Pollux would technically be considered the shortest Astrals, even when their fused together they aren’t as tall as the others.
Also, Negative Star Power and Positive Star Power are repellent energies. What does that mean? Well, if you haven’t taken physics before, it means that they can’t touch. And in their case, if they touch… well, boom.
That’s why Libra’s body is made of metal and not just pure Negative and Positive Power. They’re also technically made of Heliomight, aka a type of metal that can safely hold Negative and Positive Star Power in it without having it expand or fizz out or disperse.
I have another head-canon that Earth’s cuffs (y’know her golden cuffs?) that the Creator used to use to absorb Star Power and bring back to him for him to research without Earth knowing were modified by Moon along with Gemini and Nebula into something that holds both Negative and Positive Star Power in it. They used to not have a real purpose until Earth accidentally hit them together a bit too hard and they made a shock explosion. This sort of explosion can only effect Star Power/things that contain or are made of Star Power so this can effect the Astrals and anything that alive or sentient. It can also technically effect Goliath because—even though he’s not sentient or alive—he’s made of Heliomight since Lunar’s Star Power doesn’t effect him anymore, but now Earth cuffs can.
Positive Star Power and Negative Star Power have different sources too. For example, anything alive in any sense of the word has Star Power in it, so Sun, Moon, Earth, Solar, etc. all hold Star Power in them, but not enough that they’re able to use it (like a really small amount). Lunar, when he was blown up, had Star Power in him, and the reason he was able to be rebuilt is that his consciousness was just barely held together by the smallest amount of Star Power in the one nano-machine that survived the explosion. When he was brought up into space his body was fused with the Star Power just floating around up there both negative and positive, that’s why now he can control both, he was exposed to it and fused with it in a sense.
Some people learn how to take the Positive Star Power that is already in them and call more of it to themselves, like Sun did.
Also, how Negative Star Power is created is in the destruction of pre-existing Positive Star Power, like when something/one is killed the small amount of Positive Star Power in it is transferred into Negative. This goes vice-versa too, so technically when Nexus was killed the Negative Star Power in his system turned into Positive and it damaged Dark Sun’s pocket dimension area since it was made entirely out of Dark Matter which is a concentration of Negative Star Power.
